PHP - Database Rsults Formatting:
I am trying to get my database entry's to C# in Unity to display them. This formatting works echo ("|".$row['GUID']. PHP_EOL. "|".$row['userName']. PHP_EOL. "|".$row['health']. PHP_EOL. "|".$row['level']. PHP_EOL. "|".$row['points']. PHP_EOL. "|".$row['killBonus']. PHP_EOL. "|".$row['killRate']. PHP_EOL. "|".$row['kills']. PHP_EOL. "|".$row['misses']. PHP_EOL. ";"); But When I get it into Unity using this code string Data_string = www.downloadHandler.text; string[] DataArray; DataArray = Data_string.Split('|'); //Debug.Log(DataArray); string guid = (DataArray[0]); Debug.Log(guid); string username = (DataArray[1]); Debug.Log(username); int health = System.Convert.ToInt32(DataArray[2]); Debug.Log(health); int level = System.Convert.ToInt32(DataArray[3]); Debug.Log(level); int points = System.Convert.ToInt32(DataArray[4]); Debug.Log(points); int killBonus = System.Convert.ToInt32(DataArray[5]); Debug.Log(killBonus); float killRate = float.Parse(DataArray[6]); Debug.Log(killRate); float kills = float.Parse(DataArray[7]); Debug.Log(kills); float misses = float.Parse(DataArray[8]); Debug.Log(misses); It puts out the first string "GUID" but then throws an error before "username". Can someone help me understand what I am doing wrong?
This is the error I am getting.

Here is what i am a talking about: My Query Code: $query = "SELECT * FROM settings WHERE storeid='store350' "; $which = $handle_db2; $result = mysql_query($query,$which); $num = mysql_num_rows ($result); $id = mysql_result($result,$i,"id"); $storeid = mysql_result($result,$i,"storeid"); $tinypass = mysql_result($result,$i,"tinypass"); $taxsetting = mysql_result($result,$i,"taxsetting"); $gst = mysql_result($result,$i,"gst"); $pst = mysql_result($result,$i,"pst"); $hst = mysql_result($result,$i,"hst"); $canpar = mysql_result($result,$i,"canpar"); $cp_fuelcharge = mysql_result($result,$i,"cp_fuelcharge"); $cp_markup = mysql_result($result,$i,"cp_markup"); $fedex = mysql_result($result,$i,"fedex"); $fe_fuelcharge = mysql_result($result,$i,"fe_fuelcharge"); $fe_markup = mysql_result($result,$i,"fe_markup"); $dhl = mysql_result($result,$i,"dhl"); $dh_fuelcharge = mysql_result($result,$i,"dh_fuelcharge"); $dh_markup = mysql_result($result,$i,"dh_markup"); $tnt = mysql_result($result,$i,"tnt"); $tn_fuelcharge = mysql_result($result,$i,"tn_fuelcharge"); $tn_markup = mysql_result($result,$i,"tn_markup"); As you can see, my variables are the same as my table column names... now if this "project" goes thorugh I could have hundreds of columns, I would hate to have to define each one making my file even larger. Is there a way to make it dynamically create the variables via an array or something Theoriticaly something like this: $query = "SELECT * FROM settings WHERE storeid='store350' "; $which = $handle_db2; $result = mysql_query($query,$which); $num = mysql_num_rows ($result); (While loop here) $Table_name_var = mysql_result($result,$i,"table_name"); (end while loop) Possible? I have the date stored as: date( "d/m/Y" ) After it's pulled from the database, I would like it to display like: date( "F j, Y" ) I have tried below, but the output makes d the month and m the day. $dateStamp = strtotime($row['startrepeat']); $dateFormatted = date("F j, Y", $dateStamp); Currently the date is stored in the database as 28-02-2011 - 21:00:30 and the variable is: $date['mTime'] How can I format it too look "pretty" like this: February 28, 2011 - 10:00 PM? (don't need the seconds) At the moment I am creating a search function for my website. The approach I have in mind is a pseudo-PHP database. To give an example: A HTML form will submit the results to a PHP file. HTML FORM - Colour: Black PHP RESULT PAGE - if ($_POST['color'] == 'Black') {readfile("./products/black/*.html");} HTML FORM - Price: <$50 PHP RESULT PAGE - if ($_POST['Price'] == '<$50') {readfile("./products/less50/*.html");} The problem here is if there is an item that is black and costs less than $50, then its going to be listed twice. There is probably some code I can write to ommit the listing of duplicate entries, but it is probably going to be messy, so I am wondering if its better to use a centralized MySQL database, rather than a pseudo-PHP database? I've never used MySQL and don't know much about it and this is my first real attempt at using PHP. I have a very tricky php problem here. At least for me. On a page that is editing a job entry. I have a database generated group of checkboxes some of which have been checked when the job was entered. So the script has to do two things generate the complete list of checkboxes and check the ones that have already been selected in the job request. The below script is what I've done trying to figure it out. Description of what I'm trying to do: I'm generating the the boxes with a call to my database for the list of checkboxes. Then I'm building an array with all the possible items that could be checked to compare against. Ok here is where I think my first problem is. I need to make a second query to another table "worklog" in the same database. This is where the list of checked items are stored. What is the best way to do this? A second query seems wrong "or at least not efficient" Code: [Select] <div class="text">Job Type (<a class="editlist" href="javascript:editlist('listedit.php?edit=typelist',700,400);">edit list</a>):</div> <div class="field"> <?PHP $connection=mysql_connect ("localhost", "user", "password") or die ("I cannot connect to the database."); $db=mysql_select_db ("database", $connection) or die (mysql_error()); $query = "SELECT type FROM typelist ORDER BY type ASC"; $sql_result = mysql_query($query, $connection) or die (mysql_error()); $i=1; echo '<table valign="top"><tr><td>'; while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($sql_result)) { $type = $row["type"]; if ($i > 1 && $i % 26 == 0) echo '</td><td>'; else if ($i) echo ''; ++$i; $aTypes = array ("Spec Ad Campaign", "100 x 100 Logo", "100 x 35 (Featured Developer/Broker)", "100 x 40 (Featured Lender)", "120 x 180 (Home Page Auto)", "120 x 45 (Half Tile - Jobs)", "120x60 (Section Sponsor)", "125 x 40 (Profile Page logo)", "135 x 31 (Autos)", "135 x 60 (Autos)", "135 x 60 (Logotile - Jobs)", "150 x 40 (Auto Logo)", "160 x 240 (monster tile)", "160 x 400 (Skyscraper)", "160 x 600 (Tower)", "170x30 (Section Sponsor)", "240 x 180 JPG/GIF Auto Video", "240 x 180 size FLV video ", "300 x 250 (Story Ad)", "300 x 600 (Halfpage)", "468 x 60 (Banner Jpg/Gif)", "728 x 90 (Leaderboard)", "95 x 75 (Sweeps Logo) ", "Agent Profile Page", "Contest", "Creative Change", "Employer Profile", "Holiday Shop", "Home of the Week", "HP Half Banner (234 x 60 Static)", "Mobile Ads (320x53 *300x50*216x36*168x28)", "Newsletter", "Peelback", "Pencil Ad", "Print", "Real Deals", "Resize ad campaign", "Roll-Over Skyscraper", "Site Sponsor logo (170x30)", "Splash Page Production", "Travel Deals Update", "Video Ad", "Web Development", "Web Maintenance", "Web Quote (or Design)"); $dbTypes = explode(',',$row['type']); foreach ($aTypes as $type){ if(in_array($aType,$dbTypes)){ echo "<input style='font-size:10px;' name='type[]' type='checkbox' value='$type' CHECKED><span style='color:#000;'>$type</span></input><br/>"; }else { echo "<input style='font-size:10px;' name='type[]' type='checkbox' value='$type'><span style='color:#000;'>$type</span></input><br/>"; } } } echo '</td></tr></table>'; ?> </div> after cloasing connection of database i still got the values form database. What is most commonly used and or more reliable? Another topic i have trouble finding information on is actually positioning the output from you mysql database, is this practice done with tables?fields and rows? What is this method called? And is there more then one way to go about controlling result layout on your page? Sorry about the 1001 questions , but i am unable to find a clear answer on the topic ..especially question two . Thanks in advance. Hi Simple question, how do I reFormat a date. $dateCreated (2012-01-14) to become: 14th jan 2012 So far I have this, but it's not working: Code: [Select] $expDate = explode('-',$dateCreated); $date1 = mktime(0, 0, 0, date('m', $expDate[1]), date('d', $expDate[2]), date('Y', $expDate[0])); $date = date('d m Y', $date1); Thanks Hi, I am trying to print my database records into a php page. I am able to succesfully print the values however the values are being duplicated. For example If I have two records in the employee_details, every these two records are being printed twice on my php page. can anyone tell me the reason why? The output that I see is as follows 7 7 3a7cf5162a9c0a5014c92021e7ca0bf0 3a7cf5162a9c0a5014c92021e7ca0bf0 Bryan Bryan 4111 4111 Admin Admin 6 6 6743c3d1519ab4f2cd9a78ab09a511bd 6743c3d1519ab4f2cd9a78ab09a511bd Raul Raul 601 W Yandell Dr, 601 W Yandell Dr, Admin Admin <html> <head> </head> <body> <?php mysql_connect("localhost","root",""); mysql_select_db("encryption") or die(mysql_error()); $query = mysql_query("select * from employee_details"); ?> <table> <?php for($counter = 0;$row=mysql_fetch_array($query); $counter++) { print ("<tr>"); foreach($row as $key=> $value) print ("<td>$value</td>"); print ("</tr>"); } ?> </table> </body> </html> I am having a problem with what is probably encoding. I am pulling strings from a WordPress database. Below is a sample string: Code: [Select] Sed nec neque quis sapien scelerisque aliquet. In in est odio, ac auctor erat. Vestibulum fringilla dapibus sodales. Morbi facilisis egestas arcu, eu semper mi luctus vitae. Cum sociis natoque penatibus et magnis dis parturient montes, nascetur ridiculus mus. Suspendisse sollicitudin, metus sed hendrerit tristique, enim ante venenatis metus, ac consectetur mauris lorem et felis. Phasellus ac purus massa. Aliquam ligula mauris, iaculis et posuere vitae, pellentesque sit amet leo. Praesent at eros et lacus scelerisque feugiat. Aliquam non facilisis libero. Ut blandit leo ut tortor convallis porttitor. Aliquam erat volutpat. Aliquam rhoncus rutrum metus, tempor sollicitudin ante laoreet in. Sed tincidunt nibh a augue euismod sagittis. Fusce ullamcorper ultricies nisi, sit amet elementum mi scelerisque eget. Cras sed elit ligula, sit amet aliquam lectus. Nulla vel mollis nibh. Pellentesque ultricies, dui non aliquam eleifend, tortor ligula blandit dolor, quis interdum diam augue non eros. Nullam id molestie nunc. Integer id tempus est. When WordPress displays this text, it is formatted correctly, with spaces between paragraphs, etc. When I pull the string from the database, and echo it onto a page, the spaces between paragraphs are replaced by spaces, so in the end the output is as follows: Code: [Select] Sed nec neque quis sapien scelerisque aliquet. In in est odio, ac auctor erat. Vestibulum fringilla dapibus sodales. Morbi facilisis egestas arcu, eu semper mi luctus vitae. Cum sociis natoque penatibus et magnis dis parturient montes, nascetur ridiculus mus. Suspendisse sollicitudin, metus sed hendrerit tristique, enim ante venenatis metus, ac consectetur mauris lorem et felis. Phasellus ac purus massa. Aliquam ligula mauris, iaculis et posuere vitae, pellentesque sit amet leo. Praesent at eros et lacus scelerisque feugiat. Aliquam non facilisis libero. Ut blandit leo ut tortor convallis porttitor. Aliquam erat volutpat. Aliquam rhoncus rutrum metus, tempor sollicitudin ante laoreet in. Sed tincidunt nibh a augue euismod sagittis. Fusce ullamcorper ultricies nisi, sit amet elementum mi scelerisque eget. Cras sed elit ligula, sit amet aliquam lectus. Nulla vel mollis nibh. Pellentesque ultricies, dui non aliquam eleifend, tortor ligula blandit dolor, quis interdum diam augue non eros. Nullam id molestie nunc. Integer id tempus est. What can I do to follow WordPress' formatting? This topic has been moved to Third Party PHP Scripts. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=346474.0 Hi, When I do this the result is a date of zeros? $DateAndTime = date('d-m-y', strtotime($DateAndTime)); All I want is a date in format of DD0MM-YYY and the Time in HH:MM::SS Any help would be great! I know it is basic, Thanks in advance Hi, I have a textarea called registerDomain which i enter multiple domain names into (separated by a new line) e.g. www.google.com www.sky.com www.bt.comI have the following code to get each of the domains and format them like google.com (lowercase without any spaces) sky.com (lowercase without any spaces) bt.com (lowercase without any spaces)The below code I have works perfectly, however its awful to look at. I wondered if anyone could advise on a cleaner/more elegant way of achieving this. Thanks, if (isset($_POST['submit'])) { $values = trim($_POST['registerDomain']); $array = explode("\n", $values); $array = array_filter($array, 'trim'); foreach ($array as $line) { $domain = addslashes($line); $domain = preg_replace("/\r|\n/", "", $domain); $domain = strtolower($domain); $domain = str_replace("www.", "", $domain); $domain = str_replace(" ", "", $domain);

Hi there, I need a PHP number format to match one and all of these sequence of numbers: 8500.00 9999.99 15.00 0.00 Hi there, So I have data which I am fetching from two tables link in a one-to-many relationship using the following code: sql = "select authcourses.id as id, title, date_format(closingdate, '%d.%m.%y') as date, name from authcourses inner join authorities on authorityid = authorities.id order by authorityid"; $result = mysqli_query($link, $sql); if(!$result) { $error = 'Unable to get list of authorities'; include '../../error.html.php'; exit(); } while ($row = mysqli_fetch_array($result)) { $authcourses[] = array('name' => $row['name'], 'title' => $row ['title'], 'date' => $row['date'], 'id' => $row['id']); } I then output the data in a table like this: Code: [Select] <table> <thead><th>Title</th><th>Closing Date</th><th>Action</th></thead> <tbody> <?php foreach ($authcourses as $authcourse): ?> <tr> <form action="?" method="post"> <tr> <td><?php htmlout($authcourse['name']); ?></td> <!-- custom function htmlout($text) see helpers.inc.php --> <td><?php htmlout($authcourse['title']); ?></td> <td><?php htmlout($authcourse['date']); ?></td> <td> <input type="hidden" name="id" value="<?php echo $authcourse['id']; ?>" /> <input type="submit" name="action" value="Edit" /> <input type="submit" name="action" value="Delete" /> </td> </tr> </form> <?php endforeach; ?> </tbody> </table> The htmlout() is a custom function which is basically "echo htmlspecialchars($str)", and you can ignore the form stuff. I get an out put like this: York, Course 1, 2011-02-15 York, Course 2, 2011-03-01 Manchester, Course 3, 2011-06-17 Manchester, Course 4, 2011-08-12 Derby, Course 5, 2011-01-10 Barnet, Course 6, 2011-08-19 Barnet, Course 7, 2011-06-23 etc etc... What I want is something like this: York: Course 1, date Course 2, date Manchester: Course 3, date Course 4, date Derby: Course 5, date Barnet: Course 6, date Course 7, date etc.. I guess I'd like to load an array for each of the authorities (cities) with the course info, then I can output it in my form like this: Code: [Select] <?php foreach ($authcourses as $authcourse): ?> <h1><?php htmlout($authcourse['name'] ?>: </h1> <?php foreach ($courses as $course): ?> <p><?php htmlout($course['title'];?><p> <p><?php htmlout($course['date'];?></p> <?php endforeach; ?> <?php endforeach; ?> I hope that makes sense... Any help would be great. Cheers, Mike I'm presently formatting surnames like this: Code: [Select] $surname = ucfirst(strtolower($surname))) .. so that SMITH, and smith ... both look like: Smith. That's all fine, but how do I ensure that... O'BRIEN o'brien o' brien ... all look like O'Brien ? That is, where no spaces are allowed to appear in the surname and where the first letter, as well as the one following the apostrophe are both capitalised. TIA Hi, Has anyone come across an issue when saving DOM to a file and Code: [Select] $document->preserveWhiteSpace = false; $document->formatOutout = true; has no effect?
