PHP - Php Script - How To Track Courier Service Using Tracking Number From My Website

I almost posted this in the freelancing forum, because I am looking for it to be created, but I first needed more info on what a coder would need to know about the project.

I have a script that is designed for a single person, and I want a coder to design it to become an online service with user registration, etc.

I'm weary of posting publicly the details about what the script does, but is something like that needed in order for a php programmer to take on a job? Could something like that be left out, until actually giving the coder the job?

Do I have to give at least a vague idea of what the script does?

I don't understand enough about what a programmer would need to know, but at the same time, I don't want to reveal my idea either.

Can somebody help me on how much I am going to need to reveal?

I'm getting the dreaded " Invalid parameter number: number of bound variables does not match number of tokens" error and I've looked at this for days.  Here is what my table looks like:

I know my userid is valid and and the date is set above (I've echo'd these out to make sure).  Since the id is auto_increment, I do not put that in my sql (though I've tried that too), nor in my params (tried that too).  What am I missing?  I feel certain it is something small, but I have spent days checking commas, semi-colons and spelling.  Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong?

I would like to create a Job Numbering system for all of my jobs.


Job number format  :    print-001232

I would like the job numbers to be sequential. So  we will have a drop down list with three categories.   which will form the first part of the job number. (print- ) and then I would like the 6 digits after it to be sequential starting from 000001.

What is the best way of going about doing this?

I'm attempting to praise(if that's how you say it) txt data into xml with php and have come across a problem I've been unable to solve over the past two days so I'm coming here to ask the php gods for their assistance.

The file I'm prasing contains line after line of real estate data. I understand what I'm doing I think. I've gotten the data in a format that is more usable, taking out the tabs and replacing them with spaces and such. I am creating a series of if than statements which will select the address out of each line even though each line can be different. At the end of the address on each line there is a "S" character which stands for some property I'm not concerned with. I'm simply using the single 'S' to find the end of the address. The lines look like so:

As you can see from the if then statements, I've gotten to the point where It's replying to the 'S' at the end of the address thus telling me where the address ends. I am however having  a problem I believe is a server issue. The code works fine when applied to 12 lines like the ones above, when I apply it to more of those lines it does not return the 'S' for them even if I used the exact same line more than 12 times. The main file which I'd like to automate the parsing of has thousands of these such lines in it.  If I try to apply this code to the file with these thousands of lines, the browser returns a "The website encountered an error while retrieving http://localhost. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly".

I take this to mean the server is doing too much work for it to be completed. I think when it reaches it's twelfth, the temporary memory of my program/server or some thing else, is exhausted. I'm applying these if then statements to every single word in the file. Is this a processing issue on the server? I was applying this code to every character in the file and thought I could fix the problem by applying instead to every word given there are less words than characters. I have the processing time on the server set to 10000 and it's not taking along time to return the error message.

So I'm working on a website for an airline (not real) and on one of my pages you can request the cost of a flight by putting in the depart and arrival locations, like this:
And if they put in a selection that isn't in the database they get this:


The problem is that when they load the page initially, instead of just the selection bars and sumbit button showing up, it all does and i get an error like this:


When you sumbit it, it all looks like it should, it's just that when they load it things seem to go wrong, any idea how i can fix this?

Hi,   i am a student for a school.   we have in each class a book that lists the shool year. Teachers use it to make notes in it and mark people that are not present.   i want to bring that whole process online making a website out of it.   Teachers can log in and see the yearbook. Days view, Week view, Month view. Mark people that have been missing on a specific day. List all the people that have been missing during a school week.   How would i present the Calender? Tables?   I have the some knowledge in mysql, php and joomla.   How would i go about getting startet? Do i need to have a Framework?   All ideas would be greatly appreciated.   Thank you

I am working on a web page running a php script to extract from another website water temperatures from around the area.  I have been working on this for about a month, and dont know how to do this.

This is the data I need to obtain:

Fishing is reported to be fair.  Bass are being caught on spinnerbaits, plastic worms and jigs. Some Crappie are being caught on jigs and minnows. Trout are being taken in the tailwater area.

The lake elevation is 633.87 feet above mean sea level.  The water temperature is 58.0 degrees on the surface, 50.0 degrees at 10 feet.  Ensure all required safety equipment is onboard your boat and in workable condition.

I am wanting to do this for a couple of other lakes with the same data format.

Can anyone help?

I have a site where people vote, currently if two computers that are on the same network vote, my site will see them as one computer because I only track people by IP address.

What would be a good way to track 2+ computers with the same IP address?
