I have a form that users input user name, password, and email... all writes to csv fine. My problem is I need to concatenate a a string with a variable and some html code will preserving the html when written to the csv.. I need the csv to be this username, password, email, user, category, text with http://sub.domain..com/splash/,something,something here's what i have Code: [Select] <?php if($_POST['formSubmit'] == "Submit") $varUserName = $_POST['username']; $varPW = $_POST['PW']; $varEmail = $_POST['email']; { $fs = fopen("testcsv.csv","a"); fputcsv($fs, array($varUserName,$varPW,$varEmail,"user","title",",category","some text '<a href="http://$varUserName.url.com/splash/>site.com</a>',)); fclose($fs); exit; } ?> and of course I'm getting Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ')' on line 9 Hello, I need help with this issue, I am displaying <a href='index.php?cat=h & r'>text</a> when I do print $_GET['cat'] it only displays h, why ? Thanks Hi guys, I'm using this EOD thingi in order to print a table and get it PDF. I am using TCPDF and following their examples to get the PDF output. I need to print a php variable's value within the EOD. Can you please help me out. Below is the piece of code I'm running. Code: [Select] $tbl = <<<EOD <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="1" border="1"> <tr> <td rowspan="4"><img src="images/m24.jpg"></td> <td align="right" width="150">From the desk of</td> <td>: $contat</td> </tr> <tr> <td align="right">E-Mail</td> <td>: $email</td> </tr> <tr> <td align="right">Telephone</td> <td>: $telephone</td> </tr> <tr> <td align="right">Mobile</td> <td>: $mobile</td> </tr> </table> EOD; the $variables are simply ignored. or even if I echo, there is no PHP value. Can you guys please shed some light on this issue. Pretty pleeeaaassseee I have a submit.php file that includes the following jQuery code: <script> [...] request.done(function( json ) { jQuery('input[name=thumbnail-url]').val(json.thumbnail_url); jQuery('input[name=job_title]').val(json.title); jQuery('textarea[name=htmlcode]').val(json.html); [...] </script> I need to remove jQuery('textarea[name=htmlcode]').val(json.html); and pass the "json.html" value into a PHP variable in another php file (functions.php). The code in the functions.php file is already there. The thing i need to do (and i am seriously struggling with it) is placing the value of json.html into a $phpvariable that i can then call from the function.php file. Do you need any more info for this issue? Thanks. Hey everyone, I've come around this problem quite a few times now, so I'm looking for a cleaner way to do what I always resort to. Here's my scenario: The following line is fairly straightforward: $sql_where = " WHERE SUBSTRING(name,1,1) = '".$c."' "; But sometimes I need to explode on some values, rising a need for multiple instances of the above, as in MYSQL's WHERE bla = 1 || WHERE bla = 2 || WHERE bla = 3 Of course, I could always write it out manually, like this: foreach($c as $v) { $sql_str .= "WHERE SUBSTRING(name,1,1) = '".$v."' "; } But I want my code to be more modular. The only solution I've been using so far is something like this: $where_start = "WHERE SUBSTRING(name,1,1) = '"; $where_end = "' "; foreach($c as $v) { $sql_str .= $where_start . $v . $where_end; } I find this technique a bit ridiculous and I was wondering if there was a similar method as say when you want to sprintf like this: $v = 'Bla bla %s bla'; sprintf($str, $v); So my question is basically this: is there any way to use a sprintf-like function that will concatenate variables inside variables? Thanks for any suggestions or input. I finally got my kml to display through the static maps api thinking I could then display my map on the pdf I'm generating using mpdf. But, it is not displaying the image in the pdf. It works fine on a blank test page.
$kmlMap = "<img src=\"http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/staticmap?zoom=15&size=500x300&maptype=hybrid&path=color:0xff0000ff|weight:3|$correctedCoords \" /><br />";Any ideas on how I could make this work with mpdf? I have an HTML list of locations, which I want to separate out into countries and cities, then put in an HTML menu with cities as submenu items of countries. My method is to turn the locations into two arrays, the original one with HTML links and the second one with just the name of the location, see if location matches an array of country name, and parse accordingly. I've done it successfully with a test array of locations $countries= array('Angola','Australia','Brazil','Croatia','France','Germany','Iceland','Italy','Kenya','Monaco','Panama','Romania','Switzerland','Tanzania','USA'); $test_location= array('Angola','Luanda','Australia','Brazil','Rio','Minas','Sao Paulo','Croatia','France', 'Paris'); // used in test, and works But my script doesn't work with the real html data.eg <li><a href="http://mysite.com/category-brazil.php" class="blog-category-link-enabled">Brazil (10)</a></li> <li><a href="http://mysite.com/category-igua00e7u.php" class="blog-category-link-enabled">Igua&#231;u (9)</a></li> <li><a href="http://mysite.com/category-rio-grande-do-sul.php" class="blog-category-link-enabled">Rio Grande do Sul (4)</a></li> <li><a href="http://mysite.com/category-germany.php" class="blog-category-link-enabled">Germany (12)</a></li> <li><a href="http://mysite.com/category-france.php" class="blog-category-link-enabled">France (12)</a></li> <li><a href="http://mysite.com/category-cote-d0027azur.php" class="blog-category-link-enabled">Cote d'Azur (2)</a></li> This part of the script is to identify two consecutive countries and print the first. It works with $test_location but doesn't with $location_short in the final if clause. If I can get this to wotk then I think the rest (not included here) will work too. <?php //$locations_categories is a long string of html links, separated by commas $location = explode(",", $locations_categories); // turns locations into an array of links - works, tested by print $location_count= count ($location); //works, tested by print $countries= array('Angola','Australia','Brazil','Croatia','France','Germany','Iceland','Italy','Kenya','Monaco','Panama','Romania','Switzerland','Tanzania','USA'); $test_location= array('Angola','Luanda','Australia','Brazil','Rio','Minas','Sao Paulo','Croatia','France', 'Paris'); // used in test, and works $test_location_count= count ($test_location); //works //// finds two consecutive countries and prints first //// for ($u=0; $u < $location_count; $u++) { $v = $u+1; $w = $u-1; $location_link[$u] = $location[$u]; //keeps copy of array with links and numbers, works //make array with just country names. No html. For matching against $countries. Retains escaped chars, strips final space. //looks OK and can print out a list of locations but doesn't work in if clause below $location_short[$u] = preg_replace('/(.*)enabled"\>([\w\d\'&#; ]+)( \(.*)/', '$2', $location[$u]); //works, tested, but has string "Cote d'Azur" $location_short[$u] = str_replace("'",'',$location_short[$u]); // Remove apostrophe, so Cote dAzur, just in case, tested //if ((in_array ($test_location[$u], $countries)) && (in_array ($test_location[$v], $countries))) //simple test works if ((in_array ($location_short[$u], $countries)) && (in_array ($location_short[$v], $countries))) // doesn't work {print $location_link[$u] ;} //works when using $test_location above but not with $location_short } ?> Many thanks for any help Hi, I need to insert some code into my current form code which will check to see if a username exist and if so will display an echo message. Hi all, I'm trying to set up a situation where a function loops through a multidimensional array and echos an html block for each item in the $skus['skunum'] array and also increments $i each time . ( Each is a product on the site) The catch is that I'm trying to have a function within that one that goes through the $skus['sizes'] and echoes an option if the substring (shirt size) exists. The idea being that I can manage products by adding 4 elements, Skunum, name, price and size. And well, I'm failing miserably. At this point it won't even work because of the variable scope, I'm getting Notice: Undefined variable: skus from the functions, but am not sure of the right way to get that information. Am I going about doing this entirely wrong or am I on the right track? I was wondering if this could be done... I want to take a variable, and insert it into a URL for a $_GET on a different page? Basically Its a member website, and I want the admin to be able to "accept" or "deny" the application... So i have a page that displays all the applications, and I want it to take him to a different page with all the user's information in detail. Right now it only displays their name, but when the admin presses the link, it takes them to a more detailed page about the applicant, where they can then "accept" or "deny" the application.... Here is what i got so far... Code: [Select] $character_name = "Nightmareinhell"; <a href="admin_evaluate.php?name=$character_name">$character_name</a> Here is the error I get from the code above Quote Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in C:\wamp\www\admin_acceptapply.php Thanks to any help!!!! Hello, I'm working on a PHP register form, all I want to do, is to be able to insert an extra variable into the database: Code: [Select] // now we insert it into the database $insert = " INSERT INTO users (username, password) VALUES ('".$_POST['username']."', '".$_POST['pass']."') "; $add_member = mysql_query($insert); right, so I have the username and password variable being passed. But I also want to pass a variable into a column called 'weaponAttachments', all I want for this variable to be is 5000. I have a variety of variables derived from a post array which all INSERT except for one: $prodname[$i]. Yet it will echo out, and Var_dump shows that it is a string. I have checked the table and the field is a 50 character varchar. If I hard code into my app 'foobar' ( a string ! ) instead of the variable it will insert. Theother variables that I am using will also insert - ok they are floats and ints. If I remove the $prodname[$i] from my query, the query executes fine with the remaining values, but it fails with it in. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get this one variable to insert ? I'm using MySQL 5.5 MANY THANKS ! Here is the code: Code: [Select] function confirmed_Order(){ $prodname = $_POST['prodname']; $prodid =$_POST['prodid']; $quantity = $_POST['quantity']; $pricelb = $_POST['pricelb']; $numloops = count($_POST['prodid']); for ($i = 0; $i < $numloops ; $i++) { echo "ProdName".$prodname[$i] . "ProdID".$prodid[$i]."Qunatity".$quantity[$i]. "Pricelb".$pricelb[$i]; // ECHOS FINE var_dump($prodname[$i]); // CONFIRMS IT IS A STRING $sql =" INSERT INTO `confirmedorder` (Prodid, Prodname, pricelb, quantity) VALUES ($prodid[$i], $prodname[$i],$pricelb[$i], $quantity[$i]) "; $this->db->query($sql); } } I use this type of a code to send automatic emails from my website: Code: [Select] $headers = ; $headers .= ; $to = ; Click here to go to Google. ", $headers); I am having hard time figuring out how to do hyperlink on words (like here). If I do something like this: Code: [Select] <a href='http://www.google.com'>here</a> it spits out that exact thing out. Thanks you for your input |
