PHP - Weird Output Of Auto Reply Email Message
I have an auto responder in a php order form with the phrase "Our web sites uses a secure order form for customers to purchase products, and services..." When the message is sent, the word 'services' comes out like this: "...products, and 1s." Each instance of the word 'services' is changed to '1s'. Any ideas?

It's all working perfectly fine, but when the email is received (sent from the online form), and I open my email and click reply, there are two email addresses. The correct one (which I entered when I sent the email), and my ftp username for the site?? I've got three files that could effect this, but I was unable to locate any problems: mailer.php ( smtp send mail class) mail.php ( submission data: title, subject, etc. ) contact_form.php ( form for submission ) I am only including the file which I think is applicable (mail.php), but let me know if you would also like to see the mailer.php class. I've greatly simplified the code below to hopefully help you in helping me. Thanks! Ok, so I'm integrating a very simple message board feature into my site. The basic idea is that people post a comment, and have the option of replying to existing comments. I'm definitely not looking for a complete forum; just something that allows users to post and reply. I've tackled the posting bit easily enough. I have a form. Users fill in the form and the message, along with user information, is sent to a MySQL database. The information includes the username(Poster), the message(Message), an id that corresponds to the topic in question(Messid), a unique ID code for the message itself (ID), and a number of other variables like date and rank. I then use a while statement to bring up all of the messages that pertain to a particular topic; The output will only show messages that share the same Messid, and they are arranged in terms of descending ID: Code: [Select] <? while($row = mysql_fetch_array($resultcomments)) { $poster=$row['Poster']; $message= $row['Message']; $ID=$row['ID']; echo $message.$poster.$ID; } So far, so good. What I want is for users to be able to click on any one of the particular messages, and post a response comment that will appear directly below the message to which it responds. Any ideas how I might go about such a task? So far, I've created a new MySQL table that corresponds to these "subcomments". Each subcomment has a "subID" that corresponds to the ID of the message to which it responds. By including a while statement within the while statement above, I can successfully list all of the subcomments that correspond to a message directly below it. The problem, of course, is that I have to insert the subID values manually in php_my_admin. I'm hoping there's a way for php to automatically detect the ID value of the message in question... Many many thanks for any assistance I can get. Once this revolution in communication makes me a billionaire, I will be certain to reward you most properly. Thanks again. I want to be able to reply to the email of the sender ( of the form ) heres the codes <?php $where_form_is="http://".$_SERVER['SERVER_NAME'].strrev(strstr(strrev($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']),"/")); // Checkbox handling $field_1_opts = $_POST['field_1'][0].",". $_POST['field_1'][1]; mail("harshad@madiganpratt.com","Invitation - Form submission","Form data: rooms: $field_1_opts First Name: " . $_POST['fname'] . " Request your departure date: " . $_POST['field_3'] . " Please send me an ownership package: " . $_POST['field_4'] . " ",$headers); include ("confirm.html"); ?> I am getting the following error message: Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Array callback must have exactly two elements in /Users/studio/Sites/BannerProject/b-as/tio-new/__classes/person_form_edit_initial.php:14 Stack trace: #0 /Users/studio/Sites/BannerProject/b-as/tio-new/index.php(78): require() #1 {main} thrown in /Users/studio/Sites/BannerProject/b-as/tio-new/__classes/person_form_edit_initial.php on line 14 for a line in my code that only has the following code: $person_id = $_SESSION('person_id'); This is a simple array assignment. Where is the "two elements" requirement? I"m confused by the "require() #1 {main}" comment in the message. If it refers to a require call in the index.php file, there are also no functions in that file or a file it requires that require two elements. --Kenoli Everything about the email is sending except the message text does anyone know what the issue could be? here is the block of code that sends the email Thanks in advance Code: [Select] $image = "http://www.visualrealityink.com/dev/clients/arzan/snell_form/images/email.png"; echo "got to process form"; $target_path = "upload/"; $path = $target_path = $target_path . basename( $_FILES['file']['name']); $boundary = '-----=' . md5( uniqid ( rand() ) ); $message .= "Content-Type: application/msword; name=\"my attachment\"\n"; $message .= "Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64\n"; $message .= "Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=\"$path\"\n\n"; echo $path; $fp = fopen($path, 'r'); do //we loop until there is no data left { $data = fread($fp, 8192); if (strlen($data) == 0) break; $content .= $data; } while (true); $content_encode = chunk_split(base64_encode($content)); $message .= $content_encode . I'm using mysql_real_escape_string to escape a string and getting some really weird output. ex. input string = Adobe CS5 output = \0\0A\0d\0o\0b\0e\0 \0C\0S\05 I plugged the string into mb_detect_encoding and it told me it was in ASCII and I did a bunch of searching to find out that \0 is a null byte. The only thing I can't figure out is how to convert it to something that won't give me that garbage when I run it through mysql_real_escape_string. I tried mb_convert_encoding($str,"ISO-8859-1","ASCII") and it didn't do anything. Anyone know something I can try?? I'm not even sure how to explain it. I'm linking a team's roster to its coach. Now I'm getting a weird offset issue when I output the roster. It has something to do with the STATUS. Down below DIV class="roster_player_list", my Status values are 1, 2, 3, or 4, and each is then assigned a word value. My output should look like this (without the arrow and number) : Returning Starter <---- 1 # # # Key Returner <--- 2 # # Varsity Newcomer <--- 3 # # # Key Freshmen <--- 4 # The last "1" (Returning Starter) disappears from my list on both of my test accounts. I should have four Returning Starters instead of three. I've changed a player's status from a 2 to a 1, and the list changed. That player disappeared, the other appeared. Code: [Select] $sql = "SELECT * FROM players as p INNER JOIN schools as s WHERE s.coachFirst='".$current_first."' AND s.coachLast='".$current_last."' AND s.id = p.tid ORDER BY status, playerLast"; $results = mysql_query($sql); echo '<div class="roster">'; $team = mysql_fetch_assoc($results); echo '<div class="roster_team_info">' . $current_first . '</div> <div>Class: ' . $team['class'] . 'A</div> '; echo '</div>'; echo '<div class="roster_player_list">'; $currentStatus = false; //Flag to detect change in status while($player = mysql_fetch_assoc($results)) { if($currentStatus != $player['status']) { //Status has changed, display status header $currentStatus = $player['status']; echo '<br><b>'; if ($currentStatus == '1') {echo 'Returning Starters';} elseif ($currentStatus == '2') {echo 'Key Returners';} elseif ($currentStatus == '3') {echo 'Varsity Newcomers';} elseif ($currentStatus == '4') {echo 'Key Freshmen';} echo '</b><br>'; } //Display player info echo $player['playerFirst'] . When they click the submit button it takes them to the output page. It should take their message and output it into boxes in a square. And the background should turn the color that they types in. This topic has been moved to Ajax Help. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=343888.0 Can there be an auto remove oldest message from mailbox so can always get new.
I see the max is 50, kinda sucks to delete manually to make room for more.
Can't you just limit these to 49 by always removing the oldest one? To ensure can get any new messages.
Hi all I have a script that creates an email message, but I want to add a link to it to take the user to PayPal. Here's my code: $headers = "MIME-Version: 1.0\n"; $headers .= "Content-type: text/html; charset=utf-8\n"; $headers .= "From: '".$_SERVER['HTTP_HOST']." Booking System' <info@".$_SERVER['HTTP_HOST']."> \n"; $subject = "Booking Confirmed!"; $message = "Dear ".$name.",<br /> <br /> This is confirmation of your booking. <br />"; $message .= "<table cellspacing=0 cellpadding=4 border=0>"; $message .= "<tr><td>Date</td><td>Time From</td><td>Time To</td></tr>"; $message .= $tempVar; $message .= "</table>"; $message .="<br />Reservation Status: Confirmed<br/>"; $message .="<br /><br />Kind Regards, <br /> ".$_SERVER['HTTP_HOST']." Team"; mail($email,$subject,$message,$headers); Can anyone help me add a line to the above to add the link in? Many thanks Pete I have a page which contains php scripts for the values that will be send through email. my problem is when i send it, it doesn't read the php script. The body only read plain html text. how can I output my php script values through html Hi I have a problem with parsing a query into the email message. Where messege shuld be a complete resoult of a query. Please take a look on code below: Code: [Select] $message = "\r\n" . 'Order details:' . '<br><br><table><tr><td>Name</td><td>Amount</td><td>Unit</td><td>Price</td><td>Total</td></tr>' . "\r\n"; /// till here is fine $result2 = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM orderslist WHERE supplier='$supplier'") or die(mysql_error()); $data = array(); $data['' . $row2['id']] = $_POST['' . $row2['id']]; $value = $_POST['' . $row2['id']]; while($row2=mysql_fetch_array($result2)) { $value = $_POST['' . $row2['id']]; if ( $value == ""){ } else { $total = $value * $row2['price']; /// this part below i have a problem with do not now how to join this part with the top part ($message) echo " <tr> <td class='H4'><strong>$row2[name]</strong></td> <td class='H4' align='center'>$value</td> <td class='H4'>$row2[unit]</td> <td class='H4'>$row2[price]</td> <td class='H4'>$total</td></tr>"; } } echo "</table>"; I think that has something to do with "\r\n" and dots, but i do not get that fully. If someone could help me on this one will be gratefull. Thank you very much in advance. Hi I built a really simple customer review form https://kickasssoftwear.uk/dev/reviews.html (it's only been optimised for mobile view so far) and it works using the php mail script on this page https://kickasssoftwear.uk/dev/empty2.php - the emails are being sent to me and the format of the emails is OK, and the form redirects to the empty2 page with a mailsent message in the address bar. I know I can leave that page as is and write a nice thank you message in the html - but what I really want to do is have the customers name there too, Thanks 'name' your review has been sent, but I can't get it to work - it's been 4 whole days now and I really need to eat & sleep! Please if anyone has suggestions or advice for a noob, please help. Thanks Hi all, I am just starting out in the world of php and have got this far with a lot of googling. But I'm really stuck with this part now. I have a function that works perfectly for display on a page, eg <?php echo quickquote(); ?> function quickquote() { global $db; global $cart; $cart = $_SESSION['cart']; if ($cart) { $items = explode(',',$cart); $contents = array(); foreach ($items as $item) { $contents[$item] = (isset($contents[$item])) ? $contents[$item] + 1 : 1; } $quickquote[] = 'Quote Required:<br />'; foreach ($contents as $id=>$qty) { $sql = 'SELECT * FROM products WHERE id = '.$id; $result = $db->query($sql); $row = $result->fetch(); extract($row); $quickquote[] = ''.$qty.''; $quickquote[] = ' x '; $quickquote[] = '' . $model . ''; $quickquote[] = ' (' . $type . '- '; $quickquote[] = ''. $basin . '- '; $quickquote[] = ''. $top . ')'; $quickquote[] = '<br />'; } $quickquote[] = 'End of Quick Quote Request'; } else { $quickquote[] = 'The quote cart is empty.'; } return join('',$quickquote); } However, i am trying to include this in an email message: if(!$error) { $messages="From: $email <br>"; $messages.="Name: $name <br>"; $messages.="Email: $email <br>"; $messages.="Phone: $phone <br>"; $messages.="Message: $message <br>"; $messages.="Quick Quote Request: $quickquote <br>"; $mail = mail($to,$subject,$messages,$headers); The email also works perfectly with the exception that the data is not there from $quickquote. I've tried all sorts of variations and suggested solutions from the web but nothing I've tried has been successful so far. It's amazing that I've got this far so I don't want to give up on it, but I'm just completely stumped ... All information and help very much appreciated. Cheers K I have a bit of php code to send me an email when someone logs in to my site. I want to include the person's name and two other bits from my database, but I can't get the formatting correct. I keep getting errors when I try to load the page. Here's the code which obviously has mistakes. The first code works, it's the second one that does not work for the $message line .
