PHP - Dynamically Generate Editable Pdf
Hello
I am using fpdf to generate pdf files based on certain csv files. Now the client wants certain fields of the generated pdf file to be 'interactive' .
Is this possible ? Googling about editable (interactive pdf's) only confused me . any help ?
btw by interactive I mean fields that can be typed into directly by the client and then saved into the pdf .
Similar TutorialsHi, I am trying to create a system where the user can just edit the page online. I have tried to do this using the <!-- EDITABLE --> tag. My system logs in fine and displays the pages that can be edited, however when I click on the page to edit it it doesn't provide the editable region in a text area to be able to change it which it should do. This is the section of code that should make the user able to change the text: if ($_SESSION['username']=='login') { if (isset($_REQUEST['file'])) { $fc = file_get_contents($_REQUEST['file']); $text = explode("<!-- EDITABLE -->",$fc); echo "<form method='post' action=''><textarea name='content'>$text[1]</textarea>"; echo "<p><input type='hidden' name='file' value='".$_REQUEST['file']."' /><input name='submitUpdate' type='submit' value='Update Page'></form>"; } else { echo "<p align='center'> <a href='index.html'>Home Page</a><br/> <a href='contact_us.html'>Contact Us</a><br/> <br/> <em>Click on the links above to edit the files.</em><br/> <a href='logout'>logout</a></p>"; } } The section of code that can be edited in each file is coded like this: <div class='main'> <!-- EDITABLE --> Contents written here can be edited <!-- EDITABLE --> </div> Anybody got any ideas as its giving me no error messages and I can't see whats wrong with the code. Thanks in advance How do you display non-editable data that is part of a larger form? For instance, I have an "Add a Comment" for with... =========================== * Article Title (non-editable) * Name (non-editable) * Comment (editable) Submit button =========================== Do I just make a Form with one Input field for the editable field?! And then make the first two "fields" stylized <p> tags?? Debbie I'm useing a simple HTML drop-down list box. But now I want to be able to and an editable drop-down box so that if the particular item in the drop-down is not changed it won't update the database. But if a new value is selected it will update the DB with the new value.
I am not clear on a couple of things. should the valuse of the drop down be in a seperate DB table. And then the script to change the new value or keep the old.
I've googled this and can't seem to find a workable solution.
Thanks in advance,

Kind Regards, Naveed. Edited July 30, 2020 by Naveed786I am using Dreamweaver CS4 to build a website. On my contact page, I made a form with spry validation. I used a tutvid tutorial to learn a simple form handler script (I'm a complete newb at PHP) and everything works great. The only problem I'm having is, in my Dreamweaver template, I have an editable region that has the form. When the user clicks to submit the form, a new html page opens up that looks nothing like my website. What I'm trying to accomplish is having the form disappear and be replaced in the same editable region with my "thank you" message. This way, the user just submits, the form disappears, and they get a thank you message on the same page, in the same place where the form was. Here is the form code: Code: [Select] <form id="frmContact" name="frmContact" method="post" action="contact_form.php"> <fieldset><legend>Submit a question or comment...</legend> <p> <label for="name">Name:</label> <span id="spryName"> <input type="text" name="name" id="name" /> <span class="textfieldRequiredMsg">Name is required.</span><span class="textfieldMinCharsMsg">Must have at least 3 characters.</span><span class="textfieldMaxCharsMsg">Must not exceed 20 characters.</span></span></p> <p> <label for="email">Email:</label> <span id="spryPassword"> <input type="text" name="email" id="email" tabindex="10" /> <span class="textfieldRequiredMsg">Email address is required.</span><span class="textfieldInvalidFormatMsg">Not a valid email address.</span><span class="textfieldMinCharsMsg">Not a valid email address.</span><span class="textfieldMaxCharsMsg">Not a valid email address.</span></span></p> <p> <label id="message" for="question">Please tell us how we can help you:</label><br /> <span id="spryText"> <textarea name="question" id="question" cols="45" rows="5" tabindex="20"></textarea><br /> <span class="textareaRequiredMsg">A question or comment is required.</span><span class="textareaMinCharsMsg">Must have 16 characters minimum</span><span class="textareaMaxCharsMsg">Must not exceed 500 characters.</span></span></p> <p> <input type="submit" name="submit" id="submit" value="Submit" tabindex="30" /> </p> </fieldset> </form> Here is the PHP script: <?php /* Subject and Email variables */ $emailSubject = 'Contact Form Response'; $webMaster = 'centerline.computers@gmail.com'; /* Gather Data variables */ $nameField = $_POST['name']; $emailField = $_POST['email']; $questionField = $_POST['question']; $body = <<<EOD <br><hr><br> Name: $nameField <br> Email: $emailField <br> Message: $questionField <br> EOD; $headers = "From: $emailField\r\n"; $headers .= "Content-type: text/html\r\n"; $success = mail($webMaster, $emailSubject, $body, $headers); /* Results rendered as HTML */ $theResults = <<<EOD <html><body> <h2>Thank you for submitting.</h2> <p>We will get back to you as soon as possible.</p> </body> </html> EOD; echo "$theResults"; ?> Thanks for any help you might have for me! Hello, I have encountered a problem and I am not even sure it's stricty PHP-related. The problem is with website I want to migrate to a better hosting provider and I also have to edit the code to make it PHP 5 compatible. I have a news editing panel that uses FCKEditor. There are 3 fields: date, news title, and news text. The first two are OK, but the textarea is empty and non-editable, i.e. I cannot click in it to put the cursor inside. The problem only exists on my local Wampserver (PHP 5.3.0). When I upload all the files to the old hosting server (PHP 5.2.5) the textarea is editable. Here is the code that loads the news editing page: <?php class page extends admin{ function page(){ if(isset($_GET['do'])) { if($_GET['do']=='del'){ mysql_query("DELETE FROM news WHERE id = '$_GET[id]'"); mysql_query("DELETE FROM news_text WHERE parent = '$_GET[id]'"); $this->loc("?nav=news"); } if(!empty($_POST['date'])){ $sql="UPDATE news SET ".$this->post_insert(array("date"))." WHERE id = '$_GET[id]'"; mysql_query($sql); echo $sql; $parent=$_GET['id']; //insert lang values $this->update_langs("news_text",array("name","content"),$parent); $this->loc(); } } } // Sub menu Buttos var $sub_menus=array( array("Списък новини","news"), array("Добави новина","add_news") ); //Sub menu generation function sub_menu(){ for($i=0;$i<sizeof($this->sub_menus);$i++){ echo "<li><a href=\"?nav=".$this->sub_menus[$i][1]."\">".$this->sub_menus[$i][0]."</a></li>"; } } // Language form template function lang_form($name,$id){ echo ' <fieldset> <legend>'.$name.'</legend> <div class="line"><label>Име: </label> <input name="name_'.$id.'" class="text" style="width:450px;" value="'.$this->get_sql_value("SELECT * FROM news_text WHERE parent='$_GET[id]' AND lang='$id'","name").'" type="text" /> </div> <div class="line"><label>Съдържание: </label></div>'; $oFCKeditor = new FCKeditor('content_'.$id); $oFCKeditor->BasePath = 'includes/fckeditor/'; $oFCKeditor->Height= '500px'; $oFCKeditor->Value= $this->get_sql_value("SELECT * FROM news_text WHERE parent = '$_GET[id]' AND lang='$id'","content"); $oFCKeditor->Create(); echo' </fieldset>'; } } $p=new page(); ?> <div id="left"> <ul> <li><h1>Опции:</h1></li> <?php echo $p->sub_menu(); ?> </ul> </div> <div id="center"> <h1>Amalipe.com / Администрация / Новини / Редакция на новина</h1> <form name="add" id="add" action="" method="post"> <fieldset> <legend>Основна информация</legend> <div class="line"><label>Дата: </label> <input name="date" class="text" type="text" value="<?php echo $p->get_value("news","date"); ?>" /></div> </fieldset> <?php $p->lang_forms(); ?> <input value="Промени" class="btn" type="submit" /> </form> </div> The encoded characters you see in the code are Cyrillic names. At first I thought this had something to do with the FCKEditor version so I upgraded it to the last one (FCKeditor_2.6.6) but nothing changed. On my local Wampserver I have two PHP versions - 5.2.9-2 and 5.3.0 - neither works. I have also added 5.2.5 to see if this changes anything but no, it doesn't - the textarea is still empty and non-editable. I hope I can get some help! Hi everyone, this is my first time in this forum and I really need to seek some help from much more experienced PHP coders. My Final Year Project requires me to create a questionnaire to collect Profiling Data from the students. However with only half a year's experience with PHP coding, we find our knowledge rather insufficient at this point. Currently we have created a simple questionnaire with a simple search engine [attached] However now we have been requested to create a questionnaire where it is able to edit, add, remove questions from the questionnaire online itself without the need to go backend. Looking at some tutorials and other posts on this forum, I realised that the "hardcoding" we did, by putting all the questions/answers in to the HTML code itself instead of pulling it out from the database in SQL will cause difficulties. Thus I have decided to build the whole survey from scratch where the questions and answers are all stored in the SQL database itself. Help needed : > How should I actually create my database? What is in my mind now is to create a database with tables as such: Questionslist (Storing questions) id, questionid, question Answerslist (Storing options for questions male,female etc.) id, questionid, option > I currently have no clue how to start creating a page where I can add/edit/remove the questions in the questionnaire. Any example on how to start? > I roughly have an idea on how to edit or remove the questions the questions, but how do I add a question with the choice of making it a TEXT option, or a RADIO BUTTON option or a LIST option and have it add that question into my table of questionlist and answerlist as well? Currently using Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 and HeidiSQL for this project. We have requested a webspace from the school itself to host this questionnaire as well. If anyone needs more infomation to be able to assist me, I would gladly provide. With Thanks, Shawn [attachment deleted by admin] Can this be done with php? aaa aab aac ... zzz Hello again, I'm trying to work out the right way to do this, and I'm wondering if some of you could give me some tips or point me into the right direction. Basically what I'm looking to create is an "editable" proposal generator to make things a bit easier around the office. Basically you would have a landing page to select your product, select the options, add pricing, and plug a price into a lease payment generator that would spit out the math for the 12/24/.../60 month payment options. I thought about just creating it all in PHP with html forms for all of the variables (customer name, which product, options, etc) and then using PHP to do the math for the lease payments (easy enough I think,) but the part where I'm having trouble is the actual printing and archiving of the proposal once it has been generated. Ideally I would like it to fit perfect on a page every time, obviously, but there are other problems such as the header/footer parts coming out on the page (which I know is a client side thing that I can't really get around.) Is there a better way to do all of this? Is there another language I should be looking at that would make this easier conceptually? I'm sure a few of you have run across this "Editable Invoice" ( http://css-tricks.com/examples/EditableInvoice/ ...) I imagine it behaving similar to this (written with css, javascript.) <?php if(isset($_POST['submit'])){ //collect form data $location = $_POST['location']; $ID = $_POST['ID']; $section = $_POST['section']; //check name is set if($location ==''){ $error[] = 'Name is required'; } //if no errors carry on if(!isset($error)){ # Title of the CSV $Content = "location, ID, section\n"; //set the data of the CSV $Content .= "$location, $ID, $section\n"; # set the file name and create CSV file $my_file = ("$location$ID$section.cvs"); $handle = fopen("$my_file", "w") or die('Cannot open file: '.$my_file); header('Content-Type: application/csv'); header('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="' . $FileName . '"'); echo $Content; exit(); } } //if their are errors display them if(isset($error)){ foreach($error as $error){ echo "<p style='color:#ff0000'>$error</p>"; } } ?> <form action='' method='post'> <p><label>Location:</label><br><input type='text' name='location' value=''></p> <p><label>ID:</label><br><input type='text' name='ID' value=''></p> <p><label>Section:</label><br><input type='text' name='section' value=''></p> <p><input type='submit' name='submit' value='Submit'></p> </form>I have wrote a .php file which is a form with 3 different fields, in these fields I want to write entries which lateron will be submitted into a .csv generating a csv file on my server with the name of the entries. The issue is that the file is not being generated on my server. With the current code the entries are being recognized and being placed in the filename of the csv. The point is not to make it downloadable sinds I want to have it on my webserver and keep editing information in it. My code is top of this post. My .php file replies that: Cannot open file: BOD10Buffer.csv Pardon my sloppy code everyone, I am not really a person that codes but this "form" may save me a lot of time in the longrun, just difficult and I am asking for help on this. Is there anyone that may be kind enough to help me? and as to what I might be doing wrong? All help is much appreciated! Hi guys, so i have this file upload script. When i upload a file it gets stored in /uploads and keeps the same file name. So if i upload a file "test.exe" the file will be available at uploads/test.exe
What i want is that it generates a new file name like: "9daln292os.exe" so upload/9daln292os.exe
This is my code:
<?php // Where the file is going to be placed $target_path = "uploads/"; /* Add the original filename to our target path. Result is "uploads/filename.extension" */ $target_path = $target_path . basename( $_FILES['uploadedfile']['name']); $_FILES['uploadedfile']['tmp_name']; ?> <?php $file_type = $_FILES['userfile']['type']; $file_name = $_FILES['userfile']['name']; $file_ext = strtolower(substr($file_name,strrpos($file_name,"."))); if (!in_array($file_type, $FILE_MIMES) && !in_array($file_ext, $FILE_EXTS) ) $message = "Sorry, $file_name($file_type) is not allowed to be uploaded."; else $message = do_upload_function_here($upload_path_here, $upload_ur_upload_url_herel); ?> <?php $target_path = "uploads/"; $target_path = $target_path . basename( $_FILES['uploadedfile']['name']); if(move_uploaded_file($_FILES['uploadedfile']['tmp_name'], $target_path)) { echo "The file ". basename( $_FILES['uploadedfile']['name']). " has been uploaded. Here is the link to your file: <a href=uploads/". basename( $_FILES['uploadedfile']['name']). ">". basename( $_FILES['uploadedfile']['name'])."</a>"; } else{ echo "There was an error uploading the file, please try again!"; } ?>I don't know any basic php i really need someone to give me the code ready please. Thanks much appreciated. Edited by darox, 21 July 2014 - 01:07 PM. I have tried sitemap.org and a few others but have not found anything that will give the results I am after. I have a blog site that has a URL and a Description for the URL and wish to have the description show as the anchor text which is linked to the URL, all data is taken from MySQL. Does anyone have a code that will generate something like this ? Hi, can someone help me to understand this? What i want to do is to write some information in a form and after i submit the form that data will be in a new php page. Thanks in advance hi, im trying to create a website and only now started thinking about the security part(noob mistake). say for example i have home.php page and an index.php page. index.php is where users would sign up/log in. the login and sign up processes are all done but i was thinking of creating a unique id of some sort for when the user logs in. or something like this site (forum.phpfreaks) when we sign in, you are signed but the url stays the same = forums.phpfreaks.com. like if we were signed out we will be permanantly signed out and typing in forums.phpfreaks.com would just land us at the main page where we need to sign in.
right now ,my home.php can be accessed with or without logging in even with sessions.
hope im making sense, thanks in advanced!
**haha that rhymed.
i tried adding:
<?php echo $_SERVER[PHP_SELF] . '?name=' . $userData['name'];?> in the index.php:
<?php ob_start(); session_start(); if(isset($_POST['login'])) { $email = $_POST['email']; $password = $_POST['pass']; require "connection.php"; $emails = mysqli_real_escape_string($con, $email); $query = "SELECT id, name, email, password, salt FROM users WHERE email = '$emails';"; $result = mysqli_query($con, $query); if(mysqli_num_rows($result) == 0) // User not found. Hi, I have a script to add images to my tabel and and upload them to my server, I have managed to get the upload script to rename the image with a 5 digit random number on the end to prevent overwriting, the only problem I can't seem to be able to add the same name to my tabel. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Code: [Select] <?php $idir = "uploads/"; // Path To Images Directory if (isset ($_FILES['fupload'])){ //upload the image to tmp directory $url = $_FILES['fupload']['name']; // Set $url To Equal The Filename For Later Use if ($_FILES['fupload']['type'] == "image/jpg" || $_FILES['fupload']['type'] == "image/jpeg" || $_FILES['fupload']['type'] == "image/pjpeg") { $file_ext = strrchr($_FILES['fupload']['name'], '.'); // Get The File Extention In The Format Of , For Instance, .jpg, .gif or .php $copy = copy($_FILES['fupload']['tmp_name'], $idir. basename($_FILES['fupload']['name'], $file_ext).rand(10000 , 99999).$file_ext); // Move Image From Temporary Location To Perm } } if (isset ($_FILES['fupload2'])){ //upload the image to tmp directory $url = $_FILES['fupload2']['name']; // Set $url To Equal The Filename For Later Use if ($_FILES['fupload2']['type'] == "image/jpg" || $_FILES['fupload2']['type'] == "image/jpeg" || $_FILES['fupload2']['type'] == "image/pjpeg") { $file_ext = strrchr($_FILES['fupload2']['name'], '.'); // Get The File Extention In The Format Of , For Instance, .jpg, .gif or .php $copy = copy($_FILES['fupload2']['tmp_name'], "$idir" . $_FILES['fupload2']['name'] $file_ext).rand(10000 , 99999).$file_ext); // Move Image From Temporary Location To Permanent Location } } if (isset ($_FILES['fupload3'])){ //upload the image to tmp directory $url = $_FILES['fupload3']['name']; // Set $url To Equal The Filename For Later Use if ($_FILES['fupload3']['type'] == "image/jpg" || $_FILES['fupload3']['type'] == "image/jpeg" || $_FILES['fupload3']['type'] == "image/pjpeg") { $file_ext = strrchr($_FILES['fupload3']['name'], '.'); // Get The File Extention In The Format Of , For Instance, .jpg, .gif or .php $copy = copy($_FILES['fupload3']['tmp_name'], "$idir" . $_FILES['fupload3']['name'] $file_ext).rand(10000 , 99999).$file_ext); // Move Image From Temporary Location To Permanent Location } } if (isset ($_FILES['fupload4'])){ //upload the image to tmp directory $url = $_FILES['fupload4']['name']; // Set $url To Equal The Filename For Later Use if ($_FILES['fupload4']['type'] == "image/jpg" || $_FILES['fupload4']['type'] == "image/jpeg" || $_FILES['fupload4']['type'] == "image/pjpeg") { $file_ext = strrchr($_FILES['fupload4']['name'], '.'); // Get The File Extention In The Format Of , For Instance, .jpg, .gif or .php $copy = copy($_FILES['fupload4']['tmp_name'], "$idir" . $_FILES['fupload4']['name'] $file_ext).rand(10000 , 99999).$file_ext); // Move Image From Temporary Location To Permanent Location } } $usr = "user"; $pwd = "pass"; $db = "db"; $host = "host"; # connect to database $cid = mysql_connect($host,$usr,$pwd); if (!$cid) { echo("ERROR: " . mysql_error() . Any tips on how to do it would be appreciated. The code I have for generating the directory is: <?php function handleError() { trigger_error('MY ERROR'); /** usage sample @handleError(); echo $php_errormsg; */ } // detect slash/backslash nomenclature dirname $path = dirname( __FILE__ ); $slash = '/'; (stristr( $path, $slash )) ? '' : $slash = '\\'; define( 'BASE_DIR', $path . $slash ); $folder = $_POST['reg']; // folder name $dirPath = BASE_DIR . $folder; // folder path // print results echo $slash; echo '<hr>'; $rs = @mkdir( $dirPath, 0777 ); @handleError(); if( $rs ) { // print success information echo 'was done!'; echo '<br>folder: <a href="' . $folder . '">' . $folder . '</a>'; echo '<br>dirPath: ' . $dirPath; }else{ // print error information echo "This webpage <b>www.website.com/".$folder."</b> appears to have been already been created. Please try another web name. If the problem persists please report it to us."; } ?> Hi, im trying to apply a random css class to a div so that a random image is generated on each refresh. This is the code i am using to apply the class. Code: [Select] <div class="<?php echo($randomimage); ?>"> Say i have an array of $image1 $image2 $image3 etc, how can i make $randomimage = 1 of these at random on each refresh? I've found lots of tutorials that generate a random number online but none that generate a random variable and am having trouble piecing this together. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Richard |
