PHP - How To Make Useful Native Apps?

Hello,

My current server setup :

PHP version: 7.1.4
MySQL 5.5.28 
Database client version: libmysql - mysqlnd 5.0.12-dev

I'm using PDO _MYSQL to run database queries. 

From what I read, in order to have MySQL return native datatypes (as opposed to just strings) : 
 

if using MySQLi: set $mysqli->options(MYSQLI_OPT_INT_AND_FLOAT_NATIVE, 1) if using PDO and have mysqlnd:  "mysqlnd returns native data types when using Server-side Prepared Statements, for example an INT column is returned as an integer variable not as a string."

Now, I do have mysqlnd, but a simple PDO Prepared statement still returns me all strings, even though some columns are set as INT, VARCHAR, DATETIME, etc..

I'm not sure what to look for to resolve this issue if I want it to return INT as INT and not STRING, etc. 

Does having `extension_loaded('mysqlnd') == true`,  make my system automatically use this native mysql driver? How can I tell ? Could this be a version problem perhaps?

I was wondering about developing simple client side graphical apps. I was thinking of using php with an ODBC connection to the data store. The data store might be a text file in CSV format or something similar. (maybe even a spreadsheet)! I was wondering what would be a very simple minimally useful web server to run on the client? The client would probably be MS Windows XP/7.   What are your thoughts?

I have 3 different Applications under the same server.
http://myserver/App1, http://myserver/App2 and http://myserver/App3

Please, could you help me to share info between them?

App1 is a "User Admin Application". Here the user should do the login. After the login, the User should be able to open App2 or/and App3
I have tried with SESSION and COOKIES. As I am under the same server, I think, I am doing something wrong. Or SESSION and/or COOKIES doesn't will work?

I have my dns set so that it uses google servers to handle my email.

I have a spf record:
Host:     @
TXT Value:     v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all

However if I want to send mail using the php mail function how do I do this? because it is getting seen a spam because I assume it is not being seen as coming from google servers but from my websites server?... what do I do in this case?

I will suggest to use the native PHP "DOM" Extension instead of "simple html parser", since it will be much faster and easier

I like to set up websites for people who don't have the know how to do it themselves, I mainly set them up wordpress sites cuz thats pretty easy for them to modify and maintain themselves. To save myself time, I decided to learn how to do it with Composer (what a brilliant tool that it). Can anyone who uses composer for this kinda thing, can you post your composer.json files here. Also, if anyone can show me a better way of doing things, it'd be much appreciated. Heres the one I made:

I think I'm doing this in a silly way though. I read about these composer installer things on github, but I didn't figure out how to use them so instead I used the installer-paths key to make the autoloader put the files in the right place. Heres a composer.json file I found which is better cuz it uses a post installation script:

I'm gonna start using these scripts once I figure out how to use them. Where are the scripts stored? I haven't a clue what this autoload thing is all about either, is it a tool for moving files into the appropriate directories? See how the first file gets wordpress from packagist, and the second one gets it from github. Is there a difference? If I was to add that post-install-cmd key to the first composer.json file, would it still work? In other words, do both repositories contain identical packages.

Okay so my news script is set to view only 10 pieces of news. But I want it so that it starts a new page once I have more than 10 pieces of news.

I tried a few things but they failed....miserably.

That is my loop that i check things in. What i'm more interested in is the name if statement.

If currently checks for a name key in an array(below) and makes sure that it is set to required. If it's not set to required, print out a system error and die()'s.

I'm looking for ways to remove the need for program errors and just change them to what is needed to run.

What i know how to do is, get into the inner array, what i don't know is how to edit the data and put it back exactly as it was given to me. The inner array data can be put back in any order, but the outer array must be in exact order as it was given.

I am starting a software development company, Each time someone make a purchase of a software product I wan to include a cd key, I dont know how to include just one cd key... I want to place the cdkeys in a mysql db though which I know how to do, but just the fact of me taking only one cdkey out of it and it can't be used already... it has to go down the line how would I do this?

instead of showing the image, all I am getting is "IMAGES_HEADERheader_02.jpg" where the image should be.

I have a MySql table full of records.

car
location

on my page i have these results in a table i want to set a filter up so the table will only show cars from eg location England.
at the minute its just set to show cars that owner has but i want a location filter any help

So I'm trying to make a counter that counts how many times a record on mysql database has been viewed. Not a hit counter for a webpage. In other words I have a page that displays the info of that record from the mysql database and within that page I would like to display the amount of times it has been viewed. Would anyone know where I can begin or send me to a good tutorial?

Hi I had it on my old site but forgot what I put in the index.php file.

Basicly, I want something like this:

or:

Does anyone know what I put in the index.php file to specify link and where it redirects too?

ok I need to know how to do this

say I have variables.. like so

$a[] = 12345;
$a[] = 23456;
$a[] = 35424;

what do I have to do to get those variables to combine the value? and make that a variable?

so it would be like

$aCompiled = 12345,23456,35424,

puts them in a string then I can use the variable later on in the script..
