PHP - Subtract Times In Database From Current Time.
Hello, I am trying to subtract the current time from a list of times in a mysql database. The first page inserts the time into mysql.
<?php $var_Time = date("h:i:s"); $mysqli = new mysqli('localhost','root','blah','test'); if ($mysqli->connect_error) { die('Error : ('. $mysqli->connect_errno .') '. $mysqli->connect_error); } $insert_row = $mysqli->query("REPLACE INTO test_table (id, time) Values(NULL, '$var_Time')"); if($insert_row){ while (false); }else{ die('Error : ('. $mysqli->errno .') '. $mysqli->error); } $mysqli->close(); ?>The second page is supposed to iterate through all of the times in the database and subtract the current time, but i cant figure out how to do it. <?php $mysqli = new mysqli('localhost','root','blah','test'); if ($mysqli->connect_error) { die('Error : ('. $mysqli->connect_errno .') '. $mysqli->connect_error); } $query = "SELECT * FROM `test_table`"; $result = $mysqli->query($query) or die($mysqli->error.__LINE__); $var_set_time = stripslashes($row['time']); $var_current_time = date("h:i:s"); $diff = strtotime( $var_current_time .' UTC' ) - strtotime( $var_set_time .' UTC'); echo $diff; ?> Edited by Ch0cu3r, 09 October 2014 - 01:40 PM. I am trying to simulate an ad expiration and carry out an action if the ad is expired. And I cannot get the if/else to work properly... I've tried many variations and I cannot see what I am doing wrong here. Any tips please 3 hours and counting of no solution! $ad_start = time()-14 . "
"; // 14 days from today in the past (negative) echo $ad_start; $current_time = time() . "
"; // current epoch time echo $current_time; $days_past = $ad_start - $current_time; // days past echo "
$days_past days have past since the ad started!
"; if($days_past <= 14) { echo "
Ad is less than 14 days. Not expired."; } else { echo "
Ad is over 14 days. Expired."; } Hey guys, How would I go about subtracting Today from a previous day to find the difference? For example, I want to subtract TODAY from a previous date in my database, to determine if the difference is greater than 1 day. Any ideas? I tried doing the subraction in TIMESTAMPS, but when I convert the date back to Y-m-d H:i:s, I got some weird year and time. Im trying to execute an update sql query, but its not working. IDK if I got the right query tho what i want to do is, when the form is submitted, subtract 15 from the value 'creditleft'. So say the value is 20 , i want to subtract 15 and get 5. Here is the sql query im using; $query2="update userdata set creditleft = - 15 where username = '".$_SESSION['login_name']."'"; mysql_query($query2, $link); I dont get any errors, just no output Hi;
I would like to get the current timestamp but the question is that i want to get the real time which is the machine bios time that can't change by the server administrator and not the server time which can be modified to any value.
Thanks

I'm looking to enter the current time and date into a mysql database using php. My current code looks like this: Code: [Select] $now = date("m/d/y",time()); I then insert $now into the table into a datetime column. This all works but the time when read from the column appears as 0000-00-00 00:00:00. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance. Hi guys, I will like to insert a countdown timer of 5 mins after form has been submitted to a php page. At the moment when they submit the form they see the date and time they submitted: echo date("M d Y H:i", time()) "; Any ideas? Ok, I have a variable ($incubation) set as 04:00:00. Then I have another variable ($starttime) set to the current time. Both are printing out fine. But I'm trying to get an $endtime from adding the incubation time to the start time. Code: [Select] $incubation = $row['incubation']; //IM GRABBING THIS TIME FROM THE DATABASE. It prints 04:00:00 $starttime = date("H:i:s"); //prints 16:23:39 $endtime = date("H:i:s", $starttime+$incubation); //prints 20:00:00 when it's suppose to print 20:23:39 Okay I'm a newbie at PHP but was trying to write a counter for my website to count the amount of times a specific button is clicked. My desired outcome is as follows: If the form submit button "like" or "dislike" is clicked, get user's ip and check to see if it already exists in the database. If it exists, don't increment the count (of either button), otherwise log the ip and increment the count (of whichever button is clicked) by 1. Currently I've got the increment working (testing only the like button at the moment) and I've got the ip being stored into the database, but cannot get the comparison to work. Each time the button is clicked it adds the ip address into the database instead of disallowing it. Note: there are two different tables--one storing the ip (counter) and one storing the like clicks (Designs) (dunno if there's a better way?) Excuse my newbieness. The problem area: (like button only): if(isset($_POST['like'])) { $ip_address = $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']; $query = mysql_query("SELECT ip FROM counter WHERE ip = '$ip_address'"); $num_rows = mysql_num_rows($query); if ($num_rows > 0) { die ("You've already clicked the button!"); } else { mysql_query("INSERT INTO counter VALUES ($ip_address)"); mysql_query("UPDATE Designs SET up = up + 1 WHERE ref = 'cataclysm'"); } } $select = mysql_query("SELECT up FROM Designs"); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($select)) { echo $row['up']; } When I echo the current time, the hour is what it is plus one: echo date("h:i:s:A"); Real time is 3:46:33 Would display 4:46:33 What is wrong here? I have a field called date_time in the database which is of type datetime. I have a form which on submit needs to enter the current date and time in the date_time field. I know I can get the current time using time() $time=time(); Can do I do some kind of manipulation using strtotime() and store in the database in datetime format? Hello, I'm new! I am trying to populate a list of locations based on ratings. I can populate the list just fine but it's displaying every record in the table. Is there a way of only looping 4 times so as to just display the top 4 records? Here's the code: Code: [Select] $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM locations ORDER BY rating DESC"); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { echo $row['name']; echo "
; } Thankyou in advance for any help Hello, im looking for some help if anyone can be of help... i want to read from a file each line of that file, for each line search the database for that line found in the file and return what comes back, but i want it todo this for the whole file which could be up to 500 diffrent lines. what i have so far doesnt work ive tried a number of things including foreach() some of this could i got some somewhere else they said it worked for them. $lines = file("/var/www/htdocs/mp32/playlist.lst"); require('dbconfig1.php');//connect to db script while($n < count($lines)) { //get number of lines in file or array $recipeQuery = mysqli_query($conn1, "SELECT * FROM mp_id3_tags WHERE filename LIKE = '$lines[$n]'"); //query database for each one while($recipeQuery1 = mysqli_fetch_array($recipeQuery)) { print "{$recipeQuery1['artist']}"; } $n = $n + 1; } Hello all, I'm collecting date/time information via a form and would like to convert the info into something that I can stick in my MySql database (a timestamp???). I'm collecting the current month (variable name: month-- of the form "mm"), day (variable name: day -- of the form "dd"), year (variable name: year -- of the form "yyyy"), time of day (variable name: time -- of the form "h:00"), and before or after noon (variable name: ampm -- of the form "am" or "pm"). Any suggestions as to how to change this into a quantity that I can store as a value and then use to compare to other date/times would be appreciated. Thanks! Anyone can help me how to get the time when log.in and the time when log.out then it will store in database... tnx i get this error Warning: current() [function.current]: Passed variable is not an array or object.. for this Code: [Select] $lastblock = current( ${"s".$row} ); print_r($lastblock); when i change to this it works.. Code: [Select] $lastblock = current( $s0 ); print_r($lastblock); The problem is i won't know the $row seeing as it is in a while loop. Solution? I am trying to find a way of deleting entries from a database after a certain time, and also when there is another field in the database set to 0. i have got so far with the code (will delete when other field is at 0) but nothing happens when i try to add in the time. my code im trying to use is below mysql_query("DELETE FROM temp_users WHERE book_stage='0' and WHERE time() > [creation+60]"); creation being the name of the field in the database that holds the unix time stamp of when the entry was created. i need the entry to be deleted one hour after it was created if the book_stage hasnt been changed to 1 during this hour. many thanks, gavin Hello - I've come to an issue with something I'm working on and have searched around with no luck. When editing user accounts I want it to not be able to change the e-mail address into existing ones on other rows, but when submitting the form it takes into account that this particular rows email address is the same as the one which was sent via $_POST and throws up the error. The desired behaviour I want is for it to ignore the ID of the row which was posted, but take into account every other row. Here's the code as it stands at the moment: $email = $_POST['email']; $checkemail = mysql_query("SELECT email FROM users WHERE email='$email'"); } if (mysql_num_rows($checkemail) > 0) { return $this->error("The e-mail address you provided is already associated with an account."); } Hi, I'm wanting to find rows whose date is within the next week of the current month of the current year. The format of the date is, for example: 2010-10-28 Any ideas guys? Thanks lots! |
