PHP - Excerpts - Pull Content Into Column, 100 Characters Max
Hi guys, I have created a column in my table titled "excerpts." Just as the name suggests, I'm hoping to create excerpts of each post in my blog with a max of 100 characters. I'm using phpmyadmin, and it seems to automatically generate "0" in my excerpts column, as you'll see on my site he https://www.visabel.ca/index.php

With the above code, the content is being pulled, but the formatting and styling is not being pulled. The following code is adapted to pull the styling/formatting:

It did not pull the styling/formatting. We’re using GeneratePress Pro + Generate Blocks (no page builder). The static page is built with Gutenberg and GenerateBlocks. By the way, I'mm not a coder or a developer. I know a little about this and about that, but this isn't my field of expertise. This is my code. Data is been pulled from db_faq and Db_2 and then match the records against each other using array_intersect(). And as you see the data from db_faq is been pulled based on the $username. My question is how can I ignore the $username and match all rows in db_faq against the data in db_2? I have 2 other scripts that are almost exact replicas of this script. Only difference is they are communicating with a different table...but its basically the EXACT same structure of code and functions. My tables consist of some int values, some varchar values, and the data submitted in these variables should get written to the table where the project ID is = to the id I'm working with. All of that seems to be working fine but whenever I enter the info into the form and submit, NOTHING gets written to my table....I'm completely STUMPED and P-O'd that I just wasted a complete 2 hours doing guess and check and cross comparing scripts. Hello again, I ran into problem when trying to pull information for logged in user. I'm trying to display results for current user only who is signed in. Now I do have session_start(); and my query works if I replace '".$_SESSION['uid']['username'] ."'"; with 'specificusername' but when I run my current query displayed above it returns me all records with username = empty (I have some empty usernames for testing reasons). So that tells me that query cant find unique user name that is logged in. I don't get any errors and query still goes through. My datetable structure is
My uid is defined in another document like so and uses another table called "users"

This query works on another page where it displays logged in username in html document. <?php echo $_SESSION['uid']; ?>
I have tried many different ways yesterday to modify my request ( WHERE username = $_SESSION['uid']; WHERE username = '".$_SESSION["uid"]) many other variations, but no matter what never returns logged in user information only empty username records. Can anyone see a problem with that query? or is it due to something else I'm missing?

I then get the image name etc pulled from the database. Is there a way to save that image name into a variable and get it to display on a form that is run from a function - completely independent to my viewing code...
Some sort of global variable, but that could change each time I viewed a different photo - and wouldn't have any effect on anyone else browsing the site etc - so the correct image name would always be passed? |
