PHP - Add Up Different Data And Posting In Total

I'm trying to figure out a way to post data directly to a URL. For example:

Let's assume $password is 'password'. Why can't I simply pass the information through the URL to access the page with something like this:

Code: [Select]
http://mypage.com/the-same-page.php?pass=password

Hello.  I currently have a web page that allows a user to enter text into a form then select a "Submit Query" button; upon doing this the entered text is saved to a database and displayed for the user on the same page (the page where the form and "Submit Query" button are located).

My question is as follows: I wish the results to be displayed on a new page when the "Submit Query" button is clicked, not displayed on the same page.  Is this achieved through targeting? I am a bit lost at this point on how to achieve this result.

First off thank you very kindly to anyone who can provide some enlightenment to this total php/mysql newb.  I am creating my first database and while I have been able to connect to the database within my php script (or so I believe), the form data does not appear to be actually getting sent. 

I have development experience in other languages but this is completely new to me so if I've missed something that appears painfully obvious like a parse error of some sort, I do apologize.  I am creating a website using Godaddy as the hosting account, and attempting to connect to the mysql database at the following URL (maybe this is where I'm going wrong):

"pnmailinglist.db.4662743.hostedresource.com"

Below is my very simple code:

I used a php from generator to make the form seen on this page:

I need to be able to click on the check boxes and get a dollar amount total in the total field....So if you checked "single", the total field would read $40, and if you checked on "couple", the field would read $50...simple as that...

Is there anyway to make that happen?

I have an html form that sends formdata to a php script called example.php with the POST method.

example.php then has the following structu

So example.php has an embedded html form. How do I specify that some elements of the form should take their values from the variables retrieved at the start of the script via the POST command?

For example, I want select1 to have 'var1' pre-selected and I want input1 to display var2. var1 & var2 get sent through to example.php fine, I just don't know how to get the embedded html form to use them.

I need assistance in finding the code to produce a total of all the subtotals in my shopping cart.  Not sure how to assign an attribute to the table cell because a new row is generated each time a customer adds to cart.

I'm trying to figure out how to add up all the $qty_total that exist into an overall total.

I hope I'm not oversimplifying my example..

I have this: $qty_total = $qty_insert * $d['workshop_price'];

$qty_insert loops several times and I want:

$overall_total = $qty_total + qty_total + ...however many..

I get all the results displayed but how can I echo the total value for for all rows found for under column 'duration' which only contains numbers (seconds).   $query = "SELECT * FROM asterisk_cdr WHERE calldate LIKE '%$calldate%' AND channel LIKE '%$channel%' AND duration";

ok, i had some great help from this forum recently so i hope for the same outcome this time

probably a rather easy question for most of you,

i have a form that visitors use to input date using php (submission_date) in to db. date is then entered in db as a VARCHAR (i.e. Mar-15-2011), what i would like is to have another field which would calculate time elapsed. Since calculation can be only done on date not varchar ( i assume), i would need to have submission date also as a DATE and then passed on to a new field for calculating total time. does that make sense? lol

I would really appreciate any pointers or help with this, not sure if im going in the right direction, but thats a start
