PHP - Optimising Website For Mobile Androds And Iphones

Hi, I am bit confused as never done mobile website. I was thinking we have to use jquery to create a website into mobile.   is it possible we can use only php/mysql and html?   Is it mean that mobile website is smaller version or is it mean we have to use some certain technologies like jquery, html5.   How google/other search engines will know this is mobile version and other is general website for computers.     I was thinking differently but today i donwload free version of mobile website and in coding they only used html css? what about php can we use it too without jquery for database.     sorry to ask realy basic question. I am trying to create a first mobile website.     any advice / hints will be much appreciated.

I have php code that uses mp3 audio files stored in a database for the user to listen to. The page loads and the audio controls work and the files play on a desktop and laptop just fine. When trying to play a file on an android or IPhone, when you press the play (or any other control) nothing happens. It acts like the page is static. There is a home button on the webpage and it works so I know the page is interactive. Below is the code. I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

This isn't so much a problem as my code/page works however my host shut down scripting on the site as too many connections to the database were left open apparently with this page. Also ive been looking into a way of cleaning up the code and making it less bloated but the only thing I have found is mysqli for running multiple queries in one go but I am unsure if this would help.

Please note in the db_con.inc.php is the connection to the database stored in variable $con and included in the footer.php is mysql_close($con)  which is also why I dont understand how connections are being left open, any help greatly appreciated.

Hi guys,

I have a for loop, that queries my database, sometimes, close to 240 times,

I want to minmise the DB access - what would be ideal is if I can query a result set, such as this..

$result = mysql_query($sql,$con);

Is it possible for me to now run a query on $result. Such as

select * from sometable where age >= '24'
So, rather than access the DB over and over again, I just query the result set, which will be much faster.

Any ideas on this one guys?
