Similar TutorialsI'd like to write - or acquire - code that displays a simple table (name, phone number, email address, plus a comments field) on a web page in a password-protected page and allows a user to add his own information, update it or delete it. I figure hundreds of people and companies have written something like this so I'd like to find either an example I can imitate or even an existing package that I can simply customize to the specifics for my own table. Can anyone help me with that? Or am I going to have to reinvent the wheel for the gazillionth time and write it myself? I know I could use a SELECT to test for the existance of the $id row. In Perl there is an '0E0', 'zero but true', condition to handle this. Is there an equivilant in PHP? Let's say the user has three files they want to upload. From the usernames that I check, I want to update a field for each of those users. My problem is that the number of checkboxes I check is not going to be static so I am pretty sure I have to run a loop based on the number of checked checkboxes ("People chosen"). But every item node as insert for every 'inspection_type'. What gets put in for the values is my problem. I have tried every way I can think of but I get errors in the code or I don't get the row inserted. Can anyone give me a code sample using $ variables, preferably a multi-line list? I would have to fix up my code to show you what I am trying as it is in between tries now. I have to be doing something wrong and may have to put together a simple test script but a working example would be better. Everything I look at on the web shows "xxxxx xxxx" examples not $variables. If i run the query on phpmyadmin with dummy data it works fine and updates the entry.. Any help would be very much appreciated as i'm at the end of my tether with this!. Thanks in advance. Jo I'm having problems updating my database, I have 4 fields i want to change. I checked all the { on the page, that's not the problem, I tried to echo information from the database and it displayed my information so that's not the problem, i tried yelling at my computer, that didn't work, i tried to input data into the database with the insert function it worked but is not practical in my situation. I'm probably going to face palm when i find out whats wrong, help please btw, the $_SESSION['usr'] was set in another page and works. Now I want to write an equivalent query, but using UPDATE instead of INSERT INTO, but I don't want to write out all the field names/values separately, but again want to use $EXPfields and $EXPvalues.
