PHP - Was This A Php Issue Or An Html5 Drop Down Issue ?
Folks, I remember once having a php or html5 issue where the first option had to be blank in the drop down. Otherwise, it wasn't working. What wasn't working ? How wasn't working ? I can't remember. either php had difficulty reading user input or the drop down was not showing any options. And so, I had to add a blank value. So, something like this wasn't working ...
<label for="tos_agreement">Agree to TOS or not ?</label> <select name="tos_agreement" id="tos_agreement"> <option value="yes">Yes</option> <option value="no">No</option> </select>
And, I think I added a blank value, at somebody's advice, to get it to work. I think it was something like this, if I remember correctly:
<label for="tos_agreement">Agree to TOS or not ?</label> <select name="tos_agreement" id="tos_agreement"> <option value=" ">Select here</option> <option value="yes">Yes</option> <option value="no">No</option> </select>
Or, maybe it was something like this:
<label for="tos_agreement">Agree to TOS or not ?</label> <select name="tos_agreement" id="tos_agreement"> <option value=" "></option> <option value="yes">Yes</option> <option value="no">No</option> </select>
I can't remember. All I remember slightly that there was a blank value. I been going through my php files to find that particular file to jog my memory but I failed to find it. Can you folks explain to me if a blank value is required or not ? What is the benefit/disaster of adding it and how should the blank value be added ? Show me an example.
Was this a php or html 5 issue ? Can anybody fugure ?
Thank You Similar TutorialsHi, I have this code below which groups all the SubHeading together and then queries the same table to find RiskConsequence which are grouped that match SubHeading then to query this table one more last time with all the Risk Mitigation that matches the grouped RiskConsequence. Problem I get is it does the SubHeading, the RiskConsequences it only does one of them not all of them before it moves onto the RiskMitigation. I know I have a php coding issue just cant see the wood from the tree's as the queries work. Code: [Select] <?php include ("include.php"); $query = "SELECT * FROM tblriskassessmentdatabank GROUP BY SubHeading"; $results = mysql_query($query) or die("Error: " . mysql_error()); while($row1 = mysql_fetch_array($results)){ echo'<a href="#" onClick="return(changeDisplay(';echo"'";echo($row1[SubHeading]);echo"'))";echo'">';echo($row1[SubHeading]);echo'</a><br /><br />'; echo'<div id="';echo($row1[SubHeading]); echo'" class="HideText">'; $risksub = $row1[SubHeading]; $query1 = "SELECT * FROM tblriskassessmentdatabank GROUP By RiskConsequence"; $results1 = mysql_query($query1) or die("Error: " . mysql_error()); while($row2 = mysql_fetch_array($results1)){ echo'<a href="#" onClick="return(changeDisplay(';echo"'";echo($row2[RiskConsequence]);echo"'))";echo'">';echo($row2[RiskConsequence]);echo'</a><br />'; echo'<div id="';echo($row2[RiskConsequence]); echo'" class="HideText">'; $risksub1 = $row2[RiskConsequence]; $query1 = "SELECT * FROM tblriskassessmentdatabank WHERE RiskConsequence = '$risksub1'"; $results1 = mysql_query($query1) or die("Error: " . mysql_error()); while($row3 = mysql_fetch_array($results1)){ echo'<input name="checkbox[]" type="checkbox" id="checkbox[]" value="';echo($row3[IssueNumber]);echo'" /> <label for="checkbox[]"></label>';echo($row3[RiskMitigation]);echo'<br /><br />'; } echo'</div>'; } echo'</div>'; } ?> I have a script that saves a full size and a cropped version that is re-sized to 200x200. The full size saves just fine the cropped and re-sized version is all messed up. Any idea if perhaps PHP isnt capable of retreiving such data or if maybe i'm doing something wrong. Thanks! Greetings =), seems i'm stumped again. lol What I want to do is check to see if a row exists if it does assign the variable to the $deposit variable to $row['price_each'] If it does not exist, i want it to assign the variable $deposit = 0 Here is my code, I think I am doing something wrong, becuase it keeps giving me the undefined variable for $deposit, when the statment i wrote should make it work. Rewrite rule: RewriteRule ^u/(.*)$ /profile.php?u=$1 [QSA,L] On my profile page I have: Code: [Select] if (isset($_GET["u"])) { $username = mres($_GET["u"]); } else if (isset($user_info["username"])) { $username = mres($user_info["username"]); } The really odd thing is that when I hover over the link. Firefox even displays domain.com/account-settings in the explore at the bottom of the page. Any idea why this is getting rewritten? Hello, I don't have any php knowledge and am having a hard time trying to implement the following: - a drupal node is getting a numeric parameter with the URL in the following form "http://the.url/?X=123" - what I want is for the script to check if the value has been passed with the URL, then use it in a form... if the entered URL was "http://the.url" without the X variable, then use a default value of 321. <?php $_GET['X']; if (isset($X)) { print $X ; } else print "321" ?> Thanks in advance for your help. The first run of my for loop does not execute, but all after that works. I know I need to define my $strings before the for loop because they do not take effect until it has ran once and that is why it does not show the first run. But I don't completely understand how to solve the issue, and have tried everything to my knowledge. The code below imports a steam group page xml and gets the unique ids for each of the groups members, then retrieves information about members. <?php $groupxml = simplexml_load_file('http://steamcommunity.com/groups/MDK-Society/memberslistxml/?xml=1'); $members = $groupxml->memberCount; $array = $groupxml->members->steamID64; for($arraycount="0"; $arraycount<$members; $arraycount=$arraycount+1){ $xml = simplexml_load_file("http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/$array[$arraycount]/?xml=1"); echo "<a href=\"#\" title=\"<img src=$xml->avatarMedium align=right /> $xml->steamID<br />$xml->stateMessage<br /><br />Location: $xml->location<br />$xml->summary\"><img src=\"$xml->avatarMedium\" /></a>"; echo "<br>"; if ("$xml->onlineState" == "online") { echo "<img src=\"images/stateonlinemaster.png\" />"; } elseif ("$xml->onlineState" == "offline") { echo "<img src=\"images/stateofflinemaster.png\" />"; } else { echo "<img src=\"images/stateingamemaster.png\" />"; } echo "<br>"; echo "<br>"; } ?> Could you explain to me fully where I went wrong in the for loop. Thanks What I have, is a php page that runs over 60 query's a visit, and has over 2000 visits a day. That thousands of query's, and I'm sure this can be simplified easily to lessen the load. I only need to update the data on the page every 12 hours. So, what I'm thinking, is that it would be best to run the query based on time()(every 12 hours), and store that data in a .txt file. Then, the php file, instead of requesting the query over and over, it just extracts the data from the text file. Does this help me at all, or is it useless? is there a better method? Thanks! There has to be a simple solution for this problem that I am apparently too dense to figure out... Say on a single page, I have code like this... Code: [Select] <div id="stuff"> //stuff </div> and then further down on the page, I have code that runs and produces a variable ($i) that is a number. I then want to check to see if that number is 10 or higher, or not, (which I can handle doing ) and if it is 10 or higher, then I want to hide the "stuff" div that is further up on the page. What is the best way to do this? It's like I need the code to run and then go back and add something to the "stuff" div to make it not show, if the variable is 10 or higher. Any thoughts? This has to be easy so I"m feeling particularly newbie tonight Code: [Select] if ($i >=10) { //the number is 10 or higher so let's somehow hide the "stuff" div that is further up on the page. but how? :) } else { // the number is less than 10 so it's cool to continue to display the "stuff" div } |
