PHP - Upload Files From Php Server To C++ Client Using Curl
i have php at server side and c++ at client side.what i am trying to do is to constantly look for files on server in folder on server if there’s a file in folder then download it on client side and delete it from server folder Similar TutorialsI designed a web form that takes as input a file and that should upload that file on the server. The file is located on the client machine. The page containing the web form is handled by PHP script. I found out (reading 9483658954 forum topics so far) that there are 2 methods for getting a file uploaded. The first one is using FTP, and the second one using $_FILES variable. Unfortunately i have complains regarding both of the methods. Firstly, when attempting to upload the file using FTP it seems that rather the FTP server is calling "upload" a simple copy action (because the only successful thing i could do with FTP was to copy a file from location A to location B, both A and B being on the server) or I don't know to use FTP (which is probably the right answer). Then, when using $_FILES variable, I was forced to include ' enctype="multipart/form-data" ' in the form tag. After a long documentation I finally figured out that by including the enctype blah blah, the $_POST and $_FILES variables were NULL after the form was submitted.Still can't understand why! Are there any other methods for uploading a file from the client machine to the server? Can I get a competent script for this? I wish to create validation rules once which are used both on the client and on the server.
For instance, I will start off with the following PHP object:
stdClass Object ( [rules] => stdClass Object ( [email] => stdClass Object ( [required] => 1 [email] => 1 [remote] => stdClass Object ( [url] => check-email.php [type] => post [data] => stdClass Object ( [username] => function() {return $( '#username' ).val();} ) ) ) ) [messages] => stdClass Object ( [email] => stdClass Object ( [required] => an email is required ) ) )When the edit page is downloaded to the client, I will include this object in some format suitable to the client. The client will then use the jQuery Validation plugin (http://jqueryvalidation.org/) along with the validation object, and client side validate the page. When the form passes client side validation and is uploaded, PHP will use the same validation object to serverside validate the form (I have this part working as desired). My question is how should I pass this data to the client? Originally, I would just use PHP to write some JavaScript. exit('var myObj='.json_encode($myObj));Note that when I json_encode the object, the value of $myObj->rules->email->remote->data->username is a string with quotes around it, however, I can easily use PHP to strip these tags before sending it to the client. As Jacques1 pointed out in http://forums.phpfre...ascript-client/, I should never ever use PHP to generate JavaScript, and should use AJAX to download the JSON directly. I tried doing the later, but found that a callback function could not be included in the JSON. Please advise on the best way to accomplish this. Thank you $account="54646456456464"; $station= "12345"; $options="11-1"; $image="C:/Desktop/Sample Images/usco1.jpg"; $ch = curl_init(); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL,"http://dfdgfsfs.com/kgdfgd.php"); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, array( 'image' => '@'.$image, 'account' => $account, 'station' => $station, 'options' => $options)); $postResult = curl_exec($ch); curl_close ($ch); $xmlobj = simplexml_load_string($postResult); echo (string)$xmlobj->ID->attributes()->value; echo (string)$xmlobj->FullName->attributes()->value;All, I have spend days trying to figure this out without any luck. I am now in crisis mode. I need to get this working asap. The following code works perfect on my local xampp machine. As soon as I upload it to my web server, I don't get any data back. I have narrowed it down to the image i am trying to send is not being received properly. Thanks in advance. Hi, ive recently created a gallery website and im happy with the way everything currently works. However the main drawback is the site uploads using a html webfom which is great for remote users or the odd image. However, as i want to mass upload my existing collection i will need the ability to read a selected folder and then to carry out all the same processes that existed from the existing html form upload. Im also using gdlibrary and checking file types to ensure they are within my allowed list, but im wondering if there are any other common security alerts i should be aware of to keep things a little bit safer if/when i publish outside of my LAN. So in a nut shell i need some assistance with changing my upload process to work for more than one file at a time, ideally by reading a folder, or at least reading X amount of files at a time - processing them then moving onto next batch of files in the list. Then the next part i need help with is checking/improving basic security of the system My server is Linux/Apache/PHP.
When a file is uploaded, I use PHP's finfo_open to confirm that the file have the correct file extension matches and delete them if it doesn't match. I also which file mimi types and size could be uploaded.
Things I do with the files include:
Upload user's files and store them in some public directory (/var/www/html/users_public_directory/), and allow other users to directly download them.
Upload user's files and store them in some private directory (/var/www/users_private_directory/), and allow other users to download them using X-Sendfile.
Upload user's ZIP files and convert them to PDF files (unzip the ZIP file, and uses Libreoffice and Imagemagick's convert to convert them to PDFs).
From the server's prospective, what are the risks of allowing users to upload files? Are there some file types which are more dangerous to the server? Could they be executed on the server, and if so, how could this be prevented?
Hi folks, I'm curious if I can for example, save a file from my server and it will save to all other servers - obviously if they accepted the connection first. It's for a software I developed and is almost complete and know there will be frequent updates to it. Instead of users downloading upates, I want the update files from my server to somehow synchronize to their server automatically? Anything called this?? Thanks for info. Hi, I need to make web site, which will get requests from users that log in and activate those scripts. But, the problem is that the server has to, when the script is activated, send request to another PC with the static IP address. Then, that PC should execute the script, send its results to server, and then the server will notice user who activated it (clicked on the link). So, the main problem is that server - client (static ip) communication, when the server is the first who sends request, not the client. Any instructions would be appreciated, thanks in advance. I have a client and a server solution setup at the moment. We are currently creating an API that will be run on the clients end that will allow their clients to connect to them. On our end, we want to log the number of attempts are API is being used so that we may charge the clients appropriately. My question is this. How is the most efficient way of doing this? Do I call mysql_connect from the client and just shoot the insert log statements across the web. Should I create a php script on our end that looks for post/get input and takes the data and inserts it? What if the client can't connect to our server; should I cache the data and send it off all at once? Should I create a job that every hour shoots up x records API requests happened? Relatively confused at what angle I should be taking when approaching this. I want this to be scalable to a point where we can have thousands of requests an hour, and not horribly slow down apache/mysql running at either end (Specially if the server is talking with several clients). Hello; I know there is a way but I just can't get it out of my head. I have my code that i want to show to the user and then i have code i want to execute but not show anything to user. I no am not making my self clear which i am sorry for so ill give you an example. <? show_my_site(true); // Now i have code which will never output anything but the webbrowser will always wait for it to complete my_function_that_takes_time(true, 'Very Long'); ?> So what i want is some code to tell the browser thats it! You have everything. I cant use die; or exit; because i want to execute the code. Thank-you Paul Can someone please help me in setting up OAuth server and client implementation in PHP? Even after lots of googling I could only find very basic and raw examples which are very difficult to understand. Thanks in advance. So far I have managed to create an upload process which uploads a picture, updates the database on file location and then tries to upload the db a 2nd time to update the Thumbnails file location (i tried updating the thumbnails location in one go and for some reason this causes failure) But the main problem is that it doesn't upload some files Here is my upload.php <?php include 'dbconnect.php'; $statusMsg = ''; $Title = $conn -> real_escape_string($_POST['Title']) ; $BodyText = $conn -> real_escape_string($_POST['ThreadBody']) ; // File upload path $targetDir = "upload/"; $fileName = basename($_FILES["file"]["name"]); $targetFilePath = $targetDir . $fileName; $fileType = pathinfo($targetFilePath,PATHINFO_EXTENSION); $Thumbnail = "upload/Thumbnails/'$fileName'"; if(isset($_POST["submit"]) && !empty($_FILES["file"]["name"])){ // Allow certain file formats $allowTypes = array('jpg','png','jpeg','gif','pdf', "webm", "mp4"); if(in_array($fileType, $allowTypes)){ // Upload file to server if(move_uploaded_file($_FILES["file"]["tmp_name"], $targetFilePath)){ // Insert image file name into database $insert = $conn->query("INSERT into Threads (Title, ThreadBody, filename) VALUES ('$Title', '$BodyText', '$fileName')"); if($insert){ $statusMsg = "The file ".$fileName. " has been uploaded successfully."; $targetFilePathArg = escapeshellarg($targetFilePath); $output=null; $retval=null; //exec("convert $targetFilePathArg -resize 300x200 ./upload/Thumbnails/'$fileName'", $output, $retval); exec("convert $targetFilePathArg -resize 200x200 $Thumbnail", $output, $retval); echo "REturned with status $retval and output:\n" ; if ($retval == null) { echo "Retval is null\n" ; echo "Thumbnail equals $Thumbnail\n" ; } }else{ $statusMsg = "File upload failed, please try again."; } }else{ $statusMsg = "Sorry, there was an error uploading your file."; } }else{ $statusMsg = 'Sorry, only JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, mp4, webm & PDF files are allowed to upload.'; } }else{ $statusMsg = 'Please select a file to upload.'; } //Update SQL db by setting the thumbnail column to equal $Thumbnail $update = $conn->query("update Threads set thumbnail = '$Thumbnail' where filename = '$fileName'"); if($update){ $statusMsg = "Updated the thumbnail to sql correctly."; echo $statusMsg ; } else { echo "\n Failed to update Thumbnail. Thumbnail equals $Thumbnail" ; } // Display status message echo $statusMsg; ?> And this does work on most files however it is not working on a 9.9mb png file which is named "test.png" I tested on another 3.3 mb gif file and that failed too? For some reason it returns the following Updated the thumbnail to sql correctly.Updated the thumbnail to sql correctly. Whereas on the files it works on it returns REturned with status 0 and output: Retval is null Thumbnail equals upload/Thumbnails/'rainbow-trh-stache.gif' Failed to update Thumbnail. Thumbnail equals upload/Thumbnails/'rainbow-trh-stache.gif'The file rainbow-trh-stache.gif has been uploaded successfully. Any idea on why this is? Hi All - I'm trying to see if the below is possible using PHP. is it possible for php to allow a user to check if a port is open/listening on a remote server/PC, from their local machine. I've seen scripts on the web that talk about opening cmd.exe - this won't work as not all of my users will be on windows. Also saw fsock.. but the remote server is not serving http page(s). Also saw telnet, but again, some of my users may not have that windows feature enabled. Desired workflow: 1. user enters the server hostname/IP and a port 2. my php webapp will emulate checking if that hostname and port is open from the local user's computer.
thanks! What I'm trying to do is copy all files from one server to another folder on another server. Here is what I have have so far.. <?PHP //connection settings $ftp_server = "server"; $ftp_user_name = "user"; $ftp_user_pass = "pass"; $dir = "/var/test/"; $destination_file = "/test/"; // set up basic connection $conn_id = ftp_connect($ftp_server); // login with username and password $login_result = ftp_login($conn_id, $ftp_user_name, $ftp_user_pass); // check connection if ((!$conn_id) || (!$login_result)) { echo "FTP connection has failed!"; echo "Attempted to connect to $ftp_server for user $ftp_user_name"; exit; } else { echo "Connected to $ftp_server, for user $ftp_user_name"; } if (ftp_chdir($conn_id, $dir)) { echo " <br/>Current directory is now: " . ftp_pwd($conn_id) . "\n<p/>"; } else { echo "Couldn't change directory\n<p/>"; } $buff = ftp_rawlist($conn_id, $dir); foreach($buff as $files) { echo $files. "<br/>"; if (ftp_get($conn_id, $destination_file."test.file", $dir."test.txt", FTP_BINARY)) { echo "<br/>Successfully written to $destination_file\n"; } else { echo "There was a problem\n"; } ?> That doesn't work. I don't know how to do it here(pass the method name to call). 2. For client authentication they gave us three certs, one root cert, one intermediate cert and a client authentication cert PROTPLUSSOL_SSOpem(it was a .pfx file). Since we are on linux we converted them to pem . In curl calls I could not find way to how to include both the root cert and the intermediate cert ,so I combined them by making a new pem file and copying the intermediate cert and them the root cert and naming it authority.pem . I am not sure whether it works or not and would like your opinion. 3. For the current code Iam getting the error Error no : 77 Curl error: error setting certificate verify locations: CAfile: /home/pps/authority.pem CApath: /home/pps/ If I disable the curl error message,I am getting blank page with page title 403 - Forbidden. Access is denied. If I comment out the CURLOPT_CAPATH and CURLOPT_CAINFO lines it gives http 500 error page with the message as content and the following at the top. > HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error. Required parameter 'fileupload' is missing or your post is not multipart/form-data" What is wrong with the code? How can I send enctype='multipart/form-data' with cURL? I have this code and its downloading file nicely. But I want to show a progress bar while downloading file from external server. My existing code shows progress bar but its not effective (ex. if i try to download two media file, one video and another audio, and video size is larger than audio size the audio finishes first and the progress bar shows 100% also suddenly it drops to 50% as the video is still downloading ). I mean it actually shows two progress and I need one. If I could get average percentage value of two progress that would be better. Any suggestion regarding this will be greatly appreciated. <?php set_time_limit ( 0 ); function define_progress_callback($i) { global $conn; curl_setopt($conn[$i], CURLOPT_PROGRESSFUNCTION, function ($resource,$download_size, $downloaded, $upload_size, $uploaded) { if($download_size > 0) $progress = round($downloaded / $download_size * 100); echo '<script language="javascript">$(".loader").loader("setProgress", '.$progress.');</script>'; echo str_pad("",1024," "); flush(); usleep(20000); }); } $urls = array("http://example.com/file.mp3", "http:/example.com/file.mp4"); $save_to='./tmp/'; $conn = array(); $fp = array(); $mh = curl_multi_init(); foreach ($urls as $i => $url) { $g = $save_to . basename($url); $conn[$i]=curl_init($url); $fp[$i]=fopen ($g, "wb"); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, FALSE); // No certificate curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION, TRUE); curl_setopt ($conn[$i], CURLOPT_FILE, $fp[$i]); curl_setopt ($conn[$i], CURLOPT_HEADER ,0); curl_setopt($conn[$i],CURLOPT_CONNECTTIMEOUT,60); curl_setopt ($conn[$i], CURLOPT_MAXCONNECTS, 10); curl_setopt($conn[$i], CURLOPT_NOPROGRESS, false); define_progress_callback($i); curl_multi_add_handle ($mh,$conn[$i]); } do { $n=curl_multi_exec($mh,$active); } while ($active); foreach ($urls as $i => $url) { curl_multi_remove_handle($mh,$conn[$i]); curl_close($conn[$i]); fclose($fp[$i]); } curl_multi_close($mh); ?> Edited by requinix, 18 January 2015 - 08:16 AM. no code tags meant auto-embedding of mp3 |
