Similar TutorialsHello guys is it possible to create a single php file to contain all the functions to be called via AJAX and get AJAX to call the specific function required rather than having to create individual pages for each AJAX request you need to make? Many Thanks Hi All I am wanting to start writing neater coding so am wanting to refer to coding in a functions file. So for example, If i was getting info from database using the following code Code: [Select] $queryone = "SELECT * from affiliate where size='300x250' ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 1"; $result = mysql_query($queryone); while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { echo "".$row['code'].""; } I would want this to go in a file called functions.php Then in my index.php(for example) I would want to link up to this code. Can anyone point me in the right direction please? Thanks! I am currently building my own MVC Framework and I have run into an issue that I can't solve when attempting to use 2 methods from a single model. I know that this isn't an issue with the queries or information being return. I am unsure of the proper way that I can call 2 methods when checking to see if a user is logged in... The issue that I face is both methods are calling the DB and it throws a PDO error which I don't know how to get around the issue.. Any guidance would be nice as I have been banging my head over this issue. Thank you!

Anyways basically I want to be able to "queue" functions from a class in a single call and am wondering if I am doing it correctly or if there is a better way to do it. Here is my code: <?php class test { private static $one; private static $two; private static $three; public function callOne($val){ $one .= $val; return $this; } public function callTwo($val){ $two .= $val; return $this; } public function callThree($val){ $three .= $val; return $this; } public function print(){ echo $this->one.' '.$this->two.' '.$this->three; } } ?> now when I want to call this I can do: $test = new test(); $test->callOne('one')->callTwo('two')->callThree('three'); $test->callOne('another one'); $test->print(); Is there a better way to do this or is there a different method of doing this? Just wanna make sure I am doing it right lol. Hi there, I have already read some other topics concerning the same problem I am encountering. I have multiple applications which I programmed in PHP. In all of these applications I use a central authentication database and a central translation database (also on PHP). For this to work, I need to include a functions.php file for both the authentication db as for the translation db in all of my sites. Because I use different URL's for all my apps, including auth and transl, I am forced to use an URL when including both the functions.php files of the auth db and the transl db. As I found out (the hard way) PHP5 doesn't include the raw data of my functions.php files into the calling files, so none of my functions are known and I receive an error "Call to undefined function ...". Since I am using these programs only on an internal network (not public available), I am not afraid of any security issues. Is there any way I can include my functions.php files using an URL (like include ('http://trans.mysite.com/sys/functions.php');) so the defined functions in the functions.php file are known for the calling page? I hope I am not too confusing you all with my story, but I would really be very greatfull with some help. If needed I can also provide you with some more coding I used and configuring. I already checked my php.ini file and the following settings have already been applied: allow_url_fopen = On allow_url_include = On short_open_tag = On Many thanks in advance. This topic has been moved to Other Libraries and Frameworks. http://www.phpfreaks.com/forums/index.php?topic=319682.0 OVERVIEW: The code is about making call to the escreen web service using SOAP and Curl with client authentication required. Currently I am not getting any result only HTTP 403 and 500 errors. The call requires client authenticate cert to be on the callng site. CODE: $content = "<TicketRequest> <Version>1.0</Version> <Mode>Test</Mode> <CommitAction></CommitAction> <PartnerInfo> <UserName>xxxxxxxxxx</UserName> <Password>xxxxxxxxxxx</Password> </ PartnerInfo> <RequestorOrderID></RequestorOrderID> <CustomerIdentification> <IPAddress></IPAddress> <ClientAccount>xxxxxxxxxx</ClientAccount> <ClientSubAccount>xxxxxxxxxx</ClientSubAccount> <InternalAccount></InternalAccount> <ElectronicClientID></ElectronicClientID> </CustomerIdentification> <TicketAction> <Type></Type> <Params> <Param> <ID>4646</ID> <Value></Value> </Param> </Params> </TicketAction> </TicketRequest>"; $wsdl = "https://services.escreen.com/SingleSignOnStage/SingleSignOn.asmx"; $headers = array( "Content-type: text/xml;charset=\"utf-8\"", "Accept: text/xml", "Cache-Control: no-cache", "Pragma: no-cache", // "SOAPAction: \"\"", "Content-length: ".strlen($content), ); $ch = curl_init(); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $wsdl); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, 1); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_VERBOSE, '1'); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $content); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST, '1'); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, '1'); //curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, array("Content-Type: text/xml")); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, $headers); //curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, array('SOAPAction: ""')); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_CAPATH, '/home/pps/'); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_CAINFO, '/home/pps/authority.pem'); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSLCERT, 'PROTPLUSSOL_SSO.pem'); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSLCERTPASSWD, 'xxxxxxxxxxxx'); $output = curl_exec($ch); // Check if any error occured if(curl_errno($ch)) { echo 'Error no : '.curl_errno($ch).' Curl error: ' . curl_error($ch); } print_r($output); QUESTIONS: 1. I need to call the RequestTicket method and pass the XML string to it. I don't know how to do it here(pass the method name to call). 2. For client authentication they gave us three certs, one root cert, one intermediate cert and a client authentication cert PROTPLUSSOL_SSOpem(it was a .pfx file). Since we are on linux we converted them to pem . In curl calls I could not find way to how to include both the root cert and the intermediate cert ,so I combined them by making a new pem file and copying the intermediate cert and them the root cert and naming it authority.pem . I am not sure whether it works or not and would like your opinion. 3. For the current code Iam getting the error Error no : 77 Curl error: error setting certificate verify locations: CAfile: /home/pps/authority.pem CApath: /home/pps/ If I disable the curl error message,I am getting blank page with page title 403 - Forbidden. Access is denied. If I comment out the CURLOPT_CAPATH and CURLOPT_CAINFO lines it gives http 500 error page with the message as content and the following at the top. > HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error. Cache-Control: private Content-Type: text/html Server: Microsoft-IIS/7.5 X-AspNet-Version: 1.1.4322 X-Powered-By: ASP.NET Date: Thu, 02 Sep 2010 14:46:38 GMT Content-Length: 1208 If I comment out as above and also CURLOPT_SSLCERT and CURLOPT_SSLCERTPASSWD it gives 403 error with the message as content. So I would request you to help me out by pointing out whats wrong with the current code. Thank you. I can call the following function successfully as a single php program // Acknowledge and clear the orders function ack($client, $merchant, $id) { $docs = array('string' => $id); $params = array('merchant' => $merchant, 'documentIdentifierArray' => $docs); $result = $client->call('postDocumentDownloadAck', $params); return $result; } with $result = ack($t, $merchant,'2779540483'); successful output [documentDownloadAckProcessingStatus] => _SUCCESSFUL_ [documentID] => 2779540483 I'm trying to figure out how to call this function as an object from another program. Trying the following gives error ***Call to a member function call() on a non-object*** function postDocumentDownloadAck($t, $merchant, $id) { $this->error = null; $docs = array('string' => $this->id); $params = array('merchant' => $this->merchant, 'documentIdentifierArray' => $docs); ** I've tried the following which does nothing $result = $this->soap->call('postDocumentDownloadAck', $params); ** I've tried the following - which gives error "Call to a member function call() on a non-object" $result = $this->t->soap->call('postDocumentDownloadAck', $params); if($this->soap->fault) { $this->error = $result; return false; } return $result; } *** calling program snippet for above function $merchant= array( "merchant"=> $merchantid, "merchantName" => $merchantname, "email"=> $login, "password"=> $password); $t = new AmazonMerchantAPI($merchantid, $merchantname, $login, $password); $documentlist= $t->GetAllPendingDocumentInfo('_GET_ORDERS_DATA_'); $docid = $documentlist['MerchantDocumentInfo'][$i]['documentID']; $docs = array('string' => $docid); $ackorders = $t->postDocumentDownloadAck($t, $merchant,$docs); Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong are greatly appreciated. I have a script I am putting together that simulate a cricket game. The only issue is, that there are a huge number of functions because there doesn't seem to be any other way to do this properly. As well as this, there a while() loop and all this seems to be leading to the page reaching a max 30 second timeout when generating the result. My code is attached below, it is quite messy at the moment because i've just be working on it, but I was wondering if anyone has any solutions of how I can speed this up or change to prevent a timeout: <?php // Error reporting error_reporting(E_ALL); This is what I am trying to do: I have a simple form with: - 1 input field, where I can enter a number - 1 Submit Button When I enter a number into the field and click submit, I want that number to be send to the php file that is in the ajax call, then the script will take that number and run a bunch of queries and then return a new number. I want that new number to be used to call the php script via ajax again, until no number is returned, or something else is returned like the word "done" or something like that, at which point is simply makes an alert or populated a div with a message... The point is, that depending on the number entered it could take up to an hour to complete ALL the queries, so I want the script that is called to only run a fixed amount of queries at a time and then return the number it is currently at (+1), so that it can continue with the next number when it is called again. I would like to use jquery, but could also be any other way, as long as I get this to work. I already have the php script completed that needs to be called by the ajax, it returns a single number when being called. Thank you, vb I teaching myself php, but I am coming from java and other compiled languages, so the process has been a little bumpy. I am trying to do something like this: Code: [Select] class my_class { function one () { $two = two (); $three = three (); $five = $two + $three; return $five; } function two () { $two = 2; return $two; } function three () { $three = 3; return $three; } } Unfortunately, I keep getting an error message saying that my call to two () is an undefined function. I am gathering from this that the scope of one () is not aware of the existence of two (). Is there a way to get around this so I can call two () and three () from one ()? When in OOP I have been watching tutorials and some have functions just written like Code: [Select] class user { public $user; public function __construct($u) { $this->user = $u; } } do I need to type public before the function or is it better practice to just put Code: [Select] class user { public $user; function __construct($u) { $this->user = $u; } } Thanks! Hi, I've got 3 different upload forms in one form. I'm making a function so it just one piece of code. I'm having a bit of a problem changing some of the code so it works for all 3. Here is the function function loadImages ($action, $position) { $link = mysql_connect("","",""); if (!$link) { die('Error: could not connect: ' . mysql_error()); } $db_select = mysql_select_db("",$link); if (!$db_select) { die ("Error: database selection failed: " . mysql_error()); } $page = ($_POST["pageName"]); if ((($_FILES["bfile"]["type"] == "image/gif") || ($_FILES["bfile"]["type"] == "image/jpeg") || ($_FILES["bfile"]["type"] == "image/pjpeg")) && ($_FILES["bfile"]["size"] < 9000000)) { if ($_FILES["bfile"]["error"] > 0) { echo "Return Code: " . $_FILES["bfile"]["error"] . "<br />"; } else { $success = '<p style="font-weight: bold; color: #C00">Upload successful<br />'; // move uploaded temporary file to final destination move_uploaded_file($_FILES["bfile"]["tmp_name"], "uploads/" . $_FILES["bfile"]["name"]); // update database with new filename $filename = $_FILES["bfile"]["name"]; $sql = "UPDATE images SET filename= '$filename' where page = '$page' and position = '$position'"; if (!mysql_query($sql,$link)) { die('Error: ' . mysql_error()); } } } else { $fail = '<p style="font-weight: bold; color: #C00">Invalid file'; } mysql_close($link); } Now the $action is the bit that will determine whether it's updateTop updateMiddle or updateBottom. $position finds out if it's top middle or bottom if (isset($_POST['updateTop'])) { loadImages ($_POST['updateTop'], "top"); } Here is a sample of the html, it's in a switch case "Products": echo "<p>Image Top</p> <input type=\"file\" name=\"file\" id=\"file\" /> <input type=\"submit\" name=\"updateTop\" value=\"Update $page Top\" /> <p>Image Middle</p> <input type=\"file\" name=\"mfile\" id=\"mfile\" /> <input type=\"submit\" name=\"updateMiddle\" value=\"Update $page Middle\" /> <p>Image Bottom</p> <input type=\"file\" name=\"bfile\" id=\"bfile\" /> <input type=\"submit\" name=\"updateBottom\" value=\"Update $page Bottom\" /> "; break; What I need to do is get $_FILES["bfile" into a variable to see whether it's "bfile" "mfile" or "file" but not sure how to write it. Thanks for the help. i am wondering what the '@' is used for when used in front of a function like Function(@$VAR); What is the benefit of the @? OK, so if I've got this in my one of my class files: public function userr($user) { $thisquery = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM users WHERE username='". $user ."'"); if(mysql_num_rows($thisquery) == 1) { return true; } return false; } Could I use something like this: if($class->userr($user)) { // Something } If not, how would I go about doing something like it? And is there any way I could use a mysql_fetch_assoc in a function? Can someone tell me by looking at the following code why function pcust() does not work, I am new to programming? Code: [Select] $firstname = "chris"; $surname = "reynolds"; $address1 = "12 birch end"; $town = "Wallington"; $county = "surrey"; $postcode = "wh20 3bg"; $telephone = "01372 854785"; $cust_details = fix_cust($firstname, $surname, $address1,$town, $county, $postcode, $telephone ); function fix_cust($n1, $n2, $n3, $n4, $n5, $n6, $n7) { $n1 = ucfirst(strtolower($n1)); $n2 = ucfirst(strtolower($n2)); $n3 = ucwords(strtolower($n3)); $n4 = ucfirst(strtolower($n4)); $n5 = ucfirst(strtolower($n5)); $n6 = ucfirst(strtoupper($n6)); $n7 = ucfirst(strtolower($n7)); return array($n1, $n2, $n3, $n4, $n5, $n6, $n7); } echo $cust_details[0] . New to php and decided to start using functions. I'm trying to add functions from an external functions.php file to my other pages and then call the functions where necessary. How should I go about it? I tried something like this: Functions.php: Code: [Select] <?php function field() { echo 'text heherh'; } ?> and then when calling it to when needed for example: include 'includes/functions.php'; // at the top of the page Code: [Select] <?php // and when trying to call the function on a specific line if (!$sname) $errorstring = $errorstring . "<b>Surname:" . field() ; //field being the function name ?> I know this is very simple but I have never used functions before.. tried google, didn't help much and I'm pressed for time so decided to ask here. Thanks in advance I have a function to get some data from the database. However it always comes back with: Code: [Select] Notice: Undefined variable: db in C:\wamp\www\ASF A Simple Forum\functions\functions.php on line 233 Fatal error: Call to a member function query() on a non-object in C:\wamp\www\ASF A Simple Forum\functions\functions.php on line 233 here is the code: require_once(ASF_ROOT."includes/init.php"); // this is where the db connection is function get_db_info($type, $select, $table, $where="", $order="DESC", $limit="") { if (empty($type) || empty($select) || empty($table)) { try { throw new emptyArgs(); } catch (emptyArgs $invalid) { echo "<div style=\"border:1px solid #f00; padding:5px; width:350px; line-height:10px;\">"; echo "<b>$invalid</b>"; echo "<p>get_info() needs atleast 3 arguments (Type, Select and Table) - none supplied</p>"; echo "</div>"; } } else { if ($type == "num") { $query = $db->query(" SELECT $select FROM ".TBL_PREFIX."$table $where $order $limit ") or die($db->error()); $result = $db->num_rows(MYSQLI_NUM); return $result; } else { $query = $db->query(" SELECT $select FROM ".TBL_PREFIX."$table $where $order $limit "); $result = $query->fetch_array(MYSQL_ASSOC); return $result; } } } I have a function for mysqli_real_escape_string above this function and it works with no errors. Have i done something wrong? as you can see i am including the file which holds the connection but it doesnt seem to use it. every other file that uses the connection works fine. Hi, I could use a little guidance here. 1) is a function with values to be sent to 2). 1) <!-- use ajax - OnCalc function to send data to your database. --> function OnCalc(value1,op,value2,total) { 2) php file using above function values <?php header( "refresh:5;url='http://localhost/hom...lcprint.php'"); echo 'You\'ll be redirected in about 5 secs. If not, click <a href="http://localhost/hom...hp">here</a>.'; echo '<script type="text/javascript">' , 'OnCalc();' , '</script>'; No error but code not working? Hey guys. Can anyone tell me what this means? function foo { } It is basic php but I don't get it. Should it be called for execution, or does it work automatically, or both? The php manual at w3schools and php.net are too tough for me. That's why I posted here. Thanks! |
