PHP - Custom Php Script For Paid Property Listing Website
I am developing paid property listing php website, I do not have al lot of scripting/database experience that is why I am farming this part of the work out. This website will provide a listing service which real estate agents can go to the site and look at the properties. They can search by Zip, city, or Sale by Owner. Alternatively, they can look at all the properties or recently posted. They will be able to see one tiny thumbnail with limited info like zip code/city. In order to see more pictures or get address info they will need to sign up and pay for each property to get more pics/info. So I need the script/scripts to do the following:
1. Provide all the search criteria as listed above (search by zip, search by city, Sale by Owner, Page that populates all the properties) 2. Provide a database interface so that I can upload the pics and enter new entries that will dynamically embed into my site. 3. Provide user access (new and existing) 4. Provide a shopping cart and payment gateway (Provide options for both Paypal and traditional Credit Card payment gateways) which will then allow the user access to the full info. 5. Must be able to integrate into my existing website/CSS If you are wondering if this will work, do not worry. My guy is taking the pics and getting the info has been getting business from real estate agents with this by word of mouth, it will work. It is currently hosted on DreamHost under PHP v.5.6. Since about last month they started pushing me to convert to PHP 7.X. So today they sent me an email that they will automatically convert it to PHP 7.2 on Nov. 18. Thus my question. How different are those versions? I wasn't using any fancy classes or anything like that. There's probably only a library for integration with PayPal and one for SendinBlue. But they are not mine. PS. Also do you know if there's a way to test it such conversion from 5.6 to v.7.2. I don't want to perform all work on a live website. So I would like it as a custom script or as a wordpress plugin. The features a I would like to build a social network. The main to features I’m interested in: 1. Member can join only by invitation. The person that invites another person must write a review about the invited person, add a photo, what he does, share the name and contact: email, phone, city, connected to ( until here all these is mandatory in order for the person to join the network ) and website link ( optional ). Only then the person that is invited will receive an email with a link from where to register his account. ( this only for members that will have the right to invite others. For the other type only the admin has the right to make it from just a member, a member with invitation rights. In this case the member will receive an email with a link registration ). The review of a member can be edited only the member who introduced that person in the network ( and the admin ). In case of any edit there will be a notification for the admin with the original version and the new version. The admin of the site has to allow the modification in order for the review to change. 2. The person that is already in the network can invite a number of … ( this will be fixed and determined by the admin. However the admin can raise the number of invitation for a particular member at his will ). This applies for the 2 types of invitations. There will be 2 types of invitations: to join the network and have the right to invite others OR only member ( no right to invite others ). When a person registers to the network, the one who invited him will have one less invitation for the type of member he introduced ( member with invitation rights or member ). If a member wants to invite more people than his invitation are, then it can purchase invitations ( both types ) for different prices ( example: 1 invitations 10$, 2 invitations – 40$ - value determined by the admin ). So a payment integration is needed ( Paypal ). The exception for all this: if a visitor wants to join the network without any invitation he can only pay his way in. However this option will be displayed on the public pages. After payment confirmation the visitor can be redirected to the register page. Admin will make the account active. A sign “paying member” will be shown on this member profile page. After a member is registered and logs in to his account will have the right to: - Add more photos - Add more website links - Add more details at his contact information - Change his unique number. - Have the option to add members ( both types ) - Add updates to his wall. - Search and contact other members via email. So once you log in to the account there is no restriction ( within the network ) or no difference from what you can do on other social sites. Search: First the search will be done in the reviews and after that on the post that members made. The search results will be displayed in the same order ( the words from the reviews will have priority and after that will be displayed the content from posts – that will be arranged in chronologic order – last one will be the first ). But a member can filter those results – review only or posts only. Sponsored bids will be displayed first. The handshake section: Here you will be notified if one of your “looking for” or “offering” announces has expired. When expired the announcement can’t be find on searches or on your profile page. The notification will be active for 7 days. By active I mean: if you click the notification it will take you to the announcement and there you will have an option – make active ( so that other can find the announcement in their searches or in your profile ) another 30 days. The Admin section: The site will be default “no robots” ( not indexed by search engines ). However an option should be in the admin to switch from off “no robots”. This option will apply only for the internal part – profile pages. The pages and link on the first page ( what is public ) can be indexed by search engines. A simple editor from where you can create pages ( something like the section pages in Wordpress ). Any page you create will appear on the first page. After a period of time a member with invitation rights will receive invitation. Example: after one year you will have an extra one invitation for both types of member. What is needed in the admin: a section from where you can modify this time ( time should be in months and the admin will enter the number – example if he puts 1 – that means after 1 month will receive invitation. There should be 2 sections: one time for members that can invite, and one for members only ). A section where you can limit the number of entries for “looking for” and “offering” The section from where you can edit the html code. An option to send newsletters. You will receive and email if another person contacted you via internal email section. Option to delete members. Im creating a token system where if a user uploads notes they get tokens and can download other peoples notes. My problem is I am not sure where to store the information for who has bought the note for future download. Should I store the information in the database under the table that looks after the notes, in its own table, or in a file that has arrays of the Note names and the users who are allowed to download it. I figured the best way would to have it in the db table that looks after the users but im not sure how I would get about making it so that every time the user bought another note I didnt have to add a new field. I'm sure it's not much, but I'm not understanding something with custom error handlers: I've created a custom error handler, which I initially set when my page loads : set_error_handler(array ( new ErrorHandler(), 'handleError' ));
It seems to catch all internal PHP errors, such as if I: var_dump($non_existing_var); right after the set_error_handler.... Now, I have an object that throws an exception after: set_error_handler(array ( new ErrorHandler(), 'handleError' )); $locale = new \CorbeauPerdu\i18n\Locale(...); // this should throw an exception ... I thought that with an error handler set, I could 'skip' the try/catch for it, but doing so, PHP spits out in its internal log: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught CorbeauPerdu\i18n\LocaleException: ....
My error handler doesn't catch it at all before, thus my page breaks!! If I want it to go through the error handler, I have to init my Locale with a try/catch and use trigger_error() like so:

I have a payment button for PayPal which securely stores the amount, but when the payment is made how do i know if it was paid or not so i can get the page to store this in the mysql database? I have a contact form with a file upload button, when you click on “submit” you are redirected on Paypal everything works fine but, I would like to send the contact form only when visitors have paid on Paypal. Hi! I am working on a web page running a php script to extract from another website water temperatures from around the area. I have been working on this for about a month, and dont know how to do this. Here is where I am trying to grab the data from: http://www.lrn.usace.army.mil/pao/lakeinfo/CEN.htm --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the data I need to obtain: Fishing is reported to be fair. Bass are being caught on spinnerbaits, plastic worms and jigs. Some Crappie are being caught on jigs and minnows. Trout are being taken in the tailwater area. The lake elevation is 633.87 feet above mean sea level. The water temperature is 58.0 degrees on the surface, 50.0 degrees at 10 feet. Ensure all required safety equipment is onboard your boat and in workable condition. I am wanting to do this for a couple of other lakes with the same data format. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!
