PHP - Php - Ajax Passing Value To Another Php File

I'm trying to upload a file using ajax, but I have some problems.

What I try to do here is getting the value of the selected file and redraw my canvas ( HTML5 ) so that the chosen pic is the background.
The file i upload to test is a gif of 4KB, so not that big.

Hi, I need to pass value of variable to another php file. I thought it is possible to do it as following:

But the problem is like that. The php file inside which I want to write above html code has not using <form> tag and it has no buttons. So how to initiate the transfer of variable into another php file? Is the above idea is not the good idea? Are there any another ways?

The problem that I am having is that I also store the mysql connection details in session vars (they change depending on who logs in). I have tried a number of ways of "passing" these session vars to the uploadify.php file which does the grunt work of the uploading, but I can never seem to access them. I obviously dont want to pass them to the uploadify.php script through the js because that will show my credentials in the source code.

So, the question is, how can I access these session vars in the called file. I assume its a combination of session_write_end() and session_start() but I havent got the right combination yet.

I use jQuery when adding messages. However, the file can be called directly. For example: includes/add_comment.php?id=2

So, I can make a form and call this file directly to add a message. ID is user id and form can be submited with HTML form wherever are located.

I am trying to pass a variable from inside of a function in a file that is included

I am essentially using a include file for a mysql connection and based on the connection outcome i am either setting a value to true or false.  It prints  "Connected succesfully" and what not just fine, but, after that it wont pass on the variables data.  I know its the function because, it passes the data if i put the variable before the function... i just dont get it.. any help would be great.

I have a php and jquery/ajax call I am using to create a file/send an email. I get all the contents from my textboxes but I want a message to display on the screen afterwards being success or fail. In my .ajax call My call is exiting right before the ‘success:’  part. Why is my call not succeeding? Any tips/help will be appreciated

Hi.  I have a page that allows users to upload some files, using <input type="file">...

What I would like is to be able to upload the file "onchange" of this input field using ajax so that (1) users can upload their second file while their first one is uploading, and (2) so that they can see their file on the page as soon as it's done uploading.  But I can't seem to find a way to populate the $_FIlLES array without actually submitting the form.

I've seen some stuff online where people use iframes to do this kind of thing, but I was hoping there was another way to do it.  Any help would be great.

Right now I redirect to index page after I delete a record.  However I am looking to make it so that I can delete a record without redirecting the page. I know this can be accomplised using Ajax.  I have spent countless hours before trying to make it work, but it did not work.   So here is a basic setup I created.   Can you please update it with ajax code so that I can see how it's done properly?

Now I'm having this strange issue with my website

I'm currently working on a tester system and I've encountered a problem that I'm unable to find the issue, tho I'm thinking my ajax php part of the script to be the thing causing it even tho it seems strange that it would cause it.

The first part which is connected to where the problem occurs is the echo"<form>"; and from there, It should take you to index.php?page=tester&select=answer, now that is where it in the browser goes there tho it still shows the page stuff from the last page which is index.php?page=tester&select=applications, so it's like showing both &select=answer and &select=applications on the same page.

I've been trying this for hours now, looking at different examples and trying to change them to work for me, but with no luck...

This is what I am trying to do:

I have a simple form with:
- 1 input field, where I can enter a number
- 1 Submit Button

When I enter a number into the field and click submit, I want that number to be send to the php file that is in the ajax call, then the script will take that number and run a bunch of queries and then return a new number. I want that new number to be used to call the php script via ajax again, until no number is returned, or something else is returned like the word "done" or something like that, at which point is simply makes an alert or populated a div with a message...

The point is, that depending on the number entered it could take up to an hour to complete ALL the queries, so I want the script that is called to only run a fixed amount of queries at a time and then return the number it is currently at (+1), so that it can continue with the next number when it is called again.

I would like to use jquery, but could also be any other way, as long as I get this to work. I already have the php script completed that needs to be called by the ajax, it returns a single number when being called.

in the url string $idc is passing but $name2 is not. $name2 is pickup from a query, I echo that value everywhere in the code and it echo its value but is not passing so how.

I have some function or method.  Is there a better design patter to implement this?

Maybe the second function?

Please provide decision making factors why you would use one approach over the other.
