PHP - Email Contact Form Code // Please Help
Hi everyone.
Pretty desperate, first time that I'm working with php. Learning this language, makes sense, however I can't figure out why my code is not working.
Emails are not coming in at all. Additional required info (phone number, first name, last name) should be included in the message.
Please help. Thank you everyone.

"\r\n"; $headers .= 'Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1' . "\r\n"; $subject="New contact details"; $headers .= 'From: TEST<test@test.com>' . "\r\n"; mail($recipients ,$subject,$message,$headers); header("Location: thankyou.php"); Any ideas what I should do? Thanks I am trying to add my email to a contact form to where a customer would fill in a few boxes and hit send and i would receive. Where would i find the code to enter it? thanks, w Hello, I'm new to PHP but i am quite good with javascript programming etc so i'm just getting to terms with using PHP. I've made a contact form with an IF statement that will display confirmation within my page upon post. (I'm not even sure if this logic is right however). The form seems to submit but doesn't show the confirmation message and doesn't send an email to my webserver. Thank you. I'm having a problem getting my contact form information to arrive in the desired email account. The email account itself if provided by my web host. It has the ability to send and receive emails. The validation works perfectly eg when i type in incorrect/ miss out information it displays the appropriate error message. When i put in the proper information it displays the "Thank you for contacting us. We will be in touch with you very soon" message but not email arrives in the specified email account. Could someone please check over my code and see if there is something that I am missing? Below are the html form and php codes. I'm wanting a feedback form on my website where the form is sent via SMTP rather than sendmail. I have checked that php is working by doing this code: Code: [Select] <?php error_reporting(E_ALL); ini_set('display_errors', True); $path = '/home/****/php'; set_include_path(get_include_path() . PATH_SEPARATOR . $path); echo("<p>Sending PEAR Mail.php...</p>"); require('Mail.php'); $from = "Info <info@***.co.uk>"; $to = "Info <info@***.co.uk>"; $subject = "Hi - Test message!"; $body = "Hi,\n\nHow are you?"; $host = "mail.***.co.uk"; $username = "info@***.co.uk"; $password = "***"; $headers = array ('From' => $from, 'To' => $to, 'Subject' => $subject); $smtp = Mail::factory('smtp', array ('host' => $host, 'auth' => true, 'username' => $username, 'password' => $password)); $mail = $smtp->send($to, $headers, $body); if (PEAR::isError($mail)) { echo("<p>" . $mail->getMessage() . "</p>"); } else { echo("<p>Message successfully sent!</p>"); } ?> This works fine. I then created a form in my contact page: Code: [Select] <form name="feedbackform" action="form-mailer2.php" method="post"> <input type="hidden" name="Required" value="Name,Comments"> <p>Name: <input name="Name" size="30"> <span class="formsmall">required</span></p> <p>E-mail: <input name="Email" size="30"> <span class="formsmall">optional</span></p> <p>Feedback/Comments:</p> <p><textarea name="Comments" rows="5" cols="40"></textarea></p> <p><input type="submit" value="Submit" name="submitform"><input type="reset" value="Reset" name="reset"></p> </form> I then used the code based on the php initial example and the code file that would get the form details from the contact page and send to the email address via smtp. I have left the validations in - although if these are no good please feel free to tell me! I will want to put a captcha in but need to look into that yet. Anyway, the code I have created is now this (which is saved in the file form-mailer2.php): Code: [Select] <?php error_reporting(E_ALL); ini_set('display_errors', True); $path = '/home/****/php'; set_include_path(get_include_path() . PATH_SEPARATOR . $path); echo("<p>Sending PEAR Mail.php...</p>"); require('Mail.php'); $mailfrom = "info@***.co.uk"; $mailTo = "info@***.co.uk"; $mailSubject = "Web Feedback"; $mailHost = "mail.***.co.uk"; $mailPort = "25"; $mailAuth = "true"; $mailPassword = "****"; // Get the form fields. $name = $_POST['Name']; $email = $_POST['Email']; $comments = $_POST['Comments']; $reqFields = $_POST['Required']; // I find including the time/date useful for record-keeping. // Note that it is the web server's time/date, not yours // or the sender's. $date = date("l jS F Y, g:i A"); // A simple yet reasonably effective email address validator. if ((!ereg(".+\@.+\..+", $email)) || (!ereg("^[a-zA-Z0-9_@.-]+$", $email))) { $errorMessages .= "<li>Invalid email address: $email</li>"; } // Make sure required fields are filled in. $checkFields = explode(",",$reqFields); while(list($theField) = each($checkFields)) { if(!$$checkFields[$theField]) { $errorMessages .= "<li>Missing $checkFields[$theField]</li>"; } } // If there are errors, display them and a back button. if($errorMessages) { ?> <p>Errors were found on the form.</p> <ul> <?php echo $errorMessages; ?> </ul> <p><input type="button" value="Back" onClick="history.back()"></p> <?php } // No errors, send the message and print out success message. else { // Build the email. $body = " Name: $Name Email: $Email Phone: $Phone ----- Comments ----- $Comments -------------------- $headers["From"] = $mailTo; $headers["To"] = $mailTo; $headers["Subject"] = $mailSubject; $params["host"] = $mailHost; $params["port"] = $mailPort; $params["auth"] = $mailAuth; $params["username"] = $mailTo; $params["password"] = $mailPassword; $headers = array ('From' => $from, 'To' => $to, 'Subject' => $subject); $smtp = Mail::factory('smtp', array ('host' => $host, 'auth' => true, 'username' => $username, 'password' => $password)); $mail = $smtp->send($mailTo, $headers, $body); if (PEAR::isError($mail)) { echo("<p>" . $mail->getMessage() . "</p>"); } else { echo("<p>Message successfully sent!</p>"); } // I would rather redirect to a different thank you page but both of next options don't work when taking out: echo("<p>Message successfully sent!</p>"); //RedirectToURL("thank-you.php"); or header(Location: "thank-you.php" ); ?> Depending on what I change about I either get: The website cannot display the page or a list of undefinable variables. If anyone is able to understand the php and notice where the problem lies I would be so grateful. Thank you. I have a one-page responsive website template with a built-in contact email form whereby I would like to add an upload file attachment provision to the contact form. While I have been able to successfully add two fields (source, URL) to the built-in contact email form, with exception of adding the HTML to the form , modification to the contact email form's PHP files appears to be much more involved whereby I have been unable to find a barebones PHP code I can add to the existing PHP to make this work. I should also add that while I am well versed in HTML, CSS, and Javascript, I am not when it comes to PHP. In brief, I prefer not to replace the built-in contact form with different HTML and PHP for adding a contact form email file attachment. Any suggestions regarding this subject matter are appreciated. Since PHP is not listed under accepted file types for attachment to this post, I can provide download links to the contact email form PHP files from my iHost server for review if need be. The website address to view the HTML source code for the built-in contact form is https://www.seoauditspecialists.com. Apart from my having to add 'enctype=”multipart/form-data”' to the contact form's <form action> line of code, the HTML to add the 'file' field is provided below. Thank you ahead of time.
<div class="form-group"> Can you help me integrate this code :

It just keeps providing the failed delivery message specified in the contact. php file. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Code: [Select] <?php $field_department = $_POST['cf_department']; $field_message = $_POST['cf_message']; $mail_to = 'blah@blah.com'; $subject = 'Website Feedback'; $body_message .= 'Addressed to: '.$field_department."\n"; $body_message .= 'Message: '.$field_message; $mail_status = mail($mail_to, $subject, $body_message); if ($mail_status) { ?> <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> alert('Thank you for your feedback.'); window.location = 'contact.html'; </script> <?php } else { ?> <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> alert('Message failed. I just checked it in online php code checker and comes up with no errors but when uploaded to the site and I got to test the form it goes to mysite.com/contact.php stuck on trailing code
\nReply-To: \"$name\" <$email>\nX-Mailer: chfeedback.php 2.03" ); header( "Location: $thankyouurl" ); exit ; ?>
It has me stumped I can't work it out.
The full code is:
<? /* CHFEEDBACK.PHP Feedback Form PHP Script Ver 2.03 */ $mailto = 'contact@gmail.com' ; $subject = "Contact Form" ; $formurl = "http://www.mysite.com/contact.html" ; $errorurl = "http://www.mysite.com/error.html" ; $thankyouurl = "http://www.mysite.com/thanks.html" ; $name = $_POST['name'] ; $email = $_POST['email'] ; $comments = $_POST['comments'] ; $http_referrer = getenv( "HTTP_REFERER" ); if (!isset($_POST['email'])) { header( "Location: $formurl" ); exit ; } if (empty($name) || empty($email) || empty($comments)) { header( "Location: $errorurl" ); exit ; } if (get_magic_quotes_gpc()) { $comments = stripslashes( $comments ); } $messageproper = "This message was sent from:\n" . Edited by bmbc, 07 June 2014 - 03:54 AM. The attached code works perfect for me. This code displays data from my mysql database in a browser & allows me to edit it, then re-submit it to the mysql database. Again, all of this works great. I was wondering if there was a way way for me to add some code to this existing code that would send me an email with the information in the form when the submit button is clicked? Nothing fancy....I'd just like to get an email based off of the location, for example if the location is changed from "Office1" to "Office2", I'd like the email to go to office2@mail.com. If "Office3" is entered, I'd like the form info to go to office3@mail.com. Is this possible? I have a form on a page which is accessed when a user logs into their account. The form dynamically pulls bits of the users info from 2 tables in a mysql database, Tables (ITEMS) and Table (USERS). Table (USERS) holds the users info (NAME, EMAIL ETC) while Table (ITEMS) hold information about the users items for which they may have several of. When the form page is accessed all the users items from Table (ITEMS) are dynamically shown on the form with several radio buttons at the side of each item. The user can tick certain radio buttonss at the side of each item and click the send button. TRYING TO ACHIEVE... After the form is sent a thank you message is returned on the same page with details of the items and what radios were ticked. An Email of the same is sent to user with info of the items and what radios were ticked. An Email is also sent to me with same info of the items and what radios were ticked. WHAT I AM ACHIEVING SO FAR WITH CODE BELOW: The form page is ok showing all users items, radios, send button etc. The returned thank you page is fine showing items, what radios were checked etc. Even the email part is working sending an email to the user and myself. THE PROBLEM IS THAT A SEPERATE EMAIL IS SENT TO BOTH OF US FOR EACH ITEM THE USER HAS IN THE DATABASE. I JUST WANT ONE EMAIL SENDING TO BOTH OF US DETAILING ALL ITEMS. I realise this is because of the while statement in the call to the database which is looping the below code for each item thus sending an email for each item. What I can not suss out is how to send just the one email with all items on. Tried moving the closing loop bracket all over the place and parts of the code but to not avail. THE CODE: (some unecessary code removed from echo/thank you to simplify) <table width="100%"> <tr> <td class="bodytext"><strong>Name</strong></td> <td class="bodytext"><strong>Ref</strong></td> <td><strong>Status</strong></td> <td><strong>Type</strong></td> <td><strong>Date</strong></td> <td><strong>Extend</strong></td> <td><strong>Feature</strong></td> <td><strong>Offer</strong></td> </tr> <form action="example-this-page" method="post"> <input type="hidden" name="action" value="0"> <input type="hidden" name="id" value="<?php echo $_REQUEST["id"]; ?>"> <?php $sql = "SELECT * FROM ".$TABLES["items"]." I only receive: "From: \ Email: \ Subject: \ Message: " and that's it. How do I fix my PHP and/or HTML code to receive user input from the form? Attached is my existing HTML and PHP code that doesn't send me any "user input" from the form. Thanks to anyone who can help!!
Hi all, Our webhost has upgraded to a more secure mail server and since then all the enquiries we receive from our own website don't have our name to them. For example: Before the mail server was changed our emails from our contactus.php would come in as Joe Bloggs Ltd <"enquiries@joebloggs.com">. With all the usual subject/message. Now it comes through as ourusername@server1.host.com On Behalf Of enquiries@joebloggs.com This wouldn't be a problem, except this happens on any of the successfully registered etc emails which come from our regirstration area on the website (as it uses a very similar script method). So our customers sometimes block the email as its coming from a random address. The script works as so: Code: [Select] $contact_to_email="enquiries@joebloggs.com"; $contact_subject="Alert: "; $contact_from_email="enquiries@joebloggs.com"; $visitor_name_and_email="$visitor_name (" . $visitor_email . ")"; $contact_from_email="$contact_from_name <$contact_from_email>"; $message_subject="Website Enquiry"; //message $headers = "From: " . $contact_from_email . "\r\n"; $headers .= "Reply-To: ". $contact_from_email . "\r\n"; $headers .= "MIME-Version: 1.0\r\n"; $headers .= "Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8\r\n"; mail($contact_to_email, $contact_subject." $message_subject", $message, $headers); I've stripped out input verification etc to make it easier to read. Is there anything I can do to the script above to cure the issue? Ta! Hello, I have coded a contact form in PHP and I want to know, if according to you, it is secure! I am new in PHP, so I want some feedback from you. Moreover, I have also two problems based on the contact form. It is a bit complicated to explain, thus, I will break each of my problem one by one. FIRST:The first thing I want to know, is if my contact form secure according to you: The HTML with the PHP codes: Code: [Select] <?php if ($_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] == 'POST') { //Assigning variables to elements $first = htmlentities($_POST['first']); $last = htmlentities($_POST['last']); $sub = htmlentities($_POST['subject']); $email = htmlentities($_POST['email']); $web = htmlentities($_POST['website']); $heard = htmlentities($_POST['heard']); $comment = htmlentities($_POST['message']); $cap = htmlentities($_POST['captcha']); //Declaring the email address with body content $to = 'alithebestofall2010@gmail.com'; $body ="First name: '$first' \n\n Last name: '$last' \n\n Subject: '$sub' \n\n Email: '$email' \n\n Website: '$web' \n\n Heard from us: '$heard' \n\n Comments: '$comment'"; //Validate the forms if (empty($first) || empty($last) || empty($sub) || empty($email) || empty($comment) || empty($cap)) { echo '<p class="error">Required fields must be filled!</p>'; header ('refresh= 3; url= index.php'); return false; } elseif (filter_var($first, FILTER_VALIDATE_INT) || filter_var($last, FILTER_VALIDATE_INT)) { echo '<p class="error">You cannot enter a number as either the first or last name!</p>'; return false; } elseif (!filter_var($email, FILTER_VALIDATE_EMAIL)) { echo '<p class="error">Incorrect email address!</p>'; return false; } elseif (!($cap === '12')){ echo '<p class="error">Invalid captcha, try again!</p>'; return false; } else { mail ($to, $sub, $body); echo '<p class="success">Thank you for contacting us!</p>'; } } ?> <form action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'];?>" method="post"> <p>Your first name: <span class="required">*</span></p> <p><input type="text" name="first" size="40" placeholder="Ex: Paul"/></p> <p>Your last name: <span class="required">*</span></p> <p><input type="text" name="last" size="40" placeholder="Ex: Smith"/></p> <p>Subject: <span class="required">*</span></p> <p><input type="text" name="subject" size="40" placeholder="Ex: Contact"/></p> <p>Your email address: <span class="required">*</span></p> <p><input type="text" name="email" size="40" placeholder="Ex: example@xxx.com"/></p> <p>Website:</p> <p><input type="text" name="website" size="40" placeholder="Ex: http//:google.com"/></p> <p>Where you have heard us?: <span class="required">*</span></p> <p><select name="heard"> <option>Internet</option> <option>Newspapers</option> <option>Friends or relatives</option> <option>Others</option> </select></p> <p>Your message: <span class="required">*</span></p> <p><textarea cols="75" rows="20" name="message"></textarea></p> <p>Are you human? Sum this please: 5 + 7 = ?: <span class="required">*</span></p></p> <p><input type="text" name="captcha" size="10"/></p> <p><input type="submit" name="submit" value="Send" class="button"/> <input type="reset" value="Reset" class="button"/></p> </form> SECOND PROBLEM:If a user has made a mistake, he gets the error message so that he can correct! However, when a mistake in the form occurs, all the data the user has entered are disappeared! I want the data to keep appearing so that the user does not start over again to fill the form. THIRD: When the erro message is displayed to notify the user that he made a mistake when submitting the form, the message is displaying on the top of the page. I want it to appear below each respective field. How to do that? In JQuery it is simple, but in PHP, I am confusing! I have read around and can't seem to find the right coding for what I need on this forum and some other other forums. I have a contact form (as listed below) and I need 2 locations (Print Name and Title) fields to auto-populate on a separate form (can be a doc, pdf, etc. any form of document which is easiest) and this form can be totally back end and the individual using the form never is going to see the form. It's going on a contract form, that we would like to auto-populate. Also is there a simple attachment code so individuals can attach documents to the code? <p style: align="center"><form action="mailtest.php" method="POST"> <?php $ipi = getenv("REMOTE_ADDR"); $httprefi = getenv ("HTTP_REFERER"); $httpagenti = getenv ("HTTP_USER_AGENT"); ?> <input type="hidden" name="ip" value="<?php echo $ipi ?>" /> <input type="hidden" name="httpref" value="<?php echo $httprefi ?>" /> <input type="hidden" name="httpagent" value="<?php echo $httpagenti ?>" /> <div align="center"> <p class="style1">Name</p> <input type="text" name="name"> <p class="style1">Address</p> <input type="text" name="address"> <p class="style1">Email</p> <input type="text" name="email"> <p class="style1">Phone</p> <input type="text" name="phone"> <p class="style1">Debtor</p> <input type="text" name="debtor"> <p class="style1">Debtor Address</p> <input type="text" name="debtora"> <br /> <br /> <a href="authoforms.php" target="_blank" style="color:#ffcb00" vlink="#ffcb00">Click here to view Assignment Agreement and Contract Agreement</a> <p class="style1"><input type='checkbox' name='chk' value='I Have read and Agree to the terms.'> I have read and agree to the Assignment and Contract Agreement <br></p> <p class="style1">Print Name</p> <input type="text" name="pname"> <p class="style1">Title</p> <input type="text" name="title"> <p class="style1">I hear by agree that the information I have provided is true, accurate and the information I am submitting is <br /> not fraudulent.
