PHP - Form Question To Include Html & Php Code. I Get Email, But It Doesn't Have User Input From Website
The PHP code sends me an email from the server, but the user input is empty or "blank". I only receive: "From: \ Email: \ Subject: \ Message: " and that's it. How do I fix my PHP and/or HTML code to receive user input from the form? Attached is my existing HTML and PHP code that doesn't send me any "user input" from the form. Thanks to anyone who can help!!
Similar TutorialsHi I built a really simple customer review form https://kickasssoftwear.uk/dev/reviews.html (it's only been optimised for mobile view so far) and it works using the php mail script on this page https://kickasssoftwear.uk/dev/empty2.php - the emails are being sent to me and the format of the emails is OK, and the form redirects to the empty2 page with a mailsent message in the address bar. I know I can leave that page as is and write a nice thank you message in the html - but what I really want to do is have the customers name there too, Thanks 'name' your review has been sent, but I can't get it to work - it's been 4 whole days now and I really need to eat & sleep! I use PHP, MySQL for this project. Any ideas on how to achieve this. Regards Sandeep Hi there, I have created a simple php email form, which works just fine, but now I have been asked to include an image of the company logoat the top of the email the user receives. I am new to php, so my first thought was that I could just add a line that had the path to the image on the server like so: $mailimg = 'http://domain.ca/images/image.gif'; and then call it in the $message: $headers = "From: $email\r\n\r\n"; $subject = "Cancellation Request Form from Website"; $message .= "$mailimg"; $message = "Notice Date: $ndate\r Brokerage: $brokerage\r but that doesnt seem to be working for me. I get the email message, but with no image attached. Any ideas on how I can simply do this. Again I am new to php, so the easier the better Here is my code Code: [Select] <?php if ($_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] != 'POST'){ $me = $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?> <form name="form1" method="post" action="<?php echo $me;?>"> <table width="97%" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td><img src="../images/dot_trans.gif" width="2" height="2" /><br /> <table width="97%" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td><img src="../images/dot_trans.gif" width="10" height="10" /><br /> <table width="100%" height="183" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="3"> <tr> <td width="147"><strong>Notice Date</strong></td> <td width="263"><span id="sprytextfield1"> <label> <input name="ndate" type="text" id="ndate" size="40" /> </label> <span class="textfieldRequiredMsg">Please Enter Notice Date.</span></span></td> <td width="127"><strong>Broker Name</strong></td> <td width="271"><span id="sprytextfield7"> <input name="brokername" type="text" id="brokername" size="40" /> <span class="textfieldRequiredMsg">Please Enter Broker Name.</span></span></td> </tr> <tr> <td><strong>Brokerage</strong></td> <td><span id="sprytextfield2"> <label> <input name="brokerage" type="text" id="brokerage" size="40" /> </label> <span class="textfieldRequiredMsg">Please Enter Brokerage</span></span></td> <td><strong>Phone Number</strong></td> <td><span id="sprytextfield8"> <input name="pnum" type="text" id="pnum" size="40" /> <span class="textfieldRequiredMsg">Please Enter A Phone Number.</span></span></td> </tr> <tr> <td><strong>RJFC Contract #</strong></td> <td><span id="sprytextfield3"> <input name="rjfccon" type="text" id="rjfccon" size="40" /> <span class="textfieldRequiredMsg">Please Enter A Contact Number</span></span></td> <td><strong>E Mail</strong></td> <td><span id="sprytextfield9"> <input name="email" type="text" id="email" size="40" /> <span class="textfieldRequiredMsg">Please Enter A E Mail Address.</span><span class="textfieldInvalidFormatMsg">Invalid format.</span></span></td> </tr> <tr> <td height="28"><strong>Insured</strong></td> <td><span id="sprytextfield4"> <input name="insured" type="text" id="insured" size="40" /> <span class="textfieldRequiredMsg">Please Enter Name of Insured</span></span></td> <td rowspan="3" valign="top"><strong>Reason for cancellation</strong></td> <td rowspan="3"><label for="cancel"></label> <span id="sprytextarea1"> <textarea name="cancel" id="cancel" cols="30" rows="5"></textarea> <span class="textareaRequiredMsg">Please enter a reason for cancellation.</span></span></td> </tr> <tr> <td height="28"><strong>Policy #</strong></td> <td><span id="sprytextfield5"> <input name="polnum" type="text" id="polnum" size="40" /> <span class="textfieldRequiredMsg">Please Enter A Policy Number.</span></span></td> </tr> <tr> <td height="22"> </td> <td> </td> </tr> </table> <br /> <br /> <table width="822" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td width="569"><div align="left">RJFC will process the Cancellation Request upon receipt. I'm interested using some php to enhance the site a bit. I'm looking to accept some user input and put it into a database then display it back to them on another page. What php functions would be best to use to accomplish this? Thanks for the input! I am trying to keep the user input clean with this script but can't figure out what is wrong with it. the error I am getting is Warning: preg_match() expects parameter 1 to be string, $bad_strings = array( "content-type:", "mime-version:", "multipart/mixed", "Content-Transfer-Encoding:", "bcc:", "cc:", "to:", ); if (preg_match($bad_strings, $first_name)) { die; One more question. So I have a function with two parameters, $x and $y. Here it is. Code: [Select] function dydx($x,$y){ $equation = 2 * $x; return $equation; } Now here's the problem. I want $equation to be user defined. Easy enough, I use a post command and I get $equation to equal whatever the user inputs. The problem is that if I get input from the user, I'm not sure how to take that input and then have the function parameters work on it. Like if the user inputs "3*$x + 2*$y", i want to be able to let the parameters for the function dydx act on it. How could I go about doing this? Ok so I got BB Code working. Now I want to prevent Users from inserting HTML into Posts. I have the following: $PostText = mysql_escape_string($_POST['replytext']); $Replace = Array ('/(<)(.+)(>)/','/(<\/)(.+)(>)/'); $ReplaceWith = Array ('<\\2>','</\\2>'); $PostText = preg_replace($Replace, $ReplaceWith, $PostText); Now If I were to input Code: [Select] <a href=http://phpfreaks.net>Php Freaks</a>Into a forum reply it would return: Code: [Select] <a href=http://phpfreaks.net>Php Freaks When Checking the database it has: Code: [Select] <a href=http://phpfreaks.net>Php Freaks</a> Any help on solving this? hello all, i have a php form with multiple submits (one calculates price, one checks date and one submits the form and the data to mysql database) when i hit calculate price, for example, the function works fine but all the fields are cleared and i would like for all the input to remain as the user sent. here is part of the code (the form): Code: [Select] <form action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'];?>" method="post"> <fieldset> <legend ><span><a>video</span></a></legend> <ol> <li> <label for="hover_camera">hover camera</label> <input id="hover_camera" type="radio" name="hover_camera" value="yes" /><b>yes</b> <input id="hover_camera" type="radio" name="hover_camera" value="no" /><b>no</b> </li> <li> <label for="video_photographers">video photographers</label> <input id="video_photographers" type="text" name="video_photographers" maxlength="1" size="1"/> </li> <li> <label for="video_edit">video edit</label> <input id="video_edit" type="radio" name="video_edit" value="short" /><b>short</b> <input id="video_edit" type="radio" name="video_edit" value="long" /><b>long</b> </li> <li> <label for="video_clip">video clip</label> <select name="video_clip"> <option value="no">no</option> <option value="regular">regular</option> <option value="staged">staged</option> </select> </li> </ol> </fieldset><br /> <fieldset align="right"> <legend><span><a>stills</span></a></legend> <ol> <li> <label for="stills">stills</label> <input id="stills" type="text" name="stills" maxlength="1" size="1" /> </li> <li> <label for="increase">increase amount</label> <input id="increase" type="text" name="increase" maxlength="4" size="1" /> </li> <li> <label for="magnets">magnets</label> <input id="magnets" type="text" name="magnets" maxlength="4" size="1" /> </ol> </fieldset><br /> <fieldset align="right"> <legend><span><a>albums</span></a></legend> <ol> <li> <label for="digital_album">digital album</label> <input id="digital_album" type="radio" name="digital_album" value="yes" /><b>yes</b> <input id="digital_album" type="radio" name="digital_album" value="no" /><b>no</b> </li> <li> <label for="photo_album">photo album</label> <input id="photo_album" type="radio" name="photo_album" value="yes" /><b>yes</b> <input id="photo_album" type="radio" name="photo_album" value="no" /><b>no</b> </li> <li> <label for="small_digital_album">small digital album</label> <input id="small_digital_album" type="radio" name="small_digital_album" value="yes" /><b>yes</b> <input id="small_digital_album" type="radio" name="small_digital_album" value="no" /><b>no</b> </li> </ol> </fieldset><br /> <fieldset align="right"> <ol> <li> <label for="comments">comments</label> <textarea id="comments" name="comments"></textarea><br /><br /> </li> <li> <label for="price">price</label> <td><input type="submit" id = "price" name="price" value="calculate price" /></td> </li> </ol> </fieldset><br /> <fieldset align="right"> <legend><span><a>choose date</span></a></legend> <ol> <li> <input type="submit" id="isavailable" name="isavailable" value="isavailable" /> </li> </ol> </fieldset> <fieldset class="submit"> <ol> <li> <input class="submit" type="submit" id="submit" name="submit" value="done!" /> <input class="submit" type="reset" id="reset" name="reset" value="reset" /> </li> </ol> </fieldset> </form> thanks for the help Hi there, I found a Javascript with what I want, but I want it to be in PHP because if people don't have Javascript enabled, they won't see the login. Here is what I have, but I need it to be converted to PHP: Code: [Select] function loginArea() { val = document.loginForm.password.value; switch(val) { case "password1": document.location = 'http://www.google.com/password1-page/'; break; case "password2": document.location = 'http://www.google.com/password2-page/'; break; default: document.location ='http://www.google.com/sorry/'; break; } } Code: [Select] <form name="loginForm" id="loginForm" method="post" action=""> <input name="password" type="text" id="password" maxlength="5" /> <input name="login" type="button" id="login" value="Check" onclick="loginArea()" /> </form> Help? - Steph I was wondering just a general question here. I am just going through a text book on the main aspects of a problem solving approach to PHP, but when I was just trying out one of my own theories on this particular one of my own: <html> <body> <h1>User Input set as functions</h1> <tt>Please enter a value below:</tt> <br> <form id="userInput" name="userInput" action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?>" method="get"> <input type="text" id="input" name="input" value="" /> <input type="submit" value="Send This" /> </form> <?php function mistake($errorvalue) { echo $errorvalue; } function getValue($userInput) { return $userInput; } if(!isset($_GET['input']) || $_GET['input'] == '') { mistake("No value received yet!"); // calls the error function } else { $input = $_GET['input']; echo "You did enter something, this was: "; $userInput = getValue($input); echo "$userInput"; } ?> </body> </html> I am quite impressed with what I have done there, though I know its nothing special and could obviously be done not using functions at all, just wanted to see if I could get one that returns something, in this case the 'getValue()' function. But when I've set it to work out what type of variable ie gettype is it? (going off completely memory here), its always a string, even if all I do is enter a 1, even tried not using the GET method for the form and used the POST one instead it still says that a single integer is a string. Why just out of question is it doing this? Just quite interested thats all. Thanks for your time and I look forward to any replies, Jeremy. I am stumped here, can not figure out a efficient way to collect all the data on this page and send it to my to user's id number. Thank u for reading this Im trying to make my form remember the last input made by user, so I wrote the following and I get a syntax error on the input line. The error is: Parse error: parse error, expecting `T_STRING' or `T_VARIABLE' or `T_NUM_STRING' in C:\wamp\www\ezsynonym\index.php on line 90 Code: [Select] <form id="searchform" method="post" action="index.php"> <input id="input" name="synonymsearch" type="text" value="<?php echo $_POST['synonymsearch']; ?>" maxlength="400px" /> </form> TIA I have read around and can't seem to find the right coding for what I need on this forum and some other other forums. I have a contact form (as listed below) and I need 2 locations (Print Name and Title) fields to auto-populate on a separate form (can be a doc, pdf, etc. any form of document which is easiest) and this form can be totally back end and the individual using the form never is going to see the form. It's going on a contract form, that we would like to auto-populate. Also is there a simple attachment code so individuals can attach documents to the code? <p style: align="center"><form action="mailtest.php" method="POST"> <?php $ipi = getenv("REMOTE_ADDR"); $httprefi = getenv ("HTTP_REFERER"); $httpagenti = getenv ("HTTP_USER_AGENT"); ?> <input type="hidden" name="ip" value="<?php echo $ipi ?>" /> <input type="hidden" name="httpref" value="<?php echo $httprefi ?>" /> <input type="hidden" name="httpagent" value="<?php echo $httpagenti ?>" /> <div align="center"> <p class="style1">Name</p> <input type="text" name="name"> <p class="style1">Address</p> <input type="text" name="address"> <p class="style1">Email</p> <input type="text" name="email"> <p class="style1">Phone</p> <input type="text" name="phone"> <p class="style1">Debtor</p> <input type="text" name="debtor"> <p class="style1">Debtor Address</p> <input type="text" name="debtora"> <br /> <br /> <a href="authoforms.php" target="_blank" style="color:#ffcb00" vlink="#ffcb00">Click here to view Assignment Agreement and Contract Agreement</a> <p class="style1"><input type='checkbox' name='chk' value='I Have read and Agree to the terms.'> I have read and agree to the Assignment and Contract Agreement <br></p> <p class="style1">Print Name</p> <input type="text" name="pname"> <p class="style1">Title</p> <input type="text" name="title"> <p class="style1">I hear by agree that the information I have provided is true, accurate and the information I am submitting is <br /> not fraudulent. On the other company's site, there will be a form (using POST) that has my web application as the action element. The user who clicked the submit button will be redirected to my site, where I need to receive the $_POST data from this form to process before redirecting into the web application. I have done work on the other side, using standard form posts to send data to another site, but I've never had to write the code for the receiving end. How do I receive the form data posted from the other website? Can I access the $_POST[''] array as I would with any normal same-site POST transaction? Please let me know if you need additional detail or if my question wasn't clear! I'm fast approaching deadlines and really appreciate your help! Thanks! Hey Everyone, My website asks for an email address when one registers but I want to put a limit it on it (like to register you gotta have an email address from a specific domain). How can I edit the form input to do this? Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks -STG Hi, Ok so I have the youtube url input working and it shows the video fine have a look at Code: [Select] http://www.cyberhost.me/test But now what I need is for the script to display the embed code needed for the user. This is the script: Code: [Select] <?php $text = $_POST["text"]; if (!isset($_POST['submit'])) { // if page is not submitted to itself echo the form ?> <html> <head> <title>Youtube code generator</title> </head> <body> <p>Copy and paste this url for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdDIsImNfBY&feature</p><br/><br/> <form method="post" action="<?php echo $PHP_SELF;?>"> Youtube URL:<input type="text" size="50" maxlength="50" name="text"><br /> <input type="submit" value="submit" name="submit"> </form> <?php } else { //space anything that would get included in a link, add the space $text = str_ireplace(array("<br />","\n","\r"),array(" <br /> "," \n "," \r "),$text); $text = str_replace(" ", " ", $text); //explode the text by spaces $text_explode = explode(" ",$text); //loop replacing youtube links with embed codes, if not youtube embed return text foreach($text_explode as $words){ if (preg_match('~(?:youtube\.com/(?:[^/]+/.+/|(?:v|e(?:mbed)?)/|.*[?&]v=)|youtu\.be/)([^"&?/ ]{11})~i', $words, $match)) { $vidid = $match[1];//the id $link = "http://youtu.be/$vidid";//short link to video //grab the title $visit_url = "http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/videos/".$vidid; $doc = new DOMDocument; @$doc->load($visit_url); $link_title = $doc->getElementsByTagName("title")->item(0)->nodeValue; if($link_title == ""){ $link_title = "Click to watch video."; } //display a link echo "<h3><a href='$link' TARGET='_blank'>$link_title</a></h3>"; //embed the video echo "<div>"; echo "<object style='height: 390px; width: 640px'> <param name='movie' value='http://www.youtube.com/v/$vidid&fs=1'> <param name='allowFullScreen' value='true'> <param name='allowScriptAccess' value='always'> <embed src='http://www.youtube.com/v/$vidid&fs=1' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' allowfullscreen='true' allowScriptAccess='always' width='640' height='390'></object>"; echo "</div><br />"; } else { //keep the original words echo " $words "; } } } ?> The code I need displayed below is Code: [Select] <p> <img height="350" width="425" class="fw_media_youtube fw-parse" alt="YouTube-CODE PLACED HERE" src="http://thumbs.webs.com/Platform/mediaPreview.jsp?type=YouTube&id=CODE PLACED HERE"/></p> Where you see "CODE PLACED HERE" is where i need the video id placed and then for it to be displayed. Any idea how I would do this? Thanks in advance Hi everyone.
Pretty desperate, first time that I'm working with php. Learning this language, makes sense, however I can't figure out why my code is not working.
Emails are not coming in at all. Additional required info (phone number, first name, last name) should be included in the message.
Please help. Thank you everyone.
<?php $to = "abcd@abcd.com"; $subject = "From Website Contact Form"; $first = $_REQUEST['first']; $last = $_REQUEST['last']; $email = $_REQUEST['email']; $phone = $_REQUEST['phone']; $MESSAGE_BODY = "Name: " . $_POST["first"] . "\n"; $MESSAGE_BODY = "Name: " . $_POST["last"] . "\n"; $MESSAGE_BODY = "Contact No: " . $_POST["phone"] . "\n"; $MESSAGE_BODY = "Email: " . $_POST["email"] . "\n"; $MESSAGE_BODY = "Requirement: " . nl2br($_POST["message"]) . "\n"; $message = $_REQUEST['message' + 'email' + 'first' + 'last']; $from = $_REQUEST['email']; $headers = "From:" . $from; mail($to, $subject, $MESSAGE_BODY, $headers); echo "Your message has been sent"; ?> The attached code works perfect for me. This code displays data from my mysql database in a browser & allows me to edit it, then re-submit it to the mysql database. Again, all of this works great. I was wondering if there was a way way for me to add some code to this existing code that would send me an email with the information in the form when the submit button is clicked? Nothing fancy....I'd just like to get an email based off of the location, for example if the location is changed from "Office1" to "Office2", I'd like the email to go to office2@mail.com. If "Office3" is entered, I'd like the form info to go to office3@mail.com. Is this possible? |
