PHP - Changing Website Titles With Php
Hi There,
I would like my webpage title to change for each sub-site that I visit say I go to player A I want the website name to say CNGHLDB-Player A and If I go to player B profile it would change to say CNGHLDB-Player B I have the names in my php script so I am assuming it shouldn't be to hard to do the coding for it, but I am not sure how to do it. <title>CNGHLDB</title> </head> <? // Connects to your Database mysql_connect("", "", "") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_select_db("") or die(mysql_error()); //Get PlayerID from URL $iPlayerID = $_GET["PlayerID"]; $iNationID = $_GET["NationID"]; $oPlayerInfo = mysql_query(" SELECT Players.PlayerID, Players.FirstName, Players.LastName, Players.Position, Players.Height, Players.Weight, Players.DOB, CNGHLTeams.CNGHLRights, NHLTeams.Team, Players.CNDraftYR, DraftTeam.DraftID, Players.CNDraftPOS, Countries.Nation, Players.NationID, DraftTeam.DrTeam FROM Players Left JOIN CNGHLTeams ON Players.CNGHLID=CNGHLTeams.CNGHLID Left JOIN NHLTeams ON Players.TeamsID=NHLTeams.TeamID Left JOIN Countries ON Players.NationID=Countries.NationID Left JOIN DraftTeam ON Players.DraftID=DraftTeam.DraftID WHERE Players.PlayerID=$iPlayerID ORDER BY Players.LastName; ") or die(mysql_error()); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($oPlayerInfo)) { Print "<body>"; ECHO "<div align='center'>"; ECHO "<table width='496' border='0'>"; ECHO "<tr>"; ECHO "<td width='148'><div align='center'><a href=\"http://www.cnghl.org/cnghldb/index.php\"><strong>SEARCH PLAYERS</strong></a></div></td>"; ECHO "<td width='152'><div align='center'><a href=\"http://www.cnghl.org/cnghldb/goaliesearch.php\"><strong>SEARCH GOALIES</strong></a></div></td>"; ECHO "<td width='182'><div align='center'><strong><a href=\"http://www.cnghl.biz/history/league.html\">FRANCHISE HISTORY</a></strong></div></td>"; ECHO "</tr> </table> </div> <p align='center'> </p> <p>"; Print "<center> </p> <div align='center'> <table width='700' border='0'> </center>"; Print "<tr>"; Print "<td colspan='3'><h1>".$row['FirstName']." I'm just trying to add a drop-down menu on my website which will turn the prices in USD to other currencies. I'm trying hard to learn but it's too difficult for me at the moment. Here are codes written by someone else which I want to modify and apply to my website. I've tried the second PHP on my WAMP local server but it returns nothing. Both files were in the same folder. I don't know if these codes are correct. I'd appreciate if someone could tell me if the codes are wrong or they just don't work on WAMP server. Sorry the codes are quite long. Thanks in advance. I've been seriously playing with PHP for a few months now and here's what I was wanting to do. On this website there is a list of players currently online http://www.tibia.com/community/?subtopic=worlds&world=Solera Is there anyway I could grab those list of players and store their names into a .txt file? This is just for fun. My actual goal is to create something that's grabbing that list of players every 5 minutes and showing me who has logged off and who has logged on. Hi,
I want to use an external rss in my site but the problem is that i only want to grab feeds that contain certain keywords in the title,
This is what i got so far to display the feed:
<?php $html = ""; $url = "http://www.feedsite.com/conv-rss.asp"; $xml = simplexml_load_file($url); for($i = 0; $i < 5; $i++){ $title = $xml->channel->item[$i]->title; $link = $xml->channel->item[$i]->link; $description = $xml->channel->item[$i]->description; $pubDate = $xml->channel->item[$i]->pubDate; $html .= "<a href='$link'><h3>$title</h3></a>"; $html .= "$description"; $html .= "<br />$pubDate<hr />"; } echo $html; ?>The feed is a classified jobs but i only need the jobs listed for musicians, keywords could be: bassist, singer, drummer, musician, etc.. Thanks I followed this tutorial http://www.dynamicdrive.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28260. Everything is working fine but I cannot get the title on selected page to display. It will only display "Home" for the title on every page. I need this to say the correct title of selected page I am using a header as an include, now I am wondering if there is a simple way, using php, of giving each page a seperate title, instead of them all having the standard title in the header? The code works but the title is repeated with each new set of data. I want the titles set up at the top and never repeating... No idea what is causing it.

I'm creating an edit page that has a many to many relationship between the banners table and the frames table. I hope I've explained everything clearly. So for example I have Quote
Frame 1 Instead of Quote
Frame 1 This is my tables banners table Quote
id | title frames table Quote
id | title | description | image banner_frame table Quote
id | banner_id | frame_id Here is my code $query = "SELECT frames.id as frameId, frames.title as frameTitle, banners.id as banner_id "; $query .= "FROM frames "; $query .= "LEFT JOIN banner_frame ON banner_frame.frame_id = frames.id "; $query .= "LEFT JOIN banners ON banners.id = banner_frame.banner_id"; $banner_frame = mysqli_query($conn, $query); confirmQuery($banner_frame); while($row = mysqli_fetch_assoc($banner_frame)) { $frame_id = $row['frameId']; $frame_title = $row['frameTitle']; $checked = ''; if ($row['banner_id'] == $banner_id) { $checked = 'checked'; } echo "<div class='form-check'>"; echo "<input type='checkbox' name='frames[]' id='frame_checkbox' value='$frame_id' $checked> "; echo "<label for='frame_checkbox'>"; echo $frame_title; echo "</label>"; echo "</div>"; } Edited September 25, 2019 by Chibi Hi peeps, was wondering if anyone could help, i have decided I want to put page titles in to my website at the moment i have a static title which is the business name and slogan, what I want is business name - slogan - page title (E.G home) my title is set in a header.php file which is then included in all pages. any ideas? Hi all Recently designed a site using includes, but only realised when I'd almost finished the project that because the (e.g.) include("includes/header.html"); had the <head> information (titles, meta description, etc) every single page included the same information (by the way hope this makes sense) A way I thought of getting around this was to store each pages title and meta description in a database or in for example or maybe in a variables.php file. But I'm not sure whether this is the best way. I'm not a PHP expert so simple explainations would be very much appriciated. Look forward to hearing from you all. Adi <ul> <!-- List the rest of the articles found in the category --> <?php else : ?> <li class="otherrecentmain"><span class="title"><a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>" title="<?php the_title(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></a></span> <span class="meta"></span> </li> <?php endif; ?> <?php endwhile; ?> <!-- END --> </ul> For some reason, its stuck on displaying 9 articles but I want to be able to control how many I want. I may want to choose 17 or whatever etc, not sure how to add it into the php. I feel like a moron asking this question as it seems to be one of the most common things done with php but I cannot find a tutorial (probably because I don't know the correct wording to search under) on this specific thing.. Anyhow. I'm spitting out a list of the Titles of my test table like so (and its working as expected): <?php $posting_sql = "SELECT * FROM postings"; $posting_results = (mysqli_query($cxn, $posting_sql)) or die("Was not able to grab the Postings!"); while($posting_row = mysqli_fetch_array($posting_results)) { echo "<li><a href='posting_details.php'>$posting_row[title]</a></li>"; } ?> Now as you can see: <a href='posting_details.php'> I am calling a new page, and that page contains this: <h2><?php echo "$posting_row[title]"; ?></h2> <p><?php echo "$posting_row[description]"; ?></p> It's no surprise it's not working (with many variations etc), but I am only familiar with using <form> GET or POST, and these of course are not form elements, so I cant seem to call them the same way. My suspicion (and from the research data I could find) is that I need to pass values in my link: <a href='posting_details.php'> ... I could not get it to work, but I was trying variations like: <a href='posting_details.php?get[title&get[description]]'> but it seems like I am screwing things up even more by doing this.. Anyhow. If anyone could show me a tutorial that covers this specifically or some suggestions on the best approach to this would be much appreciated.. I'm trying to make a League of Legends (a video game) community website, both as a personal project and for practice. Now the game has a lot of champions, each of whom have 5 unique abilities. Now, I thought about manually inputting all the details about each champion into a MySQL database, but that would long and tedious, and I don't really have the time for it now. Also, the game patches very oftern (like, once every 2 weeks) which changes many of the stats, etc. of the champion, and it is not possible for me to keep manually updating these every time there is a patch. Fortunately, there is a League of Legends Wiki which has all the data I need in their specific champion pages, which they keep updated per patch. So I was wondering if there was any way to get the data from the divs in the wiki, and have it display on my site. What I want to do in my website is that whenever someone types a champion's name (in a post or whatever), I want it to display a hover-over dialog with some of the champions details. And a lot of other features such as that. In plain English I need a way to : > Tell PHP to go to the wiki's source code on a specific page > Find a specific div container > Get X data from there > Pass X data into a function to display the hover-over I think this way, I would not have to maintain a database as I can leech off the wiki's data. I have not coded anything like this before, so I would like a few pointers as to how to achieve this. Any help will be appreciated! hello My database is in a same server with seperate domain name , then I want to insert from website1 mysql data on website2 mysql data. can anyone help me? I tried searching on google but couldn't find any relevant information, please redirect me to relevant source or help me with the code. I want to pass a domain name in text field which will be scanned and then the script will display entire site map. Not external links or links on a page. Sorry it is not easy for me to explain. Eg. if i pass abc.com Script will display abc.com/12/adn.php abc.com/asd/asd/ etc Whatever their url format is. All the links on that domain. Is it possible to download files from a website to my online websites root directory? reason I'm asking is because I have been downloading large video files to my computer which take about 20 minutes!! Then I use FTP to upload them to my site but it takes about 2-3 hours per video!! I was looking for a faster way! All help would be great! As I am VERY new to PDO, can someone help me in converting the below 2 codes so that I can setup the testing site knowing at least this part works. Below is the old SQL that I need to convert but don't have to foggiest on where to start. If I can get some help with this I can slowly work through the rest of my site with a bit more ease. LOGIN CODE: <?php if($_POST['submit']){ $Username = protect($_POST['Username']); $Password = protect(sha1($_POST['Password'])); if(!$Username || !$Password){ echo "<center>Please enter your <b>Username</b> and <b>Password</b>!</center>"; }else{ $res = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `eusers` WHERE `Username` = '".$Username."'"); $num = mysql_num_rows($res); if($num == 0){ echo "<center>The <b>Username</b> or <b>Password</b> you supplied is incorrect!</center>"; }else{ $res = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `eusers` WHERE `Username` = '".$Username."' AND Password = '".$Password."'"); $num = mysql_num_rows($res); if($num == 0){ echo "<center>The <b>Password</b> you supplied is incorrect!</center>"; }else{ $row = mysql_fetch_assoc($res); if($row['Active'] != 1){ echo "<center>Your login has been <b>deactivated</b>, Please contact your Manager for assistance.</center>"; }else{ header('Location: secure.php'); $time = date('U')+7200; //2 Hours mysql_query("UPDATE `eusers` SET `Online` = '".$time."' WHERE `id` = '".$_SESSION['uid']."'"); $_SESSION['uid'] = $row['id']; }}}}} ?> ACCESS GRANTED (Each Page): <?php if(strcmp($_SESSION['uid'],"") == 0){ printf("<script>location.href='index.php'</script>"); }else{ $time = date('U')+7200; //2 Hours $update = mysql_query("UPDATE `eusers` SET `Online` = '".$time."' WHERE `id` = '".$_SESSION['uid']."'"); } ?>
Hi, I am changing my ISP and need to import my databases.
Do I I have to create a new datarbase or can I change my database name to import?
My new host has a different database prefix ie: -web147xxxxxxxx
My old one was arewene1_wor1.
Many thanks.
Any chance you could help me out with some probably simple code ? I need to change an image when the script change state. So instead of $Streamstatus "off"or "on" I would like to change an image. Cheers Code: [Select] <?php $request = 'http://api.own3d.tv/liveCheck.php?live_id='; $arg = 'Zerkilive'; $session = curl_init($request.$arg); curl_setopt($session, CURLOPT_HEADER, false); curl_setopt($session, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, true); $response = curl_exec($session); curl_close($session); if (preg_match("/true/",$response, $result)) { $streamStatus="on"; $color="green"; } else { $streamStatus="off"; $color="red"; } echo $streamStatus; ?> Hi Guys, I have a list of branches in a database table with the following collumns, Ter BranchName BranchAddress BranchTel BranchEmail BranchLink Ter = Terriotory ID However every time i update a branch using the edit.php code it always sets the Ter as 1 again! Rather than leaving it the same. The actual field is read-only to prevent that from happening. It then always comes up with the error Duplicate entry '1' for key 1 but thats because there is already a branch with Ter=1 include('config.php'); if (isset($_GET['Ter']) ) { $ter = (int) $_GET['Ter']; if (isset($_POST['submitted'])) { foreach($_POST AS $key => $value) { $_POST[$key] = mysql_real_escape_string($value); } $sql = "UPDATE `ter` SET `Ter` = `BranchName` = '{$_POST['BranchName']}' , `BranchAddress` = '{$_POST['BranchAddress']}' , `BranchTel` = '{$_POST['BranchTel']}' , `BranchEmail` = '{$_POST['BranchEmail']}' , `BranchLink` = '{$_POST['BranchLink']}' WHERE `Ter` = '$ter' "; mysql_query($sql) or die(mysql_error()); echo (mysql_affected_rows()) ? "Edited Branch.<br />" : "Nothing changed. <br />"; } $row = mysql_fetch_array ( mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `ter` WHERE `Ter` = '$ter' ")); <form action='' method='POST'> <p><b>Territory:</b><br /><input name='Ter' type='text' value='<?= stripslashes($row['Ter']) ?>' size="3" readonly="readonly" /> <p><b>Branch Name:</b><br /><input name='BranchName' type='text' value='<?= stripslashes($row['BranchName']) ?>' size="50" /> <p><b>Address:</b><br /> <textarea name="BranchAddress" cols="40" rows="5"><?= stripslashes($row['BranchAddress']) ?></textarea> <p><b>Telephone:</b><br /><input name='BranchTel' type='text' value='<?= stripslashes($row['BranchTel']) ?>' size="15" /> <p><b>Email:</b><br /><input name='BranchEmail' type='text' value='<?= stripslashes($row['BranchEmail']) ?>' size="50" /> <p><b>Link:</b><br /><input name='BranchLink' type='text' value='<?= stripslashes($row['BranchLink']) ?>' size="50" /> <p><input type='submit' value='Save' /><input type='hidden' value='1' name='submitted' /> </form> <? } ?> Any Ideas?
