PHP - Insert Based On Post Array Values

I'm new to this group and new to php. I have created a multi-part form that allows the user the option to add multiple input fields to a form to upload images. Here is the form structu

Through php a maximum of three input fields are fed into an array that checks to make sure that the uploaded files are images and not some other type of file. The uploading porition of this script works.

Now I am trying to get the values of the input fields as a string and insert them into the database as one record.

Let's say the user has three files they want to upload. I have managed to get the files as a string ie; file1.jpg, file2.jpg, file3.jpg but what is happening is that I am getting three separate records with  file1.jpg, file2.jpg, file3.jpg in them. If the user has only two files to upload then I get two separate records with file1.jpg and file2.jpg in them. (Hope that makes sense). I want one record.

I have been struggling with this since Monnday and while every day I get closer, this is as close as I can get. Below is the php code.

also i have an array with this values:

and i want to sort(); this array, but it must ignore the numbers behind -aa-zz-

also 4,6,5

how should i do this?

I'm missing something here. I have a form, and when the submit is pressed, the relevant post data inserts into table one, then I want the last insert id to insert along with other form data into a second table. The first table's still inserting fine, but I can't get that second one to do anything. It leapfrogs over the query and doesn't give an error. when i remove the action from the form it submits the post correctly
if not it goes to the action url withoutposting

Hi all,

I'm a first time poster here and I would really appreciate some guidance with my latest php challenge! I've spent the entire day googling and reading and to be honest I think I'm really over my head and need the assistance of someone experienced to advise the best way to go!

I have a multi dimensional array that looks like (see below); the array is created by CodeIgniter's database library (the rows returned from a select query) but I think this is a generic PHP question as opposed to having anything to do with CI because it related to working with arrays.

I'm wondering how I might go about searching the array below for the key problem_id and a value equal to a variable which I would provide. Then, when it finds an array with a the matching key and variable, it outputs the other values in that part of the array too.

For example, using the sample data below. How would you recommend that I search the array for all the arrays that have the key problem_id and the value 3 and then have it output the value of the key problem_update_date  and the value of the key problem_update_text. Then keep searching to find the next occurrence?

hi .. hit little snag Ive got html <form name="formx" method="POST" action="connect.php" class='ajaxform'> and about 4 varibles in that form .. now how to properly query table users so i can find out which prefix correspond with that user Insert into table "upis" in this case that prefix with 3 variables.. everything in single,.. in this case connect.php file I know how to do QUERY and INSERT INTO but i don't know how to connect with 2 different tbl or db and do the query and input of data.. every time I put 2 of them together .. never works out.. this is example.. i dont know is this right way to do it ..

Hi. Im searching for a way to enter multiple records at once to mysql databased on a date range. Lets say i want to insert from date 2010-11-23 to date 2010-11-25 a textbox with some info and the outcome could look in database like below.

The reason i need the insertion to be like this is because if quering by month and by user to see vacation days then vacations that start in one month and end in another month can be summed by one month. If its in one record then it will pop up in both months.

Help is really welcome.

I want to remove the HTTP:// or HTTPS:// from the insert into the DB.  The Viewer may put just www, or copy the entire URL with the HTTP:// or HTTPS://   I tried using the preg-replace but couldn't seem to get it to work.   Any other recommendation?   Thanks in advance, Mike

Is there a quick an easy way to test my php scripts without creating an html form and specifying values that I post to my php script? Maybe a firefox plugin or some tool that can be used to do it quicker?

Hi, During post of my form I am trying to send some table values.  The three field values (DATE, SITE, PRICE) that I want to send are attached to the id field (RID) in the daterange table.  The variable $FTGRID is attached to the RID field.  Here is the structure of the daterange table and the code from the php page related to the email is below.  Do I need to pre-define variables for these three field values?

I am fairly new to PHP and I have built a page which accepts values from dynamically added rows so there is a combination of HTML,Javascript and PHP in the process. I am caught up with a problem

HTML section
In my form I have a table with a column as below and a dynamic "Add Row" which would increment the row in javascript  and assign a new value to the input name as txtRow2,txtRow3,txtRow4 and so on based on the number of iteration

Now comes the problematic part
PHP section( I love PHP  )
I have to insert the column values into mysql and i will do this using a for loop within which I will have my insert statement

Lets say I added 4 rows dynamically with values held in $txtRow1,$txtRow2,$txtRow3,$txtRow4(See the java script section)

how would I use these values in my PHP insert statement as I don't want to write 4 different insert scripts and the following  "$txtRow.i"   won't work

I'm sorting out a simple PHP email form, and I would like, when the email arrives in my inbox, for it to display both the email of the sender AND their name as specified in the form on my website.

So far I have
$from    = $_POST['from'];
with the 'from' being the client's email address. I would also like their name ('name') to show up next to their email in the header.

I have tried such things like

$from    = $_POST['from' . 'name'];

$from    = $_POST['from']; $_POST['name'];

and a few more, but I'm terrible at PHP coding in general. I have searched, but I really am at a loss as to what to search for.

Can someone please give me an idea as to what I should do?
