PHP - Mysql Doesn't Return Native Datatypes
Hello, My current server setup :
PHP version: 7.1.4
From what I read, in order to have MySQL return native datatypes (as opposed to just strings) : Now, I do have mysqlnd, but a simple PDO Prepared statement still returns me all strings, even though some columns are set as INT, VARCHAR, DATETIME, etc.. $stmt = $pdo->prepare("SELECT * FROM tbl_users WHERE id=1"); $stmt->execute(); $user = $stmt->fetch(); var_dump($user); OUTPUT: array(13) { ["id"]=> string(1) "1" ["is_admin"]=> string(1) "1" ["is_active"]=> string(1) "1" ["username"]=> string(5) "jdoe" ... }
I'm not sure what to look for to resolve this issue if I want it to return INT as INT and not STRING, etc. Does having `extension_loaded('mysqlnd') == true`, make my system automatically use this native mysql driver? How can I tell ? Could this be a version problem perhaps?
Much thanks! Pat
Similar TutorialsI've done pretty much everything I can come up with. The method itself works fine, if I print_r(); just before returning it, it successfully returns the array. But once returned, it's empty. Heres my code: Code: [Select] <?php include_once $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . "/includes/class_database.php"; include_once $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . I am trying to figure out what datatypes to use for different fields in a Database. For ID (Identification) I use INT, for name I use VARCHAR and for people to write text messages, I use LONGTEXT. For date and time I use DATETIME.
What I am unsure about, however, is what type to use for an email adress and for an IP address? I have been watching videos at Youtube about the Datatype for IP addresses, but they don't seem always to agree. I hope someone can put me in the right direction on those two.

Hello. I'm new to php and need a little help please. I try to build a class that return an Array of all the table in my db. and be able to get all the data by there col name (like username, password....) but all i got is the last record from the db. here is the class: <?php class db{ function getall($table, $search){ $sql = "SELECT ". $search ." FROM " . $table; $result = mysql_query($sql) or die('Error, insert query failed' . mysql_error()); while($row=mysql_fetch_assoc($result)){ $data = $row; } return $data; } and this is in the html page: $data = $db->getall("users", "*"); foreach($data as $row){ echo $row['fullname']; echo "<BR>"; } can anybody help me with that? Hi Everyone, Well I have a bit of a problem... I have created a search page that I would like to return results from my MySQL database. However for some reason I can not get my page to display the results. Instead I am getting an error page. Below is the code I am using: In addition to this, should I wish for a user to be able to edit the returned results by clicking a link, how would I do that? <?php session_start(); ?> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css/layout.css"/> <html> <?php $record = $_POST['record']; echo "<p>Search results for: $record<br><BR>"; $host = "localhost"; $login_name = "root"; $password = "P@ssword"; //Connecting to MYSQL MySQL_connect("$host","$login_name","$password"); //Select the database we want to use mysql_select_db("schedules_2010") or die("Could not find database"); $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM schedule_september_2010 WHERE champ LIKE '%$record%' ") or die(mysql_error()); // keeps getting the next row until there are no more to get while($row = mysql_fetch_array( $result )) { // Print out the contents of each row echo "<br><p>Your Schedule<BR></p><br>"; echo "<table border=1>\n"; echo "<tr> <td bgcolor=#444444 align=center><p><b>Champ</p></td> <td bgcolor=#444444 align=center><p><b>Date</p></td> <td bgcolor=#444444 align=center><p><b>Start Time</p></td> <td bgcolor=#444444 align=center><p><b>End Time</p></td> <td bgcolor=#444444 align=center><p><b>Department</p></td> <td bgcolor=#444444 align=center><p><b>First Break</p></td> <td bgcolor=#444444 align=center><p><b>Second Break</p></td> <td bgcolor=#444444 align=center><p><b>Login ID</p></td> </tr>\n"; do { printf("<tr> <td><p>%s</p></td> <td><p>%s</p></td> <td><p>%s</p></td> <td><p>%s</p></td> <td><p>%s</p></td> <td><p>%s</p></td> <td><p>%s</p></td> <td><p>%s</p></td> </tr>\n" , $row["champ"] , $row["date_time"] , $row["start_time"] , $row["end_time"] , $row["department"] , $row["first_break"] , $row["second_break"] , $row["login_id"] ); } while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)); echo "</table>\n"; } else { echo "$champ No Records Found"; } mysql_free_result($result); mysql_close($con); ?> </html> I have found postings close, but not close enough to find my error. I am looking up data from a MySql table and putting it in a dropdown box on a form. I can select the item, but apparently not really. I am not able to echo it, or post it to a record. I'm sure I am missing something simple, but... Code attached if anyone can show me the errors of my ways. Thank you. Hey Everyone, I want to start out by saying thanks in advance for reading this. Since I started working with the XAMPP package this community has been a great resource, though this is my first post. most of my work has been modifying existing stuff in our network, this is my first project from scratch. I am working on an access control project where I am storing site names and RFID tags in a table, and using PHP to check for existing records. Basically, I want to submit 2 credentials from a host (site and RFID), check if they exist together in the table, if so return TRUE or 1, if not return FALSE or 0. I am new to both PHP and MySQL (although I took a course years ago) so I am looking here for help. On this server I have XAMPP installed and everything I need running. I have a table and created a few records for testing. My current trouble is getting PHP to return the proper values for the SQL query. The SQL query works fine, I think - it returns the number of rows that match and that record. I'm not sure this is the result I need to be able to deal with the way I want. Using other resources my current PHP statement looks like this: Code: [Select] if(mysql_num_rows(mysql_query("SELECT * FROM `users` WHERE 'site_name' LIKE 'berland' AND 'card_id' LIKE '290093C84E' LIMIT 0 , 30"))>0){echo '1';} else {echo '0';} So, my table has the entry as noted in this query above. Final one will be dynamic where the host will be sending those values - I will likely need help with that as well, but small steps first.;-) Anyway, I was playing around with the end statement >0{echo '1';} but wasn't able to make it do what I want. Any help is appreciated. Thank you. Aaron Given the below 3 database tables I am trying to construct a SQL query that will give me the following result: customer_favourites.cust_id customer_favourites.prod_id OR product.id product.code product.product_name product.hidden product_ section.section_id (MUST BE ONLY THE ROW WITH THE LOWEST SECTION ID, I.E. ROW ID #44108) product_ section.catpage (MUST BE ONLY THE ROW WITH THE LOWEST SECTION ID, I.E. ROW ID #44108) product_ section.relative_order (MUST BE ONLY THE ROW WITH THE LOWEST SECTION ID, I.E. ROW ID #44108) I currently have.... SELECT customer_favourites.cust_id, customer_favourites.prod_id, product.code, product.product_name, product.hidden, product_section.section_id, product_section.relative_order, product_section.catpage FROM customer _favourites INNER JOIN product ON customer_favourites.prod_id = product.id INNER JOIN product_section ON product_section.product_code = product.code WHERE `cust_id` = '17' AND `hidden` = '0' GROUP BY `code` ORDER BY `section_id` ASC, `relative_order` ASC, `catpage` ASC LIMIT 0,30 This gives me what I want but only sometimes, at other times it randomly selects any row from the product_section table. I was hoping that by having the row I want as the last row (most recent added) in the product_section table then it would select that row by default but it is not consistent. Somehow, I need to be able to specify which row to return in the product_section table, it needs to be the row with the lowest section_id value or it should by the last row (most recent). Pulling my hair out so any help is gratefully received. customer_favourites id cust_id prod_id 70 4 469 product id code product_name hidden 469 ABC123 My Product 0 product_section id section_id catpage product_code relative_order recommended 44105 19 232 ABC123 260 1 44106 3 125 ABC123 87 1 44107 2 98 ABC123 128 1 44108 1 156 ABC123 58 0 Hey all
I have been building sites for a long time and I am pretty confident in modern frameworks like Bootstrap etc. I have played about with JQuery Mobile and UI. I know how to make mobile sites from a front end side. I understand that I can upload my site to PhoneGap and turn it into a native app.
However, I would love to know how to make useful apps that dont just display static text. E.g. using things like Google Places API.
I know how to make mobile sites easily enough that display info. I just don't really understand how to link that up with dynamic data from APIs etc. How to feed that content back to the user.
For a vasic example, say I wanted to have a simple app that had a search box. You enter 'PIZZA' into it and it comes back with a result of all local pizza spots. How would I do that?
If someone could point me in the right direction for where I could experiment with this I would be really grateful . There is a picture with dimensions of 10000 by 10000 pixels. Need to display a picture with dimensions of 200 by 100. Only need to use native php. good day dear community, this is a big issue. I have to decide: between native PHP DOM Extension or of simple DOM html parser well i want to parse the site he http://buergerstiftungen.de/cps/rde/xchg/SID-A7DCD0D1-702CE0FA/buergerstiftungen/hs.xsl/db.htm http://buergerstiftungen.de/cps/rde/xchg/SID-A7DCD0D1-702CE0FA/buergerstiftungen/hs.xsl/db.htm I will suggest to use the native PHP "DOM" Extension instead of "simple html parser", since it will be much faster and easier What do you think about this one here...: Code: [Select] $doc = new DOMDocument @$doc->loadHTMLFile('...URL....'); // Using the @ operator to hide parse errors $contents = $doc->getElementById('content')->nodeValue; // Text contents of #content look forward to hear from you best regards db1 I am writing a code for a page which will get certain information from database into fields and update edited information. If I remove the insert the alert and the redirect works... why? This is part of the code of my 3 files: registration.php (ajax call) $('#submit').click(function() {var username2 = $('#uname2').val(); var password2 = $('#psw2').val(); $.ajax({ url: 'ajax/response.php', type: 'GET', data: {username2 : username2, password2: password2}, success: function(data) { if(data === 'correct') { alert("Username and Password have been created!"); //don' work with the insert location.replace("main.php"); //don' work with the insert } else { alert("Username or password are not correct... please register yourself!"); } } }); }); response.php (answer to ajax call) if(isset($_GET['username2']) && isset($_GET['password2'])) {$username2 = $_GET['username2']; $password2 = $_GET['password2']; if (checkUser($pdo, $username2) === true) { echo 'duplicate'; } else { insertUserPwd($pdo, $username2, $password2); //including this line the redirect and the alert doesn't work... the insert is OK echo 'correct'; } } data_access.php (the function works but doesn't permit alert and redirect to appear) function insertUserPwd(PDO $pdo, $usr, $pwd){ $data = [ 'id' => '', 'user' => $usr, 'password' => $pwd ]; $sql = "INSERT INTO users (id, user, password) VALUES (:id, :user, :password)"; $stmt= $pdo->prepare($sql); $stmt->execute($data); } Can someone help me to fix the code?
Hi, this query runs fine when I run it from PHPMyAdmin: UPDATE `tran_term_taxonomy` SET `description` = (SELECT keyword from `good_keywords` ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 1,1) WHERE `tran_term_taxonomy`.`taxonomy` = 'post_tag' AND `tran_term_taxonomy`.`description` = "" LIMIT 1 However, when I run the same query in a PHP file on my server, the page doesn't load at all. The message I get is: www.somesite.com is currently unable to handle this request. HTTP ERROR 500. This is my PHP code: <?php include("/database/connection/path/db_connect.php"); $result4 = mysqli_query($GLOBALS["___mysqli_ston"], "UPDATE `tran_term_taxonomy` SET `description` = (SELECT keyword from `good_keywords` ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 1,1) WHERE `tran_term_taxonomy`.`taxonomy` = 'post_tag' AND `tran_term_taxonomy`.`description` = "" LIMIT 1"); echo $result4; ?> So how do I make this query work please?
