PHP - Updating Records Through The Use Of Textbox And Button Inside A Do While

I am trying to create an admin page for a local Gym Club to allow an Administrator to be able to update club prices which then show on different screens on the site.
I have been able to display the "Prices Admin" page which basically reads a MySQL database table (pricelist), display the description, member price and non-member price and allows the user to update any of these fields.
My problem is that when I try writing the data back to the database with the "UPDATE" statement it fails, what I mean is that nothing updates. I have at the moment commented out the actual update statement and put in a "file_put_contents" command" to try and work out what is in the various fields before the UPDATE is run. I find that the display/INPUT works perfectly well but when I do a foreach on the $record array variable I am getting strange results.

I have got myself a bit confused whilst trying to create an 'update selected records' page. In memberlist.php, a set of records is shown, each with a checkbox. When the user clicks on 'Update Selected' it opens up membermultiupdate.php. I cannot get this page to recognise which id's have been passed and put them in an array so only the checked records are shown. The page in question is at http://www.margate-fc.com/memberlist.php. When it opens membermultiupdate.php, there are currently 2 errors.... The shop stocks different colours of each product and the client wants to be able to update the stock levels of all colours of one product (which all share the same title) on one form. Basically the form is working great (updating records, retrieving records and showing errors) but there is a problem with the errors. If there are no errors and I edit the existing text input values, the database updates fine. However if I edit the existing text input values and there is an error, the edited input values dont save, they revert back to the values of the database. I understand why this is happening, its because the text inputs are set to show the values of the database so if i edit the existing values and an error occurs or the page is refreshed, the values revert back to the database values. However id like it so that if any text in the text field have been edited and an error occurs, the text stays to how it is until the user by passes any errors and then the database is updated. Hopefully this makes sense. I have attached the php page just incase anybody wants to look into it but any help would be much appreciated! Also, im not looking for someone to just to fix this for me but if someone knows my problem and can guide me in the right direction, that would be great. Hello,, I have looked for numerous examples, and have only got part of the answer. I have successfully populated a drop down list by reading the database. It populates with a list of quest titles. Once the user selects the quest. I want a textbox to populate with the Quest Description. I found an example that uses AJAX/PHP to do this, but it doesn't access a db to read/populate. The main code is in index.html The original example you select a country, and it populates a text field with the currency code. It passes a variable called $country to another file called find_ccode.php. I changed the first case in find_ccode.php to access my database, and populate the text box with quest description. Ideally I will like to make this case dynamic based off QuestID, would populate textbox with corresponding Quest Description (QDescrip). I then tried the other way in index.php I dynamically populated the dropdown list, and gave the option values the QuestIDs to be passed to $country, but something isn't working. I have a write files command to let me know what the $country variable is passing, and it never writes. It works in index.html though. I apologize in advance for my amateurish coding. I still have a lot to learn. I have included the code below, but if you know a more elegant way of doing it. I am creating a role-playing game, as you probably have figured out by now. I hope to one day put it on the web, but right now using it as a way of learning html, and PHP. I really want to know how to catch the value of the dropdown box. I would like to know what it is before sending over. also what is this.value. I assume this is what the value of the dropdown box is when you have selected something. The problem i am having is that lets say for example the contract table pulls down 3 results, the button next to the snippet for the first result will open the desired pop up. I am trying to make a page that will list all records from a column in HTML table and have a delete button to remove a specific record. There are several fields in the table, among them are Amount_paid and Amount_returned fields. And there are two radio buttons Amount paid and Amount returned and one textBox where I will be entering an amount. What I need is to assign an entered amount to one of those radio buttons (depending which one is selected) and insert the textBox value into the correct field (amount_paid or amount_returned) of the table.
