PHP - Cookie Not Working Properly Inside Popup Window
Hello,
I have a song streaming website, and i want to set a cookie inside a player popup to avoid that users increment the number of times that an album was played every time they access it.
I want the cookie to last at least 6h, but every time i test the code with 1,2 or 5 minutes it never ends in the time that i specify. For example i want it to last 3min and it may take 5 or 2min to end. Cant figure out why, because i used the same cookie code in a none popup window and it worked.
// player.php (POPUP) <?php session_start(); include("include/player-functions.php"); uniqueAlbumListens($db,$_GET['id']); (...) ?> //player_functions.php <?php (...) function uniqueAlbumListens($db,$id){ if(!isset($_COOKIE["ml".$id])){ updateListens($db,$id); } setcookie("ml".$id, "listens", time()+60*2); // 2minutes -> 60*2 ? || 6h -> 60*60*6 ? } (...) ?> Similar Tutorialswhy aint this working?? Code: [Select] <?php if ($_COOKIE['watch_id']){ $cookie = $_COOKIE['watch_id']; $cookie_query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM user WHERE cookie='$cookie'"); if (mysql_num_rows($cookie_query) >= 1){ ?>
Home

C-Panel

Logout
pass <?php } if (mysql_num_rows($cookie_query) <= 1){ ?>
Register

Login

Home
fail1 <?php } } if(!$_COOKIE['watch_id']){ ?>
Register

Login

Home
fail2 <?php } ?> i have checked in the browser and the cookies match but it always echos fail2 which means that this line is returning false: Code: [Select] if ($_COOKIE['watch_id']){ i have tried using isset but that didnt help either! any help? I'm wondering what makes a pop-up login window run differently than inside a webpage. I can't seem to get my login system to bring the user back to the page (brings them to a page can't be found) when clicking a form submit button when it is included in the webpage. But if your in the popup page that I'm trying to include, it works no problem so I was wondering if it changes anything. Or if there is some sort of work around (such as embedding a popup window into the webpage). Thanks a lot! <?php require_once('upper.php'); $error_msg=''; if(!isset($_COOKIE['LoginIdCookie'])){ if(isset($_POST['submit'])) { require_once('database.php'); $LoginId=mysqli_real_escape_string($dbc,trim($_POST['LoginId'])); $Password=mysqli_real_escape_string($dbc,trim($_POST['Password'])); if((!empty($LoginId)) && (!empty($Password))){ $query="SELECT * FROM registration WHERE LoginId='$LoginId' AND Password=SHA('$Password') AND Flag='A'"; $result=mysqli_query($dbc,$query) or die('Not Connected'); if(mysqli_num_rows($result)==1) { $row=mysqli_fetch_array($result); setcookie('LoginIdCookie',$row['LoginId']); //$home_url = 'http://' . $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] . dirname($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']) . Hi, On a website, there are products nicely listed with name, description, product code, price and a thumbnail etc. Now, if you click on a picture thumbnail, a new page called prodwin.php in a new window opens with the product code and for some reason, there is a "no picture available" alt image for every product. The line of code in it:
<?php if(file_exists("../pics_p/".$HTTP_GET_VARS["PCode"].".jpg")){?><img src="../pics_p/<?php echo $HTTP_GET_VARS["PCode"] ?>.jpg" alt="Product Picture" galleryimg="no"><?php }else{?><?php }?>
The URL of that page looks like this: http://www.lock-tech.co.uk/scrptz/prodwin.php?SCode=CHL8K119S&PCode=CHL8K119S&PDescription=+DOOR%20PATIO%20LOCK&KEY%20SATIN&thePrice=%A328.52%20/%20EA On the other hand, when you click on the product name, it loads a different page called g_browse.php and the product image is nicely there. The line of code in it:
<?php if(file_exists("pics_p/".$array[$getVars["index"]]["PCode"].".jpg")){?><img src="pics_p/<?php echo $array[$getVars["index"]]["PCode"] ?>.jpg" alt="Product Picture" galleryimg="no"><?php }else{?><?php }?>
Code: [Select] $HTTP_GET_VARS["PCode"].".jpg" - Product code + .jpg will give the image name in pics_p folder. a JavaScript block which might also be relavant: Code: [Select] function prodWindow(SCode, PCode, PDescription, thePrice) { var xPos=(screen.availWidth/2)-490; var yPos=(screen.availHeight/2)-116; var s=",top="+yPos+",left="+xPos; var win=open("scrptz/prodwin.php?SCode="+SCode+"&PCode="+PCode+"&PDescription="+PDescription+"&thePrice="+thePrice,'product', "toolbar=no,location=no,directories=no,status=no,menubar=no,resizable=no,copyhistory=no,scrollbars=no,height=414,width=316"+s); win.focus(); } Hope someone spots the problem. I have a simple form and on the same page a link to open a popup window. The client completes the form then click the upload link. In the popup window the client uploads a file. Problem On closing the popup window the main page is refreshed (to indicate the upload was successful) As the form was not initially submitted - All Form Data is then Lost Question Is there a way of submitting the form and opening a popup window at the same time (to preserve the data entered by the client) or is there another fix for this problem ? The first page has a form with a submit button. The forms action goes to a second page called updated.php. In the updated.php page I have the following code (with the cookie right at the top before anything else): <?php setcookie("get_orderID", $get_orderID, time()+5); ?>
etc... Later in this page I have the code to send the original form data to an sql database and then retireve an auto increment value back from the database as follows: <?php if($edit_orderID == 0) { $submit_order_sql = "insert into my_orders (date, name, clientID) values ( \"$date\", \"$name\", \"$clientID\" )"; $submit_order_rs = mysql_query( $submit_order_sql, $conn ); $get_order_sql="select orderID from my_orders where job_no = $job_no"; $get_order_rs = mysql_query( $get_order_sql,$conn ); $get_order_row = mysql_fetch_array( $get_order_rs ); $get_orderID = $get_order_row["orderID"]; ?> Finally I need to send the variable I have found back to the form page (using a cookie). But it seems that as the variable is being created at the bottom of the page, the cookie at the top is not seeing the variable. Can anyone help please?? Thanks. This topic has been moved to JavaScript Help. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=317921.0 Hi All, Prob very simple but here goes. I've a form on a page, which needs a recaptcha field, due to design constraints however, it won't fit. I therefore need it so you fill in the form, click submit, a new window appears with the recaptcha field and a confirmation button. Once you click confirm, the form is processed and the email sent. What's the best way to do this please? The form script has the PHP to handle the emailing side. I have a Php application that already has 2 buttons with input on the index page that perform some functions and output to different Php pages. Works good. How do I add a button with no input that would just perform a function and then just display a popup window showing the contents of a text file? I want to add several of these buttons for different functions and just display the contents of the resulting text files in popup windows. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Hi there, I have created an email script and i want it to email a different email depending on the subject chosen by raido boxes however the if's aren't doing what they should, If i select say recruitement it choses the last option and has the wrong subject here is my code:

 <fieldset> <legend>Contact Us</legend> Your Email:*

Subject:*
Recruitment Enquiry: Absense Notification: General Enquiry
Message:*

 Required fields are marked with a *

<?php if(isset($_POST)) { $email = $_POST['email']; $subject = $_POST['subject']; $message = $_POST['message']; //checcking that all relevent information is entered and correct if(!$email || !$message) { $errmessage ="Please fill in all required fields."; } if($subject="Recruitment") { $to="email1"; } if($subject="Notification") { $to="email2k"; } if($subject="Enquiry") { $to="email3"; } //Sending the email if nothing is wrong if(!$errmessage) { header("location:send.php?to=".$to."&subject=".$subject."&email=".$email."&message=".$message.""); }else{ echo $errmessage; } } ?>

If anyone can help it would be greatly appriciated Thanks, blink359 Okay, so I am trying to make a play.php file connected to my database, this database got a table named "webclientcreate". When I go to play.php?id=1, it is showing the proper one (the 1st row wich got id 1 in it), however if I after that go to something random like play.php?fsfasd the ID 1s page still pops up.. I can also go to play.php?id=2 and still get the id 1's data. I want to make it that every row got its own information (well it does, but the php file doesnt seem to recieve it correctly). PHP version: 5.2.17 MySQL version: 5.1 Heres a picture of my table rows: I've censored the MySQL connection information, I know it is working properly. Code: [Select] <?php $connect = mysql_connect("mysql12.000webhost.com","****","******") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_select_db("***") or die(mysql_error()); $extract = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM webclientcreate"); $numrows = mysql_num_rows($extract); while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($extract)) { $id = $row['id']; $server = $row['name']; $ip = $row['ip']; $port = $row['port']; $background = $row['background']; } if (isset($ip)&&isset($port)&&!empty($ip)&&!empty($port)) { if (! $sock = @fsockopen($ip, $port, $num, $error, 1)) echo ""; else{ echo "$ip on port $port is currently Online"; fclose($sock); } } ?>
Playing <?php echo $server; ?> - ID <?php echo $id; ?>

<applet name=client width=765 height=503 archive='<?php echo $jars; ?>' code='client.class'> <PARAM name='server_name' value='<?php echo $server; ?>'> <PARAM name='ip' value='<?php echo $ip; ?>'> <PARAM name='port' value='<?php echo $port; ?>'> <PARAM name='background_image' value='<?php echo $background; ?>'> </applet>
Hello, I'm having an issue with using a php variable (of the current page url) as a cookies name. Here's an example of what I'm trying to do: Code: [Select] $directory = "/main/index.php?id=7"; $cName = "path_".$directory; if(isset($_COOKIE[$cName])){ echo "Do something NOW!!!"; setcookie($cName, '1', mktime(23,59,59)); } echoing the isset check doesn't return anything, no 0, no 1. I can print_r $_COOKIE; and it shows the cookie exists, I just can't check if it exists with what I'm doing here. From what I've learned is that the cookie name is something like: "testing" it works just fine, but if it's that $cName variable it doesn't work. Any ideas?
