PHP - Php Server Timing And Reset Cookies
I have a ptc site in php
I want that all my ads will refresh at midnight in Pakistani time but server based in USA please let me know how it will happen I have a file name titulos.php and this is code please help me thanks. <tr> <td bgcolor="<?=$highlight?>"> <? require('config.php'); $sqle = "SELECT * FROM tb_ads WHERE user='$last' and ident='$id'"; $resulte = mysql_query($sqle); $myrow = mysql_fetch_array($resulte); mysql_close($con); $time=$myrow['visitime']; $crok1 = date(time()); $crok2 = date($time + (24 * 60 * 60)); if($crok1 >= $crok2) { ?><?=$bold?><a href="view.php?ad=<?=$id?>" target="_blank"><?=$description?></a><?=$boldc?><? } else { ?><del><?=$description?><del><? } ?> </td> <tD bgcolor="<?=$highlight?>"> <?=$members?> </td> <td bgcolor="<?=$highlight?>"> <?=$outside?> </td> <td bgcolor="<?=$highlight?>"> <?=$total?> </td> </tr> Similar TutorialsCan someone propose a solution to resolve the following: I have a PHP script that runs just fine when processing small amounts of data (opening and reading CSV file and performing afew validation checks before saving to db). Issue: when attempting to process a large file, I have found the execution time exceeds the "timeout" value currently set on the server which is 60 seconds. Note: I do not want to increase this time interval as that's a security risk so need to figure out a way to break up the data - being read from the CSV file - into chunks and some way create mini-processes (I guess) to execute chunks of that data at a time until the entire file is read. Any suggestions? I have a login.php that has a usual login form with a username and password textbox and a login button that redirects to index.php. when I login and go to the index.php, the welcome sign is on but after I click on a link that points to index.php itself, the "welcome, <myname>" sign is replaced with "sign in" again (the cookie disappears) even though I put a checking on top of the index.php page.. here's my code in index.php: <?php if ($_COOKIE['activeuser'] != '#') { } else { setcookie('activeuser','#',time()+60*100); } include('connect.php'); //this code connects to my database if (isset($_POST['bLogin'])) { $sql = 'SELECT * FROM user WHERE username = "'.$_POST['tfUsername'].'"'; $sql .= ' AND password = "'.$_POST['tfPassword'].'"'; $result = mysql_query($sql,$con); if($result) { $row = mysql_fetch_array($result); $_COOKIE['activeuser'] = $row['name']; } else { echo 'query error'; } } if ($_COOKIE['useraktif'] != '#') { echo '<div id="welcome">Welcome, ' . $_COOKIE['activeuser']; echo '<br/><a href="logout.php">Logout</a></div>'; } else { echo '<div class="signIn"><a href="login.php">sign in</a></div>'; echo '<div class="signIn"><a href="#">Register</a></div>'; } I'm trying to run 5 php scripts that all run about ~200 MySQL commands each. The basic framwork is: 1.) Fetch a list of names from a table 2.) Names are put in an array, Loop starts 3.) For each name that is retrieved, it is matched with a name on a website (Echo for each name retrieved for logging purposes) 4.) the information retrieved from the website is stored in the table (using UPDATE) 5.) repeated for each name, until the end of the list is reached. And it works, but seldom. When I run these in a web browser, some of the scripts that fetch a larger list of names from the table times out, whereas the shorter lists will succeed in a full update. I've also tried setting these up as a Cron job (I'm using Hosting24 as my host), but the output is no better. The log shows that it runs about 8-9 names before stopping. No error, no nothing. Just end of log. I've tried using set_time_limit(); and have set it to 0 for unlimited, and even tried setting it really high (anywhere between 100 and 900 seconds), but to no avail. Is there anything else I can do? Hi guys, I'm trying to create a script which changes on curtain times, heres a example: 3pm - Dance Session 4pm - Indie Session 5pm - RnB Session What i want the desired outcome to be is Display current time with whats playing (say its 3pm) 3pm - Dance Session Then at 4 i want it to remove the 3pm and display the 4pm - Indie Session Is it possible? If so how? Many thanks for you time guys! I have a quick question about a script I wrote that searches all .jpg images in a directory (and it's sub-directories) and makes thumbnails of them. I am looping through the Domain list and using the below line in my Script: exec('cp -r '.$source.' '.$destination); I am using this in a Foreach Statment, so only the last Even in the loop getting executed, because, the loop is running too fast so the Linux command does not even get initiated, only the last even in loop goes through. What i have done is, i have added a line after exec(); sleep(30); This gives enough time for Linux command to get executed, but is it efficient way to handle timing liek this? Do i need to use time_limit() or something like that? Cheers Natasha For a while now I've been getting intermittent problems with PHP either slowing down or very occasionally timing out for no apparent reason. For the first time it's happened a number of times today and there is an error message in the logs: PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in functions.php on line 4, referer:search.php The odd thing is that line 4 of functions.php only contains: $sess = session_id(); I've never had a problem with PHP that digging around in this forum hasn't solved but this one has me stumped. Anyone got any ideas? It's for a software I developed and is almost complete and know there will be frequent updates to it. Instead of users downloading upates, I want the update files from my server to somehow synchronize to their server automatically? Anything called this?? Thanks for info. Following a tutorial on udemy, i tried to learn the very basics of mvc structure. I built the same project on my local server and it worked without giving me any error. but when i tried it on live server. its not working as it should. not showing any error. I tried to figure out the problem and found that for every page loading, it stops at the same line in my main.php file. <?php require($view); ?> starting from the above line. it stops. i came here to share my problem but i am unable to upload my files here. if there is a way to upload and share my files, please guide. zip file size of the whole project is 31.6 kb This isn't exactly an application design question, but rather a system design one.
I am about to install an Inventory Control System inside this store I work in.
The store itself also owns a Linode VPS running Centos 6.4 which hosts our website.
This new Inventory System will come built in with a Microsoft SQL Server, and supposedly it is a SQL Anywhere database, but I'm not too sure what that means.
I need to make this database publicly accessible, but only via the Linode VPS. Surely, setting restrictions is easy enough to address that issue. That isn't my question.
My first idea is to put this server into the DMZ, easy. But it doesn't exactly sound safe. So my next idea was to put a middleman server in the DMZ, this way the Linode can send queries to that middleman server and it will send that data to the SQL Server and back. This is very vaguely described I know, but I don't want to get too much into details, but rather, understand how I can create that middleman server, and what could Install onto it that would allow me to securely process queries?
My first thought was to install a webservice, that accepts an XML/JSON request and returns an XML/JSON response.
Then, I realized directly afterwards that I don't have any experience setting up a webservice like that.
What kind of options are there out there? Ultimately, my question is, should I just put the Server in the DMZ or should I create the middleman, and if so, can someone point me in the right direction as to getting a webservice set up? Edited by Zane, 15 July 2014 - 11:28 PM. (This might be the wrong forum; it might be server-side configuration, but alas it is the code that *calls* fwrite, so I'll start here.) I have written a script, and one thing it does is generate a file to disk using fwrite. No big deal. Here's what interests me: On most servers, the file is written successfully when the folder's permissions are 755 with recursive permissions. On some servers, 755 fails. Only 777 works. How could this be? Are permissions=permissions=permissions? Why will 755 work on one machine but not another? I'm just a logic guy; I know very little of server-side configuration and/or why there would be a difference here. Just trying to learn. Hey. I am wanting to move a couple of files from my current server to another. If i am uploading the file this is fine but if it is already on the server then im not sure how to move it. When uploading I can just use ftp_put($conn_id, $destination_file, $myFile, FTP_BINARY); What i need to do is figure out how to get a hold of the file and store it in $myFile then this would work fine. Is this possible? Cheers I have an app that connects to a source safe server to perform a command via shell_exec(). I had used exec(), but shell_exec seems to work better since I am on Linux. The command connects to the server and tells it to promote a file to the next level. On Windows this ran without a hitch, but on Linux I gat an error that reads: Quote Socket error when reading request from [172.20.22.1]: 3537808 ; Socket closed. I am told that the reason for this error is that PHP broke the connection to the server before the server completed the job and was able to shutdown properly. The only way I have found around this is to place a sleep(3) to the script. This is really not ideal since that means that there is at least 3 seconds between each command, which can really extend the time it takes to perform if there are numerous files. If PHP breaks the connection before the program can close it will leave the program open and PHP cannot perform any more commands to the server since it is stuck on the last command. If too many are given the machine will lock up due to resources being eaten up. I'm wanting to know if there is a way to tell PHP to not let go of a connection so quickly. I tried "nohup", but that does not help. I am new to Linux and am at a loss of what my options are beyond the sleep() method. I really feel that there has to be a better way or setting that can be manipulated to fix this issue altogether. Thanks in advance for any help.
