PHP - Generate Variables In While Loop?
Hi Already looked around, and although I've found some solution I simply don't understand them (not skilled at all). I'm getting 10 random results using this, which works fine and list 10 random results. $sql = "SELECT name FROM db ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 10;"; $result = mysqli_query($con,$sql); while ($row=mysqli_fetch_array($result,MYSQLI_ASSOC)) { echo $row['name']."<br>"; } How can I make 10 new variables for each result? Similar TutorialsI know that it is possible to see what is sent by looking at livehttpheaders, but how do you know how hidden variables are generated? I don't think that that's possible to see that from live httpheaders. I need to create a loop where I can cycle through three variables and determine the maximum output. Here is an example... First loop $var_one = .01 $var_two = .01 $var_three = .98 run calculation for vars Second Loop $var_one = .02 $var_two = .01 $var_three = .97 run calculation for vars This loop would run through ALL possible values making sure that the total of all variables would always equal 1. There could be more than three variables so this will be dynamic. I have no idea how to make this. Any thoughts? I guess I'll rephrase since my wording wasn't very clear. Why don't echo "<p>\n"; if (!empty($locations) && is_array($locations)) { foreach ($locations as $field => $val) { if ($field == "City") { echo $field . ' : ' . $val . "<br />\n"; $val = $cityvar; } if ($field == "ZipPostalCode") { echo $field . ' : ' . $val . "<br />\n"; $val = $zipvar; } if ($field == "CountryName") { echo $field . ' : ' . $val . "<br />\n"; $val = $countryvar; } } } echo "</p>\n"; foreach ($_POST as $key => $value){ // Handle escape characters, which depends on setting of magic quotes if($get_magic_quotes_exists == true && get_magic_quotes_gpc() == 1){ $value = urlencode(stripslashes($value)); } else { $value = urlencode($value); } $req .= "&$key=$value"; } $reg is not returning anything. I'm looking for a more efficient way of declaring variables within a class. What I normally use is a class which is actually a database object. Every time I make a new table in my database I make a new class and new attributes to match the fields in the db table. Looks something like this: Code: [Select] protected static $table_name="myTable"; protected static $db_fields=array('id', 'name', 'address', 'tel_number', 'fax_number'); public $name; public $address; public $tel_number; public $fax_number; //etc. etc. At the moment I am manually adding the attribute, everytime I add a field to the db table. I'm guessing there should be a way to loop through the $db_fields array and add an attribute in the loop? Can anyone help me with the syntax for this. Is there also a way that I don't have to list the fields everytime in $db_fields....can $db_fields not just look at the relevant db table and pull out the field names in some kind of clever method? Hello All, Attached are 2 screenshots of the form and output for better reference. What I am trying to do is select all or some checkboxes and for those boxes that are checked, echo out their Payment Method. ---If a checkbox is checked but the Payment Method box == select, give an error. ---If checkbox is checked and Payment Method != select, echo out the ID and selection from the drop down box. Currently, I am echoing the correct ID(s) when certain boxes are checked, but I'm getting every drop down box selection when the corresponding box is not selected. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't get it... Anyone have any ideas or options I might not have thought of for debugging? $item_name = ("SELECT * FROM items WHERE id = '$grab_item'"); $que_items = mysql_query($item_name); while ($item_todel = mysql_fetch_array($que_items, MYSQL_BOTH)) { $name = $item_todel['name']; $desc = $item_todel['desc']; } echo ($name . It's just not filling the two variables.... I have this simple while loop which retrieves data from a mysql query and displays several links on my homepage. I would like to avoid using the php get function and add query strings to my urls I am thinking of using session variables but I need help and I'm pretty sure this can't be done. When a visitor clicks a link from the several ones displayed by the while loop, that particular variable would be set in a session. In my code, the session will always send the last var Can this be done? Code: [Select] <? session_start(); // Start Session Variables $result = mysql_query("my query"); while($slice = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)){ $url = $slice['url']; $name = $slice['name']; ?> <a href="<? echo $url; ?>"><? echo $name; ?></a> <? } $_SESSION['name'] = $name; // Store session data ?> First page adds a new job number, then the order page loaded with the job number id as a get id. So the issue I'm having is consecutive loops on semi-large arrays, over and over. Consider this array:
$firstArray = array( 'row1' => array( 'dates' => array( '2014-01-01' => array('key1' => 'value1', 'key2' => 'value2', 'key3' => 'value3', 'key4' => 'value4', 'key5' => 'value5', 'key6' => 'value6', 'key7' => 'value7', 'key8' => 'value8', 'key9' => 'value9', 'key10' => 'value10'), '2014-01-02' => array('key1' => 'value1', 'key2' => 'value2', 'key3' => 'value3', 'key4' => 'value4', 'key5' => 'value5', 'key6' => 'value6', 'key7' => 'value7', 'key8' => 'value8', 'key9' => 'value9', 'key10' => 'value10'), '2014-01-03' => array('key1' => 'value1', 'key2' => 'value2', 'key3' => 'value3', 'key4' => 'value4', 'key5' => 'value5', 'key6' => 'value6', 'key7' => 'value7', 'key8' => 'value8', 'key9' => 'value9', 'key10' => 'value10'), '2014-01-04' => array('key1' => 'value1', 'key2' => 'value2', 'key3' => 'value3', 'key4' => 'value4', 'key5' => 'value5', 'key6' => 'value6', 'key7' => 'value7', 'key8' => 'value8', 'key9' => 'value9', 'key10' => 'value10'), '2014-01-05' => array('key1' => 'value1', 'key2' => 'value2', 'key3' => 'value3', 'key4' => 'value4', 'key5' => 'value5', 'key6' => 'value6', 'key7' => 'value7', 'key8' => 'value8', 'key9' => 'value9', 'key10' => 'value10'), '2014-01-06' => array('key1' => 'value1', 'key2' => 'value2', 'key3' => 'value3', 'key4' => 'value4', 'key5' => 'value5', 'key6' => 'value6', 'key7' => 'value7', 'key8' => 'value8', 'key9' => 'value9', 'key10' => 'value10'), '2014-01-07' => array('key1' => 'value1', 'key2' => 'value2', 'key3' => 'value3', 'key4' => 'value4', 'key5' => 'value5', 'key6' => 'value6', 'key7' => 'value7', 'key8' => 'value8', 'key9' => 'value9', 'key10' => 'value10'), ) ), 'row2' => array( 'dates' => array( '2014-02-01' => array('key1' => 'value1', 'key2' => 'value2', 'key3' => 'value3', 'key4' => 'value4', 'key5' => 'value5', 'key6' => 'value6', 'key7' => 'value7', 'key8' => 'value8', 'key9' => 'value9', 'key10' => 'value10'), '2014-02-02' => array('key1' => 'value1', 'key2' => 'value2', 'key3' => 'value3', 'key4' => 'value4', 'key5' => 'value5', 'key6' => 'value6', 'key7' => 'value7', 'key8' => 'value8', 'key9' => 'value9', 'key10' => 'value10'), '2014-02-03' => array('key1' => 'value1', 'key2' => 'value2', 'key3' => 'value3', 'key4' => 'value4', 'key5' => 'value5', 'key6' => 'value6', 'key7' => 'value7', 'key8' => 'value8', 'key9' => 'value9', 'key10' => 'value10'), '2014-02-04' => array('key1' => 'value1', 'key2' => 'value2', 'key3' => 'value3', 'key4' => 'value4', 'key5' => 'value5', 'key6' => 'value6', 'key7' => 'value7', 'key8' => 'value8', 'key9' => 'value9', 'key10' => 'value10'), '2014-02-05' => array('key1' => 'value1', 'key2' => 'value2', 'key3' => 'value3', 'key4' => 'value4', 'key5' => 'value5', 'key6' => 'value6', 'key7' => 'value7', 'key8' => 'value8', 'key9' => 'value9', 'key10' => 'value10'), '2014-02-06' => array('key1' => 'value1', 'key2' => 'value2', 'key3' => 'value3', 'key4' => 'value4', 'key5' => 'value5', 'key6' => 'value6', 'key7' => 'value7', 'key8' => 'value8', 'key9' => 'value9', 'key10' => 'value10'), '2014-02-07' => array('key1' => 'value1', 'key2' => 'value2', 'key3' => 'value3', 'key4' => 'value4', 'key5' => 'value5', 'key6' => 'value6', 'key7' => 'value7', 'key8' => 'value8', 'key9' => 'value9', 'key10' => 'value10'), '2014-02-08' => array('key1' => 'value1', 'key2' => 'value2', 'key3' => 'value3', 'key4' => 'value4', 'key5' => 'value5', 'key6' => 'value6', 'key7' => 'value7', 'key8' => 'value8', 'key9' => 'value9', 'key10' => 'value10'), '2014-02-09' => array('key1' => 'value1', 'key2' => 'value2', 'key3' => 'value3', 'key4' => 'value4', 'key5' => 'value5', 'key6' => 'value6', 'key7' => 'value7', 'key8' => 'value8', 'key9' => 'value9', 'key10' => 'value10'), ) ) );Originally the data comes from ~2-3 database tables, of course. But to ilustrate the point, this is how the main array looks like. This array usually contains anywhere between 10-50 rows, each row containing at least 10 dates, with 10 key/values each. And after setting up all the data, it needs to be processed. Currently this is how a friend of mine did it.. $placeDataHere = array(); foreach($firstArray as $key => $dates) { foreach($dates as $date => $values) { foreach($values as $key => $value) { $placeDataHere['DV_' . $date]['SM_' . $key] = 'KS_' . $value; //Followed by another ~50-70 lines of processing the 3 loop's data.. ... ... .... .... .... .... .... .... } } }Obviously this isn't good practise, but we can't seem to figure out a better way of doing it, since both the data and the loops are horribly nested. This loop and setup of $firstArray is run anywhere between 10-20 times/request, due to amount of users we wish to process. So, the result is that this code can take up to over 2-3 minutes to complete, which isn't really optimal performance. In short my question is, are there any better methods of handling this with the data setup we currently have? does anyone know how to decode this XML variable value into string values? I also need to know the oposite way: creating variable values into xml. I've tried several code examples but they did filter the requested data. Code: [Select] $xml='<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <elements> <text identifier="ed9cdd4c-ae8b-4ecb-bca7-e12a5153bc02"> <value/> </text> <textarea identifier="a77f06fc-1561-453c-a429-8dd05cdc29f5"> <value><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consetetur sadipscing elitr, sed diam nonumy eirmod tempor invidunt ut labore et dolore magna aliquyam erat, sed diam voluptua. This is incorrect as it should be 65 (The average between the module marks percentage should be 65 in the example above) but for some stange reason I can get the answer 65. I have a variable called $courseMark and that does the calculation. Now if the $courseMark is echo outside the where loop, then it will equal 65 but if it is put in while loop where I want the variable to be displayed, then it adds up to 70. Why does it do this. How in the while loop can I do it so it doesn't display it for the first mark only but for all the session marks so that it ends up showing the correct answer 65 and not 72? <?php if(isset($_POST['submit'])){ //collect form data $location = $_POST['location']; $ID = $_POST['ID']; $section = $_POST['section']; //check name is set if($location ==''){ $error[] = 'Name is required'; } //if no errors carry on if(!isset($error)){ # Title of the CSV $Content = "location, ID, section\n"; //set the data of the CSV $Content .= "$location, $ID, $section\n"; # set the file name and create CSV file $my_file = ("$location$ID$section.cvs"); $handle = fopen("$my_file", "w") or die('Cannot open file: '.$my_file); header('Content-Type: application/csv'); header('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="' . $FileName . Does anyone have a code that will generate something like this ? Hi guys, so i have this file upload script. When i upload a file it gets stored in /uploads and keeps the same file name. So if i upload a file "test.exe" the file will be available at uploads/test.exe
What i want is that it generates a new file name like: "9daln292os.exe" so upload/9daln292os.exe
This is my code:

Edited by darox, 21 July 2014 - 01:07 PM. hi, im trying to create a website and only now started thinking about the security part(noob mistake). say for example i have home.php page and an index.php page. index.php is where users would sign up/log in. the login and sign up processes are all done but i was thinking of creating a unique id of some sort for when the user logs in. or something like this site (forum.phpfreaks) when we sign in, you are signed but the url stays the same = forums.phpfreaks.com. like if we were signed out we will be permanantly signed out and typing in forums.phpfreaks.com would just land us at the main page where we need to sign in.
right now ,my home.php can be accessed with or without logging in even with sessions.
hope im making sense, thanks in advanced!
**haha that rhymed.
i tried adding:
<?php echo $_SERVER[PHP_SELF] . '?name=' . $userData['name'];?> in the index.php:
<?php ob_start(); session_start(); if(isset($_POST['login'])) { $email = $_POST['email']; $password = $_POST['pass']; require "connection.php"; $emails = mysqli_real_escape_string($con, $email); $query = "SELECT id, name, email, password, salt FROM users WHERE email = '$emails';"; $result = mysqli_query($con, $query); if(mysqli_num_rows($result) == 0) // User not found. So, redirect to login_form again. { echo "<script>alert(\"User does not exist!\")</script>"; } $userData = mysqli_fetch_array($result, MYSQLI_ASSOC); $hash = hash('sha256', $userData['salt'] . hash('sha256', $password) ); if($hash != $userData['password']) { echo "<script>alert(\"Incorrect Password!\")</script>"; }else{ session_regenerate_id(); $_SESSION['sess_user_id'] = $userData['id']; $_SESSION['sess_name'] = $userData['name']; session_write_close(); header('Location: home.php?user='); } } ob_flush(); ?> <!DOCTYPE html> <form name="login" method="post" action="<?php echo $_SERVER[PHP_SELF] . '?name=' . $userData['name'];?>">but i got access forbidden! Edited by noobdood, 19 May 2014 - 10:05 PM. Hi, can someone help me to understand this?
