PHP - Array_intersect_key() Without Null Values
Is there a better way to have array_intersect_key() return only non-NULL values? Thanks function stripAssociatedArray(array $array, array $keys, bool $removeNull=false):array { $array = array_intersect_key($array, array_flip($keys)); return $removeNull?array_filter($array, fn($value) => !is_null($value)):$array; }

I am hoping that someone can show me the correct way to use php unset to get rid of these null values. Thank you. I have a column in my MySQL database "paid". I have values of p for PayPal, c for check, and f for free. Those who haven't paid the record is marked (NULL). Right now my code is: if ($line['paid'] == 'y') { echo '.</center></td>';} else { echo '</center></td>';} That works pretty well for when I was just using those who paid vs. those who didn't. However, I'm wanting my site to show who has paid vs. those who haven't, while my data table will easily show how they paid. I either need an array or I need to reverse the IF...ELSE to say IF it's NULL do nothing, ELSE mark paid. Greetings folks, I've tried searching on this but couldn't find anything which I think is odd since I'm sure I'm not the first person with this question... I have a project that is basically a big (really big) form. When the user hits submit they get a CSV file. My client will then import the CSV into their database. The CSV is made up of two lines, the first being field names and the second line being the field values. Both the names and values are pulled from $_POST. The CSV looks like this: "Name","Age","Favorite Color" "Bob","12","Purple" The problem I having is if the user skips a question, let's say Age for this example, the CSV will look like this: "Name","Age","Favorite Color" "Bob","Purple" The clients database then freaks when it sees the value for Age is Purple. So my question is, how does one handle null values from from $_POST to avoid such an issue? Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thanks This topic has been moved to Other Libraries and Frameworks. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=350480.0 Hello, I am currently trying to learn php from a book called PHP for Absolute Beginners where it teaches you how to build a blog by "hand". All nice and good until i got to the submit an entry and save it to my database process. I'm using PDO with INSERT prepared statement like so, from a separate update.inc.php file: Code: [Select] $sql = "INSERT INTO entries (title, entry) VALUES (?,?)"; $stmt = $db->prepare($sql); $stmt -> execute(array($title, $entry)); $stmt ->closeCursor(); I have attached screenshots of my database in mysql. What could be the problem? Remeber I am an "ABSOLUTE BEGINNER" :p . Thank you I am facing problem to execute query by assigning NULL value to a variable and then executing query.In MySQL DB four fields Mobile,landline, pincode,dob are set as integer and date(for dob) respectively.The default is set as NULL and NULL option is selected as yes.All these fields are not mandatory.The problem is that when I edit the form my keeping the value as empty in DB these are saved as 0, 0 , 0 & 0000-00-00 inspite of Null. I have tried everything but still the defect persist. Please help me to come out of the problem The code, I have used: <?php //require_once 'includes/config.php'; $dbusername = $_POST['email']; $dbfirstname = $_POST['first_name']; $dblastname = $_POST['last_name']; //$dbmobile_number = $_POST['mobile']; if (isset($_POST['mobile'])) { $dbmobile_number = $_POST['mobile']; } else { $dbmobile_number = "NULL"; } $dblandline_number = $_POST['landline']; $dbdob = $_POST['dob']; if(isset($_POST['is_email'])) { $dbSubscribe_Email_Alert = '1'; } else { $dbSubscribe_Email_Alert = '0'; } if(isset($_POST['is_sms'])) { $dbSubscribe_SMS = 0; } else { $dbSubscribe_SMS = 0; } $dbAddress_firstname = $_POST['shipping_first_name']; $dbAddress_lastname = $_POST['shipping_last_name']; $dbAddress = $_POST['shipping_address']; $dbcity = $_POST['shipping_city']; $dbpincode = $_POST['shipping_pincode']; $dbstate = $_POST['shipping_state']; $dbcountry = $_POST['shipping_country']; echo "Welcome".$dbusername; //if($_POST['btnSave']) //if ($_POST['btnSave']) //{ //echo "Inside query loop"; $connect = mysql_connect("localhost","root","") or die("Couldn't connect!"); mysql_select_db("salebees") or die ("Couldn't find DB"); //$query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM users WHERE username='$username'"); $query = mysql_query("update users set firstname = '$dbfirstname', lastname = '$dblastname', mobile_number = '$dbmobile_number', landline_number = '$dblandline_number', dob = '$dbdob', Subscribe_Email_Alert = '$dbSubscribe_Email_Alert', Subscribe_SMS = '$dbSubscribe_SMS', Address_firstname = '$dbAddress_firstname', Address_lastname = '$dbAddress_lastname', Address = '$dbAddress', city = '$dbcity', pincode = '$dbpincode', state = '$dbstate', country = '$dbcountry' where username = '$dbusername' "); header("location:my_account.php"); //} //else //{ //die(); //} ?> I am trying to update the database with isset to set the value of the variable to either null or the value entered by the user. Currently, if no value has been entered null is being set as a string causing the date field to populate with zeros. How do I code it so that it populates or sets the value as null and not as string null?
Here's my code: (yes I know sql injections it's still in development )

Thank You Edited February 8, 2020 by karthicbabuHi, My company has 240+ locations and as such some users (general managers) cover multiple sites. When I run a query to pull user information, when the user has multiple sites to his or her name, its adds the second / third sites to the next columns, rather than wrapping it inside the same table cell. It also works the opposite way, if a piece of data is missing in the database and is blank, its pull the following columns in. Both cases mess up the table and formatting. I'm extremely new to any kind of programming and maybe this isn't the forum for this question but figured I'd give it a chance since I'm stuck. The HTML/PHP code is below: <table id="datatables-column-search-select-inputs" class="table table-striped" style="width:100%"> <thead> <tr> <th>ID</th> <th>FirstName</th> <th>LastName</th> <th>Username</th> <th>Phone #</th> <th>Location</th> <th>Title</th> <th>Role</th> <th>Actions</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <?php //QUERY TO SELECT ALL USERS FROM DATABASE $query = "SELECT * FROM users"; $select_users = mysqli_query($connection,$query);

// POPULATES DATA INTO THE TABLE echo "<tr>"; echo "<td>{$user_id}</td>"; echo "<td>{$user_firstname}</td>"; echo "<td>{$user_lastname}</td>"; echo "<td>{$username}</td>"; echo "<td>{$user_phone}</td>";
//PULL SITE STATUS BASED ON SITE STATUS ID $query = "SELECT * FROM sites WHERE site_manager_id = {$user_id} "; $select_site = mysqli_query($connection, $query); while($row = mysqli_fetch_assoc($select_site)) { $site_name = $row['site_name']; echo "<td>{$site_name}</td>"; } echo "<td>{$user_title_id}</td>"; echo "<td>{$user_role_id}</td>"; echo "<td class='table-action'> <a href='#'><i class='align-middle' data-feather='edit-2'></i></a> <a href='#'><i class='align-middle' data-feather='trash'></i></a> </td>"; //echo "<td><a href='users.php?source=edit_user&p_id={$user_id}'>Edit</a></td>"; echo "</tr>"; } ?>

Hi all, Just curious why this works: Code: [Select] while (($data = fgetcsv($handle, 1000, ",")) !== FALSE){ $import="INSERT into $prodtblname ($csvheaders1) values('$data[0]','$data[1]','$data[2]','$data[3]','$data[4]','$data[5]','$data[6]')"; } And this does not: $headdata_1 = "'$data[0]','$data[1]','$data[2]','$data[3]','$data[4]','$data[5]','$data[6]'"; while (($data = fgetcsv($handle, 1000, ",")) !== FALSE){ $import="INSERT into $prodtblname ($csvheaders1) values($headdata_1)"; }it puts $data[#'s] in the database fields instead of the actual data that '$data[0]','$data[1]'... relates to. I wrote a script to create the values in $headdata_1 based on the number of headers in $csvheaders1 but can't seem to get it working in the sql statement. Thanks Hi all, I'm a first time poster here and I would really appreciate some guidance with my latest php challenge! I've spent the entire day googling and reading and to be honest I think I'm really over my head and need the assistance of someone experienced to advise the best way to go! I have a multi dimensional array that looks like (see below); the array is created by CodeIgniter's database library (the rows returned from a select query) but I think this is a generic PHP question as opposed to having anything to do with CI because it related to working with arrays. I'm wondering how I might go about searching the array below for the key problem_id and a value equal to a variable which I would provide. Then, when it finds an array with a the matching key and variable, it outputs the other values in that part of the array too. For example, using the sample data below. How would you recommend that I search the array for all the arrays that have the key problem_id and the value 3 and then have it output the value of the key problem_update_date and the value of the key problem_update_text. Then keep searching to find the next occurrence? Thanks in advance, as above, I've been searching really hard for the answer and believe i'm over my head! Output of print_r($updates); CI_DB_mysql_result Object ( [conn_id] => Resource id #30 [result_id] => Resource id #35 [result_array] => Array ( ) [result_object] => Array ( ) [current_row] => 0 [num_rows] => 5 [row_data] => ) Output of print_r($updates->result_array()); Array ( [0] => Array ( [problem_update_id] => 1 [problem_id] => 3 [problem_update_date] => 2010-10-01 [problem_update_text] => Some details about a paricular issue [problem_update_active] => 1 ) [1] => Array ( [problem_update_id] => 4 [problem_id] => 3 [problem_update_date] => 2010-10-01 [problem_update_text] => Another update about the problem with an ID of 3 [problem_update_active] => 1 ) [2] => Array ( [problem_update_id] => 5 [problem_id] => 4 [problem_update_date] => 2010-10-12 [problem_update_text] => An update about the problem with an ID of four [problem_update_active] => 1 ) [3] => Array ( [problem_update_id] => 6 [problem_id] => 4 [problem_update_date] => 2010-10-12 [problem_update_text] => An update about the problem with an ID of 6 [problem_update_active] => 1 ) [4] => Array ( [problem_update_id] => 7 [problem_id] => 3 [problem_update_date] => 2010-10-12 [problem_update_text] => Some new update about the problem with the ID of 3 [problem_update_active] => 1 ) ) Hello All, I tried searching here and google, but couldn't figure it out on my own... still Bellow is my code, I need some help figuring out how to tell PHP that "If picture is NULL, don't try to display it." Basically I have a dynamic news system set up. Some stories have pictures, some do not. I need PHP to not display the code for showing the picture if the picture value = NULL. Any help would be appreciated! <?php include ("../../includes/connections/newsconnection.php"); $id=$_GET['id']; //declare the SQL statement that will query the database $query = " SELECT * FROM news WHERE id='$id' "; //execute the SQL query and return records $result = mssql_query($query); //display the results //id, school, date, link, title, story, picture while($row = mssql_fetch_array($result)) { echo "<span class='bodyb'>"; echo $row["title"]; echo "</span>"; echo "<br /><i>"; echo date('l, F j, Y', strtotime($row['date'])); echo "</i>"; echo "<br /><br />"; //heres where I need to stop if picture is null echo "<img src='../../images/news/"; echo $row["picture"]; echo "' align='left' class='imgspacer-left'>"; echo fixQuotes($row["story"]); } //close the connection mssql_close($dbhandle); ?> My code; $sql = "SELECT SUM(IF(`submitdate` IS NULL , 1 , 0 )) as 'Survey Started But Not Completed' FROM `survey_$surveyid`"; $statement = $dbh->prepare($sql); $statement->execute(); $result = $statement->fetch(PDO::FETCH_OBJ); //pass that data to an objectIs returning; stdClass Object ( [Survey Started But Not Completed] => ) I need to set this to a vaule that I can actually print out on the screen... Like a "0" for example. At the moment it is just a NULL. How do I do this?? These don't work; $result = 0; $result = array(['Survey Started But Not Completed'] => "0"); 2 PART QUESTION (so I don't have to ask two questions 😀 )
1.)
2.) On my particular coding, I can use either the NULL/isset style, or, the ""/== style, with no errors or ill effects.... but something tells me the expert PHP coders prefer one over the other...
