Quote
I have this code here. i wanted to know how i can be able to make multiple selections from the returned data from the database and how to save them Quote
<select name="troom" multiple class="form-control" required> <option selected="true" disabled="disabled">--Select a room--</option> $records =mysqli_query($con, "select * from room where TRoom not in (select TRoom from roombook where cin <= '$checkout' and cout >= '$checkin');"); while ($data = mysqli_fetch_array($records)) { echo "<option value='" . $data['TRoom'] . Similar Tutorialsif a user were to select multiple items in a selection list I would like to concatenate those items into a list and assign that into a variable. I know I should loop through the list but i'm not sure how I would continue to add those values to a variable. Hi I am pulling my hair out over this, I have tried many many ways on getting this to work but none have. I have a multi list selection box, which the user can select more than one option from. Once submitted this gets sent to a mysql database table. Below is my shortened version of the multi list html code: <select multiple="multiple" size="10" name="special[]"> <option value="Abdominal Training"> Abdominal Training </option> <option value="Aerobics"> Aerobics </option> <option value="Agility"> Agility </option> </select> If have tried putting [] which creates an array in the mysql table field special, but when I echo it back it just echos 'array'. When I try it without the [], and echo it back, it only echos one selection. I am still new to php, but have managed to get my head around a lot, but have been stuck on this for weeks, please help. I'm trying to get this drop down menu to be sticky once the user clicks submit. Here's my entry code: Code: [Select] if (isset($_POST['guess'])) { if ($_POST['guess'] == $_SESSION['number']) { $response = "You Win!"; unset($_SESSION['number']); } else { $_SESSION['tries']++; if ($_SESSION['tries'] < 3) { $response = "Try #{$_SESSION['tries']}<br /><br />"; } else { $response = "You Lose"; unset($_SESSION['number']); } } } if (empty($_SESSION['number'])) { $_SESSION['tries'] = 0; $_SESSION['number'] = rand(1, 10); } And in my body: Code: [Select] <select name="guess" id="guess"> <?php for ($i = 1; $i < 11; $i++) { echo "<option value='{$i}'>{$i}</option>"; } ?> </select> Hey guys, i have a small problemo. As you can see i have made an option list from 0 to 3. How can I put this optionlist in a for loop so I can save some place? I have found an example but I dont know how to integrate it in my php Example Code: [Select] for( $i = 0; $i < 4; $i++ ) { $optionlist .= "<option value=\"$i\">$i</option>\n"; } $optionlist .= "</select>\n"; Code: [Select] <?php $dranken = array("cola", "fanta", "bier", "koffie", "thee"); $prijzen = array("2", "2", "1.80", "2.20", "2.20"); $i = 0; echo "<table>"; while ($dranken[$i]) { $listnaam = $dranken[$i] . "_aantal"; $optionlist = "<select name= '$listnaam'><option>0</option><option>1</option><option>2</option><option>3</option></select>"; echo "<tr><td >" . $dranken[$i] . "</td>"; echo "<td>" . $prijzen[$i] . "</td>"; echo "<td>" . $optionlist . "</td></tr>"; $i++; } echo "</table>"; ?> thanks When I try to select more than one value for my report, only one value shows. I tried a few things, but I'm not having any luck. The first has all the options that the user can select which they can select and transfer to the other multi list select box. I have used javascript to create the buttons which allow you to add and remove selections from the right multi list box. Once I hit submit all the selections go to a mysql database, which is fine. However my problem is that the selected options don't stay in the right hand mulit list box after submission. So I need to know how I can keep them in there, or maybe populate that right hand multi list box with the submitted selections. FYI: once the selections are submitted they are stored in a text field in mysql database, so I need them to come back, as options in the right hand multi list box. Hope this makes sense Below is a link to something similar, just need to sort out the php side http://www.dhtmlgoodies.com/scripts/multiple_select/multiple_select.html Many Thanks I am passing an array to an option list but if a value has two words, the second word doesnt get sent via POST. So if the value should be THE ONE, the word ONE doesnt get sent via POST. Kinda wierd, wondered if there is an easy explanation for this? However, if my post data comes from a text box instead of a selection list, my query works fine. Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong??? Many thanks! Hi, I'll try and keep this brief but it really is a case of searching for needle in a haystack... I've just started working for a UK charity whose main activity is supported by a massive website. Stacks of information sheets, 3 distinct forums (each about the size of Freaks here), numerous blogs, events pages, webinars etc. etc. Essentially, it is an on-line free community that serves the needs of a very sizeable percentage of man and womankind. Like many charities it relies on gratis contributions from those with time or money to spare. I don't have either, but I do believe in what they are doing. The problem is that that the site itself has grown or rather mutated to become a huge data repository, built from a number of contributors with different skills sets and ways of doing things. At the back of it lurks a CMS which staff (a limited number) use to update site content. 95% of the site is in PHP, with a host of other ingredients thrown into the pot (Tiny-MCE, Perl, Ajax, Fancybox, html5, flash, blah and blah). The problem is in the CMS when someone tries to enter a date beyond 2014 there is no option to do so - -.i.e. that's as far as the dropdown goes. I can see the problem but can't find the offending script/files. Anywhere. Here's a snippet from the viewable source for those with keener eyesight:

Hello. I am working on something where I don't want to do this.... if ($pages <= 1){$P=1;} elseif ($pages > 1 && $pages <= 2){$P=2;} elseif ($pages > 2 && $pages <= 3){$P=3;} elseif ($pages > 3 && $pages <= 4){$P=4;} elseif ($pages > 4 && $pages <= 5){$P=5;} elseif ($pages > 5 && $pages <= 6){$P=6;} elseif ($pages > 6 && $pages <= 7){$P=7;} elseif ($pages > 7 && $pages <= 8){$P=8;} elseif ($pages > 8 && $pages <= 9){$P=9;} elseif ($pages > 9 && $pages <= 10){$P=10;} This could go on and on and I would rather use the for $ i++ for this so it will wright out the coding for as little or as much as it needs rather then I. However I am not sure how I would do this. I also have if ($PN == 1){$L = "0,20";} elseif ($PN == 2){$L = "20,20";} elseif ($PN == 3){$L = "40,20";} elseif ($PN == 4){$L = "60,20";} elseif ($PN == 5){$L = "80,20";} elseif ($PN == 6){$L = "100,20";} were I will need to be able to add 20 to the number. Is this easily done? I'm a bit loss tried a few things and its not working properly. Hi, I'm a php newbie, with some mysql experience. I have a mysql database as follows: Database=watch, Table=events - fields id, reportno, sdate, comments What I need is: 1. A dropdown list to display reportno from mysql database. 2. Depending on which reportno I choose, I'd like to open a popup(or separate) page to display the stored information. Tks in advance for any help Hi I have a list of states using the array method in a form. The drop down menu works fine. I want to save the user choice,if the form is re-displayed due to a blank field or pattern mismatch. I know I can use the selected=selected, but don't know wher to put the statement: My array is: state_province = array ("list of states", "provinces") Var in my labels array is "state"=>"state" Here is my code for the select/option statement: { if($field == "state") { echo "<div class='province_state'><label for='state' size='10'>* Province/State</label><select>"; foreach($state_province as $state) { echo "\n<option value='$state_province' /> "; echo $state ; echo "</option>"; } echo "</select></div>\n"; } ?Is this the correct code to add and where would I add it? if(@$_POST['state'] == $value) { echo "selected='selected' "; } Hi I have a results page from a MySQL query and I have implemented pagination to present data in chunks of 25 per page in a table view (each row => 1 entry). My problem is that next to each data row, I have a selection checkbox, and if the user clicks on it, he can download the selected entries. This thing worked OK before I employed paginated view, when I presented all data in one page. Now, if I select e.g. 2 entries in page 1, then I jump to page 12 and select another 2 entries, if I click on the "Retrieve" button, I get only the last 2 entries (from the last page visited). How can I solve this problem? With JS? Can I use PHP only? Hello, I am trying to update my database with multiple array values like this. if (isset($_POST['submit_multiple'])) { $id=$_POST['selector']; $class=$_POST['class']; $section=$_POST['section']; $N = count($id); for($i=0;$i<$N;$i++) { echo "update table1 set transfer_status='yes',transfer_date='".date('Y-m-d')."',class='".$class[$i]."',section='".$section[$i]."' where enroll_no='".$id[$i]."'"; }and in the form <form action="transfer_mul_student.php" method="post"><select name="class[]"> <option value="">--SELECT CLASS--</option> <option value="Nursery">Nursery</option> <option value="LKG">LKG</option> <option value="UKG">UKG</option> <option value="I">I</option> <option value="II">II</option> <option value="III">III</option> <option value="IV">IV</option> </select> <select name="section[]"><option value="">--SELECT SECTION--</option> <option value="A">A</option> <option value="B">B</option> <option value="C">C</option> </select><input name="selector[]" id="selector" type="checkbox" value="<?php echo $row['enroll_no']; ?>" /> <input type="submit" class="delete_multiple" value="Transer" name="submit_multiple" />Here $row['enroll_no']is from table student. I have attached the screenshot for the page display with form err1.PNG 12.04KB 0 downloads, In that If i select checkbox1, checkbox2 checkbox3.. it takes the value for class and section properly, but if i select checkbox1, checkbox3, it takes value for 1st record properly and for 2nd one it takes blank value for class and section. How to overcome this? Please suggest I’m trying to insert from a multiple option form into MySQL. I’ve tried numerous methods and have had issues such as blank entries being inserted for each specified column, to the last value selected from the form being inserted multiple times, but I never get the desired outcome. Any guidance on how to insert from this type of HTML form? I know that there are issues regarding SQL injection - I'll worry about that later. I'd like to understand how to insert data from this kind of HTML form into MySQL, as i can't seem to find any guidance. There's plenty on how to insert from a standard HTML form i.e. where either every value is selected or left blank, but each entry corresponds to a column in MySQL which either receives a value or NULL. I'm really struggling with when a user can select more than one option from a list. Quote
<form action ='insert.php' method='POST'>
Here’s one option I’ve tried for PHP Quote
<?php
{ { } $conn->close(); ?>
I have a search function in php where the text characters are matched to characters in a tables field--- works perfectly.... I need to make the input box have a droplist of words from database, this is also easy for me to do. the problem here is there is no definitive value! the options list always outputs a blank in the url--- its supposed to search a matching value and then output the matching value to url... Here is the droplist code: $output['RATESTITLE']='<input class="inputbox" type="text" size="24px" name="ratestitle" value="'.$sch->filter['ratestitle'].'" onfocus="if (this.value ==\''.$output['LANGUAGE_SEARCH_RATESTITLE'].'\') {this.value = \'\'}" />'; this outputs a input text box--- i want to have a droplist of options to populate this text box... If you must know this is the third day im at it... |
