PHP - Filtering By Multiple Categories In The Same Row
Im struggling with how to filter items that have multiple categorises say if i wanted to search for a shoe that is good for walking and hiking in my database?
Shoe_id Shoe name color_id type_id colors color_id color type type_id type My problem is what do i do in a situations like this? say a shoe is good for walking and running? aka type 1 and 2 shoe id 1 shoe name nike color id 1 type id 1 and 2 Similar Tutorialshi i was working on a code where i need to use multiple categories for a post, i get help before to add post in multi categories, now i need help on what would be my query to do update for a multiple categories post, to insert a new post with multiple categories i used this $values = array(); foreach($_POST['categories'] as $catID) { $values[] = "($postID, $catID)"; } $sql = "INSERT INTO `relation` (`postid`, `catid`) VALUES " . implode(', ', $values); $query = $db->query($sql); so if a post had 3 categories it will add in relation table, now i wants to update that post and modify the categories, all other part is done only problem is to update this relational category table which have two columns only associated with post. i tried like this but did not work $sql = "UPDATE relation SET `catid` = " . implode(', ', $values) . " WHERE postid ='$id' "; please any help Members can be in up to three different categories, primary, secondary and tertiary. What I would like to do is have all members show in the result of a query string that looks for all members in a specific category no matter if it is their primary, secondary and tertiary category. Example: If say a visitor is looking for all members whose business category = 5 it will find and list all members whose BizCat1, BizCat2 OR BizCat3 equals 5
Right now I have this query string that finds all members in the members table with a BizCat1 = to %s. %s is a URLpararmeter variable passed over to the page.
$query_RSwbamembers = sprintf("SELECT * FROM members WHERE BizCat1 = %s AND LiveOnWeb = 1 ORDER BY BusinessName ASC", GetSQLValueString($colname_RSwbamembers, "int"));I would like the query result to also includes members whose BiZCat2 = %s or BiZCat3 = %s (the same value as BizCat1) which are additional fields in the table. Any suggestion on how to do this appreciated. Hello Guys, Need a little help here. I have a db structure like this cat_id | cat_name | cat_status | parent_id 1 First Test 1 0 2 Just testing 1 0 4 Books 1 2 5 Cars 1 0 6 Ford 1 5 If the parent_id = 0 it is considered to be the parent. If it is a number it is considered a child and referencing the parent I want to be able to query the database and grab the cat and the sub cat and echo it on my page. Its like a classified ads application. Here is my while loop that I currently have which only echo's out the parent category. I would like to echo the child category under the respective parent category. I think I would have to do a loop within a loop, but not sure how to do it.. $query = "SELECT * FROM ad_category WHERE cat_status='1' && Parent_id='0' ORDER BY cat_name"; $result = mysql_query($query); while($row = mysql_fetch_row($result)) { $cat_name = $row[1]; $cupper = UCWords($cat_name); echo $cupper . "<br>" ; } Thanks for your help in advance Hi there, I have a site that has several different pages which display products from each category on the designated page. What I am looking to do is create one page that also lists ALL the products. Right now, in the category specific page it has this is in the code: Code: [Select] $data = get_portfolio_industry('Building Products'); $offset = $_GET['offset']; if($offset == ''){ $offset = 0; } function get_industries($rec_id){ $sql = "SELECT * FROM `".TBL_PORTFOLIO_INDUSTRY."` WHERE `portfolio_id` = '$rec_id'"; $data = SelectMultiRecords($sql); return $data; } And this is the from the functions file: function get_portfolio_industry($industry){ Code: [Select] $sql = "SELECT * FROM `".TBL_PORTFOLIO."` WHERE id IN (SELECT `portfolio_id` FROM `".TBL_PORTFOLIO_INDUSTRY."` WHERE `industry` = '$industry') ORDER BY `id`"; $data=SelectMultiRecords($sql); return $data; } My hope was I would simple combine the products like this: Code: [Select] $data = get_portfolio_industry('Building Products,Building Services,General Products'); ...but unfortunately it doesn't combine them. Any thoughts? Any help would be much appreciated. Hi, Please help I need to make categories with su-categories I made in my database tables like this table = categories cid | cat_id | parent_list | categ_name | type 1 0 1 General category c 2 1 1,2 sub category s 3 1 1,3 sub category s 4 1 1,2 sub category s 5 1 1,5 sub category s 6 5 1,5,6 sub sub category s 7 0 7 General category2 c 8 7 7,8 sub category s I need to view this in dropdown menu using parent_list column I have been going in circles about how to handle the issue that I have come up with and was hoping that someone could provide a different method. Basically I want to be able to create an infinite number of categories and allow them to be assigned to other categories then making them subcategories/sub sub categories if you will. My initial plan was to use a method I have used before by just saving the parent id of the subcategories and recursively going through the data. However, I am not to fond of this because of the inefficiency that it provides. I did some research and found that method is called the "Adjacency List". I also found another way to do it called "Nested Sets" which seems to be much more efficient but its a little harder to understand / maintain. I was hoping that someone here could offer alternatives to both of these methods that will allow me to keep the efficiency of "Nested Sets" but providing the ease of use / maintenance of the "Adjacency List". Thanks in advance for any help. I have two tables, one called Categories and one called SubCategories. Each subcategory needs to be displayed under its parent category in a HTML table. So I have this code, but I don't know how to list each Sub-Category under each Category in a HTML table. <?php require ('includes/initialize.php'); require 'classes/database.class.php'; $sql = "SELECT * FROM Categories, SubCategories WHERE Categories.ID = SubCategories.CatID"; $Result = $database->Query($sql); $Data = $database->Fetch($Result); ?> I have a form and script that is used to collect information from users. There is one field that is url. There is one field that is email. I want to filter out scripts. I also only want to allow url in the url field and email in the email field. Is there an easy way to filter? I have tried several pieces of code to no avail. Code: [Select] <?php $root = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT']; include('/home/arts/public_html/shows/includes/config.db.php'); if ($link) { foreach ($_POST as $k => $v) { if (($k == "start_date") || ($k == "end_date") || ($k == "application_dead")) { $varray = explode("/",$v); $v = $varray[2] . "-" . $varray[0] . "-" . $varray[1]; } $v = "'" . addslashes($v) . "'"; if($k != "captcha_code") { $keys[] = $k; $vals[] = $v; } } $fields = implode(",", $keys); $values = implode(",", $vals); //$fields = "id," . $fields; //$values = "null," . $values; $sql = "INSERT into craft_shows ($fields) VALUES ($values)"; $result = mysql_query($sql,$link); if (!$result) { die('There was a problem with your submission. Refresh the page to try again'); } else { echo "Thank you for your submission.<br>"; echo "<a href=\"http://www.artsandcraftsnetwork.com/shows/\">Back to shows</a><br>"; echo "<a href=\"http://www.artsandcraftsnetwork.com/shows/shows_submit.php\">Submit another show</a>"; } } ?> Hi guys I need help writing a php script I have a table 'categories' with fields 'id' 'cat_name' 'parent_id' the 'parent_id' is just an the id field.. I want to create a way to have unlimited sub categories so I can have categorie -> sub-categories categories -> sub-categories -> sub-categories categories -> products How can i make unlimited sub categories when i have this mysql fields: id, name, parent Code: [Select] $query = "SELECT * FROM cats"; $result = mysql_query($query); while ($var = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { echo $var['name']; // now i need here some code for sub cats, but sub cat in subcat :( } Can someone help me? Hi there, I have a piece of code that takes all posts with the category of 'model' and puts it on the models page. It then displays the post as a gallery using fancy box. The problem is I want all posts with the category of 'faces' to go on the faces page, but at the moment they are appearing on both pages. Here is the code I have. Any help will guarantee a donation as I am at my wits end trying to figure this out. Code: [Select] <?php global $post; $args = array( 'numberposts' => 8, 'offset' => 0, 'category' => 'models', 'orderby' => 'post_date', 'order' => 'DESC', 'post_type' => 'post', 'post_status' => 'publish' ); $posts_array = get_posts( $args ); $x = 1; // track model foreach( $posts_array as $post ) { setup_postdata($post); ?> <div id="model-thumb"> <?php $arg2 = array( 'post_type' => 'attachment', 'numberposts' => -1, 'order' => 'ASC', 'post_status' => null, 'post_parent' => $post->ID ); $attachments = get_posts($arg2); if ($attachments) { $i = 1; // track images foreach ( $attachments as $attachment ) { $image_attributes = wp_get_attachment_image_src( $attachment->ID, 'full' ); if ($i == 1) { // Get thumbnail info to display with second image $img1src = $image_attributes[0]; $img1w = $image_attributes[1]; $img1h = $image_attributes[2]; } elseif ($i == 2) { // Display thumbnail with link to second image ?> <a class="allModels" rel="gallery<?php echo $x; ?>" href="<?php echo $image_attributes[0]; ?>" ?><img src="<?php echo $img1src; ?>" width="<?php echo $img1w; ?>" height="<?php echo $img1h; ?>"/></a><br /><p><?php the_content();?></p></div> <?php } else { // Other images ?> <div style="display:none;"><a class="allModels" rel="gallery<?php echo $x; ?>" href="<?php echo $image_attributes[0]; ?>"><img src="<?php echo $image_attributes[0]; ?>" width="<?php echo $image_attributes[1]; ?>" height="<?php echo $image_attributes[2]; ?>"/></a></div> <?php } $i++; // Increase image count } } $x++; // Increase model count } ?> Hello dear friends, If i've the following ( categories - gifts ) <?PHP $sql ="select * from categories"; $result= mysql_query($sql); while($line= mysql_fetch_array($result)){ $qryrow="select * from gifts where gifts='$line[1]'"; } ?> it means select category and its gifts now my question how to view it all in table for example if i add Code: [Select] <TABLE cellSpacing=1 cellPadding=1 width="100%"> <TBODY> <TR> <TD> <?php echo "". $line[1].""; ?> </TD> </TR> </TBODY> </TABLE> it will show me like this How can i make it like this my problem how to make table like this and where to put the php variable .. thanks Hello,
Is it possible to allow '@' and '.' while maintaining the rest of this regex?
$email= 'adsfsa@asdf.edu'; $email= preg_replace("/[^A-Za-z0-9]/", " ", $email); echo $email; I have a SQL statement which is difficult to use PDO on, it might not even be possible to do.
So I'm filtering it like this:
$search = $_GET['search']; $search = preg_replace("/[^A-Za-z0-9]/", " ", $search); $search = $mysqli->real_escape_string($search);Will this result in an acceptable level of security? Edited by anderson_catchme, 16 September 2014 - 12:28 PM. hi, i am trying to filter my gps history points. i would like to ignore points if they are too close to the previous position. i can do this like so. $old_lat = $old_long = "0"; foreach($history['data'] as $record) { //calculate distance in meters $distance = distance($record['latitude'], $record['longitude'], $old_lat, $old_long, "V"); if($distance >= 300) { echo 'add(jQuery(this), number += 1, "' . date("d-m-Y @ h:i:s",$record['timestamp']) . '", "map_post.php?n=' . $name . 'u=' . $history['user'] . '", "' . $history['user'] . '", "' . $record['latitude'] . '", "' . $record['longitude'] . '");'; $old_lat = $record['latitude']; $old_long = $record['longitude']; } the problem with the above is that if i arrive home at 6pm on friday and stay outside my house for 24hours, it will show the latest position as at 6pm on fri. i would like it to show the 6pm friday position but with a date 'from and to' time like (28/10/11 18:00 - 29/10/11 18:00) rarther than just (28/10/11 18:00) which looks inacurate. Possible? hey guys i was generally wondering...is it good practice to add_slashes and use mysqli_real_escape_string when entering data into the database?
then to strip slashes when extracting rows?
is this the right way to go around things...thanks
Hi guys I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction with this. I am using JSON to return the contents of a directory and then using a foreach loop to print each one to a new row in a table. Is there anyway to filter the results? Basically I just want to show the files that end in a .jar extension? Currently all sub directories and files are shown, however all the files I need to pull will be in the main directory. This is what I am using: Code: [Select] <?php foreach ($installedplugins1['success'] as $v) { echo "<tr><td>".$v."</td>"; echo "<td><a href='index.php?dp=".$v."'>Disable Plugin</a></td>"; } ?> Any hints or reading material? Cheers Hi all, I was wondering if i can filter certain log files like using 2 keywords and get all the info inbetween? The log files are like <1 MB. The other problem i encounter is howto since i looked all over the net but cant seem to find usefull info about it. Can you help me out here? Hi, I have an issue, I cant filter my data from DB.
