Alright,  wasn't quite sure how to summarize this in the title,  but I want to:

Check if a user status is "active" or not based on the UserName input.

I have a table witch holds:

VarChar Username      Var CharPassWord     int Active
 Ted                        TedsPW                1
something like the above(assuming it formatted correctly.

In my php script I will want to input a variable for Username to check for:

inputUN in this example would be "Ted".

$UserNameToCheck = $_GET['inputUN'];

Then I want to check for that UserName in the database,  if it exists,  I want pull the value for the "Active" field for just that UserName and echo it.

I am using php to upload a file to my server, and at the same time inserting the files name and url into my mysql database.

$sql = "UPDATE uploads SET name = '$name', url='$target_path'";
    $statement = $dbh->prepare($sql); 
    $statement->execute();

This is working, however, when I upload a new file, rather than making a new entry in my database, it just overwrites the first one.

I'm quite new at mysql so was wondering how I would make it add new entrys instead of overwriting the current one?

I have some code to help me keep track of the programs that I write for athletes. It is basically a traffic light system, where if an athlete's program does not need to be updated for more than a week, the cell background is green, if it needs to be updated in less than a week, it turns amber, and if it is overdue, it turns red.

However, the problem is that when I upload a new program, that row appears in green, but the old program can be seen in red. Basically I want the code to only show the most recent program for each athlete. Not sure if I use Max? for this.

I'm looking for the most recent instance of athlete_id_prog in the programs_for_athletes table.

I have a multi-dimensional array looking somewhat like the following:

I need to re-order this array so that any items with the 'createdtime' within a month from todays date are at the top, followed by all of the other items in the original order.  I would usually amend the sql but I need to do this with the array.

What would be the best way to do this? I found array_multisort but im not too sure how to adapt this to my needs.

The problem:

I'm trying to create a page which outputs images from a folder which I have been
able to do, but the problem I'm having is not being able to get the page to display
the most recent image according to file modification date at the top.

The first set of code below outputs the image timestamps in descending order, from newest to oldest which is
what I want, but as soon as I change/add a couple lines of code (Shown in the second lot of code) to get the image
file name along with the timestamp, the echoed list (timestamp and file names) gets muddled up in a random order.

In short;
As soon as the file names are retrieved with the timestamp, the list
goes from being organised descendingly, to not.

I have used the following script to correctly display the first file from the array across the selected directory and its sub-directories. Does anyone know how to modify this code to only echo the most recent file based on filemtime across the directory/subdirectories?

Greetings everyone! I have a form that stores data to a database. Separate from that page I would like to have another where at any given time a user can download a .csv of the most recent addition or two? If not a .csv, can they easily view the record without having to know mySQL / phpAdmin and such?

I have been using this script for years. I realise it is a little old and probably not well written, however it has been functional. I suspect the problem is that maybe they have turned the register_globals off at the server and the script is no longer working. I don't know if that is the problem. The error I get when I attempt to upload an image is this:

What I'm trying to figure out how to do is near the bottom of the script where it has a for loop for numSegments and the dropdown for the sortOrder for each one. What the options are supposed to fill is the amount of matches or the event. So the option text would be "Match 1" or however many down with the numMatches variable I guess. And the option would just be the number of the match.

I'm making an admin page which will contain a number of articles. Unlike most sites, these articles won't be ordered based on date, but however the admin wishes.

To do this I've added an order column to the mysql, in the admin page all the articles are displayed and next to them a text input, with the value set to their current order number (1,2,3, 4 etc)

My problem is hard to explain, but as you can tell $update only does it for the first article. How can I make it change the `order` column for all the articles.
