PHP - Dynamic Title Tags Header.php

Similar TutorialsHello All, I am new to php and programming in general. My question is as follows. I have created a header.inc.php and the index.php which includes header.inc.php. I have title set in header.inc.php under the "head". Code: [Select] <title><?php echo $title; ?> In the index.php, I have set variable $title to "Home Page" $title = "Home Page"; But whenever I visit index.php, the title is never called. Is it because the header has no clue where the $title is? I know this topic is everywhere but I cant find a solution to my particular problem. I have been using a download center script for about a year. http://download.redgalaxy.net/ However, the title is static, keeping with the predefined one. I am trying to get the title to change so it matches the file name shown on the display page "index.php/?nav=display&file=25". I have spent days trying to figure something out with absolutely no luck. Does anyone have an idea how to get the title to change when dynamically? Out of desperation i used an onload javascript but it doesnt work with crawlers. Thank you in advanced. I am asking out of curiosity, how does this problem usually get solved, when using a tag system to sort content, and users enter similar tags. For example: flower and flowers... which means the difference between singular and plural. Judging by other sites which are around, this problem is not solved at all, they simply let you add as many tags as you want and then rank the most used tags, it indeed is a solution, but seems more like a walk-around solution to me. Any ideas how somebody could approach to solve this one? EDIT: My suggestion would be an analysis function, which analyzes the entered tag and then suggests the user that similar tags have been already entered and perhaps he wants to choose one of those which have been already entered. This does work though with a high traffic websites what can happen is the following: php and php5 You can end up with two similar tags which are both widely used though have different meanings to the user base. This one could be solved by simply prohibiting similar tags with little additions or changes, and so to speak "forcing" the user to choose something which is already there. May be a way, though it can turn out as a bad solution as well. Do anyone know how i can put the html tags in the same line as the other html tags? Inside the header is the title tag which propogate to all pages. I want title different to each page, I will also add description and keyword. Is there a way to do this with PHP or should I have different header for each page. thank you I've tried mysql_error(), yet nothing is displayed, but I'm pretty sure it may be something wrong with my query.
