PHP - Updating Multiple Array Daya With Selection And Checkbox Values
Hello,
I am trying to update my database with multiple array values like this. if (isset($_POST['submit_multiple'])) { $id=$_POST['selector']; $class=$_POST['class']; $section=$_POST['section']; $N = count($id); for($i=0;$i<$N;$i++) { echo "update table1 set transfer_status='yes',transfer_date='".date('Y-m-d')."',class='".$class[$i]."',section='".$section[$i]."' where enroll_no='".$id[$i]."'"; }and in the form <form action="transfer_mul_student.php" method="post"><select name="class[]"> <option value="">--SELECT CLASS--</option> <option value="Nursery">Nursery</option> <option value="LKG">LKG</option> <option value="UKG">UKG</option> <option value="I">I</option> <option value="II">II</option> <option value="III">III</option> <option value="IV">IV</option> </select> <select name="section[]"><option value="">--SELECT SECTION--</option> <option value="A">A</option> <option value="B">B</option> <option value="C">C</option> </select><input name="selector[]" id="selector" type="checkbox" value="<?php echo $row['enroll_no']; ?>" /> <input type="submit" class="delete_multiple" value="Transer" name="submit_multiple" />Here $row['enroll_no']is from table student. I have attached the screenshot for the page display with form err1.PNG 12.04KB 0 downloads, In that If i select checkbox1, checkbox2 checkbox3.. it takes the value for class and section properly, but if i select checkbox1, checkbox3, it takes value for 1st record properly and for 2nd one it takes blank value for class and section. But, I failed to proceed on what i intend to do. 1) i need to select an process from the combo box. 2) from the master list, i hv to check the item which belong to the process. 3) upon submitting, save into database. 4) the it will show those are already checked or unchecked. here is the codes i hv done: Code: [Select] <?php require_once '../../connectDB.php'; require_once '../include/paginator.class.php'; $sql="SELECT * FROM tb_item"; $result = mysql_query($sql) or die(mysql_error()); $pages = new Paginator; $pages->items_total = mysql_num_rows($result); $pages->mid_range = 5; $pages->items_per_page = 100; $pages->paginate(); $sql="SELECT * FROM tb_item ORDER BY itm_tcpd ASC $pages->limit"; $result = mysql_query($sql) or die(mysql_error()); function createComboBox() { $sql = "SELECT tb_process.pro_name, tb_process.pro_id, tb_sub_process.sub_id, tb_sub_process.sub_name FROM tb_process INNER JOIN tb_sub_process ON tb_process.pro_id = tb_sub_process.pro_id ORDER BY pro_name"; $result = mysql_query($sql) or die('Cannot get Process. What I want to achieve is a unique number for each member. For instance Currently if the $rand=1289 lets suppose Every code row will become 1289 I want the code rows to be different to each other. I tried a few things up my sleeve but no luck. How can i do this? thanks any help much appreciated. Apologies... I'm a noob trying to reverse engineer code. I have a script that can retrieve values from a MySQL database (based on a session login that recognizes which user you are) and places those values into the text fields of a form, pre-populating the form. Code: [Select] <?php mysql_connect('localhost', 'db', 'password'); mysql_select_db('users'); $id = mysql_real_escape_string($_SESSION['userid']); $select = "SELECT * FROM user_info WHERE md5(Member_No) = '$id';"; $query = mysql_query($select); if ($row = mysql_fetch_array($query)) { ?> <form> FIRST name: <input type="text" name="First" value="<?php echo stripslashes($row['First']); ?>" LAST name: <input type="text" name="Last" value="<?php echo stripslashes($row['Last']); ?>" > Birthday: <input type="text" name="Birthday" value="<?php echo stripslashes($row['Birthday']); ?>" <input type="submit" value="Submit"> </form> <?php } ?> I want to be able to connect to that same database and update ALL the values (3 in the example above) with the single click of the form button. I think I was told some time ago that it's not possible to update all the values at once? Thanks, ~Wayne Is is possible to give multiple values in a single checkbox? i need to have a checkbox that holds multiple values. Help Anyone.. I have a form that has a list of checboxes, each checkbox has multiple values. IE. Checkbox1 has Date 1 and Cost1. Checkbox2 has Date2 and cost2 and so on. This is what I have in form. echo "<input type=checkbox name=service_id[] value=".$id."><label>".$description."</label> Date:<input type=date name=date[] value=".date('Y-m-d').">Date:<input type=number name=cost[] value=".$cost."><br>"; When i run the for loop to insert the values into a table i have this.
foreach($_POST['service_id'] as $key => $value){
The problem is that when I select certain boxes (ie, checkbox #2), it inserts Date1 and Cost1 but does use the correct service id (ie checkbox) What I have is a page with a list of cars, each with a checkbox next to them. Code: [Select] <?php $sth = null; $count = 0; $sth = $dbh->prepare("SELECT * FROM garage WHERE warehouse_id = ? ORDER BY car_name ASC"); $sth->execute(array($_POST['ware_id'])); echo "<table>"; echo "<tr>"; echo '<td>Choose Vehicles:</td>'; echo "</tr>"; echo "<tr>"; echo "<td>"; echo "<form action='warehouse_ship_3.php' method='POST'>"; while($row = $sth->fetch()){ echo "<input type='checkbox' name='cars' value='".$row['uci']."' /> ID: ".$row['uci'].", ".$row['car_year']." ".$row['car_name']."<br />"; } echo "<input type='hidden' name='ware_id' value='".$_POST['ware_id']."' />"; echo "<hr />"; echo '<div class="center"><input class="myButton" type="submit" name="submit" value="Next" /></div></form>'; echo "</td>"; echo "</tr>"; echo "</table>"; ?> That works fine. What I'm trying to do with this second page, is select all the car's info from a table called "garage" which stores data for all the cars (car name, year, etc) and display it. UCI stands for Unique car id, every car has a different id. It works when the user only selects one car on the previous page, but if they select two or more cars, only the car with the highest UCI number shows up. How would I work it to display info on every car that they selected? Code: [Select] <?php if(empty($_POST['cars'])) { echo("You didn't select any cars."); } else { $sth = $dbh->prepare("SELECT * FROM `garage` WHERE `uci` = ?"); $sth->execute(array($_POST['cars'])); while($cars = $sth->fetch()){ echo" ".$cars['uci'].", ".$cars['car_year']." ".$cars['car_name']." "; } } ?> So first of all, I have a confession, I used Dreamweaver to take care of all my database work. Pheww. My problem is that next to each data row, I have a selection checkbox, and if the user clicks on it, he can download the selected entries. This thing worked OK before I employed paginated view, when I presented all data in one page. Now, if I select e.g. 2 entries in page 1, then I jump to page 12 and select another 2 entries, if I click on the "Retrieve" button, I get only the last 2 entries (from the last page visited). How can I solve this problem? With JS? Can I use PHP only? Hi. I have a form with a selection of checkboxes. I am trying to use an array to store the results in a single column of a mysql database. The problem is, instead of the values, it just stores 'array'. Each checkbox is like so: <input name="previous_diseases[]" value="Tuberculosis"/> Here is my code: Code: [Select] <?php try{ $pdo_options[PDO::ATTR_ERRMODE] = PDO::ERRMODE_EXCEPTION; $database = new PDO('mysql:host=localhost;dbname=db', 'username', 'password', $pdo_options); $execution=$database->prepare('INSERT INTO form(title, forename, surname, address_1, address_2, address_city, address_county, address_country, address_postcode, email, previous_diseases, hear) VALUES(:title, :forename, :surname, :address_1, :address_2, :address_city, :address_county, :address_country, :address_postcode, :email, :previous_diseases, :hear)'); $execution->execute(array('title' => $_POST['title'], 'forename' => $_POST['forename'], 'surname' => $_POST['surname'], 'address_1' => $_POST['address_1'], 'address_2' => $_POST['address_2'], 'address_city' => $_POST['address_city'], 'address_county' => $_POST['address_county'], 'address_country' => $_POST['address_country'], 'address_postcode' => $_POST['address_postcode'], 'email' => $_POST['email'], 'previous_diseases' => $_POST['previous_diseases'], 'hear' => $_POST['hear'])); Can anyone please show me what I need to change to get the values inserted into the database. Thank you I am trying to give role based access here. I want to display the pages which user has access in checkbox format. Here is my code $sql = "SELECT p.page_id AS pid, p.page, p.href, ra.pages AS rpage FROM pages p INNER JOIN role_access ra WHERE p.page_id IN (ra.page) AND ra.role=1"; $query = mysqli_query($con, $sql) or die(mysqli_error($con)); $checked_arr = array(); while($row = mysqli_fetch_array($query)) { $checked_arr = explode(",",$row['rpage']); foreach ($checked_arr as $page) { echo "<br/><input type='checkbox' name=\"pages[]\" value='$page' />$page<br>"; } My tables are like this ROLE CREATE TABLE `role` ( `rid` int(5) NOT NULL, `role_name` varchar(50) NOT NULL ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1; INSERT INTO `role` (`rid`, `role_name`) VALUES (1, 'Admin'), (2, 'Others'); ALTER TABLE `role` ADD PRIMARY KEY (`rid`); ROLE-ACCESS CREATE TABLE `role_access` ( `id` int(10) NOT NULL, `page` varchar(160) NOT NULL, `role` int(7) NOT NULL ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1; INSERT INTO `role_access` (`id`, `page`, `role`) VALUES (1, '1,2,3,4,5', 1), (2, '2,4,5', 2); ALTER TABLE `role_access` ADD PRIMARY KEY (`id`); PAGES CREATE TABLE `pages` ( `page_id` int(11) NOT NULL, `code` varchar(10) NOT NULL, `page` varchar(100) NOT NULL, `href` varchar(255) NOT NULL ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1; INSERT INTO `pages` (`page_id`, `code`, `page`, `href`) VALUES (1, 'Patient', 'Registration', '/patient_registration.php'), (2, 'Patient', 'List', '/patient_list.php'), (3, 'Patient', 'Edit', '/edit_patient.php'), (4, 'Patient', 'Export', '/export_patient.php'), (5, 'Patient', 'MRD', '/patient_MRD.php'); ALTER TABLE `pages` ADD PRIMARY KEY (`page_id`);
In above query i get result like this
But required result is
if i change checkbox display like while($row = mysqli_fetch_array($query)) { $checked_arr = explode(",",$row['rpage']); $pname = $row['page']; foreach ($checked_arr as $page) { echo "<br/><input type='checkbox' name=\"pages[]\" value='$page' />$pname<br>"; } } i get result
How to get the names for that file.
Hi all, I have a situation where I need to remember what check boxes where checked over pagination, I have managed to do this via the use of this: http://jamesfunk.com/wordpress/?p=65 The problem is that as the code stood: Code: [Select] <input type="checkbox" name="compare" value="<?php echo $list['jobseeker_id'];?>" class="remember_cb"/> It was treating one ticked checkbox as them all because they all have the same name and are in the a while loop! I countered this by changing the code to: Code: [Select] <input type="checkbox" name="compare<?php echo $list['jobseeker_id']?>" value="<?php echo $list['jobseeker_id'];?>" class="remember_cb"/> Which effectively now makes the checkbox name unique... i.e. compare{id}. The problem with this is that I can now no longer process it. This is my processing code: $jobseekers = $_POST['compare']; $i = 0; for($i; $i<count($jobseekers); $i++){ $query = "SELECT * FROM jobseekers WHERE jobseeker_id = '$jobseekers[$i]'"; $result = mysql_query($query) or die (mysql_error()); while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { // Spit out the required data } } As you can see I am trying to get the data from $_POST['compare'], which will obviously now be blank as I have had to make the name unique.... the trouble is I'm not sure how to actually process this. Can anyone help me out here? any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! many thanks, Greens85 I have a really confusing question. I dynamically generate arrays, but for the simplicity of the example we can just use two arrays. Code: [Select] Array 1 ( [0] = 1 [1] = 5 ) Array 2 ( [0] = 2 [1] = 6 ) How can I make the arrays multiple based on the same key value? array 1[0] * array 2[0] = 2 array 1[1] * array 2[1] = 30 I then want to sum the total of the multiplication. $total = 2 + 30; I need to do this to calculate covariance for a statistics procedure I am trying to run but I can't wrap my head around how to do the logic. Hey all need some help with the subject title. Have a user text file with all information(Name, address, passwords, etc..) Need to be able to select the user based on Checkbox selection then hit delete button and all users checked will be removed from the txt file and thus removed from HTML page. Im using PHP to show contents of the txt file into my HTML page. So far i have: <?php $file = fopen("user.txt","r"); echo '<table border="0" width="100%"> <tr> <th>Select</th> <th>Username</th> <th>Password</th> <th>FirstName</th> <th>LastName</th> <th>Email</th> <th>Address</th> </tr> '; while(!feof($file)) { $user = explode(":", fgets($file)); echo '<tr> <td><input type="checkbox" name="chkDelete" id = "chkDelete" value="select" /></td> <td>' . $user[0] . '</td> </tr>'; echo '</table>'; fclose($file); ?> Am unsure as to how i would go about doing this, help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advanced, Daniel. Hello all, I am trying to learn OOP in PHP so please forgive my ignorance. I seem to be having difficulty inserting data into my database from checkbox items. My database has a column for each each fruit. I would like for each column to be populated with either a one(1) for checked or a zero(0) for not checked. Currently, my attempts have failed. I can either get all checkboxes to insert all zeros or I can get the first column to insert a one(1) while the others as zeros. Is there anybody here that can help me figure out what I am doing wrong and help me to re-work my code so I can get this to work? If anybody can help me using OOP methods that would be fantastic. Thank you all in advance.

Thanks in Advance. Hi, My company has 240+ locations and as such some users (general managers) cover multiple sites. When I run a query to pull user information, when the user has multiple sites to his or her name, its adds the second / third sites to the next columns, rather than wrapping it inside the same table cell. It also works the opposite way, if a piece of data is missing in the database and is blank, its pull the following columns in. Both cases mess up the table and formatting. Hi all, I will wish to modify this code to get a choice of multiple selection, so I can select multiple category and not a single as it is currently. Here is the original code: Code: [Select] {if $step==1} <div class="form_content"> <form name="newad" method="post" action="newad.php?step=1"> <label>{$lng.listings.category}<span class="mandatory"> *</span></label> <select id="category" name="category"> <option value="">{$lng.listings.category}</option> {foreach from=$categories item=v name=cat} {if $v.parent==1} <optgroup label="{$v.str}{$v.name}"> {else} <option value="{$v.id}" {if $tmp.category==$v.id}selected="selected"{/if}>{$v.str}{$v.name|escape:"html"}</option> {if ( $smarty.foreach.cat.index!=$categories|@count-1 && $v.parent_id!=$categories[$smarty.foreach.cat.iteration].parent_id) || ($smarty.foreach.cat.index==($categories|@count-1) && $v.parent_id!=0)} </optgroup> {/if} {/if} {/foreach} </select> {* ----------------------- levels drop down categories --------------------- *} {* <div> <select id="category1" name="category1" class="levels" onChange="chooseCateg(this.form, 1)"> <option value="">{$lng.listings.category}</option> {foreach from=$categories item=v name=cat} {if $v.parent_id==0} <option value="{$v.id}">{$v.name|escape:"html"}</option> {/if} {/foreach} </select> </div> <div style="display: none;" id="level2"> <select id="category2" name="category2" class="levels" onChange="chooseCateg(this.form, 2)"> </select> </div> <div style="display: none;" id="level3"> <select id="category3" name="category3" class="levels" onChange="chooseCateg(this.form, 3)"> </select> </div> <div style="display: none;" id="level4"> <select id="category4" name="category4" class="levels" onChange="chooseCateg(this.form, 4)"> </select> </div> <div style="display: none;" id="level5"> <select id="category5" name="category5" class="levels" onChange="chooseCateg(this.form, 5)"> </select> <input type="hidden" name="category" id="category" /> </div> *} <br/><br/> <div class="buttons"><strong><input type="submit" name="Choose_categ" id="Choose_categ" value="{$lng.listings.next_step}" /></strong></div> <div class="clearfix"></div> </form> </div> </div> {* end form_container *} {/if} {* end step1 *} Thank you for your help When I try to select more than one value for my report, only one value shows.
