PHP - Creating Variables For Css Pseudo-classes
Hello, is it possible to created a variable for a pseudo class?
For example I normally do something like this.
$tableWrapper = "background-color:{$alertColor};font-size:12px; padding: 0px 5px 5px 5px;text-align:center;";Then when I use it in my HTML I would call the variable like so. $tData .= "<div style='{$tableWrapper}'>\n";But for something like this $ul.alertLegend liWouldn't work because of the period. Is this possible to do? I really need to be able to do this since the color that will be included in the class is being pulled from an array depending on a certain value. So is it possible to created a variable for for pseudo class? -Thanks Similar TutorialsHi all I am having some issues basically Code: [Select] $sftp->put("server.properties", "allow-nether=".$nether." level-name=".$lname.""); is not printing the variables. $sftp is part of the phpseclib and the fuction is in the same format as fwrite(), I have tried and failed using fwrite as well! I can echo out the 1st variable correctly, but as soon as I add the second I just get Code: [Select] allow-nether= level-name= The variables $nether and $lname exist and I have echo'd them to check. I guess this is a formatting problem, just cant work it out! I've been spending long hours learning about classes and their magic methods. I just came across a tutorial which showed a constructor like this:
class Device { //... public function __construct(Battery $battery, $name) { // $battery can only be a valid Battery object $this->battery = $battery; $this->name = $name; // connect to the network $this->connect(); } //... }the Battery part instantly caught my attention. Here had previously made a Battery class (and a more complete Device class) but the next thing he did really caught my interest: $device = new Device(new Battery(), 'iMagic'); // iMagic connected echo $device->name; // iMagicwhat the hell is going on here? Is this another way to include the methods and properties of one class into another class, in order words is this the same thing as: class Device extends BatteryI don't think so because this new Battery() thing looks more like its creating an object inside the Device object. Previously the only way I could to that was to type $battery = new Battery() inside one of my methods. But this looks like hes doing something different. Can anyone explain whats going on here? The whole tutorial is he http://code.tutsplus...-php--net-13085 in the main Device method he has a premade $battery variable to hold the Battery object. Sometimes I have multiple classes containing functions which I'd like to include in my main class. I can only extend one class, so I usually extent a class containing only properties, no methods. I still don't know what difference making that info class abstract is, I'd appreciate if anyone could tell me. Also I'd love to know what the point in static methods is. I've never used them because I've never seen the point. Is it just to make it easier to call the methods because you don't need to create an object instance to call them? Sorry for the extra questions, the first one is what I'm really wondering about. I need to extract shopping cart transaction information from a database, convert it to json format and send to another DB. Because the fields are not a direct match the calculated values are first bing put into variables. I'm extracting the line items from the database into an array and looping through the array to get each line item which I want to then insert into another array as a sub array. By the way, I'm new at PHP so be gentle. The first step I've coded as: Code: [Select] foreach ($oit_array as $inner1) { // Check type if (!is_array($inner1)) {$inner1 = array($inner1);} $lineprice+=$inner1[orderitem_price]; //calculate amounts required in variables $linepriceinc=$inner1[orderitem_price]+($inner1[orderitem_tax]/$inner1[orderitem_quantity]); if($inner1[orderitem_tax]==0){$linetaxrate+=0;} else $linetaxrate=($inner1[orderitem_final_price]-$inner1[orderitem_tax])/$inner1[orderitem_tax]; $linetaxtotal+=$inner1[orderitem_tax]; $orderqty+=$inner1[orderitem_quantity]; $productname=$inner1[orderitem_name]; $qtyshipped+=$inner1[orderitem_quantity]; $totallineamount+=$inner1[orderitem_final_price]-$inner1[orderitem_tax]; $totallineamountinc+=$inner1[orderitem_final_price]; $unitofmeasure="Units"; $linearray[] = array("LinePrice"=>$lineprice, "LinePriceInc"=>$linepriceinc, "LineTaxCode"=>"GST", "LineTaxRate"=> $linetaxrate, "LineTaxTotal"=> $linetaxtotal, "OrderQty"=> $orderqty, "ProductName"=> $productname, "QtyShipped"=> $orderqty, "TotalLineAmount"=> $totallineamount, "TotalLineAmountInc"=>$totallineamountinc, "UnitOfMeasure"=>"Units"); I then reference the array as $linearray as follows: Code: [Select] //Create Array $salesarray= array ("type"=> "TCashSale", "fields"=>array ("CustomerName"=>$customername, "ShipToDesc"=>$shiptodesc, "Lines"=> array("type"=> "TCashSaleLine", "fields"=> $linearray)), "SalesPayments"=>array("type"=>"TSalesPayments", "fields"=>array("Amount"=> $amount, "PayMethod"=> $paymentmethod))); The problem that I have is that the resulting array contains square brackets around the "linearray" data like so: Code: [Select] {"type":"TCashSale","fields":{"CustomerName":"Cash Customer","ShipToDesc":"Rod Farrell\n\r1234 Short St\n\r\n\rSlackville Queensland 4001","Lines":{"type":"TCashSaleLine","fields":[{"LinePrice":54.54545,"LinePriceInc":54.54545, What am I doing wrong?? I would like to create variables based on data stored in a database using the text in the variable. This is so that users using my script can simply add custom settings to the database and automatically use them. Example as follows: Table Structu id, name, value, group The name would become the variable name while the value would become the value of that name. Example row: 1, site_title, testing this out, site_settings Result: $site_title = "testing this out"; I know I will need to use a while() to pull the data but I don't know how to get php to automatically create a variable with the right name/data combo... Any ideas out help. Hi there,
I have a table in a MySQL database where I keep a list of user privileges. I am trying to create variables where the name of variable matches the privileges in the table.
This is also known as variable variables (I think).
EDIT (17/07/2014 04:02 PM): This might be a better way to describe what I'd like, so if the value from the table is admin_panel I'd like to dynamically create a variable with that name.
I have created a code so far, but all I seem to be getting is a list of Notice errors telling me that the variable is undefined. (I have supplied a list of errors a bit further down the post).
Here is the code:
<?php $host = "localhost"; $account = "***"; $password = "****"; $dbname = "****"; $connect = mysql_connect($host,$account,$password) or die("Unable To Connect"); $db = mysql_select_db($dbname,$connect) or die("Unable To Select DB"); $perm_query = "SELECT * FROM `privileges`"; $permission_query = mysql_query($perm_query); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($permission_query)) { $rows[] = $row; } foreach($rows as $row) { ${$row['privilege']}; } ?>The list of errors: Notice: Undefined variable: admin_panel in C:\xampp\htdocs\DynamicVariables.php on line 20 Notice: Undefined variable: create_user in C:\xampp\htdocs\DynamicVariables.php on line 20 Notice: Undefined variable: edit_user in C:\xampp\htdocs\DynamicVariables.php on line 20 Notice: Undefined variable: delete_user in C:\xampp\htdocs\DynamicVariables.php on line 20 Notice: Undefined variable: create_group in C:\xampp\htdocs\DynamicVariables.php on line 20 Notice: Undefined variable: edit_group in C:\xampp\htdocs\DynamicVariables.php on line 20 Notice: Undefined variable: delete_group in C:\xampp\htdocs\DynamicVariables.php on line 20 Notice: Undefined variable: view_log in C:\xampp\htdocs\DynamicVariables.php on line 20 Notice: Undefined variable: log_settings in C:\xampp\htdocs\DynamicVariables.php on line 20 Notice: Undefined variable: password_change in C:\xampp\htdocs\DynamicVariables.php on line 20 Thanks Edited by chrisrulez001, 17 July 2014 - 10:05 AM. ok, I'm not sure I know how to ask this question, but I've created a table that allows the user to add rows. The problem is, upon submit only the last row creates variables. How can I make sure every cell in every row sets a different variable? This is going to be a purchase order system. Here is my code: Code: [Select] <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html> <head> <title>Insert Table Row using DOM</title> <script language="javascript"> function addRow() { var tbody = document.getElementById("po_table").getElementsByTagName("tbody")[0]; var row = document.createElement("TR"); var cell1 = document.createElement("TD"); var cell2 = document.createElement("TD"); var cell3 = document.createElement("TD"); var inp1 = document.createElement("INPUT"); inp1.setAttribute("type","text"); inp1.setAttribute("name","quantity"); cell1.appendChild(inp1); var inp2 = document.createElement("INPUT"); inp2.setAttribute("type","text"); inp2.setAttribute("name","description"); cell2.appendChild(inp2); var inp3 = document.createElement("INPUT"); inp3.setAttribute("type","text"); inp3.setAttribute("name","unit_cost"); cell3.appendChild(inp3); row.appendChild(cell1); row.appendChild(cell2); row.appendChild(cell3); tbody.appendChild(row); //alert(row.innerHTML); } </script> </head> <body> <form method="post" action="review_po.php"> <table id="po_table" border="1"> <tbody> <tr> <th bgcolor="#c1c1c1">Quantity</th> <th bgcolor="#c1c1c1">Description</th> <th bgcolor="#c1c1c1">Unit Cost</th> </tr> <tr> <td><input type=text name="quantity"></td> <td><input type=text name="description"></td> <td><input type=text name="unit_cost"></td> </tr> </tbody> <tfoot> <tr> <th bgcolor="#e0e0e0">1</th> <th bgcolor="#e0e0e0">Shipping</th> <td><input type=text name="shipping"></td> </tr> <tr> <th bgcolor="#e0e0e0">1</th> <th bgcolor="#e0e0e0">Tax</th> <td><input type=text name="tax"></td> </tr> </tfoot> </table> <input type="button" value="Insert Row" onClick="addRow();"> <input type="submit" value="Review" name="review_po"> </form> </body> </html> right now it goes to this page: Code: [Select] <?php //convert to variables $quantity = $_POST['quantity']; $description = $_POST['description']; $unit_cost = $_POST['unit_cost']; $extended_cost = $_POST['extended_cost']; $shipping = $_POST['shipping']; $tax = $_POST['tax']; ?> <?php echo $quantity; ?><br> <?php echo $description; ?><br> <?php echo $unit_cost; ?><br> <?php echo $extended_cost; ?><br> <?php echo $shipping; ?><br> <?php echo $tax; ?><br> here is the page: http://po.shopphgmag.com/create_po.html Thanks for looking Hi guys, I'm currently in the process of making a simple social networking type site for a uni project and have basically everything i want except the ability to use AJAX to link to my profiles in the search bar. I have this code to generate my XML: Code: [Select] <?php // create simplexml object $xml = new SimpleXMLElement('<rss version="2.0"></rss>'); // add channel information $xml->addChild('channel'); $xml->channel->addChild('title', 'The Social Network'); $xml->channel->addChild('link', 'http://reecesayer.com/projects/template/XML/news.rss'); $xml->channel->addChild('description', 'example'); // query database for article data include("phpfunctions.php"); db_connect(); $link = "www.reecesayer.com/projects/template/testprofile.php?id="; $select='SELECT email, id FROM users'; $result = mysql_query($select) or die(mysql_error()); while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { // add item element for each article $item = $xml->channel->addChild('item'); $item->addChild('email', $row['email']); $item->addChild('link', $row['id']); //I wanted to add a link before the $row['id'] } // save the xml to a file $xml->asXML('profiles.xml'); header ('Location: http://reecesayer.com/projects/template/XML/profiles.xml'); ?> I need to add a partial URL (http://reecesayer.com/projects/template/testprofile.php?id=) before the row is called so that when the email is searched it provides a link to the profile depending upon the id (http://reecesayer.com/projects/template/testprofile.php?id=8) Is there an easier way to do this or am i going the long way around? I'm only storing the data in XML as i saw a tutorial for a livesearch script on another site. Cheers, Reece Not sure how to describe what I'm trying to do here in the title, but here goes with what I am trying to accomplish. I've got a few hundred lines of code in total so far, so I'll try to keep it as short as I can. I've got an application that I am programming using classes for each module and right now I am coding the base classes that I need in order for it to run (database, errors, logging, etc). What I'm doing for my database class is I have a query factory and it extends the MySQLi class so I can process, clean and code the rest of my app faster. I also have another, unrelated class "Error", which will be used for processing errors I might come across. I'd rather do it this way instead of having to call trigger_error and error_log every time there is an error. I'd also not like to have to call a new instance of an object every time I need to use something from that class. Is there any way I can call a class within a class and return it as an object for all the methods within the class? I've tried the methods below, but no luck I've tried others, but I'm trying to keep it brief and get what I'm trying to do across. <?php class QueryFactory extends MySQLi { public $err = new error(); //Doesn't work. public $err = error(); //Nope. #This is the function that I need the $err object for. function set($fields, $newvals) { if ( is_array($fields) && is_array($newvals) ) { if ( count($fields) != count($newvals) ) { //Instead of below, I want to do something like $err->('Array lengths must match for method', 256, $islogged = 1); trigger_error('Array lengths must match for method', 256); } } } } The thing is, I have a "run.inc.php" which does include and create new objects for running just the basic app and if I try to redeclare the error class in query.class.php, it gives me an error saying I can't do that, but if i try to call $err from the page that has all the classes defined it throws an error saying that my method is undeclared. I'd like my error class be available to every other class I create so I can display and log errors as needed. Any suggestions or links to point me where I'd like to go? I'm helping a friend in developing a project for our alma mater. And its based on this paper: An Enhanced Indoor Positioning Method Based on Wi-Fi RSS Fingerprinting So far 80% of the web app is finished except for the algorithm (We have no experience with algorithms to source code translations) that needs to be implemented in the website. Inside this paper there is this algorithm that the proponents of the research used. (attached as screenshot). The algorithm was converted to code by using MATLAB, but we are trying to use PHP with our project. Based on the pseudo code the calculation of the Euclidean Distance is the core of it. Can anyone help us with the translation just to get it started.
At the moment I am creating a search function for my website. The approach I have in mind is a pseudo-PHP database. To give an example: A HTML form will submit the results to a PHP file. HTML FORM - Colour: Black PHP RESULT PAGE - if ($_POST['color'] == 'Black') {readfile("./products/black/*.html");} HTML FORM - Price: <$50 PHP RESULT PAGE - if ($_POST['Price'] == '<$50') {readfile("./products/less50/*.html");} The problem here is if there is an item that is black and costs less than $50, then its going to be listed twice. There is probably some code I can write to ommit the listing of duplicate entries, but it is probably going to be messy, so I am wondering if its better to use a centralized MySQL database, rather than a pseudo-PHP database? I've never used MySQL and don't know much about it and this is my first real attempt at using PHP. does anyone know how to decode this XML variable value into string values? I also need to know the oposite way: creating variable values into xml. I've tried several code examples but they did filter the requested data. Code: [Select] $xml='<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <elements> <text identifier="ed9cdd4c-ae8b-4ecb-bca7-e12a5153bc02"> <value/> </text> <textarea identifier="a77f06fc-1561-453c-a429-8dd05cdc29f5"> <value><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consetetur sadipscing elitr, sed diam nonumy eirmod tempor invidunt ut labore et dolore magna aliquyam erat, sed diam voluptua. If I have defined an instance of a class in one script how do I then use this same instance and the same variable in other scripts? For example say I have this code in a file called "index.php" include("myclass.class.php"); $myclass = new myClass; $myclass->$variable = "hello world"; However if I then have this code in a file called "page1.php" when I try to access the same variable it is empty. include("myclass.class.php"); echo($myclass->$variable) How can I use the same instance of this class across all files keep the variable values the same? Thanks for any help. Take the following example: <?php class a { var $things; public function __construct($stuff) { $this->things = $stuff; } } class b { var $morethings; $this->morethings = "something"; } $c = new a(new b); echo $c->things->__PARENT__; ?> The line "echo $c->things->__PARENT__;" (as you can probably imagine) does not work. How would I output what the 'b' object is stored in ('a')? im currently doing a large php project and i am confident i can do it. Its a basic forum like phpbb or mybb where users can download the files and instal. however i have looked through their code and i see they use classes. I have never learned to do classes since i havent had to use them yet. should i be using them now for this project? do i need to? and if so then what are the benefits? Hi there,
This might a newbie question but I need help understanding PHP classes which am currently learning.
I have an index page.
With this three included files.
database.php
config.php
account.php
on database.php, the class is declared using $connection new Database(...), on this page is also all the coding for this class.
In config.php is a declared class of $account new Account($user_id);
and on account.php is all the details for the account class.
on the index.php is echo $account->sayHello;
However, My page is throwing out an error because I'm trying to use $connection->query(..) in my account.php / Account class.
I have tried to extend the Account class with Database but still have no luck.
How can I make sure the I can use a class function from another page in my Account class?
Thanks for reading
I have just start using PHP classes and was wondering how you continue an instance of a class in another file. For example I have a folder called "includes" where I includes files that I send data to when I perform ajax request. However how do I continue an instance of class in these files? Hope that makes sense. Thanks for any help. Hello All, I am fairly new to PHP class development, and I was wondering if it is normal behaviour to see classes not being able to access global variables related to PHP-based requests ($_GET, $_SESSION, etc.)? I seem to either have to use "global <var>" inside of the class to access the data, or I am forced to change the methods so then such required data is passed in as parameters. Perhaps I am just doing something wrong? Here is an example of what I mean: class Something { function aFunc() { if (isset($_SESSION['somedata'])) { return false; } // this always returns false whether I had set the value or not } function bFunc() { global $_SESSION; // figured this would already be in a global accessible scope if (isset($_SESSION['somedata'])) { return false; } // now this will return false only when the value is set } } Now the above example is commented to demonstrate what I was meaning above, and I was wondering if this was the 'norm' when developing classes for PHP (and thus such values should be passed as parameters)? Thanks! |
