PHP - Access Errors Field
Hi,
I am building a restfull service and i would like to out put a error like the following

Or even completely stop it ? My operation system is CentOS 32bit. Hey, Im needing some help with an update form that I have created using PHP/MySQL. Basically the form is working great (updating records, retrieving records and showing errors) but there is a problem with the errors. If there are no errors and I edit the existing text input values, the database updates fine. However if I edit the existing text input values and there is an error, the edited input values dont save, they revert back to the values of the database. I understand why this is happening, its because the text inputs are set to show the values of the database so if i edit the existing values and an error occurs or the page is refreshed, the values revert back to the database values. However id like it so that if any text in the text field have been edited and an error occurs, the text stays to how it is until the user by passes any errors and then the database is updated. Hopefully this makes sense. I have attached the php page just incase anybody wants to look into it but any help would be much appreciated! Also, im not looking for someone to just to fix this for me but if someone knows my problem and can guide me in the right direction, that would be great. This is my first real jump into PHP, I created a small script a few years ago but have not touched it since (or any other programming for that matter), so I'm not sure how to start this. I need a script that I can run once a day through cron and take the date from one table/filed and insert it into a different table/field, converting the human readable date to a Unix date. Table Name: Ads Field: endtime_value (human readable date) to Table Name: Node Field: auto_expire (Converted to Unix time) Both use a field named "nid" as the key field, so the fields should match each nid field from one table to the next. Following a tutorial I have been able to insert into a field certain data, but I don't know how to do it so the nid's match and how to convert the human readable date to Unix time. Thanks in advance!. How do I display the actual errors in IIS 7.5? If I miss a semicolon, I get: "HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error" absolutely useless. Hi: I'm going crazy trying to do the following: I'm making a job registration process where the user registers on one php page to the website, must acknowlege and email receipt using an activate php page, then is directed to upload their C.V. (resume) based on the email address they enter in the active page output. I then run an upload page to store the resume in teh MySQL db based on the users email address in the same record. If I isolate the process of the user registering to the db, it works perfectly. If I isolate the file upload process into the db, it works perfect. I simply cannot upload teh file to the existing record based on teh email form field matching the user_email field in the db. With the processes together, teh user is activated, but teh file is not uploaded. Maybe I've simply been at this too long today, but am compeled to get through it by end day. Hi, I'm developing an app using flash AS2 as the front end via PHP and a mySQL database at the backend on my server. what i'm looking to do is update/insert into a table called 'cards' and at the same time update/insert into another table called 'jingle'. I'm finding it a little tough going but I am making progress, the syntax and coding of it is fine but I don't quite get some theory and the best way to use it yet. It's only my third day in but I have a question relating to access modifiers. It's a simple one, but what is the point? That may sound a bit narky but I keep hearing and reading that it's good programming convention but it's never really explained why. What am I missing? I get how they work but I don't really get why to use them. I've even read that private should only be rarely used, if at all as it makes testing harder and it stops you from being able to extend your classes. I'm not against using them - I want to learn to program to the very best of my ability but I'm eager to learn what benefits it actually has. Is there a technical reason, for example? Hey Guys.
I have a class named CoreCartFunctions. In the class there is a protected property named $menu_item_id which is initialized as null.
A method named GetMenuItemId assigns the $menu_item_id its value. I have tested it out using the following, to see if a value got returned and it did
fb($menu_item_id->GetMenuItemId(), "This is the menu id");The problem is when I access the property from a different public method in the same class it dones't return anything. fb($menu_item_id->DisplayMenuItems());It only returns something when I hard code a value to it.... Hi guys, I am making a site where users upload files (like images, pdfs, etc) to the server. My question is, how does Facebook handle file permissions, restricting access to files uploaded to their servers based on what a user sets? Because I need to implement a similar thing and have no idea how to do it in a clean way. I have had two thoughts on storing the files 1) in a DB or 2) in a folder out of the wwwroot, which would prevent access by anyone without knowing the path (or some such) but it is the more "real" permissions implementation I am stuck on. For example: www.portal.com - this will be a management site that will redirect viewers to the the final destination based on variable info - for exmample $a=123 or $a= 567 - which would come in as www.portal.com?a=123 or www.portal.com?a=567 Note: 123 would redirect to www.abc.com?a=123 and/or 567 would redirect to www.xyz.com?a=567 with said variable(s). ------ My question is this: What is the best method to authenticate (both on) www.abc.com and/or www.xyz.com that the referred viewer came from www.portal.com? I know about the super globals (HTTP_REFERER) but want to know if there are other (more) secure method to manage this interaction between external domains /websites?
