PHP - How Do You Use Arrays To Display A Form??

Hi there
I am trying to send an array of items to delete from a form, receive them back to the page then enter them into another form and then send them back to the page. Basically its a delete then confirm delete thing.
So I can send the array from the first form though I am not sure how to place them into the second (confirm delete) form.
What I've got so far considering the array does get sent in the first place is

SECOND PROBLEM:If a user has made a mistake, he gets the error message so that he can correct! However, when a mistake in the form occurs, all the data the user has entered are disappeared! I want the data to keep appearing so that the user does not start over again to fill the form.

THIRD: When the erro message is displayed to notify the user that he made a mistake when submitting the form, the message is displaying on the top of the page. I want it to appear below each respective field. How to do that? In JQuery it is simple, but in PHP, I am confusing!

I'm having troubling with trying to create a function to spit out a single array with the following array. I can write it in a away that looks through the arrays manually.

The idea is that id generates a single array with combined labels and arrays inside, etc. I just can't figure out how to create a script that will create this array even If I add a new value or array.

how to display a lengthy form...20 lines of HTML, only if a particular condition is met?
should i use

I have a Q&A Form that consists of 10 Questions with input boxes for 10 Answers.  (Each Answer is stored in its own record in the "answer" table.)

When the Form is submitted, I loop through an answerArray and decide what to do with each Form Field.  For example, if there is a new Answer, then I create a new record by doing an INSERT, but if the Answer is a change, then I do an UPDATE on an existing record.

Following my previous coding style, I assign a Results Code for *every* possible thing that can happen in *every* code branch, e.g.

The problem is that - as my code currently stands - I only end up displaying a resultsCode for the LAST QUESTION, because the first 9 are overwritten?!

Should I keep my current structure, and quit on an Errors, and display a page with that error (e.g. Update Failed), and then just comment out the Succeed messages?

Or do I get fancy and store each Success or Error in an array and display the outcome for all 10 Questions after the Form is processed?

In the past all of this was easy, because ONE FORM equated to ONE RECORD, so Error Messages were easier to display.  But here, I have ONE FORM and up to 10 RECORDS?!

Before I pull my hair out, can I:

form1.html

Retrieve 1 record, 5 columns from the db
Display that data in a form
Allow the user to change any of the column data on the form
Use form action update.php, method post

update.php

use $_POST to capture variables
update db

My main concern is if the retrieved data will be displayed on the form.

Newbie question he I have successfully created a form that that displays students (based on a selected lesson/group/date) with the ability to enter scores.

I'm now trying to set the form up so that if data already exists then it is displayed in the form.

Eg: if a member of staff choses group 7AS, lesson 1, 24/09/2010 and another member of staff has entered a score already for one student it shows up in the <select> drop down by using

Can someone give me some guidance of how to separate Form Display from Form Processing?

I have always used forms that submitted back to themselves which isn't so bad, but then trying to cram in code to display the form, validation errors, and messages after the form is processed all in one file is insane?!

Currently I am working on a simple "Add a Comment" form.

It would be nice to have a separate form processing script, but I don't know where to begin...

My transaction table looks like this.It includes following fields.
tran_ID,account_type,account_number,transaction_type,amount,Date

The records regarding each transaction is stored in this table. I want to know how i retrieve the data from this table into another form or table.The coding is what i want...

My actual purpose would be to allow cash supervisor to update records. But first it needs to retrieve data. Then only he can check things and update if necessary.

Hi, i'm a PHP newbie and am working on a contact form which is below. I've just included one field (email) to make things shorter. In practice this works okay but when the page is first displayed it shows the "No Email was entered" error. I know that I need to include something like "if (isset($_POST['submit'])) is true then process the error checking otherwise display the form however I can't seem to find where to put it and spent all weekend on this now, little help? Once i've got this sorted i'll add the other fields and javascript error checking as well. Many thanks Ryan

 I have a clothing store website which displays all my products with a price range of $0-$25 great on left side of my webpage with the count number beside it like so.

I was told that I could retreive a db record and the fields would display in a form, which I could subsequently change and then update the db. If I am going about it the right way I just can't get the data to display. The echo appears to show I am getting a record.
