PHP - Display Image Inside Custom Field

I have a 3-tables

Hi there!
I am wondering if anyone knows how to handle strings that contain form fields, so when the form is submitted the fields inside the string are updated.

For example say i have the following $string:
Code: [Select]
please enter your username: <input type=text size=50 name=username value=" ">
When I display it on the browser, inside of a form, it displays the blank text field.
Say the user enters a value in the text field, "John", and hits submit.

I need the $string to be updated to the following:
Code: [Select]
please enter your user name: <input type=text size=50 value="John">
I know it sounds wierd but I need the form to be inside of the string!

I am a beginner web designer and a novice php user. I am a regular forum user and understand that you should always do a search and try to find the answer yourself but I have done that and didn't get any results (or I didn't understand them!).

So I ask for some assistance - either you can tell me the code or link me to the correct answer.

I am working on a website that I have built a enquiry form for and it has a php script for it. I have managed to get the form running properly and got the reCaptcha working correctly (with a custom error page) but I do not understand how to add custom error pages for incomplete email addresses, empty email addresses, or for a blank form? I tried using the same tactic I used for the reCaptcha error page but it didn't work - probably because I was guessing and just tried it in a bunch of different places.

The error msg that displays now is just a plain white page with the msg - Email address is invalid appearing at the top left.
While this is suitably functional it doesn't really look like much so I want to build a custom page for each error that could happen.

So the code is below - if anyone can point a beginner in the right direction I would be super happy.  :mrgreen:

I would like to split the field specific location on a page into two fields.

I want keep the same MySQL table for that field but make it possible for visitors to enter 2 separate texts.  This is how the code looks right now:

I am not strong in PHP programming at all, so I tried to copy and paste that field twice, but it only posts one entry out of the two.

Can this be done?

I need bit of help, so I am looking into a plugin created for newsletter where default is it shows ad but it has option to remove ads by checking the check box. Default is to send ads in newsletter but if you don't want to send ads through newsletter then check the box. The problem is, it seems like checkbox selected is not being picked up. Some help would be appreciated.

I would like to echo field names in my table on webpage one by one. I know mySQL has "describe" function which will list the complete table, I am looking for a way to display each field name one by one with other stuff in between them like input field or description.

I am new to the boards and php and mysql.

I have created a database and can add entries via a form. I can query the database with another form and get the results to display in a table.

All good so far as that is what I was hoping to achieve but one of the fields I want to display as a hyperlink but I am having problems with the syntax as I keep getting errors when I try to wrap the variables in  <a href > tag.

so I feel I am nearly there I just need advice as to how to construct a hyperlink from the fields queried.

I need to be able to create an image from user input.  I have found a couple of samples that purport to do that but when I copy the code I can't get it to work.  I would appreciate advice as to what I am doing wrong please.

One example I tried is from a tutorial on this site: http://www.phpfreaks.com/tutorial/php-add-text-to-image

Now perhaps there is something I am doing wrong when I call on the image that is supposed to display but given that I have tried the same code with other images and it works I can't see what I am doing wrong, unless there is something in the nature of scripts that requires some extra steps.  Here is my code to see the image (note that 'myscript.php' in my code is in the same folder as the code I am calling:

I know that there is a way to this with javascript, but I don't know how it would work.  I am much more familiar with php so I figured I would ask here to see if anyone might have a good php solution.

I'm trying to have a form text field display depending on whether or not the user checks a specific box, but I'm not sure where to start.  I've searched around but I didn't find anything that would help.  Basically I want to have a checkbox that asks if the user would like to link their account to an email address.  If the checkbox is selected, a textbox will then appear on the page for them to enter an email address.  Can anyone point me in the right direction on where to start?  Thanks for your help.

I'm trying to display text from a table in a database. It's a list of quotes, so I just need to pull out the quote and the author name. However, the quote and name are not fields in the same record; they are separate records. Example data:

So, I just need to rip out the data from 'content' and 'author', and then group them together based on the quoteid. This is my code thus far:

The goal is to display the table and conditionally format the contents.     Let's forget about the conditional part (thinking if/than but don't know how I'm going to do that yet) and focus on the key problem: displaying the table.   I have tested this code. It works...to a point. it displays the table and its contents but no headers. I know my issue is in line 20 and 22 but I can not for the life of me figure it out. If it is stupidly easy (for you) please remember that I am not a coder. At best I am a scripter when it comes to linux. I am over my head on this stuff.   Thank you all for any help you can give me
