When will modern PHP copy an array by reference only instead of reassigning to memory?

For instance, when I execute $bigArray=$stmt->execute([$id]), PHP utilizes memory to store the data. But then when I execute $dataHolders[] = new DataHolder($bigArray), I believe $bigArray is passed by reference and a new copy of $bigArray will not be stored in memory. If in DataHolder::__construct, I executed $data[]='bla', then it is my understanding that PHP would see that the array is being modified and will automatically make a copy, but I am not doing so and just state this to confirm my understanding.

The part that I am uncertain about is not the first time data is retrieved but any additional times. When I execute the next $bigArray=$stmt->execute([$id]), will PHP need to first store in memory the array that DataHolder::data references, then release the memory associated with $bigArray, and then store in memory the new $bigArray?

I have this function, but it doesnt work. Basically the list outputs a list of news features, and puts a line under neath each article to seperate them. However once the last article has been reached, I don't want the break to be shown.

this is my code, any help would be appreciated as i am really struggling on this. Just need to determine the last item in the array, and stop the <hr split> from being output.

I am unsuccessfully able to do the following: User creates an account After login, checks server if user has their own folder created If doesn't exist, create it Copy files from source_code to this new folder My code does create a folder, but no files appear inside it. hello - dear phpfreaks, i portet over a wordpress site to localhost. (an opensuse linux-box)

all went nice and was very smooth to do so.

after porting over the files and the db;
i added the db-name and user-name etc. but nothing more.
then i looked at the site http://localhost/mysite

i saw the site - but only once - that is very very interesting.

i read that i have to do more. Probably these changes - mentioned below are mandantory in order to avoid a blank page

The two fields you need to edit are “siteurl” (highlighted above) and “home” (which you may need to navigate to the second page to find). Just click the “Edit” buttons next to each field, and replace the URL contained in “option_value” with “http://localhost/yourfoldername/”.
That’s it! If you now navigate to “http://localhost/yourfoldername/”, your site should load up in all its glory. Please note that if you use custom permalinks, you will need to change them to default (in the WordPress > Settings > Permalinks screen) in order for internal links on your site to work. You can of course change the permalinks back to their custom form at any time.
question: is this true? Do i need to make these changes to avoid a blank page!?

hi i made my very first array, and its working great

now i want to have another array wich does the same thing, but on another category,
it shows gold silver and bronze logos, but now i want to give leaders of other categorys also those logos, but different ones

so i thought
i change from

$array[$snipergameid][$x] = $sniperleaders[playerid]; (part of the code in a while loop)

into

$array2[$snipergameid][$x] = $sniperleaders[playerid]; (part of the code in a while loop)

and i do the same for the result checker loops
but that doesnt work

so how do i copy an entire arrray, and give it another name
to match it with the correct while loop checker?

Hi, I'm not sure if this is a wierd one, I have lots of arrays i'm looping through like this to see them:-

    print_r_html($seperated);

but i'm not sure how to copy the other keys at the same time? If anyone has got any ideas that would be great!

• The number of Rows can vary from 3,6,9,12,15,18 (Max). In this case Number of Rows shall be 12

Number of Rows = No of Tickets (Max Allowed 6) x Rows Per Ticket (Max Allowed 3). Thus, Max Rows can be 18

• Each Row is required to have 4 Blank Spaces and 5 Filled with Numbers

• All numbers available in the Column Array have to be utilized

• This configuration of an shall create a matrix of 9 Columns & 12 Rows (3 x 4 Tickets), which is 108 MATRIX BLOCKS where only a maximum of 60 numbers can be filled out of 108 available blocksrandomly with the above conditions being met 100%.

• The numbers in column must be arranged / sorted in ASCENDING ORDER (For coding logic purpose, as soon as the number is assigned to the new MATRIX MAP use array_shift() or unset() the number so as to avoid repetition

Example - Row 1 and Column 1 shall generate a MATRIX BLOCK - R1C1

Row 3 and Column 7 shall generate a MATRIX BLOCK - R3C7

Matrix Block can also be termed as Matrix Cell for your ease (if needed)

Ok I am designing a php upload that will take a image file from a form and change the name of the file to the productnumber also recieved from the form. I had it working the otherday now it says Warning: copy() [function.copy]: open_basedir restriction in effect File() is not within the allowed path(s): (/home:/tmp:/usr) addpro.php on line 51.

my files are attached.... note that $pnum is the product number gotten from my form and image is the image being uploaded gotten from the form also. The thing is it worked the other day but now it don't is it a change to the server ( I dont run the server) or did I mess up my code since then? I really need a code that will do this two time over once for a small image being put into a folder called small and once for a folder called large both images being uploaded and being changed to $pnum.ext so they will both be displayed when being called out by the product number. but I can work on that after I get this one working.

line 51 is $copied = copy($_FILES['image']['tmp_name'], $newname);

Obviouly it has something to do with the copy() function - (copy($HTTP_POST_FILES['product_img']['tmp_name'], $path))

I think it is not copying from my temp folder or something.

Can anyone help me out?

Clone Creates A Shallow Copy Or Deep Copy?

I am working on an uploader and slowly getting it working, I am uploading 3 images at once, and setting arrays for each one as keys, with an increment of ++1. I am wanting to resize the image before it gets copied to the thumbnail folder.

Everything works with it. As you see, I started on getting the file info, but after that I am totally stuck on what to do after to resize the image proportionally with a maximum width of xPX and height to match it without looking distorted.

Where you see "CODE PLACED HERE" is where i need the video id placed and then for it to be displayed.

Any idea how I would do this?

can anyone help me out with code to create a 2 dimension array from 2 single dimension array. for example
$path = array('base', 'category', 'subcategory', 'item');
$location=array('india','USA','UK','RUSSIA',);
now i need to have a @D array which have the following structure
$final[0]=array('base','india');
$final[1]=array('category','USA');
$final[2]=array('subcategory','UK');
$final[3]=array('item','RUSSIA');

Hi,

I am working on a betting API, The data comes from an XML Feed.

I am using a PHPPhar file to iterate the XML data, Seems to work really well. What I need to do now is iterate each "outcome" type and order it by the highest decimal to lowest decimal value (Best odds)

My current array of data from the XML looks like this (See pastebin for full version) :

Is it possible build an array of outcomes, Then sort by the best decimal price. (I have a function built that can convert the "currentPrice" to decimal. Thnak You!

Hello,

Im struggling with this, probably because of my lack of fundamental knowledge of arrays.

What i want to do is:
make an array with two keys. 'id' and 'distance'.

I want to sort the results by distance, displaying the id's...

im looking at ksort() as the solution, however i don't think im implementing it properly as i dont think i have set the array up properly!!

what i have is not good...

I have a PHP script that populates a calendar based on an array as follows:

$days = array(2=>array('javascript:showWhatsOnText(2);','linked-day'),
3=>array('javascript:showWhatsOnText(3);','linked-day'),
4=>array('javascript:showWhatsOnText(4);','linked-day'));
echo generate_calendar(2011, 4, $days, 1, '#');

where, for instance, the 2, 3 4 are the days of the month,

By extracting a series values from a MySQL database how would I generate this array dynamically.
E.g I have startday, startmonth, name and text fields in the database and would need to loop through them all to create the array.

I tried playing around with something like this without any luck:

$queryCat1 = "SELECT * FROM $dbCalendarEvents ORDER BY id ASC"; // WHERE visible = '1'
         $result1 = mysql_query($queryCat1) or die (mysql_error());
         $num1 = mysql_num_rows($result1);
         $i=0;
