PHP - Center Text Vertically In Image In Php Not Working

I'm testing out small bits of code for myself, and I'm trying to understand why this isn't coming out how I would imagine it to...

I have my function which stores colors in an array from a text file, then I return back a random color from my array like so...

And now in the main program, I simply have this:

For some reason though, my switch statement always reads the default case, making me assume that the words "blue" "red" "green" etc... aren't matching up to what I have set the cases at. When I output what color is actually being read, it displays exactly as it should, so I don't understand why the case "red" isn't opening up when that color is chosen, or same with any of the other colors.

Is there some small conflict I'm unaware of in this tiny practice code? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I am working on a project at the end of a text book called Beginning PHP MySQL Development which is published by Pawprints Learning Technologies.   I am developing the files in NetBeans and using WAMP server. Hi, I'm making a php game, and the image map isn't working. I don't know if it is a php or javascript issue, I don't think it is an html issue but I could be wrong so feel free to move this post. lol. But basically, The image map is supposed to link to an array of images. That is how the game works. There is the overworld image map, you click on a link, and go to the zone images, all in the same window. Any help GREATLY appreciated because having the image map feature work would be awesome finally. thanks. Derek.

Hey.. this is something I found online, and something mine combined, and it works perfectly... When I upload pic, it uploads it where I want to, and it makes thumbnail where I want to, BUT it resize the original and the thumbnail, so I end up with two same sized images, and I want one thumbnail, and you click it, it shows a bigger ( original ) picture.. Can anyone see an error in this code??

Hi guys

Hi Guys,

I got this method to upload an image once, now nothing is uploading at all and I cant seem to figure out why. I set permissions of both the script and image upload directory to www:/data and 777, but its still not working. When I print the return from basename, it show's 0, which means the file is uploaded.. But it not:(

I am currently racking my brains trying to work this out. I am creating a basic CMS system and one of the functions is to give them the option of adding pictures to their gallery however at the moment the uploaded file is not uploading...at all, the FILES array seems to have no recollection of it actually being posted.

The script is meant to:

1. User types in specific details on the form and selects the picture for upload.
2. The script then validates the given details and checks the uploaded file is in fact a image.
3. The script then moves the uploaded file to the storage location on the server.
4. Some basic SQL is then run to transfer the given details and the storage location to the database.

Hey guys,

I have an image upload script and it's working fine. But for some files it will not work. It says it can't get the filesize and it can't copy that file. I have tried to change the file format of that file, but with no result. So it's not the file format. Is there anything else that could confuse getfilesize and copy commands in PHP? I have found a script off the net which uploads an image to a directory but even though it says the image was uploaded successfully - it didn't actually upload it.


The folder permission is 775 (im assuming that is correct).

Basically, there are a couple of faults with this code. I didn't include the pagination part, but there is, for simplicity. But right now, when I insert a new record such as this:
INSERT INTO `images` VALUES (' ', 'blog', 'yo', '6', 'hello', '2011-02-15T07:24:17Z')
The columns go in order  of thumbnailID, folder, link, pic, alt, and time.^^^^^^^^

several problem arises. One, the new record is not displayed as the newest entry on my site. So the record is actually placed in one of the paginated pages. How can I reverse the order? The other thing is, it seems like my pic column is the only thing being understood. You see, when I inserted the above record, I checked my site and saw the pic 6, but the link wasn't 'yo', and the alt wasn't 'hello'. Why is that?

By the way, my host is awfully terrible. Maybe it's just having a major delay in reading the link and alt? I don't know. That would be the only reasonable answer, unless my code is off.

Hi, I'm trying to make a simple slideshow with forward and back buttons that change the image inside a div in php. When I press the "further" button, it jumps from index[0] to index[1] and never shows the first image. Then when I click more it doesn't go forward. When I click back, it goes back to a black screen div. Any help getting this to work is GREATLY appreciated because I've been trying for 2 days with tutorials and can't get it. Thanks. Derek

Hi, I have three divs all with different z indexes. One div shows a  clickable world map that goes to the monsters and background divs, which is set up in an array. The problem is, when the map is clicked, it doesn't go to the first element in the array, and when I go "back" with the back button, it doesn't go all the way to the map.
