PHP - Query About How To Retrieve A Password From The Database And Compare To The One The User Has Entered
Hi, after following lots of advice and changing to MySqli I am running into a few probs. This is me just probably missing something stupid, I know what I want, but can't figure out what query I should use and where I should place it. All the queries I have tried have failed.
I just need a query that gets the $current_stored_password from the password field on the database, to confirm the last check

At the moment the message displayed when the form is submitted is

I set a one <form> on every form field I have including the submit button. Now whenever I press the submit button it redirects to insertvalues.php which it should be doing. In insertvalues i told it to query the form data and post it into my database's table. Its not doing that and tells me that it has a database error which i set it to tell me if something goes wrong. One particular mySQL field is VARCHAR I have a query like this: $query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM table WHERE code LIKE '3%') ; It's my understanding this should return all values which begin with "3", but it only returns about a dozen of the values 3, 30-39, 300-399, etc. (It works with string fields, but this field contains numerals.) I have a database with +/- 15 columns. 6 people are using this database. Not all columns are relevant for each user.
So my idea was that each user will be able to make his preference by checking checkboxes for each column -> store this in the database so that when he logs in , his preference will be retrieved and used to make the right query.
second question, how do i make the headers so that they are the same als the preferences from the user ?
Just put me on the right track (or if someone has it on the shelf, post the code)

Hi there! On a page of mine, random tables get generated. The tables consist of 8 characters, so there's 5 . 10^13 possibilities. Yet ofcourse there is a possibility that 2 tables with the same name can be generated, which ofcourse is not desired. So I need an adjustment that can see whether there is already a name that's the same, and if so, make another random name. And if that one also exists, make a new one again. Untill the name doesn't exist yet and it remains. I'm a PHP/MySQL beginner and I really need some help.
I have a small script that I am using for sending SMS. I recently added a phonebook. The problem with the phonebook right now is that it's available to all users, i.e. they can all update and delete all rows. What I would like to do is make it so that each user can update and delete only their own contacts.
I have a table call contacts. Inside that table there is first name, last name, company and phonenumber.
How can I accomplish this with PHP & MySQL?
