Hi all, I'v table called vehicles with
id (int auto_increment) and
plate_number (varchar 150). the plate_number have records like (a a a 1 1 1 1) (b b b 2 2 2 2), three chars and four numbers spliced by spaces. I'v php search page with url like this:

search about plate_numbet = f f f 5 5 5 5

my php code:

The query result is: There are no results.. But, when I copy the sql statements into phpmyadmin it is works fine. (there is a result). like this:

OR 

SELECT * FROM vehicles WHERE plate_number = 'f f f 5 5 5 5';

Also i used string functions (htmlspecialchars, rawurldecode, ... ), still not work. any suggestion to solve this issue? Thanks to all

I have a really weird problem.

Good Afternoon Team,

Am sitting with something simple using the language below. If I copy the echo output of my query as included below it works perfectly in phpmyadmin but doesn't work on a website. Variables all seem to echo consistently/correctly and POST checks seem to verify this is working correctly as well. I worry the error comes with the syntax I used in combining the sql queries. That, or perhaps LAST_INSERT_ID does not work in the php script as well as it does in phpmyadmin. All help appreciated.

Hello everyone,

I'm having this problem which is really annoying, tried to solve it but couldn't, I write that code in PHPMyAdmin and it works great, but it doesn't work in the website it self

ok long story short, there are three tables, hotels, cities, countries
hotels include in addition to hotel info, 2 columns (city_id) and (country_id)
Cities include id and name and also countries include id and name

what I was trying to do, that when a person inputs a city or country name in the search form, it should get the hotels that exists in this city or country, but unfortunately it shows all the hotels in all cities and countries, although the pagination code for number of pages works just fine, it count the number of hotels in that city or country and show the number of pages correctly

Hi, this query runs fine when I run it from PHPMyAdmin:

My case statement is not working. What happened is that two students got a $markgrade of 61 and 67. So they both should get grade B but instead they both get Grade A. 1 student got 55 which should be grade C but gets grade A. why is it not following the switch statement?

I'm trying to update every record where one field in a row is less than the other. The code gets each row i'm looking for and sets up the query right, I hope I combined the entire query into one string each query seperated by a ; so it's like
UPDATE `table` SET field2= '1' WHERE field1= '1';UPDATE `table` SET field2= '1' WHERE field1= '2';UPDATE `table` SET field2= '1' WHERE field1= '3';UPDATE `table` SET field2= '1' WHERE field1= '4';UPDATE `table` SET field2= '1' WHERE field1= '5';
this executes properly if i run the query in phpMyAdmin, however when I run the query in PHP, it does nothing... Any advice?

I'm testing out small bits of code for myself, and I'm trying to understand why this isn't coming out how I would imagine it to...

I have my function which stores colors in an array from a text file, then I return back a random color from my array like so...

And now in the main program, I simply have this:

For some reason though, my switch statement always reads the default case, making me assume that the words "blue" "red" "green" etc... aren't matching up to what I have set the cases at. When I output what color is actually being read, it displays exactly as it should, so I don't understand why the case "red" isn't opening up when that color is chosen, or same with any of the other colors.

Is there some small conflict I'm unaware of in this tiny practice code? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

For years I have used a simple captcha application displaying a simple combination of letters and numbers. All has worked fine except that my hosting company upgraded some of their servers from PHP 5.2.17 to PHP 5.4.29. The numbers now down't display and I can submit the form without filling any captcha into the text box. On the otherhand, I have a couple of sites on different servers, (same hosting company) using PHP 5.2.17 and the captcha application works perfectly. The code to make the captcha works uses $HTTP_SESSION_VARS and I understand it is deptrecated with newer versions of PHP so I changed to $_SESSION. If I fill out the form and leave the captcha blank it will default to the error message and require a return to the form page to fill in the captcha. Once filled in and the form submitted, it goes to the default message. It appears that the session variable is not passing to the page and recognized.

I have developed a code for a login and seems to work well (No syntax error according to https://phpcodechecker.com/ but when I enter a username and a password in the login form, I get an error HTTP 500. i have been working with a website but only locally. i am now trying to put it online which is ok. when i was working with it locally i have been able to create multiple users which have different privileges to each page. for example i said one of my users can only read and the other can read write.
the problem is when i have went to create these users online i can't seem to find the create user option in phpmyadmin.

i am missing the obvious or will i have to code them in and if so can you direct me to a tutorial which shows me how.

I have two questions:

Question 1: phpmyadmin
If my host does not provide phpmyadmin and I want to install it myself, can I just download phpmyadmin and copy it to my public_html folder or is there another way to install it on my site??

Question 2: Email Script
I have a script that sends an email to a system that sends out multiple sms's. The system works like this, I send an email to an address with an attachment called cellnumbers.txt with a list of all the cellnumbers. I must add a specific subject. When I send the email to my own email address, it comes correctly through. But when it is sent to the address of the server, no sms are received. I attached my script. Please take a look. Your help will be greatly appretiated.

I have used the XAMPP installer to install php and MySQL locall on my computer. I also succeeded in setting the security for XAMPP pages, the MySQL admin user root and phpMyAdmin login. When I enter phpMyAdmin via the link in the XAMPP initial page I do however receive a red notification:

phpMyAdmin configuration storage is not fully configured; some extensions are not activated. To find out click here. I have attached a screenshot showing three items which are not OK, shown in red. Using phpMyAdmin I loaded 6 test records with the id set to auto_increment and it loaded all the data correctly with id # 1-6.

Then from somewhere it got the number 333353 and auto_increments it as the value for the id. So now I have id's 1-6 and 333353, 333354, ect. For every record I add it increments it.

I deleted all but records 1-6 and tried again but it has the last value of 3333xx stored somewhere and increments it. Deleted them again, closed the program, came back and it still does it.

Hi. I having trouble with counting rows in phpmyadmin.

It works fine this way:
