PHP - [php] How To Block User After 3 Fail Of Submiting Wrong Information
As title says i need to block user for 30 minutes after he enter invalid data 3 times in a row. I know i need to enter ip and time in database, but how to stop form to be submited.
i have this code for count failed attempts, he increment value in session every time submit is pressed
// postavi ili povecaj broj u sessiji ako je Login button aktiviran if (empty($_SESSION['failed_login'])) { $_SESSION['failed_login'] = 1; } elseif (isset($_POST['login'])) { $_SESSION['failed_login']++; } // if login fail 3 times if ($_SESSION['failed_login'] > 3) { $error[] = 'U failed to login 3 times ' . $_SESSION['failed_login']; }This is whole login.php <?php // protect page from direct access if (!defined('AUTH')) { die('You are not authorized to see this page !'); } if ($general->is_logged() === true) { header('Location: index.php'); exit(); } $last_login_date = time(); $ip = $general->get_ip(); // postavi ili povecaj broj u sessiji ako je Login button aktiviran if (empty($_SESSION['failed_login'])) { $_SESSION['failed_login'] = 1; } elseif (isset($_POST['login'])) { $_SESSION['failed_login']++; } // if login fail 3 times if ($_SESSION['failed_login'] > 3) { $error[] = 'U failed to login 3 times ' . $_SESSION['failed_login']; } // login form if (isset($_POST['login'])) { $username = trim($_POST['username']); $password = trim($general->safepass($_POST['password'])); // if user entered username and password if (empty($username) || empty($password)) { $error[] = 'Please enter username and password'; } else { // login query $login = $users->login($username, $password); // cookie login if (isset($_POST['stay_logged'])) { // check if username and password is valid if ($login) { $user_id = $login['id']; // expire time for cookie 1 month $expire = time()+60*60*24*30; // make random code for token $rand = hash('sha512', mt_rand()); // set cookies setcookie('token', $rand, $expire); setcookie('username', $login['username'], $expire); setcookie('id', $login['id'], $expire); // update user last_login, ip, token code $update_login_data = $users->update_cookie_login($last_login_date, $ip, $rand, $user_id); // redirect user to index.php and exit script header('Location: index.php'); exit(); } else { // if username or password is not valid $error[] = 'Invalid username or password'; } } // session login else { // check if username and password is valid if ($login) { // make sessions with user_id and username $_SESSION['id'] = $login['id']; $_SESSION['username'] = $login['username']; $user_id = (int)$_SESSION['id']; // update user last_login, ip $update_login = $users->update_user_ip_login($last_login_date, $ip, $user_id); // redirect user to index.php and exit script header('Location: index.php'); exit(); } else { // if username or password is not valid $error[] = 'Invalid username or password'; } } } } ?> <h3>Log in</h3> <?php if (!empty($error)) { echo '<div class="big-error-msg"><ul style="margin:0 0 0 20px;">'; foreach ($error as $error) { echo '<li>'.$error. user can then login with email id and pwd. now after login ..user will get a page where he can upload the photos of products images and their price, so now my question is that when he finishes uploading (|by clicking on upload button) the product images and price text box ..then on final uploaded webspage it should show all other things which he registerd before (company name , mobile number etc) along with images and price...hence the main question that user does not need to enter mobile and address while uploading images and filling proce ..but on the final page it should show mobile and address along with price and images..as user is not going to enter mobile and address again and again as he will have multiple products to upload.
I am writing an email form for my site with some simple validation. I have the error messages working just fine. They do what they are supposed to do. However, when the form is brought back up to have the errors fixed. It puts a "1" in the field box. I looked at the code and I do not see where the "1" is coming from. I am also in the process of trying to figure out how to send email through my mail account using smtp. I want to see if it is going to send me the information that I ask for or the "1". Currently all of my work is being done on my localhost server Here is the code that I am using Code: [Select] <?php $email_form = "<form action='' target='' id='contactform' method='post'>\n"; $email_form .="<p class='form_header'>Contact us</p>\n"; $email_form .= "<fieldset>\n"; $email_form .= "<P>\n"; $email_form .= "<label for='name'><em>*</em> Your Name:</label>\n"; $email_form .= "<input type='text' name='name' id='name' value=".(isset($_POST['name']))." />\n"; $email_form .= "</p>\n"; $email_form .= "<p>\n"; $email_form .= "<label for='email'><em>*</em> E-mail:</label>\n"; $email_form .= "<input type='text' name='email' id='email' value=".(isset($_POST['email']))." />\n"; $email_form .= "</p>\n"; $email_form .= "<p>\n"; $email_form .= "<label for='subject'>Subject:</label>\n"; $email_form .= "<input type='text' name='subject' id='subject' value=".(isset($_POST['subject']))." />\n"; $email_form .= "</p>\n"; $email_form .= "<p>\n"; $email_form .= "<label for='message'><em>*</em> Message:</label>\n"; $email_form .= "<textarea name='message' id='message'>".(isset($_POST['message']))."</textarea>\n"; $email_form .= "</p>\n"; $email_form .= "<input type='submit' id='submit' value='Submit!' name='submitted' /><br />\n"; $email_form .= "<p class='required'>Fields marked with an asterik(*) are required</p>\n"; $email_form .= "</fieldset>\n"; if (!isset($_POST['submitted'])) { echo "$email_form"; } else { $name = (isset($_POST['name'])); $email = (isset($_POST['email'])); $to = "your@email.co.uk"; $subject = (isset($_POST['subject'])); $body = (isset($_POST['message'])); if ($subject == "") { $subject = "Email from website"; } else { $subject == $subject; } if ($_POST['name'] != "") { $_POST['name'] = filter_var($_POST['name'], FILTER_SANITIZE_STRING); if ($_POST['name'] == "") { $errors .= 'Please enter a valid name.<br/><br/>'; } } else { $errors .= 'Please enter your name.<br/>'; } if ($_POST['email'] != "") { $email = filter_var($_POST['email'], FILTER_SANITIZE_EMAIL); if (!filter_var($email, FILTER_VALIDATE_EMAIL)) { $errors .= "$email is <strong>NOT</strong> a valid email address.<br/>"; } } else { $errors .= 'Please enter your email address.<br/>'; } if ($_POST['message'] != "") { $_POST['message'] = filter_var($_POST['message'], FILTER_SANITIZE_STRING); if ($_POST['message'] == "") { $errors .= 'Please enter a message to send.<br/>'; } } else { $errors .= 'Please enter a message to send.<br/>'; } if (empty($errors)) { $headers = 'MIME-Version: 1.0' . Hi this is what I have set up - SQL tables - Members - memberid - primary key Username Password Orders - Orderid - primary key memberid - foreign key orderno In my sql table there are two members and two orders. 1 order is assigned to 1 member and the other order to the other member. After each member logs in I need to 'echo' that order on the page. I've not been able to write any succesful php code that 'gets' the specific order that is related to the member that has signed in. I would appreciate help on this! Thanks This topic has been moved to Application Design. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=347193.0 Hi, I have created a session based logon system using php and MYSQL from some tutorials I found online which is working very successfully. I can log on and of and move through different pages with no problems. My query is how do I output or display the information that is specific to the user which is currently logged on and block access to any other users information. I am quite sure there is a simple solution that is escaping me. If you could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance This script works well as far as getting the form information onto the database but for some reason the confirmation email is not being sent to the user. Could someone take a quick look at my script? Please? I've attached the included files as well. I guess I just need another set of eyes to look over this script. It would be much appreciated <?php // Created BY Adam Khoury @ www.developphp.com // let's initialize vars to be printed to page in the HTML section so our script does not return errors // they must be initialized in some server environments $errorMsg = ""; $firstname = ""; $lastname = ""; $country = ""; $state = ""; $city = ""; $zip = ""; $website = ""; $youtube = ""; $email1 = ""; $email2 = ""; $pass1 = ""; $pass2 = ""; // This code runs only if the form submit button is pressed if (isset ($_POST['firstname'])){ /* Example of cleaning variables in a loop $vars = ""; foreach ($_POST as $key => $value) { $value = stripslashes($value); $vars .= "$key = $value<br />"; } print "$vars"; exit(); */ $firstname = $_POST['firstname']; $lastname = $_POST['lastname']; $country = $_POST['country']; $state = $_POST['state']; $city = $_POST['city']; $zip = $_POST['zip']; $website = $_POST['website']; $youtube = $_POST['youtube']; $email1 = $_POST['email1']; $email2 = $_POST['email2']; $pass1 = $_POST['pass1']; $pass2 = $_POST['pass2']; $humancheck = $_POST['humancheck']; $firstname = stripslashes($firstname); $lastname = stripslashes($lastname); $state = stripslashes($state); $city = stripslashes($city); $zip = stripslashes($zip); $website = stripslashes($website); $youtube = stripslashes($youtube); $email1 = stripslashes($email1); $pass1 = stripslashes($pass1); $email2 = stripslashes($email2); $pass2 = stripslashes($pass2); $firstname = strip_tags($firstname); $lastname = strip_tags($lastname); $state = strip_tags($state); $city = strip_tags($city); $zip = strip_tags($zip); $website = strip_tags($website); $youtube = strip_tags($youtube); $email1 = strip_tags($email1); $pass1 = strip_tags($pass1); $email2 = strip_tags($email2); $pass2 = strip_tags($pass2); // Connect to database include_once "connect_to_mysql.php"; $emailCHecker = mysql_real_escape_string($email1); $emailCHecker = eregi_replace("`", "", $emailCHecker); // Database duplicate e-mail check setup for use below in the error handling if else conditionals mysql_select_db("perry100_users", $myConnection); $sql_email_check = mysql_query("SELECT email FROM myMembers WHERE email='$emailCHecker'", $myConnection); $email_check = mysql_num_rows($sql_email_check);// or die(mysql_error()); // Error handling for missing data if ((!$firstname) || (!$lastname) || (!$country) || (!$state) || (!$city) || (!$zip) || (!$email1) || (!$email2) || (!$pass1) || (!$pass2)) { $errorMsg = 'ERROR: You did not submit the following required information:<br /><br />'; if(!$firstname){ $errorMsg .= ' * First Name<br />'; } if(!$lastname){ $errorMsg .= ' * Last Name<br />'; } if(!$country){ $errorMsg .= ' * Country<br />'; } if(!$state){ $errorMsg .= ' * State or Provice<br />'; } if(!$city){ $errorMsg .= ' * City<br />'; } if(!$zip){ $errorMsg .= ' * Postal or Zip Code<br />'; } if(!$email1){ $errorMsg .= ' * Email Address<br />'; } if(!$email2){ $errorMsg .= ' * Confirm Email Address<br />'; } if(!$pass1){ $errorMsg .= ' * Login Password<br />'; } if(!$pass2){ $errorMsg .= ' * Confirm Login Password<br />'; } } else if ($email1 != $email2) { $errorMsg = 'ERROR: Your Email fields below do not match<br />'; } else if ($pass1 != $pass2) { $errorMsg = 'ERROR: Your Password fields below do not match<br />'; } else if ($humancheck != "") { $errorMsg = 'ERROR: The Human Check field must be cleared to be sure you are human<br />'; } else if ($email_check > 0){ $errorMsg = "<u>ERROR:</u><br />Your Email address is already in use inside our database. I hope that you are all having a great time with PHP. Well I am too. Problem: I want all users who register to a mock site to have a unique, yet random ID. This ID is used to give the user virtual coordinates. So what I thought was to give the users a 'coordinate' like x=123, y=123 . i.e. (123,123) One of my goals is to calculate the virtual distance between two users. I figured out the real-world solution to this problem (I hope that it is correct!). It is as follows: Code: [Select] User 1: (123,123), User 2: (111,111). Distance: (((123-111)^2)+((123-111)^2)))^1/2 Now to my problem... Is it possible for me to arrange a list of user-records for each user in order of the 'closest' (shortest distance) users to those farthest? Without having my databases ruined with too much entries, that is... My other problem is as to how to make the 'coordinates' unique to each user. All I know about that is about assigning random numbers for each, and this is not that efficient. If you think that my entire approach to the situation is bonkers , do let me know. I thank you for any help in advance! Regards, Thauwa Basically, I'm still trying to wrap my head around OOP. What I'm trying to do here is a simple OOP user login script. But when I submit the form, all that happens is that the text fields reset them selves and nothing that I feel should be happening, happens. ie: I submit login data, and either it displays an error or reirects to index page. Neither happen, the form merely resets. Where am I going wrong? Code: [Select] <form name="loginform" id="loginform" action="<?php $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?>" method="post"> <p> <label>Username<br> <input name="user" id="user_login" class="input" size="20" tabindex="10" type="text" /> </label> </p> <p> <label>Password<br> <input name="pass" id="user_pass" class="input" value="" size="20" tabindex="20" type="password"></label> </p> <p class="forgetmenot"><label><input name="rememberme" id="rememberme" value="forever" tabindex="90" type="checkbox"> Remember Me</label></p> <p class="submit"> <input name="login" id="submit" class="button-primary" value="Log In" tabindex="100" type="submit"> <input name="redirect_to" value="/users.php" type="hidden"> </p> </form> Code: [Select] <?php if(isset($_POST['login'])) { $username = $_POST['user']; $password = $_POST['pass']; include("./classes/class.users.php"); USERS::login($username, $password); } ?> Code: [Select] <?php // Yes, my DATABAASE::DoIT(1) // (0) is working as intended (from a different include file) class USERS { var $user; var $pass; var $email; ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// function login($user, $pass) { include("/var/www/config.php"); DATABASE::DoIt('1'); $hashword = sha1($CONFIG['salt1']."$pass".$CONFIG['salt2']); $sql = "SElECT * FROM users WHERE username='$user' AND hashword='$hashword'"; $result = mysql_query($sql); $count = mysql_num_rows($result); if($count==1) { while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { define('USERS_AUTHENTICATED', true); $_SESSION['USERS_username'] = $row['username']; $_SESSION['USERS_userid'] = $row['userid']; DATABASE::DoIt('0'); header("Location: index.php"); } } else { $_SESSION['loginError'] = true; DATABASE::DoIt('0'); return $_SESSION['loginError']; } DATABASE::DoIt('0'); } } ?> Hi all, Ive latly coded a option for my website which allowes users to send money. Thanks. Hi im currently learning php and mysql and as a test (or a lesson) i thaught id do a timesheet site which adds the time and date and so on to the datatbase. Now im at the stage where i want to actually view the times for a particular date... The problem im getting is that with the date picker which is a simple dropdown menu for the days/month/year but when i submit the form to the view.php file the result i get is 'Submit Query' which is the value of the button... Can someone give me a few pointers on what im doing wrong!!! Thank you Chris Hi there I have a problem here, I think I may know what it is but just wanted some guidance on this issue. I took the logic from a previous help from the people on this forum and here is my landing page: <?php // ini_set("display_errors", 1); // randomly starts a session! session_name("jeremyBasicLogin"); session_start(); if(isset($_SESSION['username'])) { // display whatever when the user is logged in: echo <<<ADDENTRY <html> <head> <title>User is now signed in:<title> </head> <body> <h1>You are now signed in!</h1> <p>You can do now what you want to do!</p> </body> </html> ADDENTRY; } else { // If anything else dont allow access and send back to original page! header("location: signin.php"); } ?> This is where the user goes to when they go to this system (not a functional system, ie it doesnt actually do anything its more for my own theory. As you wont have a session on the first turn to this page it goes to: signin.php which contains: <?php // ini_set("display_errors", 1); require_once('func.db.connect.php'); if(array_key_exists('submit',$_POST)) { dbConnect(); // connect to database anyways! // Do a procedure to log the user in: // Santize User Inputs $username = trim(stripslashes(mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['username']))); // cleans up with PHP first! $password = trim(stripslashes(mysql_real_escape_string(md5($_POST['password'])))); // cleans up with PHP first! $sql = "SELECT * FROM users WHERE username='$username' AND password='$password'"; $result = mysql_query($sql); if(mysql_num_rows($result) == 1) { session_name("jeremyBasicLogin"); session_start(); $_SESSION['is_logged_in'] = true; $_SESSION['username'] = $username; //print_r($_SESSION); // debug purposes only! $_SESSION['time_loggedin'] = time(); // this is adding to the array (have seen the output in the SESSION vars! // call function to update the time stamp in MySQL? header("location: index.php"); } else if(mysql_num_rows($result) != 1) { $message = "You typed the wrong password or Username Please retry!"; } } else { $message = ""; } // displays the login page: echo <<<LOGIN <html> <body> <h1>Example Login</h1> <form id="login" name="login" action="{$_SERVER['PHP_SELF']}" method="post"> <label for="username">Username: </label><input type="text" id="username" name="username" value="" /><br> <label for="password">Password: </label><input type="text" id="password" name="password" value="" /><br> <input type="submit" id="submit" name="submit" value="Login" /> </form> LOGIN; echo "<p>" . $message . "</p>"; echo <<<REGISTER </form> </body> </html> REGISTER; ?> As I said when the user signs up when submitting the above form, it doesnt work, keeps coming up with a different value for the password, so I am about 99% certain its the password, but I have been maticulous about copying in the sanitize function for SQL injections and it just doesnt still work, really puzzled now. Any helps appreciated, Jeremy. Hey im agen stuck on code i get You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1 but i think i have all correct if i submit i get values but that dont add in database Code: [Select] <?php //Values if(isset($_POST['Submit'])) { $request = preg_replace("/[^0-9a-zA-Z]/","",$_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']); $ip = preg_replace("/[^0-9a-zA-Z]/","",$_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']); $referer = preg_replace("/[^0-9a-zA-Z]/","",$_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER']); $agent = preg_replace("/[^0-9a-zA-Z]/","",$_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT']); //Open connection include('connectx.php'); //Test is there connection available $query=("Select * from Error where date='NOW()'"); $result= mysql_query($query); $num=mysql_num_rows($result); //Add data $query=("INSERT INTO Error (id,request,ip,referer,date,agent) VALUES ('NULL','$request','$ip','$referer',NOW(),'$agent'"); if (@mysql_query($query)) { echo('<p>Error code has succesfuly send</p>'); } else { echo ("Error was in submiting code").mysql_error(); } mysql_close(); } ?>any help will become welcome Currently what I'm trying to do is to create a blogging software through PHP (for myself) and when trying to change the amount of posts viewable on the edit/delete page, the form, which auto-submits if JavaScript is enabled, should deliver the following result:
"/?page=EditPost&limit=6"
This is obviously depending on what value is chosen, it can be anywhere from 5 to 10. But what it is actually returning is "?limit=6".
This is the PHP script for the function:
public function EchoLimitSelector() { $limit = isset($_GET['limit']) ? $_GET['limit'] : NULL; echo "<div class='tright'>"; echo "<form action='?page=EditPost&limit=".$limit."' method='GET'>"; echo "<span>Posts per page: </span>"; echo "<select name='limit' style='font-size: 16px; width: 50px;' onchange='this.form.submit();'>"; for($x = 5; $x <= 10; $x++) { echo "<option value=".$x. " "; //Setting default selected value if($limit) { if($limit == $x) { echo "selected"; } } else { if($x == 5) { echo "selected"; } } echo ">".$x."</option>"; } echo "</select>"; echo "<noscript><input type='submit' value='Go' style='height: 26px; padding: 0; margin-top: -7px;'/></noscript>"; echo "</form>"; echo "</div>"; }I'm hoping that it's just a simple fix. Thanks. Ubuntu PHP Mysql So I got this form validator script online and I applied the validator part of it to my own form. My form requires a NAME and a SERIAL to be inputted and the SERIAL must be all numbers. I tested the validator by leaving NAME blank in my form and SERIAL all letters. The dispalyed resutls show the correct error messages: "Name : Please fill in a name for this computer." and "Serial : Please fill in a serial number for this computer." But the entry is still submitted with the errors and all. Here is my validator script. It begins by calling the script I got online which is from this website: http://www.html-form-guide.com/php-form/php-form-validation.html <?PHP require_once "formvalidator.php"; $validator = new FormValidator(); $validator->addValidation("Name","req","Please fill in a name for this computer."): $validator->addValidation("Serial","req","Please fill in a serial number for this computer"); $validator->addValidation("Serial","num","Serial number must be only numeric values"); if($validator->ValidateForm()) { echo "<h2>Validation Success!</h2>"; } else { echo "<B>Validation Errors:</B>"; $error_hash = $validator->GetErrors(); foreach($error_hash as $inpname => $inp_err) { echo "<p>$inpname : $inp_err</p>\n"; } } } ?> |
