Browser History Broken After Form Submit	View Content

Dear fourm, i am wondering if anyone can shed some light on this form submission problem with back/forward buttons.

long story short: i used to make a form, then submit to a form process php file. errors were difficult to deal with. Thus, many people tell me to submit to the same page. I now submit to the same page.

my homepage has a login button. i use a csrf token in a hidden input matched with a session variable. i decided to submit to same page and handle the submit like so:

if server request-method = post and isset input name and isset session token then check the token with hash_equals

if everything matches then show the login page.

i don't have a problem with the form and the form submission processing. everything i fine.

now when i use the browser refresh button on the login page, i am sent back to the homepage. all is good.

when i press the back button, i go back to the homepage again. super.

then i press the forward button in the browser and i get a not connected error.

the back button now also shows this error.

i tinkered around a bit and added crazy ideas and it worked one time with unset($_POST) as an else to the if mentioned above.

the idea is that if server request-method is post without an else. the page is listed below for any get request to process.

i assume that the browser is trying to repost data is empty but my if statement should kick it out to the get code, right?

what i want is to unset the csrf token and the matching session token for security purposes. i suppose that this breaks the back/forward buttons?

how can i get the browser to show the homepage regardless of the post situation? there must be a logical answer. something in my code is breaking this an preventing the browser from simply loading the home page

Hello everyone,
I am having a problem since some time now and need some help.
I have created a login page where the user has to input a username and password to login.
The username will be put in a session and when the user logs out the session data and session itself gets destroyed.
However when I go back in the browser history to the page where I logged in I get the "famous" resend information dialog that asks you to resend the information from the login form. Which means that all the post data gets resend and the user logs in again without having to put in a username and password.

using a header to redirect to the login page is not going to work since I use my view_manager to display the pages.
Does anyone know of any solution to get rid of that stupid resend information dialog without using a header? I tryed unsetting the values of POST in my login code but that did not seem to work. Please help me out I've been looking for an answer for over 1 and a half week so far

Is there anyone who knows how to remove the POST data from a form when the user goes back in browser history?
If it's not possible, is there any solution except using a header?

hello guys, this is my first post on this forum and I really need your help on this.

What I have is: I created a login page a home page and a index page.

The index page checks if the session is set. If it's not the login page will be shown. If it is the homepage will be shown.
Whenever the user logs in, the session gets set. The problem is is that whenever I login and the user presses the back button on his browser my session will always be returned false which means that whenever a user has logged in, the index page doesn't show home but shows the login page again even though the user has already logged in.

Hello everyone, I'm new here first post, but there's a weirdness in code that i need to share,

First of all, I know everyone who knows PHP/MYSQL will say the same thing... Server side code cannot be broken by a browser, especially by client side coding. I agree!!! That may be the case here too, but I have encountered one of the weirdest code ever and the client side code is causing an unexpected result in PHP/MYSQL, and only in Internet Explorer. Unexplainable, and I am seeking for an answer.

After hours of trouble shooting I finally targeted the the trouble code... and it's CSS, and it's affecting a MYSQL line of code in PHP...

... anyways let me explain how the code should run and the problem... in one page a variable passed in the URL is being captured by PHP using the $_GET method, if that variable is empty PHP runs a code which updates a MYSQL database. That works fine, and as expected, except in INTERNET EXPLORER. On that same page, a css file which is to be included with the output html to the browser contains the above line of css too. Now in every other browser that code works as expected, if the variable is NOT empty, update the database and then output the html code. In IE the database gets updated no matter what, whether the variable is empty of not. Now the its only the mysql code inside the IF statement that get affected, because for troubleshooting purposes I have put echo statements inside the code, to catch the problem, and the echo statements work as should, just not the mysql update statement.

Someone care to shed some light into this mystery?

Hi. Pretty straight forward I guess but as the name suggests am a newbie. I have a form that requires the user to enter certain parameters. If the values are blank it submits to itself and loads the error messages. What I want to do is create PHP code that submits the form to a different url. What I thought was create two forms (the second with hidden fields replicating the first form), each form having a different url in the action"" code. I work for a non-profit agency and I have been up all night trying to fix a registration form that has suddenly stopped working after a php upgrade from v 5.0 to v 5.2. The server admin says it is my coding. When you hit submit the form actually does what it is supposed to however the missing link here is that I am not being emailed after each registration with the registraiton informationl.

I have also cut and pasted the contents of that file below and have attached it to this email. There is also the last version of the form I used still up on the website that I never took down after our summer program. There are a few modifications to this page to meet the program requirements but in July www.nctt.net/SIReg.php was working fine. Any assitance, hints, suggestions, anything at all is welcome and I thnk you in advance for taking a loot.

Hello, first time poster.. I've looked the web over for a long time and can't figure this one out.

- Below is basic code that successfully checks MySQL for a match and displays result. I was debugging and forced the "height" and "width" to be 24 and 36 to make sure that wasn't the problem. That's good..
- I'd like to give the user ability to select width and height from a form.. and have it do an onchange this.form.submit so the form can be changing as fields are altered (thus the onchange interaction)
- In a normal coding environment I've done this numerous times with no "Page cannot be displayed" problems. It would simply change one select-option value at a time til they get down the form and click submit... but in WordPress I'm having trouble making even ONE single onchange work!
- I've implemented the plugins they offer which allows you to "copy+paste" your php code directly into their wysiwyg editor. That works with basic tests like my first bullet point above.
- I've copied and pasted the wordpress url (including the little ?page_id=123) into the form "action" url... that didn't work... tried forcing it into an <option value=""> tag.. didn't work. I'm just not sure.

I've obviously put xx's in place of private info..

Why does this form give me Page Cannot Be Displayed in WordPress every time? It won't do anything no matter how simple.. using onchange..
