PHP - Count Each Time The Function Runs
Write a function Counter() that keeps track of the number of times it is called. This function should not take any parameters and return the number of times that it has been called.
Similar TutorialsI have this function and for some reason it is running over 100 queries on page load. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. Can I please get some guidance on this? Code: [Select] <?php function fetch_users($page = 1, $per_page = 20, $type = null, $country = null, $state = null) { $start = (int)(($page - 1) * $per_page); $per_page = (int)$per_page; $type = (int)$type; $country = (int)$country; $state = (int)$state; $sql = "SELECT `users`.`id`, `users`.`firstname`, `users`.`lastname`, `users`.`username`, `users`.`email`, `users`.`gender`, `users`.`accounttype`, `users`.`personalweb`, `users`.`guestviews`, `users`.`iviews`, `users`.`eviews`, `users`.`credentials`, `users`.`specialties`, `users`.`country`, `users`.`city`, `users`.`state`, `users`.`phonenumber`, `users`.`dateofbirth` AS `dob`, `users`.`mail_status`, `users`.`status`, `investor_info`.`investor_type`, DATE_FORMAT(`users`.`dateofbirth`,'%D') AS `dayofbirth`, DATE_FORMAT(`users`.`dateofbirth`,'%c') AS `monthofbirth`, DATE_FORMAT(`users`.`dateofbirth`,'%Y') AS `yearofbirth`, DATE_FORMAT(`users`.`dateofbirth`,'%D \of %M %Y') AS `dateofbirth`, DATE_FORMAT(`users`.`signupdate`,'%h:%i %p %M %e, %Y') AS `signupdate`, SUM(`investor_info`.`capital_available`) AS `totalavailable`, `companytype`, `capital` FROM `users` LEFT JOIN `investor_info` ON `users`.`id` = `investor_info`.`uid` LEFT OUTER JOIN employees ON users.id = employees.userid LEFT OUTER JOIN ( SELECT companies.companyid, companies.companytype AS `companytype`, SUM(companies.capital) AS `capital` FROM `companies` GROUP BY companies.companytype) SumCompanies ON employees.companyid = SumCompanies.companyid WHERE `users`.`status` > 2 "; if($type != null) { $acctype = $type - 1; $sql.= "AND`users`.`accounttype` = {$acctype} "; } if($country != null) { $sql.= "AND`users`.`country` = {$country} "; } if($state != null) { $sql.= "AND`users`.`state` = {$state} "; } $sql.= "GROUP BY `users`.`id` ORDER BY `users`.`id` DESC LIMIT {$start}, {$per_page}"; $result = mysql_query($sql) or die(mysql_error()); $users = array(); $i = 0; while($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { $users[$i] = array( 'id' => $row['id'], 'firstname' => $row['firstname'], 'lastname' => $row['lastname'], 'username' => $row['username'], 'email' => $row['email'], 'gender' => $row['gender'], 'accounttype' => $row['accounttype'], 'guestviews' => $row['guestviews'], 'iviews' => $row['iviews'], 'eviews' => $row['eviews'], 'credentials' => $row['credentials'], 'specialties' => $row['specialties'], 'country' => $row['country'], 'state' => $row['state'], 'city' => $row['city'], 'phonenumber' => $row['phonenumber'], 'dob' => $row['dob'], 'mail_status' => $row['mail_status'], 'status' => $row['status'], 'investor_type' => $row['investor_type'], 'dayofbirth' => $row['dayofbirth'], 'monthofbirth' => $row['monthofbirth'], 'yearofbirth' => $row['yearofbirth'], 'dateofbirth' => $row['dateofbirth'], 'signupdate' => $row['signupdate'], 'totalavailable' => $row['totalavailable'], 'companytype' => $row['companytype'], 'capital' => $row['capital'], ); $i++; } return $users; } ?> I am in a Central Time Zone, I was searching for a count down script that shows the number of days left to an event. I stumbled upon this script which uses several function to display the messages. However, the time is about an hour behind or at least not Central Time Zone. The time is the same on my local and remote servers, so I conclude it has to do with the script. I am not sure how to resolved this. Here it is: Code: [Select] <?php class event{ var $today; var $eventDate; function event($d,$m,$y){ $this->eventDate = mktime(0,0,0,$m,$d,$y); $this->today = date("d-m-y"); } function daysLeft(){ $daysUntilEvent = date('z',$this->eventDate); $currentDay=date('z'); $daysRemain = $daysUntilEvent - $currentDay; return $daysRemain; } function eventOver(){ if($this->daysLeft() <=0 ){ return 'Next Event is July 10th.'; }else{ return 'Event Begins in <span class="daysToEvent">'.$this->daysLeft().'</span> Days!'; } } } $event = new event(24,06,2011); echo $event->eventOver(); ?> Thanks everyone! IC PHP date and time function is not showing correct time on my local system I have the following php code date_default_timezone_set("Africa/Lagos"); $date = date('d-m-y h:i:s'); echo "Server Time ".$date ."<br>"; echo "The time is " . date("h:i:sa")."<br>"; $current_datetime = date("Y-m-d") . ' ' . date("H:i:s", STRTOTIME(date('h:i:sa'))); echo "Current time1: ".$current_datetime . "<br>";
Output
Server Time 21-05-21 09:55:39
Expected Output
Server Time 21-05-21 10:55:39
Any help would be appreciated. Edited May 21 by Ponel This is a dummy question but i cant get multiple criteria in the count function.
This is what i'm trying to do:
SELECT COUNT(Name, Expansion, Foil) AS NameCheck FROM Osiris WHERE Name="$name" Expansion="$expansion" Foil="$foil"I have Colums named: `Name` `Color` `Type` `Subtype` `Power` `Toughness` `Manacost` `Rarity` `Expansion` `Foil` `Stock`I want to check before i enter a new record if its not already there, by checking the Name, Expansion and Foil colum on the same record. I think i have just messed up that code line but i cant seem to find any solution on the web. Thanks in advance! Hi, I want the user to be able to go to one page and hit a button, once he hits the butten I want a count down to start from 10 minutes. When the user goes to the page within those 10 minutes, I want it to show him a live countdown until those ten minutes run out. Any ideas how I would go about doing this? I have no idea why but no matter what the eventid is, the label always returns 20 and I"m not sure why. Is my synatx wrong? $eventid = (int)$_GET['eventid']; $result = mysqli_query($dbc, "SELECT count(label) FROM `events` WHERE `event_id` = '$eventid'"); $label = $result + 1; echo $label; How can I modify the following code to not display $hash_row['total'], but to display the sum of the counted "total" value + 1? Is there a way that I can assign that variable in the "select query" area (for instance, "COUNT(hr.hasher_id) + 1 as total1"), and then call $hash_row['total1] in the result table? I'm not sure if the syntax exists to add an integer value to a COUNT value and assign to a new variable... Code: [Select] <?php include "modules/dbase_connection.php"; #create MySQL connection $sql_connection = sql_connect("blah","blah","blah","blah"); # select the Hashers and hashes by total number<br /> $hash_query = " SELECT ha.*, COUNT(hr.hasher_id) as total FROM hashers as ha, hash_records as hr WHERE hr.hasher_id = ha.hasher_id GROUP BY hr.hasher_id ORDER BY total DESC "; $hash_result = mysql_query($hash_query) or die(mysql_error()); $x = 1; while($hash_row = mysql_fetch_array($hash_result)) { #display the table header if($x == 1) { echo ' <br /> <table align="left"> <br /> <tbody> <tr><br /><td colspan="2"><strong>Potential On-Sec</strong></td><br /></tr>'; $x++; } echo '<tr><br /><td>' . $hash_row['hasher_name'] . '</td><br /><td>' . $hash_row['total'] . '</td><br /><td>- ' . $hash_row['real_name'] . I originally had it working when I first wrote it but it was counting all of the punctuation as a word so I I tried adding some code to eliminate that. Now it is not working. Could someone help me? Here is my code Code: [Select] function count_words($description){ $word_count = 0; $description = trim(preg_replace("/\s+/"," ",$description)); $word_array = explode(" ", $description); for($i=0; $i < count($word_array); $i++){ if (preg_match("[0-9A-Za-z]", $word_array[$i])) { $word_count++; } return $word_count; } } Code: [Select] function width2($noid) { $getwidth = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM block WHERE sid='$theid'",$this->connect); while($row1 = mysql_fetch_assoc($getwidth)) { $this->width2($noid); } } how do i count how many times the function loops? I know there has to be a better way to count how many entries I have in my mysql db than what I'm currently using. Let me just show you what I'm trying to do and it will make better sense. http://batads.com/display.php You see how I am echoing the number of each category on one page? I am sure the current script I am using is insanely inefficient and as my DB grows I think it will cause me problems. Any suggestions on how to do this more efficiently? Below is what is currently running that page. Thank you.
