Hello every body   Currently I'm facing a new prbel with .htaccess.   I've used this code to remove the .php extention and add a trailing '/' at the end.

Everything is working fine except two things   1) If I use an image location like "www.abc.com/images/abc.jpg" it does'nt show up.. But if I use 'http://' in front of it it shows the image...   2) Suppose I have a directory in my root directory like 'new_folder' which contains an index.php page   If i access like this   www.abc.com/new_folder       -------------------> It gives me 404 error...   But if I use       www.abc.com/new_folder/index.php   ---------------------> it works...     ANy help will be greatly appreciated....   Thank you...

Hi all.

So I was pretty proud of myself because for the first time ever, I actually figured out how to update the .htaccess file without asking for help. 

Here's what I added:

RewriteRule albums/(.*)/(.*)/(.*)/ albums.php?language=$1&searchindex=$2&searchparameterdata=$3
that worked to translate my links to:
http://www.my domain.com/albums/en/music/beatles/
But then.. along came pagination and I'm stumped again.  On clicking my next page, it now appends to the above url like such..

beatles/?language=en&locale=us&page=2&searchindex=music&searchparameter=keywords&searchparameterdata=beatles&
Is this something I can correct in my .htaccess..  keeping the format of my working url and still letting pagination work?

About a year ago I wrote a mod_rewrite in at sites htaccess file.  It was to call a page that queried the database based on a unite code that was assigned to a member.  If the member was assigned a code that was FL1001, the URL www.marketingteammates.com/FL1001 would bring up a page that quaried that member and displayed their database content.   In the users table of the site, it quaried the field webPageID and the information was called.  It called a page webpage.php that quaried the info.  The URL in the address bar still displayed www.marketingteammates.com/FL1001.  Here are the lines of code in the htaccess file.

I now have a second page completely different from the webpage.php.  It is a page storeNumber.php and would query a field storeNumberID.  This field could contain any kind of string such as Store#101, or mystore101, or #101 is my store.   I tried using the same rewite rule just replaceing the webpage.php and variable with storeNumber.php and $storeNumberID.   This doesn't work.  It also leads me to wonder if there can even be two different pages in the mod_rewrite.  How would it diferentiate one from the other.   Thanks for any help in advance.   Mike

Im sorry if this is in the wrong section.


But nonetheless, I use php to display my news:
I.e - news.php?id=1 that displays all the news on that id.



What I want to know is using php how can I get the URL from news.php?id=1 too something like /news/titleofthestory ?

hey guys,   i need a little help on the best way to generate a seo friendly token...at the moment i use password_hash() with a peice of users information to create a key so that the user can verifiy account by a url sent via email.   now the problem i'm having with that is it contains forward slashes which is killer for my uri and not to mention all the other seo friendly characters it conatins.   how do i make the hash url friendly?...any advise would be great   thank you
