PHP - How To Extract A List Of Grapes From A String Using Preg_match

I just managed to login to a forum using curl, but then I found out I had to extract the session id before I could start posting. The session id is in a string like this:

sesc=b97b74351fde8dfbac7391af1f054de9

How do I extract the value b97b74351fde8dfbac7391af1f054de9 if I know that it comes righ behind "sesc=".

I think I am supposed to use strpos, but I don't know.

I have  string like this (without the spaces)

[ QUOTE="Adrock"]This is a test message[/QUOTE ]

How do i get just what is between the double quotes taking into account in the message there could be double quotes?

I've tried this but it doesn't echo anything unless i put the square brackets in but i want the username

$origauth = html_entity_decode($message);

$b = substr($origauth, strpos($origauth, '&#034') + 1); 

$c = substr($b, 0, strpos($b, '&#034')); 

echo $c;

Anyone know a way I could extract information from YouTube. If I have the URL for the video, how could I get the title, runtime, tags and so on into different strings?

I'm having trouble getting a piece of code to work and as a result right now i have bloated code on a simple task.  Currently my code looks like this:

I would like to instead place all my 'spam' words in an array like this

$spam_array = array('test', 'viagra', cialis...etc
If i had all my spam words in an array, how would i write an if statement to check if any of those words appeared in $full_string ?

I am EXTREMELY new to PHP, and coding in general.  I have attempted to search for an answer to this already, but I'm not sure I'm using terminology that will lead me to an solution, as I haven't come up with much.  I'm hoping that someone can provide some assistance, or at least point me in the right direction for some reading. 

What I am trying to do it search a string for a match to any of 12 words.  I'm wondering if there is a smarter way to do this than coding 12 different lines, each one looking for a specific word.

If you can point me in the right direction, then thank you very much =)

So I have been working on my website for a while which all is php&mysql based, now working on the social networking part building in similar functions like Facebook has. I encountered a difficulty with getting information back from a link. I've checked several sources how it is possible, with title 'Facebook Like URL data Extract Using jQuery PHP and Ajax' was the most popular answer, I get the scripts but all of these scripts work with html links only. My site all with php extensions and copy&paste my site links into these demos do not return anything . I checked the code and all of them using file_get_contents(), parsing through the html file so if i pass 'filename.php' it returns nothing supposing that php has not processed yet and the function gets the content of the php script with no data of course. So my question is that how it is possible to extract data from a link with php extension (on Facebook it works) or how to get php file executed for file_get_contents() to get back the html? here is the link with code&demo iamusing: http://www.sanwebe.c...-php-and-jquery thanks in advance.

I need to pass captured data, basically, a list of email addresses that are being read from a CSV file and (1st) saved to an local database, then sent over to an external source via URL string.

I have everything working except - script opens the file, read and validates all emails in the specified column, and saves to local db.

ISSUE: after validating then INSERTING the data into local mySQL db, I need to then pass each piece of data to an external source via URL string.
Example: www.domain.com?email={$new_email}

I was initially think to just add the URL in a header function but, I'm not sure if the HEADER() function the right method to pass all of the data - during the loop - via the URL string.

For example, if the CSV file contain 500 emails:

Q: how can I continue that loop until the last email read, passing each up to the external source via the URL string?

I'm not sure if using the HEADER() function at the end of the script - but within the loop - will interate and send each capture email via that URL string.
Can anyone advise a possible solution to this?

Ok the one I'm having a problem with is the second preg_match when trying to search for two words i can get one word to print but when i use add a second word it gives an error.
How do i add a second word? 

Hi, I have the following code which FTPs to a site, gets the source code for a HTML file and then puts the data inbetween <TITLE> and </TITLE> into an array and this works fine:

Rather than finding a match for data between <TITLE> and </TITLE> however I would like it to pull back what is inbetween the following:

<!--START--> and <!--END-->

I have tried the following but it doesn't put anything into the array:

preg_match_all ('/<!--START-->(.*)<\/!--END-->/msU', $file, $matches, PREG_SET_ORDER);

This is the content of the html file if this helps:

i can get a match on stuff between TITLEs but not START and END.. I'm not sure how to change preg_match_all to work!! i've tried loads of combinations but can't get any to work, but i'm not really sure on modifiers and patterns or escaping etc,  if anyone could help that would be great.

I need to select an array item based on my preg result. for example:
