PHP - Input Text String To Database Then Print To Image
Hello, I am attempting to create a script where a user puts a text string into a form and clicking on submit. Then it adds that text string to a mysql database and gives the user a link back to it. Something like mysite.com/key.php?id=4 and when going to that link it will display the text string from the database but printed in an image. I wrote something up but I cannot get it to work. I may be a little in over my head. Any help is appreciated.
The way I coded this all to work is the user inputs the information into index.php which givekey.php inserts that into the database. I have not yet figure out how to do this in one single step. After that I wanted it to navigate directly to key.php which would display the key and the link to that page with the ?key=XX attribute.
getkey.php <?php require_once 'dbinfo.php'; // database connection $id = $_GET['id']; // do some validation here to ensure id is safe $link = mysql_connect($servername, $username, $password); if (!$link) { die('Could not connect: ' . mysql_error()); } @mysql_select_db($database) or die( "Unable to select database"); $sql = "SELECT ukey FROM keycode WHERE id=$id"; $result = mysql_query("$sql"); $row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result); mysql_close($link); header("Content-type: image/png"); echo $row['ukey']; ?> key.php <html> <head> <title>Your Key Is Ready</title> </head> <body> <img src="getkey.php?id=1" width="175" height="200" /> </body> </html>index.php <html> <head> <title></title> </head> <body> <section id="mid_section"> <div id="boxes"> <h1> Testing input key </h1> <br/> <form id="myform" action="givekey.php" method="post"> Key:<br /> <input type="text" value="ukey"> Source:<br /> <input type="radio" value="hb">HB<br /> <input type="radio" value="ig">IG<br /> <input type="radio" value="other">Other<br /> <button id="sub">Submit</button> </form> </body> </html>givekey.php <?php include_once('dbinfo.php'); $conn = mysql_connect($servername, $username, $password); $db= mysql_select_db($database); $ukey =$_POST['ukey']; $hb =$_POST['hb']; $ig =$_POST['ig']; $other =$_POST['other']; if(mysql_query("INSERT INTO `keycode`(`ukey`) VALUES ([$ukey]); INSERT INTO `source`(`hb`,`ig`,`other`) VALUES ([$hb],[$ig],[$other]);")) ?> Edited by chrisb302, 13 November 2014 - 12:18 AM. Hi guys I have created a profile page where users can update their profile. what I need to do is to echo back the users details in the inout text I have name and telephone number any ideas how to do it? here is my code <?php session_start(); include ("global.php"); //username session $_SESSION['username']=='$username'; $username=$_SESSION['username']; //welcome messaage echo "Welcome, " .$_SESSION['username']."!<p>"; if ($_POST['register']) { //get form data $name = addslashes(strip_tags($_POST['name'])); $telephonenumber = addslashes(strip_tags($_POST['telephonenumber'])); $query = "UPDATE users SET name = ' $name' WHERE username='$username'"; $result = mysql_query($query); $query = "UPDATE users SET telephonenumber = ' $telephonenumber' WHERE username='$username'"; $result = mysql_query($query); } ?> <form action='updateprofile.php' method='POST'> Company Name:<br /> <input type='text' name='name'><p /> <input type='text' name='telephonenumber'><p /> <input type='submit' name='register' value='Register'> </form> _______ the reason i want to do this is because when user is updating the name field the empty input text for telephone number ovverides the telephone number field in the database. I would aprreciate your help guys, If I wanted to print a string that contains a variable that also contains an array, how would I do so? I want to put the resulting echo into a log file. Example: “These are the books: $userArray and these are the pages: $pagesArray”; With just an array, I can use print_r($array, true) to get an array formatted for use in a string (which works well for my purposes) but this doesn’t work with two arrays unless I do this manually. (Such as setting the $user_array = print_r($userArray). But I want to write a function that will take a string, potentially containing arrays (as variables), and interpolate/make them legible for humans. (Some of the arrays are also multidimensional.) But it looks like I can't even concatenate a string and an array. $string = $string . $array. gives an error, array to string conversion. I don’t understand PHP very well so please explain what is going on here. and the best way to record something like the Example above. I have a database of 100 lines which have echoed onto the page so each line within the database is printed. I would like to limit it to ten. However, I have tried a whole range of different loops but none of them seek to work. Some of them print the database ten times so I have 1000 lines on the page. Can anyone advise the best method of limiting how many lines within a database are printed on the page? String: NodeJs is one of the best technology Quote

How to print the largest even number? Let's assume this is my table Name Amount Gender Stone Cold. 1245. Male Kingsley. 500 Male. Stone Cold 2367 Male Stone Cold. 5678. Male Now I want to print stone cold rows. Which is row 1,3 and 4 just exactly the same format with he above table. How do I get to do that. My code is <?php $id = $_SESSION['login']; $sqlB = "SELECT * FROM activities WHERE username=? ORDER BY No DESC LIMIT 10"; $stmtB = $connection->prepare($sqlB); $stmtB->bind_param('s', $id); $stmtB->execute(); $resultB = $stmtB->get_result(); while($rowB = $resultB->fetch_all(MYSQLI_ASSOC)){ foreach ($rowB as $out) { echo implode(' ', $out) . "<br>"; exit; } } //print_r($rowB); // exit; ?>
I don't understand how to put each row for stone cold into HTML row. Please don't be annoyed by my question, I know its a simple stuff but I've tried several stuffs, I can't get what I need still. If I print $rowB I get all want from the database in arrays. Thanks!!! What I want to do is what is in the shown in the table. I want to only get the Math subject and order the units from unit 1 (UI) to the last available unit in the database; after this, under each unit, to show the homework related to each unit. I have tried to save it into an array with mysql_fetch_array but it stores the row that involves one unit. I want all the units and only the units with their homework under them.
My database is attached to this post in a txt file.
hope someone can help.

Hi i have this edit form that allows user to mofy data but the problems on the text box is that it deletes the rest of the data after the space from the first word i tried to increase the size of the varChars on mysql but did no work why it happens how can i stop from happening?? this the form input <input type="text" name="name" id="name" class='text_box' value="<?php echo $_GET['name'];?>"/> I'd like to use a text editor like this one: http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/examples/full.php for my forums. But I am not sure exactly how I would prevent abuse and injects to messed up the page, rather than being contained in the designated area it is meant for. Could some one please help me, I know htmlspecailchars will not work, since some of the code needs to render as html ok so this problem has been laughing at me for quite some time now I tryed using some inline php in a form to pass it to my login script. The problem is that whenever the form gets submitted the variable r doesn't contain the actual microtime but it contains the inline php as a string: Code: [Select] <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Snitch</title> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="templates/css/snitch1440x900.css" /> </head> <body> <div id="login-achtergrond"> <div id="login"> <form action="." id="loginform" name="login" method="post"> <input type="hidden" name="actie" value="Login"></input> <input type="hidden" name="r" value="<?php echo microtime();?>"></input> <input type="text" id="gebruikersnaam" name="gebruikersnaam" value="" style="opacity:0.7;filter:alpha(opacity=70)"></input> <input type="password" id="paswoord" name="paswoord" value="" style="opacity:0.7;filter:alpha(opacity=70)"></input> <input id="aanmelden" type="submit" name="submit" value="" style="opacity:0;filter:alpha(opacity=0)"> </form> </div> <div id="registreer"> </div> </div> </body> </html> the $_POST['r']; contains "<?php echo microtime();?>" instead of for example: 0.53192500 1305636839 does someone know what I am doing wrong here? I also tryed doing it like this: Code: [Select] <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Snitch</title> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="templates/css/snitch1440x900.css" /> </head> <body> <div id="login-achtergrond"> <div id="login"> <form action=".r=<?php echo microtime();?>" id="loginform" name="login" method="post"> <input type="hidden" name="actie" value="Login"></input> <input type="text" id="gebruikersnaam" name="gebruikersnaam" value="" style="opacity:0.7;filter:alpha(opacity=70)"></input> <input type="password" id="paswoord" name="paswoord" value="" style="opacity:0.7;filter:alpha(opacity=70)"></input> <input id="aanmelden" type="submit" name="submit" value="" style="opacity:0;filter:alpha(opacity=0)"> </form> </div> <div id="registreer"> </div> </div> </body> </html> both $_POST and $_GET contains a string instead of the actual microtime single quotes didn't work eather while($row = mysql_fetch_row($query)) { echo "<tr>"; echo '<td>' . $row[0] . '</td>'; echo '<td>' . $row[1] . '</td>'; echo '<td>' . $row[2] . '</td>'; echo '<td>' . $row[3] . '</td>'; echo '<td>' . $row[4] . '</td>'; echo "</tr>\n"; } Currently I have this code. I would like to make it print certain text, let's say... 'car', if the value of table's column 'automobiles' is equal to 0. Otherwise - print the real value. I've tried if statement and $one = $two... But that apparently didn't worked. Thanks. Well the topic may not sound very explicit. So I'll do my best to explain it here. I have a pull down menu as part of a form, which contains the months of the year. I'm trying to store the value of this form entry using the $_POST['month'] variable into a database but first, I need to convert the month values into their corresponding integer values( that is 1 for January, 2 for February etc), in order to easily do date calculations later down the road. Any ideas about how to do this? It may be helpful to include the code for the pull down menu. Code: [Select] <p><tab> Date of Birth: <?php //Make the month pull down menu. //Array to store months. $months = array (1 => 'January', 'February', 'March', 'April', 'May', 'June', 'July', 'August', 'September', 'October', 'November', 'December'); print '<select name= "month">'; foreach ($months as $key => $value) { print "\n<option value=\"$key\">$value</option>"; } print '</select>'; ?> </tab> <tab> <?php //Make the day pull down menu print '<select name= "day">'; for ($day = 1; $day <= 31; $day++) { print "\n<option value=\"$day\">$day</option>"; } print '</select>'; ?> </tab> <tab><?php //Make the year pull down menu print '<select name= "year">'; $start_year = date('Y'); for ($y = ($start_year - 18); $y >= 1900; $y--) { print "\n<option value=\"$y\">$y</option>"; } print '</select>'; ?> </tab> </p> Hello, I have the following code writting IP,session, and date to a text file (it works) but I want to add a white space after the IP address. fwrite($fp, $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']. $_SESSION["sess_name"]. For a selector such as '.foo.bar.baz', IE6 ignores * all but the final classname (here, '.baz'), and sets the specificity accordingly, counting just one of those classs as significant. To get around this * problem, we use the plugin in SpryMenuBarIEWorkaroundsPlugin.js to generate compound classnames for IE6, such as 'MenuItemWithSubMenuHover'. * Since there are a lot of these needed, the plugin does not generate the extra classes for modern browsers, and we use the CSS2 style mutltiple class * syntax for that. Since IE6 both applies rules where * it should not, and gets the specificity wrong too, we have to order rules carefully, so the rule misapplied in IE6 can be overridden. * So, we put the multiple class rule first. IE6 will mistakenly apply this rule. We follow this with the single-class rule that it would * mistakenly override, making sure the misinterpreted IE6 specificity is the same as the single-class selector, so the latter wins. * We then create a copy of the multiple class rule, adding a '.SpryIsIE6' class as context, and making sure the specificity for * the selector is high enough to beat the single-class rule in the "both classes match" case. We place the IE6 rule at the end of the * css style block to make it easy to delete if you want to drop IE6 support. * If you decide you do not need IE6 support, you can get rid of these, as well as the inclusion of the SpryMenuBarIEWorkaroundsPlugin.js script. * The 'SpryIsIE6' class is placed on the HTML element by the script in SpryMenuBarIEWorkaroundsPlugin.js if the browser is Internet Explorer 6. This avoids the necessity of IE conditional comments for these rules. */ .SpryIsIE6 #MenuBar .MenuBarView .MenuItemWithSubMenuHover .MenuItemLabel /* IE6 selector */{ background-color: #666666; /* consider exposing this prop separately*/ color: #ffffff; } .SpryIsIE6 #MenuBar .MenuBarView .SubMenu .MenuItemWithSubMenuHover .MenuItemLabel/* IE6 selector */{ background-color: #666666; /* consider exposing this prop separately*/ color: #ffffff; } .SpryIsIE6 #MenuBar .SubMenu .SubMenu /* IE6 selector */{ margin-left: -0px; /* Compensates for at least part of an IE6 "double padding" version of the "double margin" bug */ } /* EndOAWidget_Instance_2141544 */ #apDiv2 { position:absolute; left:5px; top:75px; width:591px; height:284px; z-index:2; } #hideShow { position:absolute; left:84px; top:211px; width:506px; height:47px; z-index:2; } #apDiv3 { position:absolute; left:4px; top:354px; width:306px; height:45px; z-index:3; } #apDiv4 { position:absolute; left:82px; top:275px; width:290px; height:34px; z-index:4; } #apDiv5 { position:absolute; left:17px; top:205px; width:861px; height:172px; z-index:2; } .fullname { position:relative; left:0px; width:100px; height:30px; z-index:4; top:25px; background-color:black; color:white; text-align: center; } #apDiv5 #TabbedPanels1 .TabbedPanelsContentGroup .TabbedPanelsContent.TabbedPanelsContentVisible #form1 table tr td { text-align: right; } </style> <script type="text/xml"> <!-- <oa:widgets> <oa:widget wid="2141544" binding="#MenuBar" /> </oa:widgets> --> </script> <link href="SpryAssets/SpryTabbedPanels.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <style type="text/css"> #apDiv6 { position:absolute; left:4px; top:54px; width:162px; height:147px; z-index:3; } </style> </head> <body onLoad="javascript:TabbedPanels1.showPanel(<?php echo $_COOKIE['index'];?>)"> <?php $birthday1 = "$year-$month2-$day"; ?> <div id="apDiv1"> <div id="menu"> <ul id="MenuBar" class="MenuBarHorizontal"> <li><a href="index.php">Home</a> </li> <li><a href="profile.php">Profile</a></li> <li><a class="MenuBarItemSubmenu" href="#">Account</a> <ul> <li><a href="settings.php">Account Settings</a> </li> <li><a href="privacy.php">Privacy Settings</a></li> <li><a href="logout.php">Logout</a></li> </ul> </li> </ul> <script type="text/javascript"> // BeginOAWidget_Instance_2141544: #MenuBar var MenuBar = new Spry.Widget.MenuBar2("#MenuBar", { widgetID: "MenuBar", widgetClass: "MenuBar MenuBarRightShrink", insertMenuBarBreak: true, mainMenuShowDelay: 100, mainMenuHideDelay: 200, subMenuShowDelay: 200, subMenuHideDelay: 200 }); // EndOAWidget_Instance_2141544 </script> </div> <a href="/main.php" onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore()" onmouseover="MM_swapImage('Image1','','/hover.png',1)"><img src="/main.png" name="Image1" width="600" height="50" border="0" id="Image1" /></a> </div> <?php // Process the form if it is submitted if ($_POST['general']) { $city1 = $_POST['city']; $hometown1 = $_POST['hometown']; $about1 = $_POST['about']; $sql = mysql_query("UPDATE general SET city='$city1', hometown='$hometown1', about='$about1' WHERE id='$userid1'")or die(mysql_error()); $message ='Your Account info has been saved'; echo "<font color = 'red'>"; echo $message; echo "</font>"; } // close if post ?> <div id="apDiv5"> <div id="TabbedPanels1" class="VTabbedPanels"> <ul class="TabbedPanelsTabGroup"> <li class="TabbedPanelsTab" tabindex="0">Basic Info</li> <li class="TabbedPanelsTab" tabindex="0">Profile Picture</li> <li class="TabbedPanelsTab" tabindex="0">Sports</li> <li class="TabbedPanelsTab" tabindex="0">Activities</li> <li class="TabbedPanelsTab" tabindex="0">Contact Info</li> </ul> <div class="TabbedPanelsContentGroup"> <div class="TabbedPanelsContent"><form id="form1" name="form1" method="post" action=""> <label for="city"></label> <table width="496" border="0" cellspacing="2" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td width="157" scope="col">Current City:</td> <td width="333" scope="col"><div align="left"> <input type="text" name="city" id="city" value="<?php echo $city; ?>" /> </div></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Hometown:</td> <td><div align="left"> <label for="hometown"></label> <input type="text" name="hometown" id="hometown" value="<?php echo $hometown; ?>" /> </div></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Birthday:</td> <td><div align="left"><?php echo $month;?> <?php echo $day; ?>, <?php echo $year; ?></div></td><tr><td></td><td> <div align="left"><?php //calculate years of age (input string: YYYY-MM-DD) function birthday ($birthday){ list($year,$month,$day) = explode("-",$birthday); $year_diff = date("Y") - $year; $month_diff = date("m") - $month; $day_diff = date("d") - $day; if ($day_diff < 0 || $month_diff < 0) $year_diff--; return $year_diff; } echo birthday($birthday1). Hello i have a system where leaders add members, i want to display a table of members WHERE the 'leader' field equals 'myusername' so that leaders only see members they added. when using the WHERE function i get a database empty as the result but when i remove the WHERE function i get all the data returned Code: [Select] include("system/include/session.php"); $myUname = $session->username; echo "$myUname"; function displayMembers(){ global $database; $q = "SELECT * " ."FROM ".TBL_MEMBERS." I found people looking to do something similar, but the answers seemed more complicated than I would think they need to be. First off, I'm still horrible at arrays and loops so try not to laugh too hard if my code is waaaayyyy off...haha I am essentially trying to tie products and quantities to a reservation. The user has the ability to add items to the form. I'm using jquery .clone to create each new item product and quantity form fields. When the user submits the form jquery inputs the values of the cloned fields into 2 hidden text fields called "productsField" and "quantitiesField" The values of these fields look something like value="1,2,2,1,3" depending on how many products were added. What I want to do is explode both and then enter them into the database. Seems simple enough, but apparently I am not getting it. I thought something like this would work, but it is not. if (isset($_POST["reserve_button"])) { $theReservationID = $_SESSION['createdReservationID']; $items = explode (",",$_POST['productsField']); $quantities = explode (",",$_POST['quantitiesField']); // loop through array $number = count($items); for ($i=0; $i<=$number; $i++) { // store a single item number and quantity in local variables $itno = $items[$i]; $quant = $quantities[$i]; if ($items[$i] <> '') { mysql_query('INSERT INTO reservation_items (reservationID,productID,productQuantity) VALUES($theReservationID,$itno,$quant)'); } } } Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Twitch Hi, I'm creating a PDF document using the FPDF library. All is fine, using a sample image that came with the library. However, I need to get the data for the PDF from a database. The data's fine - the query is performed and the data prints out as I need. However, there's one line which takes a value which is a filepath. When I put that into the following line, I get an error from FPDF: Code: $this->Image($row['imgpath'],10,10,190); Error produced: FPDF error: Image file has no extension and no type was specified: However, if I print out the value of $row['imgpath'] and manually insert it into the code as follows, it works fine: Code: $this->Image('../assets/images/products/5777A.jpg',10,10,190); I've come across this problem once before but can't for the life of me remember what the solution was. It was something to do with how I was reading the value into the code, I think. Can anyone jog my memory, please?? At the moment I collect data from an .XML file and it gets inserted into a database and it works great however the way in which the .xml files work has changed and I need to update my script to accommodate,
before everything was processed by 1x .xml file and i collected data, now its done via 2x .xml files.
So here is my current script;
<?php // INCLUDE DB CONNECTION FILE include("includes/connect.php"); // CHANGE THE VALUES HERE include("includes/config.php"); // URL FOR XML DATA $url = "https://api.eveonline.com/corp/StarbaseList.xml.aspx?keyID=".$keyID."&vCode=".$vCode.""; // RUN XML DATA READY FOR INSERT $xml = simplexml_load_file($url); // Loop Through Names $insertValues = array(); $modifiedTS = date('Y-m-d h:i:s'); foreach ($xml->result->rowset[0] as $value) { //Prepare the values $itemID = $value['itemID']; $typeID = mysql_real_escape_string($value['typeID']); $locationID = $value['locationID']; $moonID = $value['moonID']; $state = mysql_real_escape_string($value['state']); $stateTimestamp = mysql_real_escape_string($value['stateTimestamp']); $onlineTimestamp = $value['onlineTimestamp']; $standingOwnerID = $value['standingOwnerID']; //Create and run ONE INSERT statement (with UPDATE clause) $insert = "INSERT INTO `ecmt_poslist` (itemID,typeID,locationID,moonID,state,stateTimestamp,onlineTimestamp,standingOwnerID,last_modified) VALUES('$itemID','$typeID','$locationID','$moonID','$state','$stateTimestamp','$onlineTimestamp','$standingOwnerID','$modifiedTS') ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE state='$state', stateTimestamp='$stateTimestamp', onlineTimestamp='$onlineTimestamp', last_modified = '$modifiedTS'"; mysql_query($insert) or die(mysql_error()); //ERROR CHECKING OPTION ONLY! //echo $insert; //echo "<br><br>"; }; //UPDATE last time this script ran and insert timestamp into Database $timeNow = date('Y-m-d H:i:s', strtotime('-1 hour')); $insertTime = "UPDATE `ecmt_API` SET time=1, time='$timeNow'"; mysql_query($insertTime) or die(mysql_error()); //Run query to delete records that were not just inserted/updated $delete = "DELETE FROM `ecmt_poslist` WHERE last_modified < '$modifiedTS'"; mysql_query($delete) or die(mysql_error()); ?>and here is the wiki page about the .xml file and its data; http://wiki.eve-id.n...tarbaseList_XML i now need it to collect more data from a 2nd .xml file but the url will include the $itemID of the items pulled by the above script; http://wiki.eve-id.n...rbaseDetail_XML now i guess i need to put the code in the above foreach loop so I can say for each $itemID gather data from the second .xml file and input into a seperate table in my database named: `ecmt_poslistdetails` but i have no idea where to start as the rowset and layout of the 2nd .xml file is different, can anyone help me.. i'm not even sure if I wrote out this post to make sense from someone looking in from outside or not. its hard to explain. but hopefully the links provided will help. Ultimately I hope to have 2 tables in my database ecmt_poslist and ecmt_poslistdetails both containing the data from the above 2x .xml files. |
