I have a simple page for someone to enter text in a textbox to save in a database to display on another page. There are 10 textboxes on the page. I can enter text into any and all textboxes and it'll save the data in the database, EXCEPT if I enter text into the 2nd textbox. If there's anything in the 2nd textbox after I click submit, it will delete whatever was in the 2nd textbox and move all data in each textbox (except textbox 1, which stays in the same place) down one element. And it pushes the data in the final textbox off the page (presumably because there's no other textbox to accept its data). Here is the code to the two pages affected. Any help would be appreciated! Code: [Select] <?php // start the session session_start(); if (!session_is_registered($_SESSION['myusername'])) { header ('location:./login.php'); } $i=1; require_once('./dbconnect.php'); $sql="SELECT `event` FROM `events`"; $result=mysql_query($sql); mysql_close(); ?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head> <title>Admin Portal</title> </head> <body> <form name="events" method="post" action="eventlogging.php"> <table width="800" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="1" bgcolor="#CCCCCC"> <tr> <td> <table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="0" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <tr> <td colspan="3" bgcolor="#CCCCCC"> <strong><p><strong>Admin Portal</strong></p><p align="right"><small><a href="./logout.php">Logout</a></small> </td> </tr> <?php while ($i<11) { echo ' <tr align="center"> <td align="right" width="100">Event ' . $i . The PHP file should retreive data that keeps changing. What would be the best way to store and retreive the data? Obviously i can do this with a database but that will put a lot of stress on the server as each user keeps polling the database. So i was looking into other methods of doing this. I have tried doing this with a plain text file and CSV files using fwrite to put the initial data into a file with separators. Then retrieving that file and explode it into a multidimensional array again. I am unsuccessful here to assign the key values to the new array. I have also tried many snippets for this but these where also not working properly for me. Maybe XML is the key, i didn't really delve into it yet but it seems i have to get extra programs or parser to actually write and change files? But then again i can't find any working tutorials on how to put multi dimensional strings back and forth between PHP and XML. So what needs exactly to be done. Well i'm creating a game where you can fight each other with 4 units on a turn base. The units have a speed stat that determines when it's there turn to act. Like if (unit 1) has 3 speed and (unit 2) 5 speed they will move like this on the time line (unit 1) -> (unit 2) -> (unit 1) -> (unit 1) -> (unit 2). So the plan is each time the user acts with a unit to increment it's speed by the base value. A script will run each time picking up the next unit in line. The PHP page does a check on which player the unit belongs to and if that matches the players ID it will sent the necessary information. The other player will get something like "not your turn". Tx, I am having some problems with part of the code. What is going on is a user registers info with a form and is sent an email with a confirmation link. The info that was in a temp DB table is moved to a member table. All of this works fine, but I am trying to be able to store an ID and username associated with their passkey info and echo that variable out. This part I am having trouble with. Code is here. <? session_start(); include('config.php'); // Passkey t from link $passkey=$_GET['passkey']; $tbl_name1="Profile_temp"; // Retrieve data from table where row matches passkey $sql1="SELECT * FROM $tbl_name1 WHERE confirm_code ='$passkey'"; $result1=mysql_query($sql1); // If successfully queried if($result1){ // Count how many row has this passkey $count=mysql_num_rows($result1); // if passkey is found retrieve info from temporary DB if($count==1){ $rows=mysql_fetch_array($result1); $FirstName=$rows['FirstName']; $LastName=$rows['LastName']; $UserName=$rows['UserName']; $Password= md5($rows['Password']); $Password2=md5($rows['Password2']); $email=$rows['email']; $Zip=$rows['Zip']; $Birthday=$rows['Birthday']; $Security=$rows['Security']; $Security2=$rows['Security2']; $tbl_name2="Profile"; // Insert data that retrieves from "temp_members_db" into table "registered_members" $sql2="INSERT INTO $tbl_name2(`FirstName`,`LastName`,`Username`,`Password`,`Password2`,`email`,`Zip`,`Birthday`,`Security`,`Security2`) VALUES ('$FirstName','$LastName','$UserName','$Password','$Password2','$email','$Zip','$Birthday','$Security','$Security2')"; //echo $sql2; $result2=mysql_query($sql2); } // if passkey is not found, display message "Wrong Confirmation code" else { echo "<h2>Sorry, Your passkey was not found.</h2>"; } while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result2)) { $_SESSION['id'] = $row['id']; $_SESSION['UserName']=$user_name; } // if successfully moved data from table"temp_members_db" to table "registered_members" displays message "Your account has been activated" and don't forget to delete confirmation code from table "temp_members_db" if($result2){ echo "<h2>Your account has been activated, </h2>"; echo "$user_name"; echo"<p>You may now upload a profile picture</p>"; // Delete information of this user from table "temp_members_db" that has this passkey $sql3="DELETE FROM $tbl_name1 WHERE confirm_code = '$passkey'"; $result3=mysql_query($sql3); } } ?> getting an error for this part while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result2)) { $_SESSION['id'] = $row['id']; $_SESSION['UserName']=$user_name; } the error is "Warning: mysql_fetch_assoc(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in confirmation.php on line 62" For example, I've got 10 input boxes (textbox) and 5 of them must contain date that user enters using calender script, the problem is, all of the boxes that requires date as input have the same id and now only first textbox is populated (logic I know), how can I populate the other ones? Code for showing calendar images next to textboxes which IDs are "a": if ($row['fieldtype'] == 'a') { echo '<input type="text" id="a" name="textbox[]" value=""></td><td>'; echo '<input type="hidden" id="a" name="textbox[]" value=""></td><td>'; echo '<a href="javascript:viewcalendar()"><img src="calendar.png"></a></td><td>'; } And the code in scripts.js that populates fields Code: [Select] function insertdate(d) { window.close(); window.opener.document.getElementById('a').value = d; } I am building a system where people are able to choose a food menu, they can modify each dish if needed and then say how many of each item they need for the order. So when they pick the breakfast menu, it selects all starters, mains and desserts. Should something need to be edited (sausages changed to vegitarian sausages) the user should be able to overtype what has been populated from the select statement) When the form is submitted, the order needs to be linked to the current job which is in a field ssm_job.job_id but the changes to the menu items need to be stored somewhere for the current order only. This obviously needs to be accessile later so further changes can be made if needed. I am not sure of the best way to go about this as i am trying not to save every item in another database (just trying to be tidy) Any advise on this would be greatly appreciated. I have had help on this project in relation to an sql and the background can be found below, the help has been amazing but as this is a very different question i thought i would start a new thread.
Kind Regards I have a textbox which i want users to be able to search the database for zipcodes, I can't seem to make it work my IDE doesn't show any errors but when I test the code everything goes blank, the mysql credentials are all correct the code is, any suggestions would help <form action="index.php" method="post"> <label for="search2" style="color:#FFF;background-color:#0A016D"><b>Search Homes by Zipcode</b></label><br> zipcode: <input type="text" name="zipcode"><br> <button type="submit" name="submit" value="submit"/> </form> <?php $zipcode= @$_post['zipcode']; require("myconn.php"); mysql_select_db("phplogin")or die(mysql_error()); $sql= mysql_query("SELECT * FROM users WHERE zipcode='$zipcode' "); $numrow= mysql_num_rows($sql); while($row= mysql_fetch_assoc($sql)) { echo "zipcode: ".$row['zipcode']." city :".$row['city']."<br/>"; } ?> Hi have a dropbox in php and it works fine btu i want the data selected to go into a textbox: Current Drop Box Code: [Select] <?php $sql = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM favourite_destinations WHERE User_ID =$userid"); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($sql)){ $uid = $row["User_ID"]; $username = $row["Name"]; echo '<option value="'.$uid.'">'.$username.'</option>' ; } ?> name="Customer_Destination" is the name of the textbox I know in javascript u can have a Code: [Select] onchange="document.theform.Customer_Destination.value=this.value"but the drop box stops working when i put this into the select tag name outside of the Php any help how i coudl achive this ? Hello to all, I have problem figuring out how to properly display data fetched from MySQL database in a HTML table. In the below example I am using two while loops, where the second one is nested inside first one, that check two different expressions fetching data from tables found in a MySQL database. The second expression compares the two tables IDs and after their match it displays the email of the account holder in each column in the HTML table. The main problem is that the 'email' row is displayed properly while its while expression is not nested and alone(meaning the other data is omitted or commented out), but either nested or neighbored to the first while loop, it is displayed horizontally and the other data ('validity', 'valid_from', 'valid_to') is not displayed.'
Can someone help me on this, I guess the problem lies in the while loop? <thead> <tr> <th data-column-id="id" data-type="numeric">ID</th> <th data-column-id="email">Subscriber's Email</th> <th data-column-id="validity">Validity</th> <th data-column-id="valid_from">Valid From</th> <th data-column-id="valid_to">Valid To</th> </tr> </thead> Here is part of the PHP code:
<?php while($row = $stmt->fetch(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC)) { echo ' <tr> <td>'.$row["id"].'</td> '; while ($row1 = $stmt1->fetch(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC)) { echo ' <td>'.$row1["email"].'</td> '; } if($row["validity"] == 1) { echo '<td>'.$row["validity"].' month</td>'; }else{ echo '<td>'.$row["validity"].' months</td>'; } echo ' <td>'.$row["valid_from"].'</td> <td>'.$row["valid_to"].'</td> </tr>'; } ?>
Thank you. Hi, I've currently started to modify a chat script of mine to output a moderation panel but the moderation page seems empty(blank) every time I load it. What im trying to do is to take the ID part in my URL via the $_GET and look it up in my database table in the column named id, then select that specific row to be able to retrieve the StringyChat_ip and place it into another table to ban the IP and the second thing im trying to do is to be able to delete the specific row from my table.
My Http link look something like
http://imagecrab.fre.../ban.php?id=159
and my ban.php page where I want to lookup the 159 part and do the banning etc looks like
<? include("admin_code_header.php"); if ($_POST["DeletePost"]) { $id = $_POST['id']; $query = "DELETE FROM ".$dbTable." WHERE id='".$id."'"; mysql_query($query); echo "ID removed from system: ".$id; } if ($_POST["BanIP"]) { $IP_To_Add = $_POST["ip"]; $sql = "INSERT INTO ".$IPBanTable." (ip) VALUES (\"$IP_To_Add\")"; $result = mysql_query($sql); } $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM ".$dbTable." WHERE id='".$id."'",$db); while ($myrow = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $msg = $myrow["StringyChat_message"]; $idm = $myrow["id"]; ?> <html> <form name="form<? echo $myrow["id"];?>" method="post" action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?>"> <input name="DeletePost" type="submit" id="DeletePost" value="Delete"> <input name="BanIP" type="submit" id="BanIP" value="Ban <? echo $myrow["StringyChat_ip"];?>"> </form> </html> <? } ?> hi guys, im new to this forum I'm new also to php, I need help from you guys: I want to display personal information from a certain person (the data is on the mysql database) using his name as a link: example: (index.php) names 1. {"1":{"id":1,"username":"jeremia"},"2":{"id":2,"username":"Ernest"}} Edited March 24 by mahenda I have a form on our website that a user can fill out for custom product. I want the form data to be 1) stored into a mysql database AND after storing said data, 2) email the same data to our sales department. 1) The form data DOES get stored into mysql database (except for the first two fields, for some weird reason) 2) I added a "mail" section to the php file that stores the data into the database, but it is not working correctly. I have stripped the email portion down to sending just one of the fields in the "message" to make it easier for troubleshooting I have included here, both the form section of the html file, and the formdata.php file that processes the data for your analysis. I am relatively new to php so there are going to be some issues with security, but I can work on those after I get the store & email process to work correctly. Please review my code and see if anyone can be of assistance. I looked through the forums and couldn't find another issue that was the same as mine. I currently have a database that automatically sorts itself by the id of the data. But, I am wanting the user to be able to change the sort order via a select box. I already have the select box programmed with the options, but I am not sure how to go about coding the options to change the sort order of the displayed data. What would the best way to go about programming this be? Thank you very much ahead of time!! Hi all. The title pretty much says it all. I really have no idea if this is even possible or where to start. A recent dilemma caused me to have to change a field name with some spaces in it. I have a database with ~65 tables, a majority of which were converted from Access. So I'm curious as to how many others have bad field names. Is there a way to use PHP to go through all the field names in a database and remove spaces? Hi php freaks i am new to php im doin a small project to handle tickets created by customers now i want to change the font color based on the status for example: ID + Name + Product + Status ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1111 + abcdef + bat + processing ----------------+--------------------------------------+------------------------------------------+------------------------------ i can connect to database and fetch it the only place i need help is changing the any help would be very helpful thanks in advance I am trying to use php to loop through an xml file and reorganize the data. For example, if I have a xml file about books and the first xml sub tag under the <book> tag is "<type>" . I would like to make the following tags (nodes?) as child nodes under the type tag. For example, instead of this: Code: [Select] <book> <type>nonFiction</type> <title>Advanced PHP Programming</title> <author>George Schlossnagle</author> <publisher>Developer Library</publisher> <category>1</category> <category>3</category> </book> <book> <type>Fiction</type> <title>My Novel</title> <author>Same Nagle</author> <publisher>Developer Library</publisher> <category>1</category> <category>3</category> </book> I want to make the xml look like this: Code: [Select] <book> <type>nonFiction <title>Advanced PHP Programming</title> <author>George Schlossnagle</author> <publisher>Developer Library</publisher> <category>1</category> <category>3</category> </type> </book> <book> <type>Fiction <title>My Novel</title> <author>Same Nagle</author> <publisher>Developer Library</publisher> <category>1</category> <category>3</category> </type> </book> [attachment deleted by admin] Ok so i have a Client System i built where a staff member register a client, and it stores them in a table "user" i now want to add a table "event" and what i want to do is, use data from "user" to store into "event" and then when a client logins in, pull the "user" information and the "event" information from the username... so for example... admin registers client... stores username password email [just as an example] then admin wants to add an event for that user so the admin clicks "add event" a drop down menu pulls ALL the usersnames from "user" (i know how to do that) enters the date of event and time and occasion.. then that is stored in "event" now this is the bit im not sure of.. when the user loggs in. i want to have an area where it will list events in date order for the "username" FROM the "user" table ensuring that you cant see other users dates? |
