PHP - Help Calculating A Price - Shipping Script

I have a list of id's between 1 - 8 which represents a print size that I need to use to calculate shipping costs, but the calculation that I need to perform is complicated. I will try to explain to the best of my abilities. I also need to query a database table to make sure the shipping rates are always up-to-date

id's <= 4 will ship for $4.95 now matter how many id's are listed. Eg:
1,2,3,4,3,2,4,2,4 will ship for a total of $4.95
will query price db as 1

id's <= 5 will ship for $6.00 now mater how many id's are listed. Eg:
1,3,3,1,2,3,5,5,5,4,3,3 will ship for a total of $6
will query price db as 2

id's <= 6 will ship for $8.00 now mater how many id's are listed. Eg:
1,3,6,1,6,3,5,5,5,4,3,3 will ship for a total of $8.00
will query price db as 3

id 7 will ship for $5 * Quanity + any of the examples above
will query price db as 4

id 8 will ship for $15 * Quantity + any of the examples above
will query price db as 5

the PHP below counts the number of items but not the total quantity (quantity_1) to calculate the value of $shipping. any ideas?

Hi there, I would like to customize $shippingCost in my shopping cart. I follow a tutorial from:

This tutorial using flat shipping rate, how to customize shippingCost based on the product weight ? 

Example: shipping method will based on weight & place within Malaysia:

west malaysia, up to 1kg = rm9
east malaysia, up to 1kg = rm12

west malaysia, up to 2kg = rm12
east malaysia, up to 2kg = rm16

west malaysia, up to 5kg = rm18
east malaysia, up to 5kg = rm32

west malaysia, up to 10kg = rm24
east malaysia, up to 10kg = rm48


Do i need to create a new field inside my database for product weight ? is it $weight * $product_quantity ?  Does anyone know how to accomplish this customization? . Please help because I am very confuse. Thank you in advanced

I am trying to edit my shopping cart page so that i can use a different shipping rate for each country that i ship to. At the minute this is the code i use:

I am working on an e-commerce website on PHP and MySql. The website has products that suppliers can add and edit, which works fine.

Now we are required to create and add a shipping profile to the products. That is, a supplier can set up a profile where he'll specify, for example:

Setting Shipping charges of Product weight
$10/kg for US shipping
$20/Kg for Europe
$25/Kg for Rest of the world.

Once this profile is setup, I would need to attach this profile to a product.

Well, I can create a table named ProductProfile and enter this weight info and how do I go about attaching this to a product.

When I add say: 500 seconds to the current time it adds a whole lot more and I get a number few thousands higher than I want. Can anyone help me???.

I have a form that I will post the code for. In my form I have a few things that need to be filled out.... Age, Gender, Coverage Amount, and Health Conditions.

The Health Conditions are 5 check boxes the user can select.

Now what I'm trying to do is make it so that when the user hits submit the Age and number of Health Conditions checked off will do this...

if # of Health Conditions <=2 and Age is <= 30 then = $0.90

if # of Health Conditions =>2 but <=5 and Age is <= 30 then = $1.20

Then after those are calculated I need these to apply to the code...


- Men are charged a 5% gender risk
- Students receive an 8% discount


Here is a example of what I'm trying to get this to do...

premium amount per $10,000 would be $0.90 * 1.05 * 0.92 = $0.8694. If you wanted to take out a
$150,000 life insurance, your monthly premium would be $13.04 (15 * $0.8694).



I'm doing a life insurance form and these are some of the calculations that need to go into it. I'm not sure how I would code these. If someone could help me get started that would be great.

Not asking someone to do this for me. Just looking for someone to help me get going, and show me how to do this.


Need helping calculating text boxes on a form. I want my form to display the premium of $10,000 health insurance. What I mean by this is that I have a form that involves filling out life insurance information.

This is the table I'm basing this off of...

Hello,

I am having a heck of a time trying to get time right on my website lol  When a user logs in, they select what timezone they are in (UTC -1,-2,-3,-4,-5,-6....)  Now this is great an all, but with daylight savings time my times are off by one hour in either direction.  How do sites like this get times to work for users so easily?

I tried using a for loop but I'm trying to think of a way to calculate interest for a number of years but after I have the amount of interest for one year I'm unsure of how to add the interest to the principle then calculate it again for the next year, to hold that number like $Principle + $Interest = $NewPrinciple then $NewPrinciple + $Interest for multiple years.

Which is supposed to calculate the number of days for delivery, taking into account weekends & with a delay variable that we can set.

It isn't working as expected, may never have worked(??) or maybe down to PHP upgrades.

For example, if today (18th)I set the delay to 2 days the delivery estimate is the 21st (which is correct), if I change the delay to 3 OR 4 it becomes the 24th, 5 then becomes the 26th!

I can't get my head around the code at all, I wonder if someone could assist in what may be going on or add comments to the code snippets so I can maybe work it out?
