PHP - Retrieve The Data From Database And Display It In A Drop Down Menu And Again Use The Same As Form Input In Php

I am trying to convert and old website from mysql database to sqlite. One of the chores it must do is collect information from the database and put it in a list/menu select box on a page so the user can choose which item to pursue.   In the following (incomplete) snippit, I am doing something incorrectly because the sql query does get the proper information (I can put it in a table on the page just fine). But I'm having trouble getting the information into the select options on a list/menu. It appears to be putting them all, one after the other in the first option spot. The last one seems to be the only one of 6 or 7 that shows up.   It's been 10 or 12 years since I've messed with php, so I think I'm way behind... any help would be appreciated.   --------------------------- <form action="sqlPropDisplay.php" method="post" id="Residential">

I am currently creating a form and I want to populate a drop down selection menu with data from two fields in a form. For example, I want it to pull the first and last name fields from a database to populate names in a drop down menu in a form. I want the form to submit to the email address of the person selected in the drop down. Is this possible to do? The email is already a field in the record of the person in the database.

Can anyone give me some pointers or advice on how I should go about setting up the "Select" box drop down? I am not sure how to code it to do what I am wanting. Any links to relevant help would be appreciated too.

I have the following code that generates a table of results from a MySQL query:

As you can see it generates a table containing (amongst other things):
checkboxes:       transcheck1,2........9...etc.
hidden inputs:    transemail1,2........9...etc.

This table is inside a form, so that the above gets posted to another php file. What I now want to do in this 2nd php file, is to retrieve all the checkboxes and hidden inputs and then to display the values of the hidden inputs, where the corresponding checkbox has been checked. So e.g. if transcheck1, transcheck3 and transcheck12 have been checked, then I want to display transemail1, transemail3 and transemail12.

I can see that this should be relatively straightforward, but I'm fairly new to this stuff, could someone pls help me out?

Hi, I have an HTML form with a "submit" button that sends form data to a PHP script.

Firstly, the form doesn't seem to send the data to the PHP script, unless I include a line in the PHP script as follows:
$var1 = $_REQUEST['var1'];

Is this always the case or is there a way to automatically have the form send through data? The reason I ask is because the form includes elements that can be disabled, in which case (if element 'var1' is disabled) the above PHP line returns an error "Notice: Undefined index: var1"

i.e. I want to only send through data from enabled elements and not from disabled elements.

Alternatively, is there a line I can include in the PHP script something along these lines:
if (defined($var1)==FALSE) {$var=" ";} so that when the PHP script tries to retrieve var1, which is undefined because the corresponding form element has been disabled, it sets it to a particular value.

I'm creating a report page and can't figure out how to retrieve multiple rows from a table and display them in html. There are 5 data elements in each row and I'm thinking that using a form in the html might be the best way as I'm totally ignorant about tables in html. I am brand new to php and I don't know where I am going wrong with this.
I would like to have drop down menu which is populated from mySQL and which would allow user to select one option.
The selection would be used on the following page once the form is submitted.

I looked on the internet and it is my understanding that if I comment out the line starting withc "echo" and uncomment the one below the drop down menu should still be populated and the selection would be stored in the $options variable which in turn  could be transfered to databaseinputcheck2.php with
$_POST to be used there, but when I do uncomment that line and comment the echo line out my drop down menu is not populated, what am I doing wrong?

At the moment I collect data from an .XML file and it gets inserted into a database and it works great however the way in which the .xml files work has changed and I need to update my script to accommodate,   before everything was processed by 1x .xml file and i collected data, now its done via 2x .xml files.   So here is my current script;

I have a form on our website that a user can fill out for custom product.  I want the form data to be 1) stored into a mysql database AND after storing said data, 2) email the same data to our sales department.

1)  The form data DOES get stored into mysql database (except for the first two fields, for some weird reason)

2) I added a "mail" section to the php file that stores the data into the database, but it is not working correctly.  I have stripped the email portion down to sending just one of the fields in the "message" to make it easier for troubleshooting

I have included here, both the form section of the html file, and the formdata.php file that processes the data for your  analysis.  I am relatively new to php so there are going to be some issues with security, but I can work on those after I get the store & email process to work correctly.  Please review my code and see if anyone can be of assistance.  I looked through the forums and couldn't find another issue that was the same as mine.  If I just overlooked, please tell me the thread post #.  Thanks

Hi everyone,

On my website i have a drop down box on the account information page that has a list of countries. In the example below, im using the php to do 2 things, 1: if the user changes the country and clicks submit but an error is found on the page, rather than revert back to the original country it stays as the newly selected one. 2: if the user does not change the country, the country from the database is simple displayed.

As you can see below it is taking up quite a bit of code. I was wondering if anybody has any ideas how i can make this smaller?

I'm trying to make it so that someone can add an item to the shop based upon the current items within the database.

How do I go about doing that? I know i have to change <input> to <select>, but beyond that, how do I code it so I can run an array to get all the current items from the table `items` and list them by their `name` field?

Hello my problem here is to have a drop down menu which gathers usernames from the database. Then with a click of a button the information for that specific user selected is shown. Any help is greatly appreciated. 

I am having a lot of trouble with this code, and I have no clue how to fix it.  Right now, I have a GUI for a fictitious car dealership that has 5 populated drop down menus called Make, Model, Year, Color, and Mileage.  What I want the code to do is read the selections made by the user with the drop down menus once the user hits the submit button and then filter the tables that I have in a mysql database to meets the choice requirements of the user.

The code will bring up the GUI, but once I hit the submit button, I get the following errors

Please if anyone can help me that would be fantastic.  I really have no clue
