PHP - Dynamic Fields Js/php To Mysql Need To Submit Dynamically To The Database

Hi All,

I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm looking to create a form that will submit multiple entries to a MySQL database depending on the options selected on the form. I am able to submit single entries, but the multiple entire is a bit of a mystery to me.

I have attached an JPG image to show an example of how I would like the form to work.

I have also added the description/explination below to this example:

Example 1            
The form was completed and three access types were selected. Thus Three entries, all with the Same Reference number were captured into the database   
         
Example 2            
The form was completed and Two Access Types were selected. Thus Two entries, all with the Same Reference number were captured into the database            
Example 3            
The form was completed and Four Access Types were selected. Thus Four entries, all with the Same Reference number were captured into the database      

Hey--New to the forum, and php.

I have a drop-down list populated by a MySQL database.  Submitting that selection retrieves php scripts which I run using eval().  One of them is a form.  The scripts evaluate fine, but when I submit the second form, it disappears and I get a resource id where the "result" script was.  The resource ids change between 3 and 4 when I refresh the page.

Any hints on what I'm doing wrong?  Here is the main script:

the code below lets me upload a CSV file to my database if I have 1 field in my database and 1 column in my CSV.
I need to add to my db "player_id" from the CVS file and "event_name" and "event_type" from the form... any ideas???

Hello I'm using a small script (that I found online) to dynamically add fields to an order form. It works well with normal text fields but I would like to use it with a select box fields (as it draws data from MySQL).   My problem is, that when the field is 'cloned' it contains the product id and not the product name - which is what the user needs to see.

I know I could use the $p['product'] value in the select box field, but when it is submiitted - it loses its  $p['prod_id'] value which I need to input back into the MySQL database.     I did try

       echo'<option value="'.$p['prod_id'].':'.$p['product'].'">'.$p['product'].'</option>';

and then explode...

    foreach($_POST['name'] as $key => $value) {

        $items[] = current(explode(":", $value));

    }

...but clearly, that is a dreradful solution and looks awful to the user.   Any thoughts, please?   Thank you.

I'm trying to create a table form that pulls in "Extra" choices from a table and allows users to select a number of days and number of guests for each choice. I started creating it a a checkbox field but am thinking just using the name as a label and setting days and guests to default "0" might be a better bet. Guidance from someone more experienced with this? Also, how do I store the submission (db structure - in the "reservations" table, another?). I'm new to this and feel kind of lost with this challenge.

But what seems to happen, is once you submit the form with blank fields, the echo does show, however, when you click submit again, the form submits even though the fields were blank. Is their a way of blocking 'post' if the fields are blank?

I am creating a dynamic field on a button click for Pickup Location. That works fine and submitting the form to the database works fine. However, instead of one entry, each time I submit the form with multiple Pickup Locations, it creates multiple separate database entries.

hello, i'm actually doing a javascript here to create dynamic textboxes when a button is clicked. now my problem is, how to get all the values from these textboxes and save these values altogether in a column on the table..

i know few php coding methods like $_POST in handling values from txtboxes and saving it to database but it doesn't include working with javascript and dynamic textboxes.. and i'm actually doubtful if this is possible..so any help from you guys i would deeply appreciate.

I am quite new to PHP and MySQL. I am trying to figure out what datatypes to use for different fields in a Database. For ID (Identification) I use INT, for  name I use VARCHAR and for people to write text messages, I use LONGTEXT. For date and time I use DATETIME.   What I am unsure about, however, is what type to use for an email adress and for an IP address? I have been watching videos at Youtube about the Datatype for IP addresses, but they don't seem always to agree. I hope someone can put me in the right direction on those two.   Regards,   Erik

Hi all,
I'm brand new to php / mysql and I'm trying to modify this script which currently runs a search on two fields "product_number" and "product_name". I also want the search to consider a third field "product_type". When I remove either product_name or product number from the following part of the code, it removes that field from being considered in the search: Code: [Select]

Now I would like to check whether there are any files in the folder that are not in the database table.

I thought it would be as easy as swapping the array_diff parameters around but it's not.

When i swap the parameters like so - array_diff($images, $clean_fetch) it gives me a list of ALMOST all the images in the image folder, which i don't understand.

Why does it not give me only the images that are present in the folder but not in the database?

a quick print_r() shows the following array while connecting to my database. How to get them as individual items and display on the website ?

I have a relational table call sales with prodcut_id and custmer_id tables. I also have a product and customer tables. products table with product_id as an auto increment and customer with custumer_id I want to join through the sales tables all t he fields of row 1 from tables customer and products and pull it at once.


This is a member login script and I want to display the products by members.

So far I have this query to display the products once the member is login in. $userid is the id of the customer coming from the $userid= $_SESSION['customer_id'];


$mysqlSales="SELECT products.* FROM products JOIN sales ON (products.product_id = procuct_id ) WHERE sales.customer_id = '$userid'";


so far that statement is not working where should I have some type of incoherance with the english statement above expressing what I want the query to do.
