Similar TutorialsHi, I am getting frustrated beyond belief at the moment with trying to get a very simple script to run, I am using PHP 5.3.3 and MySQL 5.1 on a Win2k8 server with IIS7.5. Basically my script is connecting to a local database, running a single select query, returning those rows and building up a string from them. The problem is that I am receiving complete BS responses from PHP that the access is denied for the user being specified. This is complete rubbish since the user can connect via mysql, sqlyog, ASP.NET MVC without issue but for some bizarre reason it is not working via PHP. The code for the script is here : Code: [Select] <?php $mysql = mysql_connect('127.0.0.1:3306', 'myuser', 'mypass', 'mydatabase'); if (!$mysql) { die(mysql_error()); $content = "<nobr></nobr>"; } else { $result = mysql_query('SELECT * FROM tblEventGroup'); $content = "<nobr>"; if ($result) { while($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) { $content .= "<span>"; $content .= $row['GroupName']; $content .= "</span>"; $content .= "<a href=\"../Event/EventSearch?groupid="; $content .= $row['GroupId']; $content .= "\" target=\"_blank\">Book here</a> "; } } mysql_close($mysql); $content .= "</nobr>"; } ?> I cannot for the life of me understand what the problem is, the return error is Access denied for user 'myuser'@'localhost' (using password: YES) create table mimi (mimiId int(11) not null, mimiBody varchar(255) ); <?php //connecting to database include_once ('conn.php'); $sql ="SELECT mimiId, mimiBody FROM mimi"; $result = mysqli_query($conn, $sql ); $mimi = mysqli_fetch_assoc($result); $mimiId ='<span>No: '.$mimi['mimiId'].'</span>'; $mimiBody ='<p class="leading text-justify">'.$mimi['mimiBody'].'</p>'; ?> //what is next? i want to download pdf or text document after clicking button or link how to do that I am trying to add a friendship relation between users, but the friends ID always sets to 0 in the database. Tables: I have a members table that includes all my members information and a user_friendship table that relates each member. user_friendship (friendship_id(PK), user_id(FK), friend_if(FK), status(default=0), date_created) The users id is stored in a cookie called user_id and the friends id is stored in a cookie called v_user_id. When I execute the following code, the 'friend_id' is set to 0, but everything else works: $sql = "INSERT INTO user_friendship (user_id, friend_id, status) VALUES ('$_COOKIE[user_id]', '$_COOKIE[v_user_id]', '0')"; $result = mysql_query($sql); Please help me, going nuts Hello!
I am trying to display content that will only be displayed for 30 seconds to each visitor. I want to have a unique ID given to each user that visits my page and also add that assigned ID to the end of the URL. If the page is loaded again after 30 seconds, I want the unique user ID to redirect using header();
So When a suer visits my page, I want the end of the url to have “userid=“ like this:
http://example.com/page.php?userid=0000000001If that user comes back to the same url after 30 seconds, I want to redirect using header(); How do I do this? what is the best way? Can somebody help me here? Best regards, Martijn I'm making a login area for the hotels in a booking system, where they enter their hotels' information, policy, and room rates but I want to make the room rates when it appears for clients, it appears with a percentage (commission) added to what the Hotel representative will enter So what's better? it should be added in the admin area of the hotels and gets saved in the database with the commission or I should add it in the booking form so the code grab the rate from the database, multiply it by the percentage and echo the result? hey everyone! in new to the whole php and mysql thing and i am stuck with one part, i have got a login script, once loged in it takes them to there account page, on there account page they can added data into there file, to mysql, so what I'm looking for is how to add the username they logged in with to be added into the database with the rest of the information they just submitted, so when they go to retrieve there information into a table they will only get the information that has there username with it. as much help as possible would be great! thank-you Hey guys, I am trying to input data into a mysql database from data thats been added by a jquery form with cloned fields. For each value of each question i want to pass it into the relevant Field in my database but rather than overwriting the current value i want to be added on to it. (For example if the current value is 2, once the new value (1) has added it will make the new value of 3.). I have MySQL table with the following fields: user=>varchar product=>varchar Amount=>int Date=>date Note=>tinytext I can't add value to these field by the following php code: $date = date("Y.m.d"); $query = "INSERT INTO order VALUES ('farhad', 'Mango', '10', '$date', 'hello')"; $result = mysql_query($query) or die(mysql_error()); I receive the following warning: Warning: date(): It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. I'm fairly new to PHP and I'm self teaching.
I'm sure this will be out there somewhere but I can't for the life of me think of the terminology to search the net and find the solution.
I'm creating a Task Manager;
Each task can be assigned to many users at once.
I'm creating a text field in the task field, this text field will include user ids separated by commas.
I believe I can explode this data to handle each id.
However how can I build a php script that will show the user all the task assigned too them.
If it did a search LIKE in the text field. The id could be confused with others.
If someone knows the solutions I would be very greatful.

I have created a button which when pressed should present the user with their details (whoever is logged in), here is the form code: <form id="form1" name="form1" method="post" action="getdetails.php"> <input type="submit" name="Get Details" value="Get Details" /> </label> </p> </form> Here is the getdetails.php file <?php mysql_connect("localhost","root",""); mysql_select_db("test"); $username = $_POST['textfield']; echo '</br>'; $query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM membersdetails WHERE name=`$username` "); while($result = mysql_fetch_array($query)) { //display echo $result['firstname']; echo $result['surname']; } ?> Its not workin at all I have attacthed the error i am getting Any help please? Hi, I have wondered if just one user should be used (e.g. root) for connecting to the database is the right way of doing things? (which is what I have always done). Would it be better to have a new user created in the privileges section in MySQL and have all operation/table access assigned appropriately for every single user that signs up? I would think that this would give a lot more security but would need a bit more work. What are your thoughts? I have a family site with a member list and a forum that both run on MySql. One of the items in the member list is the birthday. What I like to achieve is that a day or 2 before a member's birthday, a post wil be automaticly inserted in the forum, (a post that contains that this persons birthday is comming up in a few days) without any user input. I like to have this done automaticly because I don't feel like setting up a cron job for every member seperatly. There are just too many members. What I need is a script that will create a cron job or something simular the moment a new member registers and updates his profile and sets his birthday. |
